CHARGING WHILE USING PC

Hi
its my hope that you're fine I  have one question about the personal computer that  is safe to charge  laptops while using it  then I would to the possible causes of battery deteorations how should I handle my laptop without causing damage to the battery

Hi,
It's perfectly fine to use your notebook while it's charging - charging is controlled by internal circuitry and will automatically finish when the battery is fully charged, regardless of whether you leave the AC Adapter plugged in or not.
Further information on your notebooks battery and how to care for it can be found on the following link.

my phone gets heat like ****, while charging, while using attending a call and playing games, can some one help me out of this?

Basics from the User Guide are restart, reset, restore.  Try each of these.  If they don't work, bring your phone into Apple for evaluation.

  • No charge while using GPS app...

I'm using the MotionX-GPS app on a iPhone 3G. On a 3 hour road trip recently, I connected the phone to the car charger cable and proceeded on my trip. I noticed that even though the phone was on the charge cord, the battery was still depleting at a good pace. It finally used up the phone battery about 1 hour into the trip, and I had to turn off the GPS function. To keep the phone display from turning off, I disabled the autolock function to force the screen display to be on all the time. Why wouldn't the phone maintain a battery charge while on the auto charge cord? Was the power drain more than the charger could keep up with? This problem keeps me from using my iPhone as a GPS nav device. On the trip back, I only used the GPS app as needed, and turned it off to let the phone charge back up.

Most likely the car adapter cannot supply enough power. There are two types of USB chargers, 1/2 amp and 1 amp. Computers generally supply only 1/2 amp, so this would be the likely problem if you connect to a computer USB port. If you are using a charger made for cars check its specs and make sure it can supply 1 amp at 5 volts.
    Added:
Another possibility is that the charger is defective. Do you see a "charging" indication on the phone (lightning bolt on the battery icon)?

BestWesTurn - I did not realize the above link was locked out and not available to all, it was submitted to the +User Tip Library+ back in October? Maybe there is a new link I am missing.
Try this alternative in the mean time before the above link goes public:

  • Random drop in battery charge while using plugged-in computer

    Hey everyone,
I bought my Macbook Pro a couple weeks ago and have generally used it while it is plugged in. Recently I've noticed that while I am using it, the battery charge will suddenly drop from 100% to around 50-60% and the MagSafe adapter will change from green to amber and begin charging the battery until it reaches 100% again. I calibrated the battery the day that I got it and I have never had a problem like this until now. CoconutBattery even says that my battery capacity is more than 100% of what it should be. Please let me know if this is something I should worry about!

I just noticed it happening again.
    very strange.
    AC Adapter connected and green
icon in menu bar shows AC is connected, not charging.
system profiler shows -1900 to -2500 mA
system profiler shows Fully Charged: No
    system profiler shows Charging: No
I am starting to suspect it's related to the ipad being connected, as that takes a good chunk of power to charge.
I wonder if what's happening is that that with everything powered up on the macbook (External display, external Firewire hard drive, USB keyboard, Screen lit up, iPad connected) if it's somehow exceeding the capacity of the magsafe 85W power supply.
    to test this out,
I've disconnected the ipad, firewire hard drive, and second display,
done a SMB and PRAM reset
and am charging the battery now.
after that I'll do a calibrate and try to avoid connecting things for the next few days to see what happens.

  • IPhone 5 cellular data charges while using wifi - Carrier AT&T

My iPhone 5 uses cellular data even when connected to wifi.i.  Although some periods show data usage while I was home asleep, other periods were while I was awake and using the wifi with another computer so I know my home network was working during this time.
When I contacted ATT support I was told that this type of data usage was normal when using wifi since the iPhone 5 was advanced and used data at all times, even when associated with wifi networks. The suggested fix was that I disable cellular data to avoid charges. This answer is unacceptable to me since it defeats the purpose of owning a smart phone in the first place .

If they are telling you it's supported, then take it to them for help Apple does not support it. They are NOT a supported carrier as far as Apple is concerned. They are NOT authorized to carry the iPhone. That doesn't mean it won't work, that means that Apple can't help you make it work. Talking to T-Mobile about how to get your phone working on an unsupported carrier is pointless. Talk to Metro PCS or go find a supported carrier... like T-Mobile.

  • 17" Macbook Pro (2011) battery drains or not charging while using intensive CPU

My brand new 17" MBP (August 2011) has a serious problem: Despite the AC adaptor is plugged in, the battery starts to drain (or is unable to charge if it is lower than 95%) when I ran intensive tasks (like rendering with After FX, convert videos with Compressor or start to play a videogame). I tested it and it happens under Mac OS X and Windows 7 (BootCamp).
I readed some user have the same problem with 15" & 17" MBP 2011 models. But I haven't found any solution.
Anyone knows if this is a hardware or software failure? Do I need to ask Apple for a new machine?
Any help will be welcome. Thanks.

Thanks Retired Engineer, but I don't think it's normal. Well, maybe it is "normal" (or by definition: common) in the 2011 MBP models, but it doesn't means that there is a problem with its design or hardware.
I have an "old" 15" MBP, which I bought in 2007, and since then it never happened to me that the computer is draining or unable to charge the battery while heavy processor intensive processes. I used the exact same softwares and processes in my new 2011 17" MBP, and then is when I detected the problem.
I read on some forums that this is a common issue with 2011 models. I don't know if Apple has an official answer about this or if there is a solution or workaround. Maybe they could simply shipped this machines with a more powerful AC adapter, able to deliver more than 85W, which seems to be not enough.
I will make further investigation about this, because I think it is a serious problem when it is presented in a computer labeled as "Pro", which I understand is designed to be under heavy usage.

  • Miix 2 11 Charging while using USB3.0 port

Is it possible? I've seen different posts here and on other sites with different models stating that you can plug a hub into the tablet and then plug the charger and other device into the hub. Doesn't seem possible, and I really don't want to blindly test it since it could destroy the unit, hub and charger. I don't know which ones use the 20V USB charger.
Has anyone played with the charger in combination with USB3.0 attached devices. Are there any site or links that show what's possible?
The goal is to dock this via USB multi-functional hub to multiple monitors and devices through one USB plug but still be able to keep the battery from draining during the day.

Limited user base for this tablet makes any experimenting more difficult. There are reviews but nothing which answer the questions and concerns of the owners.
The cable for the charger is special, it has 6 pins instead of standard 4 as it is with USB 2.0, the connector is yellow. Given the layout of the 2 additional pins it is proprietary connector of lenovo and its yellow to make sure its seen as different. Those 2 additional pins on each side which provide, I suspect, 20V are nowhere on any USB hub so there is no way to destroy any device which you use with this charging cable.
    Furthermore:
On the charger itself is following:
    OUTPUT:
    20V at 2A for Lenovo's Device
5,2V at 2A for Other Device
That means that the charger is safe to use for any 5V usb device as well as 20V lenovo devices.
What I dont know is if this tablet recieves 5V and 20V parallel from the charger. Probably not, but why would Lenovo use cable with 6 wires where only 2 are needed? third party cables and chargers are already available (usually with 2 pins only).
Unless the usb hub has all USB ports done by Lenovo's proprietary connector there is no way to pass 20V through the hub. IMHO. Would be nice though if (Hey you marketing team listen up!) Lenovo sells such usb Hub providing 20V and allowing USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 also) devices to be connected at the same time.
Suffice to say, using the only USB 3.0 port on the tablet for charging is stupidity (I know its patented but nothing beats MagSafe ) and bloody annoying for everyone. And NO, I didnt check that before I bought the tablet/laptop. Wish I did.
Also that frustrating throttling. What good is i5 with 1.6Ghz if it runs 1.6Ghz only if it is not needed. Once you need the power it goes down to 800-900Mhz???

  • Charged while using free wifi

if wifi is on and the icon is showing that you are using wifi why am i being charged from my data plan???? and this does not happen with ios 7. if this is fixed who pays the damage?

Install Firefox and the add-on called HTTPS Everywhere.
    https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
    https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere
What it will do is request a secure connection from every website you visit, if they comply, you get a encrytped session (Google does, Wikipeda and others).
If they can't provide a secure connection, then it automatically defaults to unencrypted.
That's about the best you can reasonably do on a open wifi, unless you want to go fancy and complicated virtual private newtorks and you need a account and a fee for that.
As you know, if you see "https" in the address bar, it's a encrypted connection that can't be read over wifi or enroute.

