ChaRM Config Scenario.

Hi All
I have some confusion regarding ChaRM scenario configuration. Can we configure multiple logical components(transport landscape ) into one project and one maintenance cycle? Here is more explanation of my question. We have configured ECC in project A and maintenance cycle 001. Can we configure BW transport in same Project A and maintenance cycle 001?
Please respond.
Thanks in advance.

Yes you can
To be more clear in real time sceanario we have more than one server involved for eg. we can a business process covering CRM BI ECC so you will have 3 systems for this you can create one project and TMS needs to be configured for all the 3 system or landscape to solman as per recommendation from SAP.
Now you can create one project and activate a maintenance cycle for the same.
Note:
One maintenance cycle can be opened for one maintenance project but it can have Mulitiple maintenance landscape or system assigned to it with corresponding transport route.
Hope I clarified your doubt

• Problems with different charm correction scenarios (UC)

Hi!
We tested some ugent-correction scenario.
Scenario 1:
In our scenario we have a development which was imported in QA with RC=8.
Then we went back to development and crated a second transport request in which we did correct the error.
While importing the second time both transport request have been imported in QA.
But unfortunately the development was not activated with the new version in QA.
We do find the old version activated in QA and in version history the new modif has been there, but not activated.
Why does the activation not have been done automatically in QA?
Scenario 2:
We do have some developments which normally should be imported with "unconditional mode".
How can we do that with ugent-corrections within charm?
Scenario 3:
Transport is imported in QA.
How can I reimport the transport request again?
Thanks for your help in advance.

Hello Alexander,
the answer to Scenario 1 is probaly not really related to Change Req Management, please try to import these 2 transports using STMS in the satellite system, you will probably get the same result.
Scenario 2: We assign the change document (UC) to an IT operator, which is executing the import it manually and the reassign the document back to the Tester/Developer.

• ChaRM config - system check error

Hi All ,
I am working with the basis team to move forward with ChaRM - Solution Manager. We have a two system landscape with Development (DSM) and Production (PSM) (domain is set up as DOMAIN_DSM - exists in STMS).
We have most of the configuration / system landscapes done . When we do the ChaRM check ( solar_project_admin--> select project --> system lanscape --> Change request --> check) for a project that involves system (DBW - BW Development and a different transport domain DOMAIN_DBW , does not exist in STMS for DSM) it comes up with a system error saying - No domain for system DBW.
It seems to be checking the tabel TMSCSYS for systems DBW and when it does not find it there it complains. The question is do we have to set up these system in STMS in solution manager ?
any help would be appreciated . if you want to send me a doc please do it at amohamm at yahoo
thanks.
ali.

The problem was solved by activating the domain links for the multiple domain scenario . Please make sure that you carry out this activity - " You must perform all TMS activities in your satellite systems and not in your SAP Solution Manager system " .

• Short Leave Config scenario

Hello Experts,
I have an issue regarding Short Leave[Paid] configuration. My actual scenario is, i have to deduct salary of half day on Short leave if it goes up on 3 leaves in a month. In detail, If an employee comes late 3 times in a month then, its half day salary should be deducted.
I have Created Short leave[Paid] and made whole config as normal Leave. but i need above scenario to be mapped So, plz can any one help me, how to map it..?
-jagdish

Hi,
Another workaround - This can be possible by employing the condition in the User Exit. The User exit should fetch the condition
For BUKRS = " Company Name" or For Personnel Area - WEKRS
A) For BEGDA =01.01.XXXX & ENDDA = 31.12.XXXX
If SATZA (P10 - Infotyp 2011) > SOBEG (IT 0007 - Planned Working Time)
OR
If SATZA - SOBEG <> IS NOT EQUAL TO ZERO, more than three times in the month
System should throw an error.
The exit will end there without checking further entries
SATZA - Field which captures Clock In Entry
SOBEG - Field which stores Planned Working Time - ( Pls chk your scenario-- If its flexitime then this field will differ. )
Assuming the scenario is positive Time Management.
Hope this should work

• 3x Cisco 1252 Wap Config/Scenario

Hi Everyone,
I have the chance to acquire quite a few Cisco 1252 LWAP's. I know it's possible to convert them to standalone AP's, so that's no issue.. Except maybe getting access to the IOS image?
Hoping I could use them in the following scenario. I work on special events & concert tours in large arenas & venues. I'd like to setup 3 of these units to work together to cover the venue. 1 at the back of the room where the audio console would normally be & the other two either side of the stage. There would only ever be 1 or 2 clients which are the tablets that control the audio systems DSP.
Is it possible to use them in standalone mode, all on the same SSID but on Ch 1, 6, 11? How does this work in the 'N' range?
We have a consistent issue that a single AP (older Cisco 1100) works fine with an empty arena, but stops working as soon as the room fills with people & there cell phones.
All your help would be greatly appreciated!

