Charm distribution routes,

I am in the phase of configuring CHARM on Solman 4.0 with sp level 11. I have done the basic settings like Tms configuration, creating domain links, generationg rfc and smsy configurration and also i checked the configuration by running the transcation /TMWFLOW/CHARMCHK. its showing everything green.
I also checked the same in solar_project_admin, -- system landscape>change request tab>check consistensy its also displaying the same.
I dont know what is my next step in this configuration.Could you please anyone suggest me.
I ahve one more doubt in \n\tmwflow\cmsconf... i have only two tabs that is critical objects as well as sytem change options(in this tab no sytems are assigned)
no other tabs  like distribution routes, general settings,etc..
I also seen many threads asked this same question but noone got answered for this. Anyone have idea on this please suggest me.
Regards
Vijay

Scenario specific settings in SPRO should give you an idea of what to do.

It's quite normal that you only got 2 tabs there.
You need to assign systems to a project (SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN) and release the project to ChaRM before any systems appear.

  • Distribution Routes in CHaRM

    Hi CHaRM Gurus,
I was comparing SolMan 3.2 and Solman 7.0 and wondering what's the equal transaction code or screen was in /tmwflow/cmsconf "Distribution Routes" & Data Collector in "General Settings" in Solution Manager 3.2 to Solution Manager 7.0.
I mean I am using Solution Manager 7.0 and /tmwflow/cmsconf I do not see tab General Settings where can schedule the data collector from Satellite system, tab Distribution Routes where can perform Synchronize single project or all project etc..
    I will appreciate your help.
    Thanks in Advance

You need to use: /TMWFLOW/MAINTINST of /TMWFLOW/PROJ or /TMWFLOW/TRMO

  • ChaRM transport route, one development, 2 QA, 2 PRD system landscape

    Hello,
We have a customer who has an ERP system with a transport route which is the following:
One single Development system which feeds, 2 QA systems and then 2 PRD systems.
We are to implement ChaRM and we want to customize the tickets so that every time you execute the import action of a transport request into QA (and later into PRD) both systems QA1 and QA2 are updated and later on with PR1 and PR2.
We would like to know how to support this scenario in Solution Manager using ChaRM.  How do we set up the logical component at SAP, how we define the transport route and layers, and how we define the actions in the SDHF ticket.
    I appreciate your help.
    Regards
    Esteban

    Hello,
We set up a testing environment for change request management. In a solution manager we created five clients.  One single development which feeds two quality systems, and final two production system.  As it was said in the thread we used transport groups in the transport route.  The development system feeds this transport group which feed to import queus in quality systems.  We tested this transport route and transports worked well and arrives into both production 1 and production 2 systems.
Then created a logical component for that landscape, with five sytems.  Then we created a maintenance project using that logical component.  We created a maintenance cycle and then a task list was created which shows two delivery system, and the two productive  systems.  All the groups have the right actions.
However when we created a SDHF correction the system creates the task list only for 3 systems, not for the five of them.
we see that only action groups are created for development, quality 1, and production 1.  No entries for quality 2 and production 2
We try to run the action which is in the general part of the task list to execute the import in multiple systems, it cames out with the correct selection of importing in quality 2 system because it is the transport group.  However an error is raised saying that the actions for  quality 2 are not there in the task list which is true.  Finally, as short term solution, we were able to import into quality 2 and later on pr1 but done manually in the stms transactions which is not what we want to do.

  • ChaRM: transport route migration

    Hi!
we have a lot of different transport routes with different transport layer and would like to implement ChaRM.
We have a lot of different transport routes with different transport layer where we assign the developer classes/packages.
Now we would like use ChaRM.
As we know ChaRM uses standard transport layer and transport route.
Therefore we plan to consolidate all the developer classes/packages assigning to none-standard transport layer and route and migrate them to standard transport layer and transport route
    Questions:
    1) Can some one confirm whether or not ChaRM uses the standard transport layer with standard transport routes?
    2) Or is it possible to create own transport layer u201CZCRMu201D, assign them all the development class/package relevant for ChaRM and leave the other none-transport layer unchanged?
    3) Can one development class/package be assigned to several transport layers?
    4) Has some one experience dealing with the approach of migration?
    (tcode SE16 --> T_DEVC)
It will be great get some information regarding these questionsu2026
    Thank you very much!

  • ChaRM: Transport routes?

