    themzpat,
That is way too long to have to wait for your tablet to charge. Does this happen every time you try to charge your tablet? Have your already reset the tablet? http://vz.to/1fFPfqJ

  • Zoom on Galaxy Tablet

When I first started using the Galaxy, there was a zoom function on the camera. There isn't now. The only time it's there, now, is when I have an image selected and there is a plus/minus that zooms the image in and out. I asked one of the Verizon guys when I was there for an android class and he couldn't come up with zoom 'buttons' on the store's Galaxy. Was I wrong and there never was a zoom for taking pictures?

While the Galaxy Tablet does not feature a zoom function to take pictures, you can find some applications that may resolve your need for a zoom function. A Google search with the keywords zoom in to take a picture on a Galaxy Table may help you find an  application to resolve your zoom function concerns.

  • Other means to charge the HP Touchpad tablet ?

Other than the flawed charger that we are provided by HP that has had numerous problems are there other ways we can try to charger the device ?  Also is the cord with the charger provided by HP a USB to microUSB ?   Heck is there even such a thing ?  Is this cord proprietary and thus we can't use anything else out there ?  Will a PS3 Controller cord work ?  It is looks like USB to microUSB.  Update:  It is not the same rrrrrr

    1. This forum is of a "peer to peer" design, aka "users helping users". I can't tell you what repairs were done.. Asking "HP" for a direct answer will yield no results. :-(
    2. You apparently know about a Touchstone. As you may have read in other posts, there was a bad batch of cables sent out by mistake. (I received one myself). That is probably what is wrong with your TouchPad (as long as it hasn't been damaged accidentally by dropping or yanking the cord out abruptly).. As I replied in another of your posts, they are a stock item in most computer stores, or HP has replaced them for other users.

  • Next is now, the Galaxy S6 edge review.

