ChaRM for SAP BI systems?

Hi!
We would like to implement ChaRM functionality for our SAP system landscape.
Among others we have 3 SAP BI systems.
Does some one experience with set up of ChaRM for SAP BI systems?
Do we have here a different approach as for other systems (e.g. SAP ERP 2005)?

Hi Thom,
we are using a ECC landscape, a BI landscape, a Solution Manager landscape, and a CRM landscape within CHaRM. All landscapes are separate transport landscapes, and there is a transport domain link from SolMan Production system (as this is the transport domain controller).
To answer your question: The approach is all the same for any landscape (as long as they are just ABAP systems). The approach is different for Dual-Stack of Java systems, you would need CTS+.

Generally I would think it should as BA is technically just an ABAP-type system.
But I have never seen it before connected to CHARM, so any information is much appreciated: PROs, CONs, issues etc.

I have configured CHARM on BW 3OB & BI 7 landscapes, and i dont think whatever you heard is correct.
If you follow pre-requisites you will able to configure it without any errors.

Message "Creation of DataSources for SAP source system is not permitted"

I am in DW Workbench: Modeling and I need to copy a DataSource.
It's impossible, beacause I have this Message "Creation of DataSources for SAP source system is not permitted"!
What can I do?

Hii.
You can not copy the standard datasource to any other source system it will not allow you to do that.
But if you want to copy you can copy it to PC FILE source system.
It will allow you to copy there.
Right click in Datasource->Copy-> Give Target datasource name -
> intarget Source system tab -
>Give Source system for File.

MM configurations for SAP AFS System

Hi,
        I'm working in MM configuration for SAP AFS production system, After uploading AFS Materials successfully and also created Purchase order to make a stock for that material, but PO created successfully but not able to do Goods receipts for created PO.
       Errors : Purchase order xxxxx has no items,
Once created sales order for the same material again we got the error while GR but error is different.
      GR is not possible for this PO number.
But material type is ROH , and its external procurement only.
Please let me know when we will get this type of errors.

Hi Nasir;
Some possible causes are;
1.     Defining inbound delivery (Or kind of a confirmation) in the PO LI level and not maintaining the document subsequently
2.     Not releasing the PO before the GRN
3.     Creating the PO with a material with Grids (AFS Basic Data Screen) and not maintaining the grid value at item detail level of the PO

How can generated EWA for SAP Portal system

Hi Guru there,
Usually generate EWA should maintenan RFC, We have SAP Portal systems ( prod PP1 and test PT1 and dev PD1), but they are not appeared at saplogon and no general SAP interface, only operationing system level we can start/stop SAP system and database and from the operating system browser can see the portal work normal ( 50000 port) or not.
How can I generate EWA from solman?

ChaRM for a 5 system landscape

Hi all,
we got a requirement to implement charm for 5 system landscape. but the problem is
currently the scenario followed for the rollout is
1. AA(DEV-proj)--> BB(QUA - proj)
Then the TR is forwarded from BB system to the maintenance landscape
DEV>QUA> PROD
they don't want to implement retrofit functionality.
is there any way we can mapp this scenario to charm.
kindly advice in this regard.

currently a two systems are separated from the maintenance landscape.
they are forwarding the TRs to the development system.
is there any way we create 2 tracks.
1. AA-BB-DEV-QUA-PROD
2. DEV-QUA- PROD
again i not having a clear idea on how to differentiate the tracks as both leads to the same production system.
or is there any way develop a custom method for forwarding this TR to the DEV system.
kindly sugggest on how to go about.

Naming changes for SAP business systems

Hello
I have developed my interfaces in which most of them are from SAP to third party. We have SAP configured with its SID as the business system (e.g. DC1). Now we are planning to change the name of all the business systems in SLD. I deleted the previous business system from the SLD and created the new one according to newer standard and configured receivers based on it.
My problem is when I am posting the message through ABAP proxy its still taking the SID as the sender. As a result its not finding the receiver. Do I need to configure the sender in my source ECC system?

Hi Rajeev,
The Business system details like the client and logical system etc, help the proxy to know where it has to go.
Not for the sender system from where you are executing the PRoxy will have a Business system .Please check if the information is for the Business system can be seen correctly in the ID>BS>service-->Adpater specific identifiers.
Also you sender XI adapter is attched to this Business system.
No what is your receiver? You haven't specified that?
Also, you can just reactivate the PROXY once.

There are no restrictions for creating custom clients on the Discovery System box.
It is highly recommended to backup your current server before customizing the box so you can return to the original state if needed.

Clarifications about ChaRM for a 4-systems landsape

we have a 4 ECC systems landscape DEV>QAS>PrePRD-->PRD. When we set the status of change document from "In Development" to "To Be Tested" the TR are transported from DEV to QAS. After successfully testing in QAS the status of Change document is set to "Consolidated" and the TR are transported from QAS to PrePRD. When the phase of the project is switched to "GoLive" then all TRs that belong to the project are transported in PRD. Now we have some questions:
1)Is it possible to set a status for the change document that are in PrePRD so only those that have this status can be transported in PRD?
2)For a maintenance project UC and normal corrections in PrePRD are transported together (project import all) or separately?
3)Is it possible to do a single import (not an project import all) in PRD?

You want to transport only some transports out of all your available transports?
Only those, which reached pre-poduction system.
Afaik, this is not possible when you golive with the project. It's the idea of a project, to keep all transports 'together'.
You might try to do it manually directly in the system, but it's some effort and will reduce system stability.
#2)
UC are transported as transport of copies and re-transported with NC's when you go live with the project.
#3)
I don't know an automatic way - for one single transport, I would do it manually.
But again, it's risky. You should really know, what you are doing and what the effect of the transport will be!

Set up for Extraction the data from SAP ECC system

Hi!
I would like to analyze the transaction and master data from SAP ECC system into SAP BI system.
I have created the connection (entry for SAP ECC system) within SAP NetWeaver System.
Unfortunately when I try to load the transaction data for Info source the process does not end successfully.
There are no information within SM58 on source system.
The ST22 does not contain some suitable information.
Question:
Which settings do I miss and how can solve my problem?
(user authorization, etc.)

Errors while sending packages from OLTP to BI
Diagnosis
No IDocs could be sent to BI using RFC.
System Response
There are IDocs in the source system ALE outbox that did not arrive in the ALE inbox of BI.
Further analysis:
Check the TRFC log.
You can access this log using the wizard or the menu path "Environment -> Transact. RFC -> In source system".
Error handling:
If the TRFC is incorrect, check whether the source system is fully connected to BI. In particular, check the authorizations of the background user in the source
Can you please help me to identify the error?
