ChaRM actions reset for developer

Hi I am configuring ChaRM workflow.
For the devloper I have not done any changes in the actions, whereas whenever I 'create transport request' through developer's actions after that the available actions are again back to the old one i.e. 'Set to in development' and 'Cancel Procedure'.
Any pointer to the possible problem.
Regards,
Smita

Hi Smita,
did you look to the following note :
Note 919477 - Normal correction reset to status "created"
Is it the same problem ?

Stéphane.

  • Disable password reset for developer users

I want to disable the capability for developers to reset their passwords. Is there anyway to do that?

Hi Eugene - What do you mean by "reset" ? Do you want to prevent developers from changing their password either from the current value to a new value, from the current value to the same value, or to prevent them from doing either? And why? What about the "Reset Password" feature on the login page? That actually performs what I'd call a reset.

  • Not able to release normal change document for development

    Hello All
We have Implemented ChaRM in SolMan 7.1 SP10
Have created the Project and activated Charm with required DEV/QA/PRD logical component and before creating the Maintenance cycle, we did a check in the project which showed all green..
We are able to create a request for Change and go till the approval, when we try to change the status to release for development, it is throwing the below error and not letting us go further.
We have checked the MC phase, and it is in phase Dev with release.
Project is in IN PROCESS state.
IBASE and Component details are correct.
Tried to put back to Validation and re tried for Development and this did not work.
Until unless change document created successfully, we cannot go ahead even though MC phase is in DEV with release.
I have seen few blogs and I have checked below steps
    system roles in SMSY
    Landscape system info
Changed MC phase to DEV with release
Strange why it is not allowing to create change document ???
    Please assist
    Thanks
    Sateesh.

    Hello,
Three consistency checks are performed when you choose action "release for development" (resulting in the SMCR's status "being implemented"):
    PROJECT_ASSIGNED: Project is Assigned
SYSTEM_EXIST: System assigned to collective change request
FOLLOW_ON_GEN_OK: Change Documents Can be Created
In case any of these checks fails, the SMCR's status returns to "approved".
These same consistency check are also checked when the SMCR status is set to "approved". The behavior for a failed check, however, is different in this case. Just a warning message is shown on the top of the screen and the "approved" status can be set.
Question 1: When you set the SMCR to "approved", those warnings are shown too?
Perhaps there is something wrong with the assigned project.
Check if the assigned logical component has the correct systems/clients.
Check if the transport tracks between the systems listed in the logical component are working.
Question 2: When you assign the scope (change type, in your case, Normal Change), some system data from the production system defined in the logical component are automatically filled (System, Client, Configuration Item, etc). Is this happening?

  • Configure "reset" for all default signatures

    Hi all,
When I update signature (all default signature by Cisco), I want to configure "action: reset" for all default signatures (all default signatures that are turned on) . If you know how to do that, please answer me.
    Thank you very much.
    Duy Khang

Do you mean after each sig update? You can go into the sig configuration and do a "select by" release. you will get a drop-down box of releases, select the appropriate release. You can then sort by enabled. select multiple sigs at a time by using the shift key. now click the actions button to change multiple sigs at once.

  • CHARM activation check failing on "consolidation system for development system SSA-200 in project ZTEST2

    Hello,
We are implementing Charmlite and want to activate in project landscape.
We are Solution Manager 7.1 SP11 and testing this scenario in sandbox.
    Steps completed:
    1. in sandbox domain controller, created two virtual systems and made 3 system landscape, where, I can release the transport and see it in QA system (Virtual system buffer)
    2. The LMDB has been updated with Virtual system and in SMSY, the entries of virtual system shows up. The logical components have the client information.
    Issue:
in /nsolar_project_admin ->System landscape -> change management, When consistency check is performed, we get error message saying
Virtual RFC is miising (I am guessing, it should be okay)
The logical component is incosistent (This might be the reason the CHARM is not getting activated.
"No consolidation system for development system SSA-200 in project ZTEST2
No track for project ZTEST2 with log. system SSA/200"
For me, when i look in satellite system, the consolidation system is a virtual system and it should be fine.
    Please advise
    Regards,
    Durga PK Saitana

Thank you Karthik. Still the problem persists
I went through the blog earlier. I created l ABAP instance manually in SLD and moved into LMDB and can see the entry in SMSY. (I did not see any option of putting  virtual flag)
We were trying harmonization of RFC from note 1384598 and since we had virtual systems, went with domain links.
After domain links, the virtual systems are read. the Dev ABAP system is not able to find the consolidated system. In the satellite system, I can release transport and move the transport.
Not sure, why this issue is persistent.

