Chart borders

In creating a stacked column chart, chart borders go behind bars.
IS there any way to stay chart borders in front?

You always have the option to set your border (Chart Stroke) to None. Then if you still want a border, but in a different place, you can add your own border using a Shape.
Yes, that's right.
But I use charts made with Numbers in Pages. So it's better to copy the chart without grouped.
Ok I feedback this matter to apple.
When i must use border, i' ll try your way.
Thanks, Jerry

    Set the border attribute of the table tag to zero.  Use CSS to assign your borders like this -
    <!doctype html>
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    <style type="text/css">
    table {
              border-collapse:collapse;
              border:1px solid black;
    tr {
              border:1px solid black;
    tr.top {
              border-bottom:none;
    tr.bottom {
              border-top:none;
    </style>
    </head>
    <body>
    <table width="600" border="0">

  • Line chart cuts off x-Axis value

    Hi All,
    Have created a display to display an x-Axis value versus a Y-Axis value using a Line Chart. We want to maximize the chart space so we have removed the Legend from the display, problem is doing this cuts of part of the final x-Axis label and part of the final data point on the graph ? Why - can we move the borders out ?
    Emmett

    Emmett,
    You can "Fake" some extra space out of the right side of the chart by setting the legend colors to blend into the background of the chart.  This includes unchecking the "Use Pen Color?" box and setting the labels in the legend to match as well.  Then simply set the legend to be whatever additional width you need.  Other than this there's not really any other way that I can think of.  Hope this helps.

  • Pie chart legend options

    I have a spreadsheet with "expense categories" in one column and "dollar figures" in the second column.
    When I highlight the columns and create a chart I DON'T want to have to use "show legend" (with the color circles at the bottom) as it repeats my expense categories and just takes up space.
    What I want is what shows up with I click on the pie chart. When I do that, it changes my spreadsheet and shows the corresponding colors to the left of the categories.
    Is there a way to have my spreadsheet legends show up like in the picture below to the left?  It goes away the minute I click off the pie chart or try to print.
    Thanks in advance.

    See if this gets you started

    I put the legend in a separate table that consists of a single column. The column contains formulas that refer to the data table (Table 1). The formulas are not affected by sorting the data table, you can sort it all you want and the legend will be correct. I filled each cell with color and used conditional formatting to make it white text on a white background if there is no header text for that row. I also made the borders white so they would blend into the page. Add text in one of the empty rows of the data table and you'll see how it acts.
    Notice that a pie chart has only six different colors, then the colors repeat. You can modify that but you'll also have to modify what I did by changing the legend cells to the the new colors. I changed the colors by turning on the legend, using the magnifying glass in the Color window to get the color, then drag/dropping the color on the cell. I do not know how many different colors you can use.
    I recommend locking the legend table so it cannot be modified by the user.
    I recommend turning Wrap off in the data table.  If text wraps it makes the row taller which will cause the legend and the table to become misaligned.  Changing the font, changing rows sizes manually, or moving the table will do that too.
    I recommend locking the chart so it cannot be modified by the user.

  • Chart attached with Crosstab table/Horizontal table in same block

    Hello All,
    I need to design a chart with table data which may be corsstab/horizontal table in the same block using WebI. Is this possible in WebI??
    Thanks,
    Anila.

    Hi Anila,
    I just tried at my end,we cant show graph and data in one block.,but you can follow below trick.
    Insert a column into block , set no color to the borders in cell properties.and place graph in that column.

  • Edit line color in chart

    I just need to edit the line "stroke" color in a line chart... to a different color...
    I can't seem to find the option.
    Thanks,
    Akkdio

    Open up your Inspector window (View > Show Inspector) and select on the Table tab in the inspector.
    Select the line in the table that you want to change, and in the Inspector there is a section called Cell Borders…and this is where you can change the stroke type and color.
    Hope that helps.