• ChaRM config with two dev clients

Hi Experts,
Has anyone tried ChaRM with two dev clients, one for customizing and one for workbench, is it like adding two QA/prod systems?
Please help.
Thanks and Regards,
Jamuna Nithyanandam

Hi Jamuna,
Like already mentioned, maintain 2 logical components in SMSY with the correct systems, and add these logical components to your Project.
When in a Change Document (U.rgent or Normal Correction), the action 'Create Transport Request' is executed, a pop-up will be shown and people can select where they want to have the Transport created.
Of course, SolMan will always show the two options - Workbench or Customizing Transport - when creating the Transport Request. So people need to pay attention that there are only creating WRKB in the WRKB-client and CUSTO in the CUSTO-client. As far as I know, this cannot be limited technically in SolMan.
Good luck!
Best regards,
Roel

• ChaRM config with Single domain

Hi Guru's,
I am in situation where I have to configure Change request Management with Single Domain Controller in Solution Manager 7.1 SP11.

• What are criterias to create Config. Scenarios and Comm Channels?

Suppose we have 10 interfaces of same kind - file to file , some of them are inbound some of them are outbound relatively to R/3.
Suppose also we have 15 File to Rfc , 5 rfc's to File .All they are interfaces communicating with external partners(that are not on our landscape)
I have few questions regarding the config in ID.
1. In the case above - what would be the criteria to create new Configuration Scenarios, how many are needed ?
2.Is it right to create Config Scenario for each Interface ?Or os it right to create all same kind if (e.g. file to file) under one Config Scenario?
3. what would be the criteria to create Communication Channels, how many are needed ?
4.Is it right approach to create 2 separate Comm channels recv/send for each separate interface?Or may be I can Reuse some communication channels from another already created interfaces - true or not?
I will appreciate your fast reply and also if you know what is the best practice..
Thanks !
Jon

Hi jon,
For the 15 File to RFC scenario u can have a Generic scenario to pick up the file and route it to the respective other scenario i.e design one common generic interface to poll the file and route it to 15 other scenario this reduces u to have onle one CC instead to have 15 communication channels and 15 receiver determinations from the file sender.
Have a look at this Blog.. <a href="/people/sravya.talanki2/blog/2005/08/16/configuring-generic-sender-file-cc-adapter Generic Sender File CC Adapter By Sravya Talanki
also read thru the comments of this blog to get the clear picture...
also look at my wiki... Single Sender File CC 4 Multiple Directories

• Charm configuration in solman 4.0 SP14

Hello Gurus,
I have to do Charm (Change Request Management) configuration in my landscape of
SED-- SEQ,STQ-- STP.
Solman - STM
Can anyone of you please provide me step by step detail for this.
Thanks in advance
Jain Pankaj

I am doing Charm configuration
i am using Dolores Correa's Blog
/people/dolores.correa/blog/2008/07/26/first-steps-to-work-with-change-request-management-scenario
Landscape i am using for Charm config.
SED:030 -
> SEQ/275 -
STP/275 ,Domain Controller is STP ( DOMAIN_SED)
Solman --- STM:100 , Solman is in the same domain,Domain Controller is STP ( DOMAIN_SED)
My doubts :
Spro- Solution manager- Configuration u2013 Senario Specific Settings Change Management-Transport Management System-> Generate RFC connection to 000
Question 1- This RFC has to be genrated from solman STM:100 to Domain Controler (STP/000) ?
or STM:100 to all systems ( SED:000 , SEQ:000 ) in my landscape ?
Spro- Solution manager- Configuration u2013 Senario Specific Settings Change Management-Transport Management System-> Add Import Authorization to Operator/Administrator
i. Make sure that the operator and administrator users in client 000 of the target systems have the same name as their user in the Solution Manager system.
ii. Assign import authorization to the operator and administrator users in client 000 of the target systems (SAP_CHANGEMAN_OPERATOR and SAP_CHANGEMAN_ADMIN roles).
Question 2. what is operator or administrator user
is that my user ex. PJAIN ( the one who is configuring Charm ) or any other user ?
Spro- Solution manager- Configuration u2013 Senario Specific Settings Change Management-Transport Management System->Set Project Assignment of Requests as Mandatory
TMWFLOW/CMSCONF --->Check the entries in the Proj. Assignment column
System of Proj Project Assigmnet
SED :030 optional
if i change this to "mandatory"
Question 3 will this avoid users creating transport orders directly in dev system ( SED:030) ??
as users are workin in dev system , and if i change this to madatory user wont b able to create change request in dev system ( SED:030 ) till the time configuration of Charm gets over by me ,
and if i stuck in some error during charm configuration , no user wil be able to create change request in SED:030 ??
Please advice

