Chart size reduces when copied - any fix?
I created a chart in Numbers '08 and want to copy it to save as an image file. I'm trying to insert it into a document to print out at high resolution .
When I copy it to a graphics program it saves it as a tiny chart less than 1 inch square - no matter how big I make it in Numbers before copying.
When I copy it to a Keynote slide and try to export it as as a tiff at the highest quality, it saves as only 72 dpi. I need it as at least a 300 or 600 dpi.
Any advice? Thanks!
Patrick,
Put Numbers into Print View mode and make your chart nice and large, filling a page. Then Print that page to PDF. Now drag the PDF file into your document that you plan to print at high resolution. It should look fine if it's a normal 2D chart. Some effects, and 3D, don't print quite as well, but better than what you described.

HP LaserJet MFP M476dw paper size mismatch when copying or scanning from ADF
We have HP Color LaserJet MFP M476dw that has an issue when copying or scanning from the ADF.
Put a single A4 sheet in the ADF and choose copy, with all settings correct & no resizing, and the output copy is moved down the page (increased top marging by a couple of inches).
My initial thoughts were a paper size issue (e.g. treating A4 as Letter or vice versa) but all settings look correct. I have even done a reset and started over and the problem remains.
If I take the original and place it on the flatbed and copy from there with all the same settings then it works fine.
There is a similar issue when scanning from the ADF. Again, scanning from the flatbed works fine.
I've tried all I can think of. Does anyone have any further suggestions? Could it be a fault in the ADF?

Final Cut doesn't playback when copy any files over network
First, i want say a thanks for all guys who help us here. Thank you very much. Much appreciate.
Now, problem...
My Final Cut works perfect sice a starded used 2005, never i have a one problem.
But last week i discover this:
When a copy any files between macs over a network the final cut doesn`t play in the sequence. nothing happening. but if i stop copy in the finder, it ok, everything back normal again.
I try using a project over a network and its perfect, fine.
only if i copy anything in the finder and final cut doesnt play.
Guys, anyone have this problem? Its normal?
I dont know, i try many this before i post here and nothing works.
Ps.: I have two imac i7 and this two have same problem.I hope i understand you right.
when you copy a file from one network to another sometimes the file paths are lost. Like if you have a drive called FCP HDD on one cpu and FCP HDD3 on another. The original path is associated to the copied files on FCP HDD drive and not the FCP HDD3 drive so a path would be lost there.
If you are connected via gigabyte ethernet cable and the imacs are synced then there would only be a latency problem as the gigabyte ethernet is slower than sata and FW 400 or 800.
If you are just coping the source media (meaning the files you captured from the cam) then all of your paths will be new based on the place you copied them too.
so if i have a project like 'My Commercial' and that is the name of the project file then it is it own project. The media within that project is associated to which ever drive you put it on.
If i move the project to another computer then the media is not there.
Why? Because the project is looking for the name of the original drive which may not exist on the imac you moved the project too. Unless you have a server.
Also, Even if you do move the media files to the drive that IS connected to the new computer the drive is most likely to have a different path for the media.
What you want is to connect the 2 cpus in a way that allows drive sharing.
Do you get the red 'Media Offline" error in the timeline? -
CRVS2010 Font size reduced when exported to pdf from web or VS2010 IDE
I found much the same issue on this post:
[CRVS2010 Beta - Printing incorrectly using VSCR2010;
I have checked the SP1 docs and this issue is not addressed. I downloaded the runtime CRforVS_redist_install_64bit_13_0-1.zip. I found it using the link in this post [Re: Printing Crystal Report decreasing font Size in web.; No joy.
I have tried to utilize the info referenced in this post,[Re: CRVS2010 Beta - Printing incorrectly using VSCR2010] the link you gave seems to generate a 404. No joy.
I already used every phrase I could think of in the box in the upper right hand corner of the page as you suggested in other posts.
I am surprised that editing registry keys has been the work around for so many years and versions of CR. There also seems to be many conflicting versions of registry edits for the different versions of Visual Studio. I was unable to find any specifically for VS2010.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

BTW The issue occurs whether on my dev machine (localhost) or the production server.
On my dev machine I am running Win7Ultimate with IIS 7 64 bit
Web Server runs Windows Server 2008 R2 64 Bit
When I open regedit, all of my entries start with HKEY_xxxxxxHi Steve,
The registry key to modify for cr4vs2010 is

Photo size reduced when attached to mail app, from PHOTOS APP in OS X 10.10.3
When I try to attach a photo from photos app to mail app, the photo size is reduced, even 'ACUTAL SIZE' is selected in mail app.
I have tried out to solve this issue, but could not find any way out. Is this a bug in PHOTOS app? Previously it was happening with iPhoto also, which was subsequently rectified by an iPhoto update.
Pl. help, if anybody has any solutionI made a mistake, sorry. I meant something different than I wrote.
When you share the photo from Photos to Mail, there are no quality settings in the Share dialog at all. The email window will only have the the options "Actual size", "Large", "medium", .... but no compression settings.
Actual size send the actual pixel size. But it is not clear, how badly the quality will be reduced by the compression.
That is why I compared the result to the file sizes that I get, when I use "File > Export", where I can select the quality.
I found that the compression and quality in "Share > Mail > Actual Size" is similar to "File > Export" with the JPEG Quality setting "High". -
How do I keep the same size slide when copying/pasting in Keynote??
I have several presentations in Keynote. But when I copy from one, and paste into another, The slde is now shorter, and not as long. as I try to "stretch" it out, it becomes higher also at the same time, and I loose part of my slide.... Any help would be much appreciated...
Try and activate either track # column, or album column header.