  • ChaRM transport route, one development, 2 QA, 2 PRD system landscape

    Hello,
We have a customer who has an ERP system with a transport route which is the following:
One single Development system which feeds, 2 QA systems and then 2 PRD systems.
We are to implement ChaRM and we want to customize the tickets so that every time you execute the import action of a transport request into QA (and later into PRD) both systems QA1 and QA2 are updated and later on with PR1 and PR2.
We would like to know how to support this scenario in Solution Manager using ChaRM.  How do we set up the logical component at SAP, how we define the transport route and layers, and how we define the actions in the SDHF ticket.
    I appreciate your help.
    Regards
    Esteban

    Hello,
We set up a testing environment for change request management. In a solution manager we created five clients.  One single development which feeds two quality systems, and final two production system.  As it was said in the thread we used transport groups in the transport route.  The development system feeds this transport group which feed to import queus in quality systems.  We tested this transport route and transports worked well and arrives into both production 1 and production 2 systems.
Then created a logical component for that landscape, with five sytems.  Then we created a maintenance project using that logical component.  We created a maintenance cycle and then a task list was created which shows two delivery system, and the two productive  systems.  All the groups have the right actions.
However when we created a SDHF correction the system creates the task list only for 3 systems, not for the five of them.
we see that only action groups are created for development, quality 1, and production 1.  No entries for quality 2 and production 2
We try to run the action which is in the general part of the task list to execute the import in multiple systems, it cames out with the correct selection of importing in quality 2 system because it is the transport group.  However an error is raised saying that the actions for  quality 2 are not there in the task list which is true.  Finally, as short term solution, we were able to import into quality 2 and later on pr1 but done manually in the stms transactions which is not what we want to do.

  • How to change default action "alarm" for all signatures ?

My question belongs to a Cisco 1712 (128 MB, IOS 12.3T, SDM 2.5 installed):
I'm trying to change the default action "alarm" to "alarm, reset, drop" for all signatures of my custom set.
However doing so via SDM fails. First, it appears as being done correctly, but after compiling the signatures again, the default values are back there (in the same sense, I was unable to delete signatures, works just using the CLI).
I followed the instructions at cisco.com:
    router(config)#ip ips signature-definition
    router(config-sigdef)#signature 6130 10
    router(config-sigdef-sig)#engine
    router(config-sigdef-sig-engine)#event-action produce-alert
    router(config-sigdef-sig-engine)#event-action deny-packet-inline
    router(config-sigdef-sig-engine)#event-action reset-tcp-connection
    router(config-sigdef-sig-engine)#exit
However ip ips signature-definition is not understood by the router, so the procedure fails.
Can you please assist me ?

You can use IOS command-line interface (CLI) to change signature actions for one signature or a group of signatures based on signature categories. The following example shows how to change signature action to alert, drop and reset for signature 6130 with subsig ID of 10.
    router#configure terminal
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
    router(config)#ip ips signature-definition
    router(config-sigdef)#signature 6130 10
    router(config-sigdef-sig)#engine
    router(config-sigdef-sig-engine)#event-action produce-alert
    router(config-sigdef-sig-engine)#event-action deny-packet-inline
    router(config-sigdef-sig-engine)#event-action reset-tcp-connection
    router(config-sigdef-sig-engine)#exit
    router(config-sigdef-sig)#exit
    router(config-sigdef)#exit
Do you want to accept these changes? [confirm]y
    router(config)#

  • Good References for developing in Landscape Mode?