    Hi!
We have the following [SAP system landscape |http://www.file-upload.net/view-1086963/SDN_TMS_Ist_Soll.jpg.html] and would like to use ChaRM-approach in parallel with non-ChaRM.
Can some one tell me how ChaRM recognizes the transport routes, if we have several transport routes in same client? (e.g. SAP, ZDEV, ZADF1...ZADFN)
Will only standard transport layer with appropriate transport routes (e.g. "SAP" and "Z<SID>") by supported by ChaRM?
    Thank you very much!
    regards

    Hi Venu,
Transport routes should be created as per your client requirement for example you can set up the tms as below You can proceed as follow
    Dev (100)->QAS (100)->PRD (100)
    Dev (XXX)->QAS (XXX)
Now if the transport is created in 100 client and you want to move the same transport to other clients of dev and quality system via Charm you can schedule auto import job for other client specific to charm project it will solve the purpose.
Now for charm the main route could be Dev (100)->QAS (100)->PRD (100), create a logical component assign the corresponding 100 client's development system as Dev, Quality system as QAS and production as PRD,
Include that logical component in your charm project and then run the consistency check,

  • Re:/tmwflow/cmsconf transaction - scheduling and distribution routes hided

    Hi gurus,
Iam configuring the ChaRM for this i have done the IMG,TMS all the activities but i can t find the systems in the /tmwflow/cmsconf transaction. The distribution button and the sceduling button are hided ,how to enable it !
    solutions awarded for sure!
    regards,
    esr kumar

    Hi,
    Please kindly ensure that the IMG has been configured correctly especially in the perspective for ChaRM;
    SAP Solution Manager
    - Advanced Configuration
       -Scenario-Specific Settings
         -Change Request Management
           -Standard Configuration
             -Transport Management System
Extended Configuration is for the purpose, if you need to specify
Critical Transport Objects, or Reproting Service. But before coming to
this part, the standard configuration has to be completed and working.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers

  • Sales & Distribution - Route at Schedule Agreement

    Dear all,
When receiving PO or Schedule Agreement from the customers
we can pull back the delivery date, as lead-time, using the "Route"
    in Schedule Agreement VA33-Item-Shipping.
For example, the customer delivery date is 07/21/2008 (monday)
and when updating VA32-Route=000002 (1-day-lead-time), SAP pulls back
    to sunday(07/20/2008).
But, how can we check if the date that SAP pulls back is in weekend?

    Hi
If the weekends are Non Working days in Shipping Point and also Customer Master - Unloading details, then I believe it cannot determine the weekends.
    Thanks,
    Ravi

  • Charm: No Domain Controller for SB5

    Hi,
I configured Charm in solution Manager 4.0, created a satellite system SB5 in smsy and run the batch to get the info to charm. now i have it in /tmwflow/cmsconf but when i synchronize the project in solar_admin_project we get the error No Domain Controller for SB5.
The STMS is configured correctly in SB5
The RFC dests are OK also from SMSY i can see the dommain controller without any problem and distribution routes also.
    Any advise
    Thanks

    Thanks Pascal,
I was able to fix the problen but adding a domain link between solution manager and satellite systems.

  • Routed access design to support up to 2500 multicast groups

    Hi all,
I'm doing routed access design with following:
    - Routing protocol is OSPF.
    - 3 layers with: Core/Distribution/Access design.
    - Core: Catalyst 6500E Sup 2T.
    - Distribution: ME 3800X / Catalyst 4500X.
    - Access: ME 3400E.
We enable PIM from Core to Access layer.
At the moment, there are around 1000 multicast group in the network.
    Cisco hardware limitation of multicast:
    - Cisco ME 3400E can only support up to 1000 IGMP groups and multicast routes.
    - Cisco ME 3800X can only support up to 2000 IGMP group and multicast routes with Metro IP Services license.
    - Cisco Catalyst 4500X support up to 32K multicast routes.
    - Cisco Catalyst 6500E Sup 2T support up to 128K multicast routes.
    Requirement:
Design the network to support up to 2500 multicast groups.
So, are there any fine-tune in the design to meet above requirement?
Or I have to change access layer switch to higher model? (ex: 4500E)
    Thanks,