  • Possible to charge iPod while using Video out option?

I've read that you can use video out while maintaining its charge by simply 'ejecting' the iPod from Windows (but maintaining the physical cable connection).
But what about using a generic wall charger? Such as this one:
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009T81YE/qid=1146811575/sr=8-1/ref=pdbbs1/103-4014541-7815810?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=301185
Or even using apple's official wall charger? With one of these pieces of equipment is the iPod locked in "do not disconnect" mode? Or is it free to be used?
I hope someone can get back to me soon! Thanx
      Windows XP Pro

using the wall charger does not put up the "do not disconnect" screen. thats only wen its connected to a computer. so yes u can keep ur ipod on charge while using the video out.

  • Is it advisable to keep the mac connected to the plug as often as possible while using it? (to keep the battery at 100%)

Reading the advises on the battery (long) life it looks like the main parameter of interest for evaluating the battery performance are the cycle counts.
This also means there it is better to always keep the battery charged while using the mac in order to never let it discharge consuming cycles.
Is it really advisable? Aren't there some possible drawbacks in doing so?
(Risks due to higher temperature, risk of battery malfunctions..)
    Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to ASC!
In the ~15 years I've been lurking here, there seems to be one recurring theme to posts about battery failure: the statement "I don't understand why my battery died! I never use the computer on battery power!"
As OGELTHORPE points out, use the battery every so often. I try to get 1-2 cycles on mine per month. How you do it depends on your usage pattern. I use mine at a museum where I volunteer one a week and the battery has more than enough capacity to power my MBP through my shift.
Think of your battery in term of human muscles: if we do not exercise a muscle, it will atrophy and become disabled. So it is with your MBP battery.

  • Can I charge iPad 4 with my iPhone 4s charger but use iPad 4 USB cable

Can I charge my iPad 4 with iPhone 4s charger while using ipad4 USB cable

You can use the iPad charger to charge the iPhone, and it will charge the iPhone faster.

  • MacBook Alum battery heating up while being charged and used

MacBook Alum battery heating up while being charged and used at the same time.
Is this normal? Or is it only mine? :S

The battery itself as in the bottom left side of the notebook or the white magsafe adapter that is actually plugged in? Either way, it is supposed to get warm unless you are talking burning hot on fire. Then of course it is a little too warm.

  • Why can't I charge Iphone 4S while using blue tooth

When I go to charge my Iphone 4S in car while using blue tooth the sound stops.  What can i do to correct this?  Or is that jus the way it is.

Requires the support of Bluetooth Profile A2DP, that's why. Your phone supports such, but it appears your hearing aids do not.

  • New MacBook Pro Will Not Charge While in Use

I'm not sure if this is an issue, however, I have been unable to find more information regarding this, so I thought I'd ask. While plugged in (MagSafe LED=Orange) the computer hovers around the same percentage of charge (i.e. +/-2%), even with very low to no use, and every once in a while says (Not Charging). However, when in sleep with the deck shut, it charges promptly as it should.
I've occasionally seen it charge slightly while in use while using the plug without the extension portion, however I am unsure if this is related. I have tried resetting the SMC, restart, etc. So my question simply is, is this an issue, or is the computer specified not to charge while open?
    Thanks!

As eww indicated, it may be a fault with the charger. The reason for my question was because you can use the 60 watt charger that comes with the 13" model on the 15" model (which comes with an 85 watt charger), but... it will only provide enough power to operate the 15" model while in use... it does not provide enough power to both operate the machine while charging it. It will only charge with the machine shut down. Your symptoms sounded very similar... but as you're using the correct charge, it may just be a bum charger. These types of things tend to fail early on if they're going to fail at all. With it only being a few weeks old, that would also seem to make it more likely to be a faulty charger. Apple tends to be very good with these things. If you have an Apple store nearby, set up a Genius appointment online. There's a good chance they'll just replace the charger for you. It's a good to bring it in though so they can check it out for you just in case the problem is with the charging circuitry in your Mac and not the charger.
