Charging the Touchpad in Europe.

I've been living in Germany since Jan and have been using a 220V-110V transformer to plug my  charger in to. Is that necessary or can I just use a plug adapter and plug directly in to a 220V wall socket. From looking at the writing on the plug, I suspect I can, but want to verify.
I don't want to fry my Tablet.
Thanks!

Yes. You will need the prongs for Germany AC outlets. I tried to search the HP Germany website and tried to find the prongs but my German is not up to par. I can understand some of the words but gave up the search due to my limited undrstanding of the language.
I even searched on the HP U.S. page but could not find the plugs. This may be due to it being the U.S. page and only has U.S based accessories.

  • How can I charge the battery on my US iPad and iPhone while in Europe?

I will be travelling to Ireland next month.  I would like to bring my iPad 2 and iPhone 5s, but am concerned about charging the battery in Europe due to the voltage difference.  Will the current charger work?  Do I need to use a voltage converter for these devices?

All Apple chargers work from 100-240VAC, 50-60Hz power. All you will need is a plug adapter for the country you are in.
You can use your iPad charger to charge your iPhone (also, it will charge it faster than the iPhone charger).
     Cheers, Tom
Have a great time on your trip.

  • If you are traveling in Europe, do you need both an adapter AND a voltage regulator to charge the IPad2 and the iphone? Or, the reverse, will it hurt either if I use both the adapter AND the voltage convertor?

You may only need adapters for the different kind of sockets, depending of the country you want to travel. A voltage converter is not needed.
The Apple power units are multi voltage devices, supporting a range from 110 V to 240 V. as you can see on the labels. O.K. for most of the labels you need a magnifier, but its on them.

  • Charger makes noise when using the touchpad

When I scroll (up-down-left-right) (2 or more fingers only) through the touchpad on my MacBook Air, while plugged-in to the charger, the charger makes a "scrolling" sound. It's so weird, not annoying, but weird.
Anyone had the same same thing?

it's like a chirping noise when scrubbing eg. youtube videos. could it be the video card problem? because of the multiple monitors?

  • Touchpad is charging but the touchpad doesnt turn on

MY TOUCHPAD WEBOS SHOWS THAT IT IS CHARGING BUT THE SCREEN NEVER TURNS ON.
IS THERE A RESET BUTTON THAT WILL TURN ON THE TOUCHPAD SCREEN?
tHE TOUCHPAD HAS ONLY BEEN USED ONE TIME.  dECIDED TO TRY USING IT AGAIN AND THE SCREEN WILL NOT TURN ON

    Touchpad or Slate?
Neither one is an android device.
Try a reset of the device.

  • Other means to charge the HP Touchpad tablet ?

Other than the flawed charger that we are provided by HP that has had numerous problems are there other ways we can try to charger the device ?  Also is the cord with the charger provided by HP a USB to microUSB ?   Heck is there even such a thing ?  Is this cord proprietary and thus we can't use anything else out there ?  Will a PS3 Controller cord work ?  It is looks like USB to microUSB.  Update:  It is not the same rrrrrr

DeViLzzz - some information and answers:
    1. This forum is of a "peer to peer" design, aka "users helping users". I can't tell you what repairs were done.. Asking "HP" for a direct answer will yield no results. :-(
    2. You apparently know about a Touchstone. As you may have read in other posts, there was a bad batch of cables sent out by mistake. (I received one myself). That is probably what is wrong with your TouchPad (as long as it hasn't been damaged accidentally by dropping or yanking the cord out abruptly).. As I replied in another of your posts, they are a stock item in most computer stores, or HP has replaced them for other users.

  • Scrollfunction from the touchpad on a Satellite A100-812 does not work

The scrollfunction of the touchpad (A100-812) does not work anymore.
Device should work perfectly says hardware check.

    Please, try the following:
Go to the drivers download page
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp
and download the latest touchpad drivers, then uninstall the old one (if possible, but its not necessary if you really dont know how) and then install the downloaded one.
Should work again after driver reinstall.

  • Charging hp touchpad

I have my Touch pad for about 2 years. Never had a problem charging it. Today when I tried to charge a picture of a battery with a question mark inside came on the screen. Any ideas

    Hi mapmodifier-123.
I found the support page for your touchpad and have included a link to the homepage for your reference. According the Solutions section, your touchpad may not be charging because of the USB cable:
You can connect your device to a computer using the USB cable. However, your device will charge at a very reduced rate, and if you are using your device, your device will likely be discharging because a USB port cannot supply enough power to charge a TouchPad. To charge your TouchPad, you must use the AC charger or the TouchStone (sold separately).
    I hope this helps.

  • Wall charger and travelling to Europe

I've got a 5G video ipod. I'm about to go to europe and need a wall charger to charge my ipod as i won't have a laptop with me to charge it via usb port.
With my old 2G ipod, the apple wall charger converted the 220V in Europe nicely . Should I purchase the apple branded wall charger to get the same benefit for the 5G? or do all the companies' chargers do the same (i.e. belkin, etc)

You would need to check the packaging or the manufacturer's website for any third party charger you get to be sure they will work internationally, a lot of them do. The Apple iPod charger works at voltages anywhere between 100 and 240 volts, so no other adaptor is needed. If you have a look on Amazon, you'll get lots of chargers including the Apple one: iPod chargers

Can I charge my Ipad in Europe without using a voltage converter?

Just spent 10 days in Ireland with our recently-purchased iPad and had no trouble charging it with the proper adaptor. NOTE: The UK uses a different adapter than continental Europe. Make sure you have the right adaptor for the counties you will visit. This article is helpful:

  • Satellite U400 - Is it possible to replace the touchpad button?

    Hello
I need help please. I want to know if there is a possible way to change the button at my Satellie U400 because they are getting soft and they are not as good and hard as it was before, so please anyone know's if I can remove those and put 2 new one's?
If you dont understand exactly what I mean take a look at the picture and you will see/understand.

    thank you.

    Hi Loow,
Im sure its possible to replace the touchpad buttons because you can replace everything on a notebook. But I think its a little bit tricky because you have to disassemble a lot of parts and thats not easy.
You should ask an authorized service provider The guys can order new spare part for you and exchange it. Just write an email for example to get in contact with them.
You can find a list of ASPs here:

  • What do I need to do to charge my iPad2 in Europe?

Do I need anything beyond an adapter to charge my iPad2 in Europe?

For anything you're taking with you, look on the charger and find the small print of the specs. As long as it says it accepts as an input '100v - 240v' then all you need is a plug adapter as the others have said. However if it says that it's rated for '100-120v' or something like that then dont' plug it in over there. Because your device will not handle their 220V standard.

  • My hp touch pad wont charge. the cord charges my phone but not the pad.

the usp port got bent and I wrapped the cord around the device to provide contact but now nothing.  any remedy?  is there another way to charge it?

If the port of the TouchPad won't allow for proper contact, your best option is to use a Touchstone charger.  Mine works great.  They are no longer available directly from HP, but check with third-party sellers like Amazon, eBay, or webOSNation.com