    hi there
replacing the hardware is one option
but the question here why are you going with routed access layer and in your case you have large Mcast routing table  that going to be everywhere !!
have you considered using Cat65k or 45K in the distribution in VSS and use L2 from access to distribution
in this case you need to concern about the distribution routing table size and also VSS simplify the topology and managerially of the network rather than have it with a complicated routing design
routed access is a good and recommend as well for quicker convergence time and no reliance on STP or HSRP/VRRP timers
however it could comlicate the routing design !
while VSS will also eliminate the reliance on HSRP/VRRP and STP with more added simplicity to the topology and design
so you may go with 45K VSS in the distribution and 65K with VSS in the core as well and in the access using L2 uplinks to the distribution and the uplinks everywhere can use multi-chassis etherchannel MEC, for increased network capacity in terms of bandwidth and quicker convergence time in the case of a link failure as well, Plus you will be able to support the desired Mcast routing table in the distribution and Core !!
    hope this help

  • Change Management. Cannot go to the next phase ... And common questions.

    Hi dear colleagues!
Here there are some unpleasant problems which has arisen during Change Management functions realization...
    1. After approving of Urgent Correction by so-called "Change Manager", "developer" couldn't set it status "in development" -> and begin corrections in DEV system. It outputs in status bar: "NO ACTIONS IN THE WORK LIST".
    2. How should i link some urgent correction (or simply Service Message) to a specific Maintenance Cycle?
The same problem I cannot go to the next phase, system outputs that "No Maintenance Cycle is open for the current system".
    3. And please can u explain in a simple words: Should i always make a maintenance project for using "Change Management" functions?
    4. Can we use "Change Management" for 4.0C (vers. of satellite) systems?
Any help and tips would really appreciate.
    Best regards,
    Vladimir

    Hi,
For configuring change management, you will have to follow the SPRO guidelines for setting up transport routes between satellite systems.
Well i list down the activities that you need to do. Details you can find in SPRO -- > SAP Solution Manager --> Scenario Specific Settings --> Change Request Management --> Standard Configuration --> transport management System
    1) Activate Extended transport control by setting  System Parameter CTC=1 in STMS --> Systems
2)Create Client specific transport route between satellite systems
    3) Ensure that all the systems in the domain have the same transport group.
4)Configure or activate Single transport Strategy in STMS --> Overview --> transport routes.
5)Activate TMS Trusted services in STMS --> Overview --> Systems --> Goto --> transport Domain --> Management Tab page --> Security option group box.
Besides these activities, you will have to execute the SPRO IMG Activity
SAP Solution Manager --> Basic Settings --> SAP Solution Manager System --> Activate Integration with Change Request Management
For activity Intigration Solution Manager make the following entry
    APPL: Change Request Management
    RFC Destination : NONE
For activity Integration Change Request Management
make the entries in table BCOS_CUST as g
    iven in the IMG instruction.
Now in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN you can activate a maintenance project for change management by going to System Landscape --> Project Cycle
Click the check box Activate Change request Management.
(NOTE: The above option comes only in Solution Manager 4.0, for SOLMAN 3.2 you can directly create maintenance cycle in /n/tmwflow/cmsconf --> Distribution Routes --> Project Landscape group box .)
Now you can create a maintenance cycle by clickin on the button Create Task List in project cycle tab page.
Navigate to task list and activate the tasklist (Maintenance Cycle) by clicking on the status button.
Now while creating change request ensure that you are assigning the correct ibase /component of the production system in the satellite system landscape. You have to enter the ibase component of the client of the production system to whcih the client specific transport route has been made. You can find this number in transaction IB52
Hope now u can move on with CHARM.

  • Tab missing in Transaction /n/TMWFLOW/CMSCONF

We have upgraded our SMR 3.2 to SMR 4.0, in SMR 3.2 i can able to see the tab named "Distribution Routes" using /TMWFLOW/CMSCONF transaction.when i used the same t-code SMR 4.0 , i can only able to see System Change Options and Critical objects,Other tabs are not in visible mode ??? how can we retrive the same tab . or else is there any other t-code for Distribution routes ???? guide me ..
im struck up while following the SPRO settings in ChaRM.Send me is there any step by step weblogs are available ???

    Hi Prakash,
If you are trying to create project cycles with /TMWFLOW/CMSCONF-> Distribution Routes-> Project environment, go to SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN -> System landscape-> Project cycles. With Release 4.0, some functions that existed in 3.20 outside of the original tools of the Solution Manager have been reintroduced.
If you need to go to Transport Domains and to navigate to TMS system configuration, go to Transaction SMSY-> Environment -> Domain Controller Overview.
If you need this tab for other function, let us know.
    Regards,
    Raquel Cunha.

