Chart Linking

Hi
I got a Pages document which requires a chart, made in Numbers, insertet and linked up with a lot of numbers (Insurance Industry).
Now, the numbers insertet are never the same, so I was wondering if it is possible to create a chart which I could change the numbers in whenever a new presentation is needed and then link it up to Pages.
I found a link which I think descripes what I want, although I'm new to Numbers, so a little help would be nice.
Chart linking
If you want to use charts from Numbers in your Pages documents or Keynote presentations, this feature will make it much easier to ensure that you always see the latest version of a chart when you make changes to the underlying data in Numbers. Linked charts automatically refresh when the data they are based on changes. So now you can pull a chart into a Pages document and, when you adjust the underlying data in Numbers, there’s no need to embed the modified chart again.
It is mentioned, that i'm not the only person going to use this document, so they have to be able to change and modify the numbers whenver a new presentation is needed.

The Pages document and the Numbers one must remain where they were when you 'linked' them.
This is why, when I use this feature I store the two files in a disk image which may be moved as I want.
Having different persons using the same documents on a given machine is not a problem.
If the two files are stored on a network it's playing with matches.
There is no provision for that in the applications.
If two users try to have a doc open at the same time to make changes you may be quite sure that the document will be destroyed.

Skillbuilders modal from chart link

I'm at a loss as to how to call the skillbuilders modal from a chart link (click on point in series). I'm able to call a classic report residing in another page but I can't figure out how to get it to appear in a modal. I created examples on apex.oracle.com.

Page 1 has 2 charts. The chart in column 1 is working fine with a link to a report in another page. Chart2 in column 2 is the one I would like to have the report loaded in a modal rather than moving away to another page.
Again, apologies and much appreciation for the help. Clearly I'm showing that I'm an end-user trying to evaluate the ability for my kind to develop basic applications.

Set multiple items with javascript function in chart link

Hi Folks
I am able to use the javascript $s function to set the value of one item from a chart link. I need to pass values to multiple items.
Is there a way to use javascript function to pass values for multiple items on a page from a chart link

Org chart link in Who's who

Hi,
Can anyone tell me where the config for the Org Chart service that is kicked of from who's who (ie when you've found someone you can then click the Org Chart link)
I can't find the service in the Homepage framework. And I can't find a link with the Who's who.

The config (what little there is) is under the ESS ITS specific services settings....go to "Office"....there is all the "Who's Who" config....toward the end is "Determine Functions"...that has a "check box" for "Allow access to Organizationl Environment"....it does little more than making the "org chart" button visible/active in the Who's Who service. There is no other specific Org Chart config in ESS. In fact, the standard SAP Org Chart service is pretty bad, so I have always replaced it with a custom version (since just about everyone customizes the Who's Who service also). Hope this helps.

Chart Link Checksum Error

Apex 3.2
I have a chart with a link going to another page and setting some parameters.
I am using APEX_UTIL.PREPARE_URL, as the page is protected by checksum.
My second parameter needs to be the word CREATE
My sql is

When I click the link, I get an error
The checksum computed on the request, clear cache, argument names, and argument values (P23_START_DATEP23_JOBTYPE01-OCT-2013CCREATE [271FDEF1EF274CFAB05F1D622830CE82] ) did not match the checksum passed into the show procedure (A05D59BDB4FF568F0B3975EDDC1AC5B4).
Can anyone point out my mistake

I think the problem is a comma.

Dynamic chart link to db

Hi,
I'd like to display a chart make with microsoft visio in an apex page, see pic in the link below:

Org Chart link not coming for the user

Hi
I am trying to configure the Org Chart by Nakisa. The connection to SAP has been established using Single Sign-on. I am able to log-on successfully as a user. But I only get the 'Preferences' link under Quick Start but not the 'Org Chart'. Any idea what could be the problem?

I will look in the authorization issue. Is the authorization object S_RFC enough or do we need anything else?
I am using "http://XXXorgchart1/OrgChart/default.aspx" as the link for logging in, where XXX is the company name. Is that what you meant by server name? I am not a technical person, so my understanding may not be correct.