  • Non-appearance of Dotted borders aroundthe dotted line positionorgchart box

    Dear Experts
    Non-appearance of Dotted borders around the dotted line position orgchart box
    In the Nakisa 3.0u2019s Org Chart main view, Dotted borders around the org chart box to identify positions with dotted-line relationships is not appearing. In the Position Hierarchy also, the Dotted line u2013 Org units details are not appearing even though the std. ZNG relationship data has been maintained.
    Whereas, The position to position dotted line reporting details are appearing in the structure tab under u2018Dotted Line - Reports Tou2019 block as the 005 relationship data are maintained.
    Configurations done in the Admin Console:
    In the Admin console under u2018General Settingsu2019 configuration of Organization structure, in the u2018Dotted Relationship Filteru2019 we have configured as u201C IsDotted = 'TRUE' u201C. Whereas the fields u2013 u2018Child Exists Filteru2019, u2018Parent Description Fieldu2019, u2018Assistant Filteru2019 are all left BLANK. All other fields are respective default values.
    Similarly, In the Admin console under u2018General Settingsu2019 configuration of Position under the Organization structure, in the u2018Dotted Relationship Filteru2019 we have configured as u201C IsDotted = 'TRUE' u201C. u2018Hierarchy Parent Fieldu2019 = ISDOTTEDORGUNIT. All other fields are respective default values.
    Kindly suggest the solution for displaying the Dotted borders around the org chart box to identify positions with dotted-line relationships. (Note:- relevant ZNG relationship data is already maintained).

  • How to plot line and bar chart in one graph

    i have one graph, but in this graph i want to plot line or bar chart using radio button selection.
    can i do that...

    You must have 2 data arrays or plots to get this. Make sure your plot legend is visible. Drag the plot legend vertical borders to view both plots. Select one of the plot to be bar plot (See the attachment)

  • Creating X/Y chart with X-Axis labels in between

    Hello all.
    I would like to create a Numbers 09 scatter/XY chart with the X-Axis labels between the gridlines instead of on them.   How can I do this with a line chart also?  Or, does thids format require a Combination chart?  If so, how can what I'm trying to create be made?

    I'll give you the basic steps. I might miss one or two along the way.  The basic steps are to create the chart, remove all the unecessary parts of the chart and set the fill color to none, create & format the table, slide the table under the chart, align the two, then lock them.
    Create a chart from your data. I said the chart above was a line chart but it was actually a scatter chart.
    I'd recommend making up a few "special" data points (overwriting a few points in your actual data for the time being) that you can use to align the table and chart.  In the chart above, I used something like (1.5, 0.1) and (30.5, 0.9), two points that should align exactly with the X & Y gridlines if the chart and table are properly aligned.
    Set the min and max for both axes.
    Size and place the chart where you want it
    Set the fill color to none
    Remove the value labels, gridlines, axes, etc.
    Create a plain table with the necessary number of columns and rows. The one above has 32 columns and 7 rows.
    Put the value labels in the table. I vertically centered the Y axis labels in the cells using the icon on the toolbar. I didn't horizontally center the X axis labels but maybe I should have.
    Make the table borders the color & thickness you want.  At this point, the X&Y axis labels will also have borders.
    Turn on Border Selection in the Table menu
    Select the borders you want to remove and change them to no line. You click on a border to select the entire thing then click again to select a segment. You can command-click to select multiple border segments. Be careful you don't miss when clicking or your entire selection will disappear. I recommend selecting & changing a few at a time
    Select the table and send it to the back using Arrange/Send to Back.
    Slide the table under the chart.
    With the entire table selected so that it has the little squares at the corners and sides, drag on the squares to get the table about the right size. Hold down Command when dragging to turn off snaps. Try it without Command and you'll see what I mean.
    Use the Table Inspector to fine-tune the row & column sizes so the table "gridlines" match the chart. You are trying to line up the gridlines with your two "special" data points. You might want to adjust the size of the chart some too.
    You can move the table around by dragging to get it close to where it should be. You can select the chart and use the arrow keys to move it pixel-by-pixel.
    You'll have to repeat the steps above until everything is aligned. Then you can get rid of those "special" data points.
    When it all looks good, lock the table and chart so nothing gets changed or moved accidentally.
    That was it off the top of my head. It comes out to alot of steps but once you've done stuff like this a few times it gets easy.

  • Help with Pages chart

    You used to be able to make a horizontal line within a chart a different color and thickness (using 'Inspector').  How do you do that now with the new update?

    Are you using "chart" to mean "table?"
    If that is the case, I don't think you can directly select cell borders in Pages 5; instead, you select an adjacent cell or range of cells and use the Border controls in the Cell pane of the inspector to change the appearance.