Every now and then, you come across something that makes you look twice, makes you wonder and stare. it doesn't happen often, but when it does, it grounds you.my last venture into the realm of Samsung phones ended with the Galaxy S3. since then i have had every Z class Xperia and long forgotten the Samsung way of running android.........So have Samsung by the looks of things.to call this phone a breath of fresh life is the biggest understatement anyone could make, this phone is Samsung redefined to its very core, this is Samsungs finest creation and its rebirth into the grown up android market, and oh boy is it packing some serious guns.powered by Samsungs 64bit octa-core Exynos powerhouse, partnered with Samsungs new über fast ram standard, and then slapped in a Sony IMX240 Image sensor, all pressed firmly behind a piece of 800 degree heated gorilla glass which is then pressed into a curved mold and then attached onto a super amoled 2k display which is then pressed on a single carved piece of top grade aluminum. it is mind blowingly unreal just how thin Samsung have managed to make this phone, and its so, so light.but on with the show....... That's ya boxand whats inside it (yes that's the xperia z4 wallpaper but it  goes soooo well). you alsoget a super quick charger (like stupidly quick) and a funky pair of headphones that sound OK (more on that later)Unboxed and ready for play.. and as you can see, none of this pre scratched nonsense.powering on the phone gives the usual android setup of around 5 minutes but also gives you the opportunity to select the exact Google backup to load, which apps to recover, and which password list to import, brilliant. you also have to add on another 5 minutes to setup your s voice commands, security and fingerprint recognition, all things considered, id rather do this on setup than muck around later on without a clue.  so, we've got it out the box, we've got it set up and now to get rid of touchwiz as soon as possible, but wait, this isn't touchwiz as I know it, this is nothing like the touchwiz I have on my tablet or how I remember it from days past. It's more refined, more in touch with Android stock than I ever expected. It's almost like samsung have taken EVERYTHING  from Galaxy and rewrote the rules. The touchwiz ui on the Galaxy S6 is actually quite good, I knew where everything was and what to do right off the mark, and even if I didn't like the look of it all, Samsung have a skinning app to offer different themes to the OS.  I also love the smart manager app, using software by clean master,  you can use this to give the phone a good clean out if needed.  Powerthis thing is fast, no forget that my old phone was fast, this thing is a new kind of crazy fast, on install  i did notice it lagging, i honestly did, of course at the time is was installing 120 apps from google and restoring my accounts and building caches. since then, not a single frame has dropped and not a single flicker of strain has shown. apps load in stupidly fast times and every single thing is reponsive in a way that is unseen by myself before. for the lolz lets benchmark it... and thats before everything has settled...  battery lifeno two days of battery life here, you want an honest review and youre gonna get one. the battery is good, im going to get a full day and thats what matters, even with Xperia Z3 i was at 30% at days end with my usage but with this i suspect itll be nearer empty. but.... i know and understand that to drive that cpu and to power that gpu to 2k will take a LOT of juice, so the fact i even get a day is amazing, kudos to sammy for that imo. ScreenOh my, (btw for those who believe you cant see a difference between 1080p and 2k on a 5" screen, please continue to the next section as you're about to lose the argument) the screen on this phone is un-frikkin-real its just so crisp, so vivid, so so nice. the difference between the ips panel of xperia and the amoled 2k display is like night and day, text is almost like its printed by laser onto the screen, there is no pixellation at all and when viewing media on the device its a real mind **bleep** at how realistic 2k videos look.  Screen (part 2)The edges. I read a lot before purchase on how the edges weren't as drastic as the note edge, or how they weren't as functional. This is not exactly true, there is a menu setting to adjust and activate various edge features, night clock, news feeds, weather, edge alerts and priority notifications can all be turned on and adjusted from within the menu. SoundSound quality is good, Samsung have really excelled when you consider it's a single speaker setup. Coming from front facing stereo I was worried on how bad the difference would be, it isn't,  it's loud, crisp and very good with its range. Basses are deep and miss and highs are well defined too. I was disappointed at the lack of audio options and control but, hey, it's Android baby, we have apps for that. I haven't really tried the odd freaky looking earphones that came with it yet but I'll update when i do. CameraWhere to begin, it's hard for me, I take lots of pictures, I know a bit about sensors, and I find it hard to come from the 20.7 mpix Xperia Z3 knowing full well that same camera is in the Z3+/Z4 ..... how did Sony get the software for their own cameras so badly written? The camera inside the S6 is so good it's freaky, it (imo) outperforms the z1/2/3/3+/4 in every field and way possible only excluding very low light, and that kinda hurts to admit that. Anyway the S6 edge is fitted with a  Sony IMX240 sensor with 16mpix images available in all modes including quick auto. There are loads of different modes and a dedicated app store to download new optimised modes for the camera. Video records at the following resolutions: 4k, 2k, 1080p 60,  1080p 30, 720 720 60,  720p 120 and vga 640. Image stabilisation is provided by using an ois system for images and ois+ extra stabilisation for video. Conclusion Samsung said they went back to the drawing board with S6,  and oh boy did they. Gone are the bloated forced samsung apps, gone is the marmite flavoured version of touchwiz, and in their place is a rock solid, powerhouse of luxury. It's been a long time since I felt this awestruck over a new phone, I had got comfortable with the norm, I had just let my complacency decide my way....... just as samsung did. But just like samsung , sometimes you've got to go back to the drawing board to get something great again. next is now.

As someone who spends a lot of time writing reviews (for vidya gaems ;P) I enjoyed your review. I am also looking at getting a new phone soon (I am saving up to buy out on refresh). I was considering th next iPhone but from reading your review I may consider this device instead. What I need to know is this. When the phone is in a phone holder which you have in a car for example does the screen get pressed at the sides? I don't wan't to open up Waze put my phone in a holder and it get cancelled out by what it thinks is a button press. Also, is the screen goign to be scratched easy? I am guessing there is no decent screen guards yet. I did buy some screen protection liquid that was recommended on these forums and my lumia still got scratched by about an inch or so.

  • How many hours needed to charge the new iPad when connected to the wall outlet.

How many hours needed to charge the new iPad wifi 16 gb?
Yesterday it was my first time to charge and it takes around 8 hours (it was not on wifi& not on working any application)
when connected to the wall power outlet using the supplied charger, dock and the USB wire.
I,ll be waiting for urs reply.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • How to compile a kernel or AOSP ROM for the Yoga Tablet 2 10?

    Hello!
I noticed the source code is available for the Yoga Tablet 2 10. But I don't understand how to use it to compile a full AOSP ROM + kernel for the Yoga Tablet 2 10.
I have experience with the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7, but developing for other devices seems to require a lot more work to setup your environment.
Does someone here have a clue on how to get started?

