Chart Column Display

Hi ALL,
I am using Combination Chart to display my Graph (Displaying as Line Chart)
In which there is 5 Column
IN column 4 there is values in All cell.
but for other column(1,2,3 & 5) there is value or may be it will Blank.
Now if my column 1 2  or 3 is blank my legend is showing Legend for all this column as column 4 is not Blank.
But for column 5 it shows Legend, only if Values is there and if column is blank legend is also Blank.
I want to show column 5 in legend. irrespective of if Value is there or not.
Thanks

Hi Ayush,
If you want to show your legend in the Graph always, you go to Behavior in the chart properities (Go to Ignore Blank Cells, then Uncheck the selection buttons In series, In values)
If you don't want want to show legend in the graph, you check them, if you check tem chart will get fit into the space you have provided, else chart looks not good.

G.S.Ramanjaneyulu.

This is one of those things that I find really strange about Numbers 3. The control for what you want to do is not where anyone would expect to find it.
    Select the Chart
    Click on Edit Data References
Look at the bottom left corner of the Numbers window. It should say "Plot Columns as Series" or "Plot Rows as Series"

  • Charts Not Displaying in 3.1.1

    Hi,
I'm teaching a class, running APEX 3.1.1.00.09. Can't get any charts to display. If it is a chart in the Sample Application, I get a "Waiting for Data" message. We tried making a chart using Interactive Reports, get nothing at all. Have installed Adobe Flash Player 9.0.124.0 today from adobe website. Checked that column headings don't have " around them or blank spaces as suggested by others in forum. Any other ideas. Kinda hurts the class to not show off the charting capabilities.
    Warren Capps

    Hi all,
I have been having the same problem as described here and in my quest to get it sorted I came across the following post:
    Link: http://beyondoracle.wordpress.com/2008/02/11/apex-charts-with-https-connections/
The significant configuration for by Joao (author of the above blog) and I is that we are using Apache as a reverse proxy in order to use SSL / https.
In my case I could see the charts without a problem if I went directly to the Apex host from within my firewall, but if I used https via the Apache reverse proxy (either side of the firewall) then I got either the "Loading data. Please wait" or "Waiting for data..." message in place of the chart.
In summary, I ran the following and it fixed by problem:
    BEGIN
    DBMS_EPG.set_dad_attribute ('APEX','cgi-environment-list','REQUEST_PROTOCOL=https');
    DBMS_EPG.set_dad_attribute ('APEX','cgi-environment-list','HTTP_HOST=<my_host_fqdn>:443');
    END;
    * The effect was instant - no need to restart anything
I should mention that everything else I had tried in my Apex environment was accessible over https before running the above code.
I hope this solves your chart problems too, but if not then that it takes you at least one step closer...

  • Chart/Columns labels

I am building a Column chart I'm not sure what its called but its where you add different series together to make a column chart (this option is second from the top and on the left side in the charts selector). I would call it a additive column chart. What I want to do is add a label to the chart. However, I don't want the labels of the individual series but the sum of the series. I would like this number to appear at the top of the Chart Column.
So for example if my data for a particular column says:
    Canada 10
    US 5
    Other 3
I want the number 18 to be displayed in the chart. It is an additive column of course so why can't I show the total?
I just want to show the total somehow as a number on the chart.
    Thank you.

That chart is called a stacked bar chart. I don't know how to do what you want automatically but I'll try a few things out and report back (unless someone else answers before I figure it out). You always have the option of putting text boxes on the chart with the numbers you want.
EDIT: Here's an idea that works but it kind of a pain. The advantage it has over individual text boxes is that it recalculates the sums and puts them in the correct place automatically.
    1. Create another column of data in your table that is the sum you want.
    2. Plot a bar chart of that column. Ensure the min and max on the Y axis are the same as your first chart. It would be best to set these in each chart so you can ensure they will never be different.
    3. Show value labels. This should show your sums.
    4. Hide all the other elements of this chart. No axis, no gridlines, no Y axis values, no X axis categories, etc.
    5. Set the fill color of the chart and the bars to none (in the Graphic Inspector)
    6. Slide it overtop of your first chart.
    7. Reposition/resize the chart until everything lines up and looks good.
For many operations, such as adding another row of data or changing values in your table, this should work out fine with no further adjustments required. For adding new rows of data to the chart, you will have to do it for both charts instead of just one.

  • Dynamic column display

I'm trying to produce a stacked bar chart of inventory vs time for our dashboard. Depending on the time of year, our users may wish to have different columns displayed on the bar chart. A canned chart will display, but I have had trouble getting it to keep up with the new columns.
I've tried using the javascript methods to change the ValueColumns for the display columns, but when I do that, I lose the date display.
I've tried using the javascript methods to update the XAxisDisplayColumn, but it won't display.
I've tried writing a .TDCH chart file to the web zone, but that doesn't work either - the chart won't load.
I can't find documentation on using the login service to import a .TDCH file
    I'm using MII v12.0.10(15).
    Thanks,
    Adam Doyle

    Adam,
How are you updating the chart after changing the value columns?  If the query is time-based (such as a tag query), the applet refresh() method will update the start and end dates of the query, based on the current time less the duration/duration units, whereas the update methods will use the dates specified.
The updateChart(true) applet method  reruns the query, and also updates any changes made to the iChart appletu2019s display elements.
The updateChart(false) applet method only updates changes made to the iChart appletu2019s display elements.
In my tests, I found that the updateChart(true) method was the one to use.
    Hope this helps!

