Chart Prints With a Border

I am using Crystal 11 over a Citrix connection. I have two pie charts in the report footer section, with one partially overlapping the other one.  I have it set up to show the pie of each chart, but only one legend.  When I print to two different local printers, the top-layered chart prints a border even though the border setting is set to none.  If I make the lower-layered chart the top chart, then IT prints with a border and the other one no longer has a border.  If I export the report as a .PDF and then print the .PDF, both charts print without a border as they should.  If I export as a Crystal Report and then print it using the Crystal Reports installed on my hard drive, both charts again print correctly.
I've tried putting a white border around the chart, but that didn't help.  If I put a non-white border around the chart, that border surrounds the border that shouldn't be appearing.  I've searched the web and this newsgroup, but haven't found any references to this problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I guess I should have played with it a little bit longer.  While I wouldn't say it's working as designed there is a workaround.  I went into Chart -> Format Background... (which can also be accessed via right-clicking the chart).  The border was set to transparent, but the fill foreground color was set to white.  When I made the foreground color transparent as well, then the border disappeared when printing.  I'm not sure why a white background with a transparent border was making the border appear, but I am now getting the desired results.
Hopefully someone else will gain from this if they have a similar problem.

  • Printing with colored border?

    I have been wishing for one simple thing since aperture came out...being able
    to print with a black (or other color) border instead of white. Is there a simple way to do
    this that I am missing? with photoshop its right there in the print controls where it allows you
    to select a color for the border. is this a difficult feature to add? not sure why it wouldnt be there. apple seems to appreciate using a black background for web pages...why not for printing?

    Try using the book tool - simply lay out a 'template' book with pages the size of your paper, and drag images into it when you want to print.
    Unfortunately you don't get the print-specific sharpening, but the layout controls are pretty good.

  • Printing document.... images w/ transparent background print with visable border

    I created a document in adobe InDesign CS3. I've placed some graphic images that have transparent background onto the document. It looks fine on my PC but when I print on a laser color printer, it prints with a noticeable background on the image. Drving me crazy. Any ideas why?

  • How can I print with black border around edge of image?

    I'd like to add a black border around the edge of certain images I'm printing. I know it's fairly trivial in Lightroom, but I can't see where this option is in Aperture. Is this lacking in Aperture, or am I just missing it? Many thanks.
    PS -- I'm aware there are some plug-ins that claim to do this, so if Aperture can't do this, please feel free to chime in with comments on the best plug-in for this task.

    Thanks, Rich. That's a good plug-in, and does cover what I need (with lots of other features, too). The problem, though, is it requires an export of the image, which I then have to either print from another application, or reimport to Aperture to print. I was hoping to find something that will either just apply the border to the print job, or that would serve as more of an Edit With . . . type of plug-in than an Export plug-in, so I can keep everything in one place. Thanks again.

  • C7280: How to make a print with a border?

    I have a C7280. I scanned an old photo into Photoshop. The image in Photoshop does have a border as I have intended and Photoshop says the image size is 3.75 x 4.9.
    I loaded a 4 x 5.5 sheet of paper into the printer's photo tray. The image prints all the way to the left and top of the paper. In "Select Paper Size:" I tried both 3.5 x 5 in. and Borderless 3.5 x 5 in. and got the same results both times.
    I tried 4 x 6 in. and I got more of the image - I got the full image vertiacally, but the image was printed too far to the left resulting in a slight border on the left. The right border was present.
    To be clear: The border I am referring to is part of the image - I am not talking about a border in the conventional sense, which is a border formed by lack of printing where the blank white paper shows.
    My question:
    What paper size do I select or what do I do to get the image to print in the center of the paper so there is a border? (I will accept either a border as part of the image or a border in the conventional sense)

    > A little knowledge might be a dangerous thing on my part
    Yep.... Won't work. Not the print stylesheet part, but the
    special print
    part. The best thing you can do is to open a page of ALL the
    coupons and
    print from that. Try this -
    Put this in the head of the document -
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function print_page(where){
    var is_mac=(navigator.platform.indexOf("ac") != -1);
    (document.all && is_mac)?
    alert("Select \"Print\" from the menu") : where?
    where.window.print() :
    window.print();
    function writeOutPrintLink(){
    document.getElementById('printLink').innerHTML = '<a
    href="javascript
    rint_page();">Print this</a>'
    </script>
    Adjust the body tag of the document as follows -
    <body ... onload="writeOutPrintLink();"> (where the
    ellipsis indicates
    already existing attributes, if any)
    <span id="printLink"></span>
    That way, the link only shows up if you have javascript
    enabled.

  • How to print with out border

    I am trying to print a file in works (see pictures) and it keeps cutting off the sides when i print what do i need to change for it to be able to print the whole page and not cut off the sides and top?
    Thank you

    Printing with no margins in mostly a printer setting.
    As there is no such feature in my printer, I don't know if it's a setting ruled thru the menu item named (in French)
    Paramètres d'impression…
    or if it's ruled thru the menu item named (in French) Imprimer.
    When the setting is done, define the margins to zero in the Inspector of Documents.
    In Numbers, it's easier : there is a box to check to use the printer's smaller margins.

  • Printing with Border off centre

    When i try to print a 4x6 print with a border the print module is putting the following minimum margins: L 0.35 R 0.32 T 0.28 B 0.53 so the rpint is off centre. I can't make these any smaller and making them all 0.53 looks to big. Any ideas it doesn't put the image centrally?
    I tried resizing the image in PSE5 editor to exacly 4x6 but made no difference.