Folder size changes when copied
I bought two identical external hard drives. They are both formatted the same - Mac OS extended journaled.
When I copy some large folders from one drive to the other, and then check their exact sizes with get-info, sometimes they are identical and sometimes they are different, usually in a small amount.
Should I be worried that I'm losing some data? Or is it common that folders are not read accurately to the last bit, but that they are in fact identical?Really? I'm the only person who has ever seen this? I make a copy of a large folder from one Mac extended journaled drive to another Mac extended journaled drive and the new copy is slightly different in size, per get-info?
Surely I'm not the only person encountering this...
Can anyone advise? -
Unknown error when copying any object from Illustrator to Photoshop
When trying to copy an object from Illustrator CS5 and paste it to Photoshop CS5 on Windows 7 I get the the following error when I switch from Illustrator to Photoshop:
The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [pdf!]
This only happens between Illustrator and Photoshop - copying an object to InDesign works fine.
I deleted the full Adobe preferences folder on D:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe but that doesn't help.
Am I the only one with this issue?
QThere's definitely something wrong.
Have you rebooted your machine recently?
I'm on a Mac, so maybe something happens on Windows that I'm not aware of.
Let's see if anyone on a Windows system has any ideas.
Anyone? -
Netcenter Drive Disconnects When Copying: Error -36
I recently purchased a 250 GB Western Digital Netcenter Drive for my network. Model Number: WDXE2500JBN
I am able to connect directly to the drive by using either the Network browser in Finder or mapping to the drive directly using "Connect to Server" in Finder with the IP address of the drive, i.e.: smb://10.10.10.10/shared
The drive inconsistently disconnects when copying any amount of data (I am trying to backup my iTunes). After a few minutes of copying I receive the following error:
'The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "" could not be read or written. (Error code -36).'
I have tried to reconnect, reboot, restart, the computer, router, Netcenter and still Finder gives me the message after copying approximately a gig worth of data.
If you have some suggestions or thoughts, I would greatly appreciate it-
I also have a Windows 2000 and Windows XP machine on my network and they are able to copy and connect to the drive without any issues.

I am trying to get a good copy of my home video on DVD using IDVD. On editing the video all the viewing screens show the video perfectly in HD. When I burn the video to DVD all the end results are buzzy with squiggly lines. Any fix? Thanks?
Hi
There are several layers to this Q
A. There are no HD in DVD - DVD is as standard only SD-Video what ever tools used to produce it !
iDVD or DVD-Studio Pro or Roxio Toast™ - will only make SD-Video on DVD
B. DVD can be better or worse
• Using "Share to iDVD" is no good way - Better is Share to Media Browser and as Large (NOT HD as result will be worse)
• Using iMovie'08 or 09 or 11 - are not tools to chose if highes quality is of importance - iMovie up to HD6 or FinalCut any version is far better as they send over all lines to iDVD and not only every second one.
• Using Right encoder quality depending on movie and Manu duration is very important
• Use of high quality brand of DVD - is important - I use Verbatim DVD-R
• Type of DVD - DVD-R plays on more DVD-Players (even old ones)
• Burn speed - I set it down to x4 - resulting in less burn errors - plays on more players
• I secure a minimum of 25Gb free space on Start-Up Mac OS hard disk as iDVD and Mac OS needs this and it can not be taked from other hard disks - has to be here.
• What You feed iDVD does matter

I have several old Kodak Photo CD with PCD image files. I am now using Photoshop CS5. Some years ago while using Photoshop CS4 I copied a file: "Photo CD.8BI" from an older, CS2, version to the Plug-ins/File Format folder of CS4. This does not appear to work with CS5. Any fix?
It can be made to work, but you have to run the 32 bit version of Photoshop CS5, and as I recall there's an additional DLL called pcdlib32.dll that's needed from the old installation.

Different photo file sizes when copied back from external HD
I backed up some photos to an external HD (80GB, same size as in my iMac at the time), with Mac OS Standard format, under Tiger. The internal HD crashed, taking much unbacked-up data with it to the digital beyond.
Now with my new Leopard iMac (and wisdom acquired by experience), I have noticed a different file size on the different drives after copying the photos back.
Other posts have pointed out differences in memory allocation / block size as the culprits, however, can that make the large difference seen in my case?
Example 1 is a Tiff file of 8.2 MB on the external HD, which shrinks to 6,8 MB when copied to the 500 GB iMac drive (taken from the Get Info window)
Example 2 is a JPEG which shrinks from 1.2 MB to 552 KB when copied over.
Examples 1 & 2 also shrank to 6.8 MB and 576 KB respectively when copied from the 80GB external drive to another, 320GB external FAT32 drive.
So my question is: Am I somehow losing something with the shrinking files? Does memory allocation/block size difference make that big a difference?
Thanks for your help.I think I ought to mention that I also have a new laptop and have experienced file sharing permission issues with some applications. Might this be part of the problem? (Although everything seems to be properly owned!)

i upgraded to lion when it first came out but today i tried to open my photoshop cs2 and its telling me the powerpc applications are no longer supported is there any fix out there for this
Lion is Not compatible with PPC (Power PC) based software, such as your older version of PhotoShop. Your choices are you can either upgrade to the newer version of PhotoShop, or you can backup your data and apps, erase your harddrive and reinstall Snow Leopard.
Hope this helps -