    Hey Thom,
    Issue 1).
In SOLAR_PROJ_ADMIN, the reason you get those red icons because settings which are maintained are not as recemmended by SAP,
    For e.g
if you define a Production sytem in your project landscape, then Cross-client changes are NOT permitted, however its permitted if it were a Development system.
Just click on the red icon and then on your right, you will see the tab where you get know what went wrong and correct it if neccssary.
    Issue 2)
With Solman 4.0 distribution routes tabs are not present.
There are *.sim files and configuration available for Change request management in sap marketplace, but they are valid only for SOLMAN 3.2.
This is where you get them.
    <a href="https://websmp207.sap-ag.de/form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000633637&">https://websmp207.sap-ag.de/form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000633637&</a>
Just click on Techincal or functional roles on your right and there you get everthing.
For SOLMAN 4.0, there are no config guide or SIM files available yet.
Please Reward for usefull post and close this thread if your problem is solved

    Hi Expert,
Before all, thank you for your great advice and helps. I've decided to implement a few of them. However, during preliminary test , i run into some issues. Hopefully, you will be able to help one last time.
During my test, I implemented a few SSID wich worked fine in my lab with WEP encryption. And i decided to change the encryption, some of the SSID did work with wpa2. However, two remains my attention, the guess SSID which uses wpa with tkip and one of the test SSID. The guess SSID worked fine untill I decided to reload the AP. When the AP came back it could not grabs an ip, but sho commands shows that it is associate with the AP. See below. I am 100% certain that the config is correct as it was working fine before the reload.

Can the radio interface get mess by the reload? How can I verify theradio? Debug did not show Client asking for IP...
    3. My last question, my ACLs to limit guess access. Should i implement them in my firewall or in my distribution router? The distribution router has a sub_interface for each SSID. Would it be better  to block traffic right from the distribution router rather let unecessary traffic flow to the network?
Thanks a lot for great advice and guidance,

  • ACE as cache engine for wccp redirection

Does anybody know if the ACE 4710 appliance supports WCCP acting as a web-cache engine? I am exausting all possible options, and then some, for deploying a new application networking environment. I just returned from ACE training last week and found myself ramping up to deploy a new ACE.
I have pretty much exhausted my options for topology. We discussed several different designs in class and I don't like any of them. I have some serious problems with using the ACE as a default-gateway for servers. That options is out due to how other "non application" traffic is handled. Traffic such as RDP from IT support staff, patching from SMS servers, virus dat updates, vulnerability scanning... it all routes to the ACE which has to have static routes... then clients hitting the application VIPs have to be natted so the ACE does not use the static routes and reply directly... it all becomes a very big problem over time.
Second and third options are one-armed and direct server return... both not suitable for my requirements.
Now... that leaves me with an option we currently have deployed. That is to use a distribution route-switch (Catalyst 4500 Sup-IV) in the middle. The Cat uses PBR to return http traffic from the web servers back to the ACE. All other traffic follows normal routing table.
Ok... that works perfect... except PBR is not supported in the Sup-6 engine. Unbelievable... I know. This is a major fly in the ointment for this new deployment.
Now... there is another protocol that is often used for redirection... WCCP. If the ACE were a wccp web-cache, the router could be configured to redirect ingress http to the ACE. But... the ACE would have to act as a web-cache engine and register with the Cat as a home-router.
I am sure this option is not an option... but it would be nice. The ACE 4710 appliance has the general processor to do it but it would have to be implemented in software. I'm running A3(1.0) and I cannot find anything related to wccp. Nothing in the command-reference.
If there are any Cisco developers interested in adding some killer funtionality... this would be it. Wccp can be done in layer-2 as well as layer-3. The Sup-6 supports layer-2 redirection. Since the ACE is generally layer-2 adjacent this would be rather easy to implement. Anyway... food for thought.

I just would like to mention that you could have ACE in bridge mode inserted between your servers and the gateway (4500).
All traffic will go through ACE but no need for nating and no statc routes (just one default route pointing to the 4500).
The only problems would be if you exceed the BW of the 4710 with all your traffic.
Regarding the WCCP support for the 4710 this is not currently in our roadmap.
Ask your cisco account team to introduce the request.
    Thanks,
    Gilles.