Just wondering if there's a portion of the Programming guide, or if there are any good sample apps or sites out there with tips and best practices for developing apps with landscape views?
Googling and searching based on "horizontal or landscape view" doesn't seem to narrow it to quite what I"m looking for.
Specifically, I have an tab bar app that is mostly portrait, but I want the user to be able to enter a view that is landscape. (whether by button push, or rotating when in a particular view)...I'm hoping for my landscape view to essentially be independent of the rest of the app (i.e. no tab bar, specific actions, graphics, etc...)
Anyways, just looking for some good starting points for this if there are any recommendations....

  • How to create save actions in SQL Developer 1.5?

    Hi,
I am trying to create a save action in SQL Developer, which shall execute "an external tool" I already added.
I choose "Code-Editor" -> "save actions". I want to add an action, but there are 3 predefined actions and there is no possibility for me to add another. Is there a way for me to add a save action, as it is possible in eclipse?
What I am trying to do is, I want to trigger an external sql formatter. The sql formatter, which is built in, doesn't fit my needs and the way I can configure it, is very sparse. Therefore I want to use an external tool do to this - and I want it to be executed after saving the document.
    Greetings,

Right click on the table and select "Export Data": default format is INSERT statement.

I need to know how many and which UME action are required for deploying the application in CE 7.11

If I remove this "Administrator" UME role, an error message is thrown as...
    com.sap.ide.eclipse.deployer.api.APIException: DeployException,cause=ERROR CODE DPL.DCAPI.1023AuthorizationException
This "Administrator" UME role has some 2978 UME Actions assigned to it.
For the UME role "Administrator", inside the assigned UME actions, I have tried filtering the UME Actions based on the filter keyword "deploy", which returned some 14 UME actions.
Now, I have made following Test case and result.
    Test Case:
    1) Remove the Administrator Role from the ID that is used for deployement.
    2) Now Assign all the above 14 UME actions that were found related to "deploy" keyword to a Custom UME role "DeployRole".
    3) Deploy using the same id.
Result : Deployement fails with the same above mentioned error.
Conclusion: There can be 2 possible conclusions...
    1) None of the above 14 UME actions provide the authorization for the deployment.
    2) OR There are some other UME actions which might have some dependecies that are required along with the suspected UME actions.
In short my requirement here is, to find out the specific UME actions that are required for deployment, so that i can remove the "Administrator" UME role and assign the specific UME actions needed for deployment to a my Custom UME role, and assign this Custom UME role to the user ID for deployment.

    Hey Nghia Nguyen...!
Thanks a lot for your reply, i have rewarded you the points.
I have found out that for deployment following UME actions are required.
    dc_action (Mandatory)
    auth.all.all (Mandatory)
deploy_action (Not Mandatory)--> if you remove this deploy_action UME action the deployment will still work, but in developer studio, the Deploy result dialog box with OK button, that pops every time after you deploy your project by right clicking your application and choosing "Deploy new Archive and Run" will cease to appear and the application will directly run in the browser.

You are on the right track.
Implement a diaolgListener for the dialog. It'll be called when you click the ok button of the dialog. delete the record from the listener. If the user clicks the cancel button, the dialog just closes without giving you any event. This is OKif you just want to cancel the deletion of the record (no rollback needed, just abort the action). If you need more control over the process use a panelWindow inside a popup. There you can use the normal action listeners for buttons.

  • Different disk space alarms for development machines vs. production machines

In vCOps 5.8 I used attribute packages to differentiate between production and development machines on alerting and monitoring for disk space alarms.  So if a production machine reached 95% utilization on a drive it would generate an alarm.  I set this up in an attributed package and assigned it to production machines.  I had a different attribute package assigned to development machines that would not create an alarm.  So when a production machine exceeded the 95% threshold I would get an email indicating I needed to take action.  I also had some different attribute packages assigned to some production machines that have chronically high disk space usage, but never reach the 100% utilization.  These wouldn't alarm at the 95% threshold but maybe at the 99% threshold.  In vROps I seem to have lost this ability which I'm not thrilled about.  It doesn't appear that you can set different monitoring thresholds for different machines.  So now after migrating to vROps I get alarms for development machines.  Is there anyway to setup different monitoring thresholds for different machines.  I know I could just put a development machine into permanent maintenance mode, but that doesn't really help me out with the ability to set different thresholds for production machines.

