Chart Tool Settings in WAD.

Hello,
Could some body guide me through steps of bringing legend in the chart's displayed in my web report.
As of now one chart is displaying legend at right side but none of other are displaying legend so how do i get it.

in Web Application Designer,
Edit the chart (right click on the chart icon from the template)
in BW3.0 or BW3.1
Right click on the center of the window (on the chart : column, line.... as you have defined it), select CHART OPTION.
Select the tab "LEGEND"
Select where you want the legend
in BW3.5
in overview select tab legend, visibility : yes, alignement : bottom, top, east, west

I'm using a pc, (windows 8.1,) and I cannot get a thick and thin line with CS6. I want to draw, but I cannot get any linework like I should. I also use Sketchbook Pro, and ToonBoom, and I get wonderful linework. But not with Photoshop.

I'm using a Fujitsu T901 laptop, with a stylus pen. Painting works great in Photoshop, but for drawing there is no sensitivity at all. Frans Vischer

Selection Tool settings

My selection tool settings got messed up and now I can't scale objects arbitrarily - but only by the transform tool/ resetting the W/H at the top toolbar. I've searched everywhere and can't find where I can readjust those settings. Someone help!

Whenever this happens (it happens ocassionally and it's so annoying) I just wipe my preferences.

The Best Chart Tool?

I looking for a chart tool to use in jsp and export
chart to image format (gif or jpg).
This lib must have direct connect to db by jdbc.
Somebody knows which one can be the best choice?.
Any suggest are welcome?

JFreeChart is great. I've tried RChart as well, but it's limited, and not as robust as JFreeChart. RChart is good if you want, quick, easy charts with little coding. JFreeChart is best if you want more complex charts with many more options.

Saved Tool Settings

Why can’t we save tool settings? I want to have a few different rectangle tools on my tool bar that have different default settings. So for example I could select one that would just be a box outlined in red with no fill color, and another would be completely yellow with the fill at 50% opacity. That would be SO useful! Instead I have to change settings manually each time...

Do you have any issues with the display when your using the regular laptop screen? What type of cable connection are you using? Do you have another monitor that you can connect your laptop to?
Below is a document with some basic troubleshooting for the monitor. Under screen is discolored the document suggests pressing the auto button on the monitor. Does that have any effect or fix the issue?

I can allow pop-ups from certain sites in Tools/Settings, why then can I not also block pop-ups from certain sites since Firefox doesn't always manage to block them?

Whenever I visit, for instance, merriam-webster.com an ad from groupon invariably pops up in a new window.
OK, so Firefox does not manage to block it although I have this option checked in Tools/Settings/Content.
But why can I not enter the URL of the groupon ad and manually block it?
I can allow pop-ups from sites of my choice in Tools/Settings/Content, I think I should also be able to block sites?

Select Tool settings?

Is there a way to modify the select tool settings? In previous versions, the select tool would only select the box that held an image, not hte image itself, for that you used the direct select tool. For some reason in Version 5 the regular select tool also selects the image if you click on it directly. This drives me nuts when I go to move something and only drag the image past the clipping area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you get a "donut" coming up? This is called the content grabber and can be disabled by going View > Extras > Disable Content Grabber. If you don't get that and are selecting the content with a single clik something else is wrong but I highly suspect the donut...
P.S. InDesign CS5 is actually Version 7, Version 5 in CS3...

Chart XML country settings on WAD

Hi all,
just a couple of questions about charts on WAD:
- Where can i change the country configuration for charts ?, i need to change the format from 1,000 to 1.000.
I've hear about a XML related to the chart settings but i can't find it.
- i'm using a data table for the X axis on the graph, one of the data series is a % value and it needs to be represented with the "%" symbol. Can i change the number format for just one serie.

The paremeter for number format is the language, according to the language is taken , or . as the thousand sepparator. The XML tag for the setting is this one:

if is the IGS.XML file that you say. Is there any way to check the file from the client or i need access to the IGS server ?

Result set too large in BI report; Safety belt settings in WAD

Hello All,
When we run a BI report, the error " Result set is too large; data retrieval restricted by configuration" appears. We did a search on SAP portal and found the SAP note 1127156, whics recommends the configuaration of safety belt to limit memory used.
Acoordingly the cust table RSADMIN has been configured. But on the web template side, we need to configure the changes as well. The note says:
"1. Use the context menu Properties / Data Provider in a BEx Web Application to maintain the "safety belt" for a Query View.
2. Choose the register "Size Restriction for Result Sets".
3. Choose an entry from the dropdown box to specify the maximum number of cells for the result set.
The following values are available:
Maximum Number
Default Number
Custom-Defined Number
Behind "Maximum Number" and "Default Number" you can find the current numbers defined in the customizing table RSADMIN (see below).
4. Save the Query View and use it in another Web Template."
I am trying to locate these options in the context menu in Web Applications designer but in vain.
Can anyone help...

This option is not available in WAD, it will be available when you run the web template under settings, Data Provider for the standard template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN.
If you have a custom template you will have to use the Dataprovider settings web item in your custom template to change the values during runtime.

How to clear all eventcombMT lockout tool settings?

We have an eventcombt user that cannot get any results returned when running the tool from their workstation after a name and Windows account change. It works for other accounts with the same security memberships.
We need to clear all the saved eventcmbmt settings out of a user's profile so all remembered settings and credentials are cleared as if the user is using the tool for the first time on a brand new PC
Are there settings stored in the registry and appdata?