  • Problem in Combo chart columns and line

I select chart type is  combo in my vc model  and select data series is columns and line.
I define 5 series in the chart.
once i deployed the model the output shows the columns are overwrite in stacked position.
    eg:
    series 1: 10%
    series 2: 20%
    series 3: 45%
    series 4: 25%
    series 5 is line type
but in the chart the only one column will display, its top value 45% and itself shows 10% and 20% in different color.Don't show the 25% value on that column.
How to display the chart columns in clustered type in combo chart.
    thanks in advance
    Aravind.S

    Hi
When you select 'Combo Chart' you will not get options for 'Stacked or Clustered'. By default it will be 'Stacked' chart only. Combo charts are generally used for less number of data series. Normally these charts are best suitable for 2 Data series only.
Still in your case is there any reason to use 'Combo Chart'? Consider following points -
    1. If you want to use this type of chart then selction of 'Columns + Line' will be difficult because it will treat only 'Last Data Series' as line & all others will be columns & what you said problem will appear.
    2. Instead of that select 'Column + Lines', so that only first 'Data series' will be column & rest all will be 'Lines'. So that you will get better visibility in that graph.
I think this will help you, If you have nay problem let me know.

  • HELP!   SQL Query:  Other ways to reorder column display?

I have a SQL query report with a large number of columns (users can hide/show columns as desired). It would be great if the column display order could be changed by changing the order of the columns in the SELECT list in the Report Definition, but that doesn't work -- it puts changed or added columns at the end regardless of the order in the SELECT list of the query.
Is there some other way to reorder the columns displayed without using the Report Attributes page? It's extremely tedious to move columns around using the up/down arrows which redisplays the page each time. Am I missing a way to change display order, or does anyone have a "trick" to do this? It's so painful....
When defining forms you can reoder columns by specifying a sequence number for each column. Just curious as to why reports were not done the same way, and are there any plans to address this in a future release?
    Karen

Yes, reordering columns is extremely painful.
It is supposed to be much improved in the next version.
    See
    Re: Re-ordering columns on reports
Moving columns up/down in Report  Attributes
    See my example at
    http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=24317:141
Basically, let the users move columns around until they are blue in the face, provide a Save button to save the column order in a user preference and reorder the columns when the page reloads.
Or you can use Carl's PL/SQL shuttle as the widget to specify the columns shown and their order. The shuttle is at http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11933:27
    Hope this helps.

  • Pie chart to display top 5

I am using pie chart to display the top 5 countries based on the values. For this, i created an advanced option where on the change of is country with TopN being 5 including others and show values is Pth pecentile (P=50) of @value percent.
The problem is that the pie chart percentage is showing as 52.2% for a country and the detail information below is showing 39.38% which is calculated based on value / total value * 100. The same formula is used for the pie chart as well.
Is this how its supposed to behave or should it show the correct value on the pie chart? How can i achieve the correct value.

  • Charts not displaying properly in Internet Explorer

I have a component that takes in an xml formatted set of
charting data and displays it in both chart form and in a data
grid. In internet explorer I occasionally see spikes in the lines
on my chart. It basically appears that the points are either being
plotted higher or lower than they should be at random places. I
have checked the xml input data and it appears to be correct. Also,
the same data the chart is using is being displayed in a data grid.
The data grid shows the correct values as well.
So it appears that my xml data and the values in the data
grid are correct, however the chart does not match. This is
sporadic behavior. Most of the time, my charts are displayed
correctly, however occasionally one or more data point will be in
the wrong spot. Also, this only happens in internet explorer. I
can't seem to reproduce it in Firefox.
Has anyone seen anything like this? Any ideas on how to fix
    it?
    I appreciate any help. Thanks,

  • Problem of using Run-chart in displaying result history of QM

    Hello all,
I met a problem about the using of Run-chart in displaying result history of QM, normally, when you use this button to do a statistical chart for checking, the data would be displayed in the measure unit of Inspection Lot. What I want to know is whether there is way for me to change the measure unit from Inspection Lot number to another one (eg. batch number).
Could anyone be appreciated to give me a short reply?
    Thanks & Best regards,

I think this is not possible

  • Chart digital display bug

    Hi,
I am using chart with stacked plots and digital display for each of those stacked plots. There seems to be some update bug since if I move the display on the chart weird things start happening. The chart stops to update some plots and also artifacts appear. When I hide the digital display all seems to work as expected. What is the problem? Is it a bug? Is there some work around or do I have to code my own digital display?
I made a short video to show the problem.
    LV 2011, Win7

After I wrote my own implementation of the digital displays I realized that this problem appears also if I use separate controls and place them on the graph. Really annoying. The workaround I found, whether using the native charts digital display or your own version, is to force the graph to refresh. This surprisingly cannot be achieved by the method chart.refresh which doesn't help but by toggling for example Legend.ScrolBarVisible. If you toggle this property after writing data into the graph this annoying bug disappears. Other usable properies for this are: chart.visible, chart.updatemode, chart.plot.visible, chart.plot.color