    I tried borderless and it does set the margins to zero. However when I put in 0.2 cm and print it doesn't come out quite right. Looks fine on the LR preview. Cell dimension in LR are correct at 14.84x9.76 but actual print is 14.6 x 9.8 and sightly off centre (L 0.15 R 0.25).
    This is much better than I was getting as had a look in the Canon print properties and under Page Layout in the Borderless section there is a slider "Amount of Extension". I set this to the left so the minimum and got a big improvement.
    That's close enough to be usable at least tks Jao

  • Printing with Epson XP-950

    I use a Mac Book air operating on OSX 10.9.5 and Photoshop Elements 11 and print via a wired connection to an Epson XP-950 A3 Photo printer.
    All worked fine providing good quality prints across all size and paper quality range. Recently a change has happened. Regardless of which settings are set prior to printing (size and quality) the printer produces a 6x4 low quality print with a border.
    I contacted Epson who provided me with their Easy print software, and the printer works perfectly using this. However the Easy print method is very drawn-out process requiring pictures to be transferred to it, rather than direct print usually available with the Photoshop system.
    I have had the systems on my Book air looked at by Apple who say all is Ok and should not prevent correct printing.
    Can you please see if you can cast some light on this problem and hopefully provide a solution?

  • Print with lr5 vs lr3

    Recently upgraded to lr5, now when I print a custom package it prints unwanted borders and cut of portions of images.
    Printing in lr5 to Canon Pro9000 MarkII, custom package using 8.5x11 paper with 5 different size cells.  Each cell is adjacent to outside edge.  Paper is set up to print borderless via "Print Settings and Page Setup" and 0 margins in lr. When print is complete there is about an 1/8 inch border all around entire 8.5x11 sheet and the images are significantly chopped.
    FYI no borders show when looking at the print view/module in lr and the edges of the sheet show 8.5x11 in accordance to  ruler/guides.
    When I perform the exact same print with exact same settings and images in lr3 it prints with no border and no cutting of images.
    Any ideas???

    Sorry for the late response.  I have not yet tried a new driver from canon, but I will  as soon as I get a chance.  I am a little sceptic about it being a canon driver issue as I believe the drivers are written to work properly with OS releases and not necessarily 3rd party software applications such as lightroom, and like I said lr3 works just fine today with the current driver.
    Just to be clear I agree with Rikk that it appears that lr5 is having issues telling the canon driver how it wants the image printed on borderless paper which obviously seams likely that it could be a driver issue. So it would be silly for me not to try reinstalling a fresh driver straight from canons site.
    Work Around... Currently to combat this issue this is what I am doing.  I set the page to be 8.5x11 with ".12" margins (not borderless) then I set up my cells and place them as far against the edge of the borders (that lightroom is showing on screen) so that I can get the images to fit and arranged properly then print.  This works flawlessly (when printing with a bordered paper setup), all images print in cells with no obvious cropping.
    Another approach that I could us as a work around is to use lr3 but hey I paid for lr5 so this will work for now, unless I can determine the cause.
    I will update this post if I get a chance to reinstall driver.

  • Web Analysis report is not coming with the border/logo/heading while print

    Hi All,
    I am using 9.3.1 version of hyperion planning were Web Analysis report is not coming with the border/logo/heading while printing with the option "print all object", Only the data grid is coming in the print. If I use "print screen" it is coming with border/logo/heading but it gives a screenshot of the report, that won't cater out need.
    So please suggest us with a resolution to have border, logo and heading, while using Print all object.
    Thanks with regards....

  • How do I print multiple (4) photos on one page with a border around each?

    How do I print multiple photos on one page with a border around each? I've gone the contact sheet route and adjusted the number of columns but there's only outer margins and very little white space between the photos down the middle of the page.

    Ok, now I feel stupid! I always thought I was printing 6 x 4 but now I realise I can't have done!!
    The photos that I used to print are approx. 5.2" x 4" (i.e. 4 fitted nicely on a page & I had to cut the boarder off).
    I guess I just need to play with different sizes under the 'custom' option in order to get the biggest possible picture!
    Thanks for the help

  • How to to print an .indd document with a border around the edge?

    I have an Indesign document that I want to print with a slight border around the edge.
    I print this after exporting it as a PDF.  But when I choose the various combinations of 'print printer's marks' in the export settings, none of them seem to work.
    I want just a simple thin border line around the edge of the document to print.  I don't want the interior body to print (which it sometimes does).
    I know this can be done, because on some of my .indd documents it works... but I can't figure out what I did to get it to print that way.
    HELP!
    and thanks....
    jn

    Thanks... the visible guides setting change took away the purple interior rectangle.
    But it still doesn't print the border outline.
    Here in text form is a summary of the .indd file settings that does print a border correctly, as I like it to.
    The relevant paragraph under Marks and Bleed has crop marks off... and document bleed settings on.
    I wonder what I'm missing?  Sometimes I wished Adobe just used plain english... like 'print border outline of document'!
    Thanks!

  • Trying to print to paper with a "border" around it

    I have set up a document (letter) to print to the C7280 printer ( XP with word 2003) - 2 pages set up for duplex; 8 1/2"x11". I print to a plain piece of paper and the top margin is approximately 1 inch down, same on the bottom.
    I now want to print to some "stationery". The front side of this paper has a 1 inch border all around. When I print to the "stationery"paper, the top margin drops down so it is now 2 inches from the top of the page. Consequently the bottom of the page now prints into the border.
    Does the printer have something built in that makes it think that the bottom of the border is now the real top of the page.
    I never exit word during this whole process; all I do is replace the paper.
    Same thing happens with word 2007 and Vista.

    I do not know of any settings that can be changed.  One thing I have done in similar situations is to cut a small strip from a Yellow Sticky pad and place this on what would be the top right edge of the printed page.  Remove after printing.  This might work for small quantities, it will not be a good solution if you are printing in quantity.