    Hi, rgcda.
    > Are you saying that I need to create new symptom definitions that I want to assign to development machines and then enable them in this specific policy in the Override Alert / Symptom Definitions?
When you define a symptom that triggers over 95% of disk space usage, the default threshold value of the symptom will be 95.
But if you want different threshold value of 99% for your development machines group with the same symptom definition,
you don't have to define another duplicated symptom but just override(modify) the threshold value of original symptom to 99 in the policy edit screen.
In other words, single symptom definition can have different threshold values in each policy.
    > Also for alert notifications would I have to create a new alert definition and enable it in is this specific policy?
Nope, you do not have to create a new alert in this case.
If a symptom threshold value changes via policy override, alerts which have that symptom will fire at different threshold value accordingly.
    > If I would have different symptom definitions for the same object are you saying I have to make the change in the KB you mentioned?
For instance if I want the C drive to be a critical alarm when it reaches 95% on this machine and a critical when it reached 99% on a different machine.
Nope, as you see in the above example, applying different threshold value to each machine can be done regardless of the metric you use is instanced or not.
The KB is about treating a metric that has many instances for a machine and you may need it for disk space usage.

  • Setuping BlackBerry Dev Alpha for development

    Hello,
at first I did not know where to put this, since developer support forums are more code oriented, so I choose this forum, I hope it is okay, otherwise please move it to correct forum.
I am trying to setup BlackBerry Dev Alpha device for development on my workstation. I am running Windows 8 Pro x64, freshly installed and I installed latest BlackBerry Development Kit and BlackBerry Device Manager. The Alpha device was updated to the latest version. Now I am having trouble connecting to the device in the IDE.
My question is, why my PC cannot connect ot BlackBerry Dev Alpha device? IDE displays Unable to connect. Check USB cable or WiFi connection.
    The following facts are true:
    - Device is connected with normal MicroUSB cable without hubs
    - Device is detected in BlackBerry Device Manager and IP is displayed
    - Development mode is on, password is set
    - IP of  the device is 169.254.1.1, set in development mode screen (tried also another IP, no effect)
    - Target in Momentics is created manually (autodiscover does not work)
    - Windows Firewall is OFF
    - Pinging the device IP in command prompt returns no reply
Is there something wrong with the device? Considering I cannot run camera, I might have received bad device.
    Best Regards,
    Legoless

    I got same sometime.

    3.  Remove all unknow device.
4,  unplug USB Cable and re-plug again
    5.  try detect hardware by scan hardware,
6, If device not complete ,  Try force install device driver for new hardware that you computer found.

  • Installing OS X iPhone for developing, necessary? If so where to download?

    According to documentation here:
    http://developer.apple.com/iphone/manage/devices/howto.action
It says "To run your code on an Apple device, you will need to install OS X iPhone onto each development device and "restore" each device to a development state."
"1 Download the OS X iPhone Disk Image (.dmg) from the iPhone Dev Center for the Apple device you are using.
2 Connect your device to your Mac, close iTunes and launch Xcode.
3 Once the device is detected by Xcode, select ‘Use for Development’ when prompted."
My questions are is this step necessary? If so, where can I download the OS X iPhone that is supposed to be available at the iPhone Dev Center?
    Thanks,
    Fred

So after some more experimentation, I did discover that the the iPhone 2.0 software is installed automatically through iTunes. This step is not required. The problem I was having after a fresh install of the latest iPhone SDK (and uninstalled via the scripts included in Beta SDK's) was the following message after setting up all my signatures in KeyChain:
"Your mobile device has encountered an unexpected error (0xE8000001) during the install phase: Verifying application"
I found that the way to fix this is right-clicking on the Targets->MyApplicationName and then in the Properties dialog setting the identifier for my App Id associated with my Provisioning Profile.
    Hope that helps someone