I managed to buy the Chinese bluetooth keyboard and case for the Android Yoga 2 Pro 13.3 inch for 16GBP on Amazon which is about 10 USD delivered and I'm pretty sure they were selling the 10 inch too. I'm, still waiting for it to appear from Hong Kong but I already bought the 10inch version for my Xoom and as long as you can stand the US keyboard it is a great case/keyboard. Detachable magnetic keyboard with 30 hour battery life on a 3 hour charge! Lenovo should team up with them.
EDIT It has now gone up to 26 GBP for the 10inch Yoga version.

  • Samsung Galaxy Tablet

Here's one for ya...went online to get myself a Galaxy Tablet when I was going  through the process, they wanted my DL# and my SS# well to my amazement I wondered why? Well I got a hold of Verizon customer service and they connected me will tele sales...OK no problem...I asked them why they needed my info again since I have been a loyal customer for so many years..The guy was polite and set me up with some accessories and really hooked me up and I told him I had started the process of getting a tablet online and he said he would take care of it for me...So far so good...Well I waited for my tablet and when Fed - Ex came which was around 1130 on a Friday morning,  I got two packages, it was two tablets..The one I started online and the one he set me up with and the two accessories. I had to find out which was which so I opened both of them, found the one I needed and boxed the other one up. Here's the problem I have with the tablet, couldn't get it hooked up to my Wi-Fi, first I thought it was my router but I have a laptop and a desktop and a wireless printer hooked up so it wasn't that, I spent a total of 7 hours trying to hook up the Wi-If to both tablets, and they were supposed to be   " Certified Pre-Owned " or so I thought , I went through several  tech support specialist even a Samsung rep and he wanted me to send the tablet to him, I'm thinking not so much, who knows when I would get it back so I called back to customer service with Verizon well,  needless to say they I didn't get anywhere, so both of the tablets are pieces of junk..and they were going to send out another certified pre-owned tablet and I told the lady on the other line don't worry about it and I was done with it and she seemed shock and surprised when I said this. It goes to show you, you get what you pay for and I shipped both of them back the next day, and that's my story about the Samsung Galaxy Tablet, In my opinion I think they are pieces of junk....To everybody out there who reads this I wouldn't waste my money on them.......

I'm having trouble setting up my tablet with WiFi at home. Seems like I had it working at one point about a month ago, but now it will not connect to my home WiFi. It lets me connect with my neighbor's open WiFi, but I'd really rather not use theirs when we have WiFi here at home. The WiFi shows an icon with 4 bars in blue, a greet padlock to the left and a black badlock over the blue bars. When I try to enter my password it still doesn't work. I'm wondering if there is a way to unlock it that I'm not aware of. Anyone have any idea on how to get this working?

  • Questions about the Galaxy Tab on Verizon

    Hello
Samsung is saying that the Galaxy Tab is comming to Verizonwireless soon. Rumors are sometime in November. I'm really excited about this product but I'm a little in the dark on some of the features and capabilties Verizonwireless will have for the Tablet when it is introduced.
Q1. Will I be able to use my Verizon cell phone number with the tablet to make and receive phone calls? If Verizon configures it for cell phone serivce, this device will be an iPad killer. Rumor has it that it is being offered in the UK with cell phoine service.
Q2. Will it be introduced on Verizons 4G network? May as well start off on the right foot. Again, this will be hugely popular with Verizon customers if it is.
Q3. When? My contract is up in December and I am looking for a device like this. When does Verizon plan to release the Galaxy Tab?
    Thanks
    JayT

  • How transfer photos to Samsong Galaxy Tablet?

I am running Photoshop Elements 11 on my PC using Windows 7.  How do I transfer photos in Albums or with Tags to my Samsong Galaxy 10.1 Tablet?  Thanks.

I can't remember offhand if the Android OS actually supports tags but there are more than a handful of ways of getting those images onto your tablet. Assuming you know where the actual images reside on your PC:
-via a USB cable connected to your tablet. (I could have sworn the Galaxy 10.1 had one.) Windows should start to recognize the tablet when it's connected, treating it like an external drive. You can then browse to your images and drag them on over to your tablet. To keep things tidy, you should place the images in the Pictures folder on the tablet. (This applies to any method.)
-via a cloud service like Dropbox. You install the Dropbox app on your PC and your tablet. Whenever you place an image in the specified Dropbox folder on your PC, it gets updated on your tablet, ready to download wirelessly in the Android app.
-via an Android app like Wi-Fi Explorer (or Wi-Fi Explorer PRO). How this works is you run Wi-Fi Explorer on your tablet, then connect your PC wirelessly via a Web browser and upload files/images from there through your Wi-Fi network.

  • My document will not upload to dropbox or google drive on my Samsung galaxy tablet. I am using Chrom

Any advise on how to save or upload documents to dropbox or googe drive on my Samsung Galaxy Tablet. It fails to upload everytime. I am using Chrome, would this have anything to do with it? Please help.

Currently, Adobe Reader for Android only supports uploading of documents to the cloud using Acrobat.com.

  • Why was I charged the activation fee?

I just joined Verizon this past weekend. We purchased 3 Samsung Galaxy S5's and The Edge 10gb plan. I was told by the CSR that there would not be any activation fees but I would see the sales tax of approx. $90 on my first bill. I was also told my bill would be $220 after discounts and taxes. I received my first bill at $493.10 yesterday.
#1 - Why was I charged the activation fees?
#2 - Why do your CSR's mislead your customers? I'm now being told that my monthly bill will be $267.00.
#3 - How can you allow the treatment of your customers to continue like this?

That so called tax seems kind of high? Activation fees are $35 not $30. There are upgrade fees of $30 for existing customers.
The first bill is pro rata of time used in advance and the days before the month in advance.
The cost of three devices on the edge plan are at least $25 a piece, which should be added in each month. So let's say your monthly plan costs are $160+tax+$75 for the three phones. Is $235+tax then it may be around $267 complete each month.
Never believe anything the service people tell you. Check your receipt and do not sign anything unless all you agree to is on it.
    Good Luck

  • Adobe flash player for sumsung galaxy tablet ?

Does adobe have a flash player for the samsung galaxy tablets ? if not will adobe be developing one soon ? as most websites require adobe flash player inorder to watch the videos online.

Your Galaxy uses the Android Operating System.
Adobe stopped ALL development of Flash for Android last year. (July 2012) That includes Kindle as well as Samsung Tablets.
This is from Samsung Support (07/31/2013):
"Beginning August 15, 2012 we will use the configuration settings in the Google Play Store to limit continued access to Flash Player updates to only those devices that have Flash Player already installed. Devices that do not have Flash Player already installed are increasingly likely to be incompatible with Flash Player and will no longer be able to install it from the Google Play Store after August 15th, 2012."
    And from Kindle Support (07/31/2013):
"The Amazon Silk web browser on Kindle Fire 1st Generation supports some, but not all, versions of Flash. Adobe Flash is pre-installed on a 1st Generation Kindle Fire and is disabled by default.
If you see a message to install Flash while using your Kindle Fire, this means that the content you're attempting to view uses Flash. If you want to view the content, you'll need to enable Flash through the Silk settings menu.
If a web page suffers from slow performance due to Flash, or you're unable to view a web page with Flash enabled, we recommend switching to mobile view when browsing a Flash-heavy website to see if that solves your problem:
Some popular websites may also have an app available. Check Amazon Appstore, accessible through the Apps library on your Kindle Fire, for availability.
The Amazon Silk web browser on Kindle Fire 2nd Generation, Kindle Fire HD 7", and Kindle Fire HD 8.9" doesn't support Flash.
Some sites use alternative web technologies to Flash in their mobile versions. We recommend switching to mobile view when browsing a website with Flash content to see if that solves your problem:
Some popular websites may also have an app available. Check Amazon Appstore, accessible through the Apps or Games library on your Kindle Fire, for availability."

There are older versions of Flash Player (for Android) at that link, but there are no guarantees any of them will work.

I've read a lot about "Dolphin" for Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser
I'm not an Android user (no tablet or phone) so I can't make any endorsements that would hold any credibility, but most of the Flash solutions I've read point to Dolphin as the best alternative.
Check the Android forums: http://androidforums.com/ to see what their "gurus" recommend.