You can clear the search using "Clear search". Registry is not the storing area (except explicit credentials). Not even the app data.
I believe cache is in DLL. Captured by Procmon.

Maybe there is another problem then.
The user is logged in as a different user and using Runas "different user" to run eventcombmt as a domain administrator user, selecting the built in search for account lockouts, then substituting those old event IDs that it puts in by default for
event 4740. Then entering the user ID we are checking for lockout in the text field.
When the user runs the query on his workstation, it finishes instantly and shows no results. I don't see any error displayed to see why it is not working.
I can run the same query using "runas administrator" for UAC prompt (add domain admin account as admin credentials) enter the same info and it runs the query fine for me on a different computer and the account I use has the same group memberships
as the account the other user used.
Does evencombmt log errors somewhere to tell you why a search fails to run?
Is there a more modern tool available that will show the same lockout information (display source of lockout, not just tell you the date and time the account was locked out)?

The other two I cannot.

As you can see both of these are from two different versions of photoshop.
The tools can be found in the left toolbar. the two pens are in the same pen group and the remaining are in the shapes group. Press mouse button on the icon in the left tool bar and wait a few seconds then the flyout will appear. Any icon with a triangle in its corner has a flyout selection of tools.
For a beginner, I would recommend using shapes instead of paths (unless they are required) for learning. As you will be less discouraged when trying to change simple settings like its stroke or fill. Both shapes and paths will give you a vector shape, one is a bit easier to use and the other is a true path instead of a mask. But both will give you a clean edge and are scalable.

PS CS4: Crop tool settings disappear as i tab through

I just received a new Macbook Pro laptop from employer, running Mac OS 10.9.4 and have Photoshop CS 4 Extended installed. I've been using PS for decades, last version used was CS2. I've never encountered this before.
In the Crop Tool options at the top left, if I enter 10 inches wide, tab to resolution (leaving vertical clear), the width setting disappears as soon as I enter something for the resolution. Tabbing back to re-enter width, the resolution entry disappears. Back and forth, back and forth. ARRRRGH. This happens if tabbing. i think it happened on a mouse click too but when checking just now mouse click worked ok..
This happens when I focus on only the vertical and resolution settings too.
Anybody else experiencing this? My co-worker right there (pointing left) says his does the same thing (CS4 on previous generation Macbook Pro) but over the past year he's gotten used to it. Is this a new "feature"? What am i missing? I would like to work the old way which doesn't sound unreasonable to me.

The crop tool always works like that, even though you enter precise values you can still make the selection as small/big as you like however once you accept the crop it will be the size you specified.
You could try using the Marquee tool, set Style to Fixed Size, enter the values you want and select the area you want to crop(this time it will remain the size you want it to be) and go to Image->Crop.
PPI matters only when printing, low PPI won't give you smaller files, only pixel dimensions count

i need u to make dynamic charts in a web based project.. i got through some of the tools like SVG, JFreeChart, JCC Kit...
its hard to me to choose, which one is best visual wise and peroformace wise.. my most of the graphs are either.. pie, vertical, or horizontal pie.. graph..
i need some tools in tht which will be open source.. or any one had a experienced of workin with this tools. then pls guide me by sendin links and other infor..
if anyone knw any new tool.. which will be more benificial for me then pls help.. i m in the middle of my project.

Hi,
I've only tried JfreeChart till date and was rather comfortable with it.
The reason that I've pick this is because it's one of the few that allow applet chart. This is rather useful when you can dynamically zoom in and out of the chart.

HVX Footage from FCP into Pro Tools Settings

I just finished editing a 16 minute video shot on the Panasonic HVX at 720p24. I exported the OMF and a QT video, but our sound editor can't get everything to sync up right. The FCP sequence plays the video at 23.98 and the OMF audio imported at 24 fps.
When I open the video in QT Player, the frame rate says 23.98, but the playback frame rate is 24 fps.
We have tried several pro tools setting and the video never syncs up properly with the TC Window burn.
Our sound editor is using ProTools LE.
Any suggestions?

I'm going to cut and paste the reply my audio guy sent me:
"It is most likely that the Pro Tools system or version being used does not
support 23.976. Yes, 23.976 shows up in Pro Tools as 23.976 -- not 23.98
23.976 was not supported in Pro Tools until version 6.4 and above. I am not
an LE expert but its possible that LE or older versions of LE do mot support
23.976.
Also, 23.976 does not work with a non "HD" Pro Tool Hardware when used in
conjunction with a USD sync interface (such as the older Mix or Mix plus
hardware). This does not relate to LE but is might be good information
anyway. In the case of the "mix" generation of hardware, you can free run it
against Quicktime. if you sycncing to video tape you can hotrod older
hardware to run in 23.976 by syncing it with the newer generation sync
interface -- replace the USD interface with a Sync I/O interface and using
word clock as sync instead of Digidesign video "superclock." In that case
you need to be on version 6.41.cs4.
One workaround would be to create a 29.97 Non Drop Frame OMF, which will
sync up with time code that will match number at every even second and will
not drift. I don't think you can easily translate the frame rate of an
existing FCP sequence, but you could find someone who can open it as 23.976
OMF in Pro Tools and translate it to 29.97 ndf or import the track from the
23.976 session into a 29.97 ndf timeline. In Pro Tools, its just a flip of a
switch convert a sequence to a different frame rate."
Just as I figured...his version of ProTools might not support 23.98.