Classic report regions not executing queries after clicking in a chart link

I have a chart region with a link to page passing values to select list items, but report regions are not loading.
This is the link generated at chart series:
f?p=106:32:1310398926027:::RP:P32_DATE_SELECT,P32_SERVICE,P32_RESOURCE,P32_ROLE_ID:09%2F02%2F2013,1,EDER%20ZAVALA,1
All page items passed are filled correctly, but report regions don't show any data.
Please notice I am using two LOV where second one is showing values according the first one selected and doing the submit event where report regions are showing the result of the queries executed.
Report regions shows data when I do the select of page items manually, but not when I pass those values thru link url
I am using Oracle APEX 4.2.2.00.11

The flash chart Link not opening in oracle Apex 4.1

I have created a flash chart (Pie chart ) on the latest version 4.2.
Everything is workinfine when I have created a hidden item and associated a computation to it and added that in custom color option in chart attributes
I am able to customize this again in this version
But When I have done same thing in Apex 4.1
I am able to see the output .but When I try to change the color and click on chart attributes it throws an error showing no data found
Kindly help me in solving this error .

To assist in resolving your issue, could you please outline the steps you've carried out in your 4.1 environment? Also, could you please confirm exactly what version of APEX you are referring to - 4.1.0 or 4.1.1?

Entries in CDS.log file and Org Chart Link

Hello Gurus/Luke/Stephen:
I have a live SAP connection for Org Chart 3.0 (build 5.1.32.1) for Nakisa 2.0. I have correct entries in backend R/3 system and I have right entries in Nakisa (through Admin Console). I have also done HR-OCI configuration. Still I am not able to launch OrgChart - it gives following error "Cannot find the root of OrgChart. The OrgChart box may have been deleted or incorrectly specified". Please find following entries from CDS.log file from server:

Charts Linking To Charts

I know this is not a new problem, but I haven't found a viable solution on the web to seems like what would be a fairly common problem.
In using <cfchart>, ColdFusion does not allow you to pass a primary key to the url page. Instead, you are forced to put primary key type information in the ITEMLABEL field, which results in terrible looking charts.
instead of this:
url="next_chart.cfm?item=#primary_key#&series=$serieslabel$&value=$value$"
I would like this:
url="next_chart.cfm?item=$itemlabel$&series=$serieslabel$&value=$value$&theid=$prima ry_key$"
This is a significant oversight in ColdFusion in my opinion. I have customers who wonder why I am displaying nonsensical integer values in my charts, when I am forced to because I need those values there to support the url drill-downs, as you can see in the example chart I downloaded.
Instead of 13 and 26, it should be able to read Cell Phone Spend and VOIP Spend, and I should be able to pass the 13 and 26 as primary keys via a new mechanism.
I hope this is fixed in CF9. I know ColdFusion acknowledged this as an issue back in 2004.

HGrid with drill down & chart

Hello folks, I've a requirement, kinda hard and I would like to know some guide lines with my first OAF customzied page.
The requirement is a page that includes the Organization Hierarchy from the top most to the to bottom including managers and with a drill down option for each department and manager. Another thing is a report issue, which is a competency/appraisal chart grouped for a specific department/supervisor or the whole organization.
At first, I thought of a graphTable bean under the HGrid that will be implemented with PPR option to refresh each time a selection happens in the HGrid. Then I've found a way to include BI Publisher reports withing an OAF Page in real-time. I almost have gathered the information to be used but the main problem is, I don't know from where to start!.
Please advise.

glad to hear we were on the right track. chapter 12 of the htmldb documentation provides info on some of the api's that htmldb makes available to you for use in your application. of those api's, htmldb_util, has a url_encode function. it encodes special characters and such into hex so you can call them via a url. because of the weirdness you described it seemed as if you could use some encoding your svg chart links, too. so instead of coding your select statement as...

...i was suggesting you write it as...
