Chart Overlap

Hi,
I am facing a strange problem using flexbuilder with LIferay
, a portal server. My portlets contains charts made using
Flexbuilder and everything work perfectly fine. But since something
always has to create a Hicup.. i notice that the drop down menu
items from liferay cannot overlap the charts .
Is there anyway of sending the charts to the backgrounp when
overlapped by other menu's or windows.

Hi priyahummingbird,
Based on the current information, I think the issue can occur due to the setting or third party add-ons of Internet Explorer (IE). In this scenario, you can try to run IE in compatibility mode to check the issue again. Or I suggest that you can refer to the
steps below to troubleshoot the issue:
Click Tools -> Internet options.
Switch to the Security tab, click Local intranet, and then select Default level.
Switch to the Advanced tab, and click Restore advanced settings.
Temporarily disable third party add-ons. For detailed steps, please see the link below:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/internet-explorer/manage-add-ons#ie=ie-10
Hope this helps.
Thanks,

  • Labels in pie charts overlap when the slice is very thin

    Hi,
I have Crystal Reports 2008 and I am using it to create some dynamic charts but in some cases (when the slice of the pie is really thin) the labels of the pie slices overlap. It is a customer's requirement to have labels (legends) on each slice and using the option "Auto-Arrange" doesn't work since the font becomes really tiny and the customer doesn't like it. Could anybody please help?
    Thanks a lot!

  • Charts Overlap Footnotes

I am writing a book that uses many charts and footnotes. The charts (move with text) often cover the footnotes which seem invisible to them. Any way to fix this?

    Too much data

  • Blank column in a chart

    Hi gurus,
I'm trying to insert a blank column into a column chart because the columns of different measures are together.
I tried to insert a blank serie and it works, but if I show the legend, I have a blank value into the legend and I can't hide it.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Javier:
        Try following:
There are two column chart overlapped. First chart binds to all series. Second chart binds to the same series but then remove one series which will filled with blank values at run time.
        1. Do formula in the excel, hide the first chart when the column data is filled with blank (equal 0). (then it will show the second chart with one less series)
        2. Show the first chart back when the column data is filled with data. (not equal 0).
    thanks!

  • Chart visibility condition - performance

    Hi
We are working on a solution where we want a dynamic chart type (depending on the selection in a KPI table). As far as I can see the way to do it in VC is to create all charts, overlap them visually and then hide/show the charts depending on some logic. This also works quite fine.
My question however is: If I create a number of charts and hide them all except one, how will that affect performance? Of course it will need to run the hide/show logic for all charts, but will it "calculate" hidden charts?
    Thanks
    Karsten

    Hi
It will calculate or run all the charts but it will show only the chart which satisfies visibility condition. As you go on changing the logic then only it will show corrosponding charts. Adding multiple charts will certainly detoriate the performance but this also depends on the complexity of 'Data service'. If you are creating all the charts on same 'Data service' it will not affect the performance that much. IF you are using any mathematical formulas for each chart then it will detoriate. If charts are on different 'Data Services' then certainly it will detoriate the performance. There are many ifs & buts for this and all is dependent on you model configuration & "Data Service' which you are using.

  • How to change the page layout to fit 2 portlets in a row?

    Hi,
I am very new to Plumtree portal, please be gentle.
We are in the trial and design phase for our company's portal and we are tring Plumtree now.
We selected the page layout as one narrow panel and one wide panel. In the wide panel, I have a wide portlet to fit the whole row on the top, then we want to divide to 2 columns under the first portlet as the middle section of the page, so that we can place 1 chart on left side and 1 chart on right side of the wide panel.
    HOW TO DO IT?
also, now I developed 2 testing portlets in vb.net. Top one is the wide one. The 2nd one is a chart, when I deployed it in the page, the chart overlaps the top portlet! HOW TO FIX IT?

By default you can only lay out the portlets in the assigned columns and cannot span, but you could try cheating (I don't know what the impacts of this might be, though, so be careful)
Change the layout to a 2-column that also has a content canvas (darker gray box). For your portlet you want to have span both columns, set it up as a content canvas (you may have to re-register it). I think that might work, but... honestly, I don't know enough about content canvas settings to konw what might happen down the road. I'm hoping "a portlet is a portlet is a portlet"
    Like this...
[         content canvas         ] <-- put your portlet here
    [ narrow ] [         wide         ]
It also sounds like you're using gridlayout on your .NET portlet - you'll want to change that to use flow. Grid will use absolute positioning (bad here). I'd suggest reading the .NET web consumer install / developer PDF for additional info on how to get ASP.NET portlets to work.

  • Halo around guys head in Illustrator. He's not an angel.

I'm trying to use a photo cut-out (with paths) in Illustrator CS4 from PS CS4 and am having trouble.
The  photo I'm attempting to export is a bust and, when I pull the .eps into  Illustrator, I've got a bit of white that shows around the gentlemans  hair. This wouldn't be an issue if the background were white ... but the  photo needs to overlap a red slice in a pie chart. So he looks like he's got a halo. What am I doing wrong?
Is there a setting in Illustrator I'm missing that could make the white transparent? I don't want to make the cut-out a screen bc then half of his face would turn redish due to the pie chart overlap.
In PS:  I've got all my paths drawn. I've set the device pixels on the clipping  path to '0'. My 'Make Selection' has a rendering feather radius of '0',  anti-aliased.
Should I be saving to a format other than  .eps? Should I be exporting (I know it would need to be more than the  'export paths to illustrator option - I need the image AND the path)? Should I be pulling it into Illustrator in a different way???
Any ideas on what I could change to make this work? I've been at this all darn day and I'm starting to lose my mind.
    Thanks.