  • Charting Program

    I'm trying to make a program that charts information from Excel over time. I want the number retrieved to be placed on a line graph (e.g. if two numbers are retrieved 4 and 16, a line is drawn between 4 and 16 on the y-axis and 0 and 10 on the x axis). I'm mostly done, but the only problem is that it seems that I can only actually paint to the screen in the paint(Graphics g) method or paintComponents(Graphics g) method. Is there any way I could make something along the lines of graph(int y) outside of one of the paint methods?
    If it helps, here's the code that doesn't work for graphing:
    currentPoint.setLocation((currentX*X_SCALE)+PADDING, (Y_SIZE - (y*Y_SCALE))-PADDING);
    int x1 = (int)prevPoint.getX(), y1 = (int)prevPoint.getY(), x2 = (int)currentPoint.getX(), y2 = (int)currentPoint.getY();
    g.drawLine(x1, y1, x2, y2);
    prevPoint.setLocation(currentPoint);
    currentX += X_INCREMENT;
    g is defined earlier in the code, as are prevPoint and currentPoint, and all of the constants. The last line is just to make future graphs plotted along the graph as opposed to up the graph. I think i get a NullPointerException when I try to run this.

    Each time paintComponent (...) is invoked, the code in that method and any methods invoked from there willl be executed. Evidently that code is drawing only one line. Earlier drawn stuff does not carry over.
    If you need all your lines to be drawn, you need to store the coordinates in some collection like an array or ArrayList -- probably an ArrayList of Line2D.Double objects -- and iterate over the collection, drawing all the lines.
    You will probably need a separate method to clear out the collection or maybe just to remove certain elements...
    If that's not clear, feel free to ask more questions.
    db
    is there a major difference between paint() and paintComponent()?To elaborate further on this, if you override paint (...), the call to super.paint (...) will complete all painting activities, and your custom painting will then paint over borders and children, which could render any contained components invisible. That's why it is normal to override paintcomponent (...) and not paint (...).
    In the specific case of a childless component withour borders (or where the custom painting does not touch the borders) there would be no visible difference, but it might still be considered bad practise.

  • Not able to view data in Aria People search Org Chart

    Hi,
    I have uploaded my data into aria_tmp_people, aria_people_a & aria_people_b.
    While doing the search from Aria poeple, the uploaded data is not displaying in org chart.
    Your help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Aneesh

    Hi Aneesh,
    First be more clear about Aria Application. As Aria, is been related to an hrms part of an organization carrying the people infomation and it has some separate features too.
    But in your prespective i couldnt able to understand what do you want to do with that packeged application.
    Since you want to customize the aria application according to your organization needs means, First collect all your necessary organization information that is needed(like tables etc.). Then substitute those (i.e) your organization tables in the appropriate places in the form of query.
    Please dont use the same Aria people table, as the Oracle may framed according to their employee information. Nearly Aria application has 200 supporting objects. If you want to use the same objects means whether u r going to creating nearly 200 supporting objects..It is not worth at all.
    Please be more clear in your requirement that, what you are doing, and then raise the question. Be more prepared with your tables along with datas, and let give your reply once you were been prepared with your organization details table.
    As there are more peoples in the forums to help you other than me.

  • How can I represent more than one plot in an only one chart?

    Hello everyone,
    i got a code where I don't understand how to represent more than two plots, with different scales each, in the same waveform chart.
    As brief review:
    * 2 adquisition data wired to Bundle
    * wire from Bundle to waveform chart.
    * options of th chart: stack plots.
    I've tried to expand the Bundle but the problem is that I'm wiring a 3 element cluster to a 2element cluster chart. I don't understand how to upgrade the chart...
    (there's the two plots in each chart)
    (there's the code, where I've already tried expanding any bundle and wiring other signals, then wiring the bundle's output to the chart)
    I think if I could add more scales, it will be possible to plot three plots on the same chart.
    Thank you for your time
    Marcelo A J

    Since you are dealing with waveforms already, I think you actually want to have an array of waveforms to go into your chart.  You also need to map the plots to the scale that you want to use.  You can do that in the plot tab of the properties window.

  • How can i display Waveform chart in a subpanel using Vi templates.

    Hi All
    I am new to Labview hence need  some help. I am trying to develop an application which reads some data from a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). The WSN consists of base station connected to the USB port which recieves data from other sensor nodes.  The data comes in a certain format.  Node name, temperature reading, humidity reading etc. I want to read the data from the serial port and  based on the Node name, i want to display the information for each node in s separate window or subpanel etc. So if a new node is detected then a new window is created for that node. Since all the nodes have the same sensors on board i only need a one template. I can read the data using the serial port, parse the data to detect which node it is and also what the sensor readings are. I have created a template VI for the sensor node. I am having problems in displaying the template VIs in a subpanel. I can succesfully display a Waveform graph in the subpanel but i am having problems in displaying a waveform chart in the subpanel. I can see the actual waveform chart in the subpanel, but i cannot see the plot. Would be greatful if someone could point out what i am doing wrong here.
    Many Thanks