• ChaRM 7.1 Unable to switch phase to completed

Hi,
I have setup a basic charm config on solman 7.1.
I created a rfc in the CRM Web UI and initially did not specify the iBase component nor a BP as requester.
All went well untill i tried to switch the phase from being completed to completed.
I get an error "Phase transition from FINAL_TASKS to CLOSED is not possible" and when I look in the details I get a message:
Diagnosis
An error occurred when the phase was moved.
Procedure
Possible cause:
The business partner in the managed system is not maintained
Procedure:
Call transaction "crm_dno_monitor" and check the CRM document via the transaction number. If no business partner is maintained, the document displays a message informing you of this fact.
However, when I look in the Web UI i don't see a possibility to fill a bp.
When I want to enter it in tx CRMD_ORDER, I get a message:
Transaction Type SMMN (Maintenance Cycle) should be maintained in the CRM Web UI only
So I have a feeling I'm stuck.
Any help would be nice!
Regards,
David

Hi,
check the question number 9, in this blog, check will that match over yours
Change Request Management scenario: Usual questions and known errors -> Completing inconsistent task lists (note 933705)
It is applciable in 7.1 ALSO, Do check the note Note 933986 - Phase transition not possible more .

• ChaRM:Logical Components for Projects

Hi Experts,
I have done ChaRM config and i am about to create logical components for the project Project.
I have below two questions please help.
While creating a logical component when i have multiple clients in DEV, QAS and PRD how to proceed and second question is about RFC Users in satellite systems.
1) My ECC landscape have DEV ->100, 200, 300, 400, QAS-> 100, 200, 300, PRD-> 100, 200 with multiple clients.
So while creating logical component do i need mention all clients in the logical component or its enough if i mention DEV->100, QAS->100, PRD->100 ?
If i mention only one client in logical component how transports will move to other clients in DEV, QAS and PRD. Please help.
2) Second question is do we need to create READ, TMW, back rfc users in all clients for DEV, QAS and PRD for above ECC landscape ?
Please help for above question.
Regards
Latha

Hi,
So while creating logical component do i need mention all clients in the logical component or its enough if i mention DEV->100, QAS->100, PRD->100 ?
Yes, you can have this TMS track defined and use SCC1 for performing imports within the system (like QAS 100 to QAS 200 ). Or use the Tranport Target Group option so that your TR is visible in import queue of all system. More info Extended Transport Control (SAP Library - BC Change and Transport Organizer)
2) Second question is do we need to create READ, TMW, back rfc users in all clients for DEV, QAS and PRD for above ECC landscape ?
Yes, you need RFCs b/w your working client (100 ) and 000 client of domain controller. Not for all clients.

Vivek

• CHARM + WILY Interoscope + qRFC in Solution Manager 4.0

Hi Folks,
Please clear the below mentioned doubts:
1. Can CTS + workflow without CHARM config in solution manager can solve any purpose, if yes then let me know how?
2. How to configure WILY Interocope?
3. How to configure qRFC in solution manager to monitors the qRFC of ECC, XI, SCM system and what are limitation of this.
4. If I have to move the transport request where I am having 4-5 landcape using domain link, so what are the steps.
Document with appropiate reply would be rewarded.
Email: [email protected]
Thanks!!!!!!!

I have a question regarding the organization of Solutions in Solution Manager.
First, I have 3 solution manager boxes
1 Sandbox
2 Dev
3 Prod
In sandbox, I have a sandbox 'solution' that contains all sandboxes
In dev, I have no 'solution'
In production, I have all dev through production boxes lumped into one 'solution'.
I was thinking that maybe I should break up the solution in Production to have only prod boxes, and then build one in dev that contains dev and qa boxes.
My question is that when I configure CHARM to manager transports, will that work to separate DEV/QA from Prod OR will I need all the dev, qa, prod boxes in one 'solution' since that is how transports flow??

• ChaRM Transport Consistency

Dear Experts,
I have a questions that is related to the transport consistency with ChaRM. Scenario:
1. I create a change at an object X using a normal correction and transport it to the QAS system via the maintenance cycle functionality
2. Now I make another change to the same object X using an urgent correction and transport it to QAS and PROD quickly
3. After the maintenance cycle is updated again, the normal correction is imported to PROD and overwrites the urgent correction again (?) ! This would revert the urgent correction!
Is there a functionality that controls these inconsistencies?
Thanks for all answers!
Regards,
Marc

Hi Marc,
This will depend on how you have customized your maintenance cycle. When you've customized your own variant for the tasklist associated to your cyle or use the correct standard one (SAP0 not SAP1), make sur that you've selected the option Transport Request remains in import buffer after import.
By choosing this, your transport requests associated to urgent correction will stay in import queue after being imported in QA. This means that when you will import the project the import sequence will be preserved and no regression will occur.
Hope this explaination will help you.
Best regards,
Stéphane.