Sorry, Steve, yes, I meant the Device pixels were blank. My mistake. I've just been so frustrated I was flipping back and forth too quickly. My typo.
I tried saving as a PSD in photoshop and placing that .psd file in Illustrator. It seems to work -for now- but it has more than doubled the file size of the illustrator document making my machine run soooo sloooooowwww. Is there something I can do?

  • Why is the pages so *****??

whenever i wanted to add some thing between two page those chart that i have done at the bottom just messed up, chart overlaping on each other.  And there are also a problem which is i cant move the page freedomly.Other than that there are stil a problem which is it cant create a new page.

It's not that hard. Move the charts around, insert a new page perhaps. If there's no text you might have to insert a section.

  • Multiple Tooltips are not showing up when hovering over overlapping chart items

    Hi!
I ran into a problem which I am unable to fix. Either I am missing something very obvious or this is a bug. I set up a LineChart with two series. One series has multiple overlapping data points, and both series overlap in one point.
Data tips are only getting displayed where the data points of the two different series overlap. Hovering over the overlapping points of a single series does not lead to multiple data tips being displayed. According to Flex SDK docs this should be possible.

  • Stacked Bar chart does not overlap series

I have a stacked bar chart with to values "Invoiced" and "Budget" and 2 categories YEAR and MONTH - the problem is that the bar chart shows the values Invoiced and Budget in Top of each other and Not overlapping each other . ex:
NOW:  Invoiced =  200   Budget = 300   - Bar chart shows a column of 500 for the month (NOT correct)
What I want is to show 1 column for each month where up to 200 the colour is green and from 200 to 300 the colour is blue for example....
    How to achieve this ?

    Hi HCMJ,
By default, the bar value will not overlapping each other in stacked bar chart, and we cannot increase or decrease the gap between the series in Reporting Services.
Based on my research, I find a workaround can achieve your requirement, please refer to the steps below:
Create a dataset with the query below (sample data):
    CREATE TABLE #temp(name nvarchar(50),time nvarchar(50),value int)
    INSERT INTO #temp VALUES     ('Invoiced','YEAR',100),('Invoiced','MONTH',200),('Budget','MONTH',300),('Budget','YEAR',600)
    SELECT * FROM  #temp
Insert time field to Category Groups pane, and change the group name to “time”.
Insert value field to Values pane, then change the value to like below:
    =min(Fields!value.Value,"time")
Insert another field with the following expression to Values pane:
    =max(Fields!value.Value,"time")
Change the type of chart from Stacked Bar Chart to Range Bar Chart.
Right-click the Series field to change the Fill color to #9bff8c00 (DarkOrange with 155 Transparency) or any color with Transparency you like. Now we can get the following:
Preview it and get the following result:
If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.

I attached screenshot for this report,
    any suggestions pls
    Thanks,
    R.B

    Hi R.B,
I can reproduce the issue in my local environment. If there are more column data with adjacent values in the chart, the label will be overlapped due to the insufficient space. In this scenario, there are several properties you can use to try to get the labels
to fit better. Click the data point to open the Properties Windows, then go to the SmartLabels node.
Expand the "NoMoveDirections" node. This will give us a lot of directions that we can use to restrict the directions that the labels can move in. We can try to change directions to see if it helps.
Try to enlarge the chart size and use the method below to adjust the column size, it will free up more space to contain the label.

If we want to remove the black arrow, we can refer to the following thread:

Alternatively, we can use Tooltip property to instead of actually displaying. Type the same expression with Value field in the Tooltip property.
    Hope this helps.

  • Charts get overlaped with Table view

I have a report which has 4 different views in the following order
    TITLE ( Report Title)
STATIC TEXT ( Report Notes and Observations)
    GRAPH (Line Chart)
TABLE ( Table Report showing 35~40 rows)
I have these views arranged into a compound layout. The report looks good on the dashboard/ answers etc.. once I download this the entire compound layout into excel or schedule it to be delivered in excel format The layout gets messed up , The chart essentially overlaps the data ( table view) . Is there a work around for this .
    We are using 11.1.5
    Thanks

Thanks Dpka. The requirement is limited to excel downloads only and i have verified it doesn't work in .mht as well.
My colleague came up with an alternate solution by adding a static text box(embedded with line breaks-- Enable HTML) . we placed this box in parallel with the chart view. Now when we download the report it works

    Hi HariKan,
Per my understanding that the Category group of the pie chart which will retuen many values so that the label will overlapping and you want to know is any method to deal with this kind of problem, right?
In Reporting Services, when enabling data label in par charts, the position for data label only have two options: inside and outside.
In your scenario, I recommend you to increase the size of the pie chart if you insist to choose the lable inside the pie chart as below:
If you choose to "Enable 3D" in the chart area properties and choose to display the label outside, the label's layout will be more clear:
