Charts of CR2008 not working in CR2011

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with Crystal Reports. I created reports with CR 2008 wich worked fine and looked as they should, but when I open the same report in CR2011 the charts are looking really bad. For instance a bar chart in CR2008 has a normal width and all descriptions are set. If I view the same report in CR2011 the same graph is shown with lets say a fifth of the original width and instead of the descriptions (of the key figures) the technical names of the key figures are shown.
[CR2008 - example image|http://www.materialordner.de/Y3abWLhCh3cayToiE8MHWCZoIswBE63s.html]
[CR2011 - example image|http://www.materialordner.de/J27ID4s4KHqPXic3va2HpKgisy3bDXRb.html]
The same issue occures when I want to see the report through InfoView.
What am I doing wrong?
Regards.

there is no other difference
and you have verified the database
what if you create the chart from scratch on 2011
( delete the chart leave the data)
then just add the chart back in again.

  • Chart Expert option not working in CR 2011

    Hello,
The Marker Shape option on the options tab on the Chart Expert, does not save the option that you select. For example, if you select the diamond option from the drop-down list, diamond do not appear on the report. This didn't work in CRXI or CR2008 either. Is this on a list of things to fix? There is an option for this on the Chart Options dialog box that works, but it isn't as convenient because I often forget that the dialog box exists.
    Thank you
    Tracy
    Q7

    Hi Tracy,
Looking through Adapt I see this has been tracked multiple times and for multiple types of Charts, sometimes they are fixed, sometimes they are Postponed and some times they are simply marked as will not be fixed.... meaning we don't have control over the bug.
The problem is the Charting Function is a third party dll and they can't fix the issue, so we can't either obviously. There are also two parts to the Charting function, Some part, the general Option is something we can get to but the extended features is something we can't get to through our SDK's.
There have actually begin dropping the Third party dll and we've begun creating our our Java Charting resource. I don't know if there are any plans to port it over to CR 2011 for Windows, it is for the new CR for Enterprise Java Designer.
So unfortunately your only option is to find the work around you did use and make a note somewhere what you did last time....
    Thanks again

  • Chart totalsDisplay is not work on "DataSelection"

    Hi all
I want to show that selected four data. (Chart Property > Data Binding > Data Selection)
and then how to show  this selected data total display ?
    I try to this
    DS_1.setTotalsDisplay("00A01CLWSAYP8FTIBQCIGWHCX", TotalsDisplay.SHOW);
    DS_1.setTotalsPosition(Axis.COLUMNS, TotalsPosition.AFTER);
    CHART_1.showTotals(true);
    Is it correct ?

If you want the chart to display only the totals, make sure that they are in the result set (e.g. using the initial view or the script your have shown above). And then use something like
    {"<dimension>": "(RESULT_MEMBER)"}
    as Data Selection property.
The Data Selection tool is unfortunately not perfect and does not always allow you to interactively select what you might want.
You can select any row or column and later edit the value to look like I pointed out above.

    Hi Shanu,
You can check ULS log to see if anything unexpected occurred when open either "Data & Appearance" or "Advanced Properties" .
For SharePoint 2010, by default, ULS log locates in
    "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS"
You can check the ULS log by following these links:

  • Report using charts not work on non-development machine

using visual studio report uses charts.  works fine on development machine when I move the web app to a test machine which does NOT contain visual studio, the chart report does not worknote: other reports which only display data records work fine. the space where the charts should be displayed contain the following two lines CrystalReportViewer - CrystalReportViewer1 Error: Fail to render the page.  any help would be appreciated

    Solution suggested worked for me.
On my test server Crystal was trying to use the c:\temp directory to write the temporary images, my report always ran ok on the test server.  On the live server CRW was running under with the ASPNET account and / or my own user account.
I ran FileMon and filtered on the aspnet_wp.exe process across both servers and ran the application up to the point of generating the issue.  The FileMon output from the test server showed no issues we as the output from FileMon off the live server showed an access denied message.
I gave access right to the relevant accounts on the relevant folders on the live server and the report ran fine.

  • Conditional formatting in the chart  does not work after 10g to 11g upgrade

W e have upgraded from 10g to 11.1.1.6.8 recently. For all the reports conditional formatting for charts is not working for us which used to work in 10g.
While researching , i have found that advanced xml needs to be modified. So i changed xml where there is 'untypedLiteral' to 'decimal' and saved the report. Inspite of saving , xml wouldnt change . It still shows as untypedLiteral.
I also tried to delete the conditional format and recreate again. But still it wouldn't work.
    Please advise.

  • Drill Down in Pie Chart not working in IE8 / Mozilla 5

    Hi Experts,
In my dashboards, drill down feature in Pie charts are not working if the flash is viewed in IE8 / Mozilla Firefox 5.
In IE7 it is working. Is there any browser settings required for this ? Pls suggest.
Drill down in column chart is working fine.
    Xcelsius Version: Xcelsius 2008 SP3 FP 3.5
    Browser Version: Firefox 5.0 / IE 8
    Many thanks,
    PASG

    Hi,
You may want to download Xcelsius 2008 with SP4.
SP4 will support the newer IE 8 (32 bits) for Xcelsius related issue.
As for FireFox 5 that came out last week, this won't be supported anytime soon.

  • Y min value not working in horizontal Flash Bar Charts

    Hello All,
Going crazy trying to work this one out.
I have a problem with a Flash Chart (APEX version 3.0.1.00.07)
The data mainly begins at 97 and goes to no more than 100, therefore I want the min to start at 96 so the results don't look to similiar. Why when I imput my minimum value, it does not work for Horizontal Flash charts ?
It seems to work for stack or vertical charts, can something be done via the "custom XML" ?

    select option "Same day"

    Hi Deb,
Both of your queries are using multi-series syntax i.e. returning more than one series of data, therefore your generated chart is actually generating 6 series rather than just the two that you're aiming for. You could try changing your queries to ensure they each generate a single series of information, which would then result in the extra Y-axis being applied to your "Series 2". Here's an example of what I mean:
    Series 1:
select null link, label, value from (
select 'test' label, 1 value from dual
    union all
select 'test2' label, 2 value from dual
    union all
select 'test3' label, 3 value from dual
    )Series 2:
select null link, label, value from (
select 'test' label, 100 value from dual
    union all
select 'test2' label, 200 value from dual
    union all
select 'test3' label, 300 value from dual
    )I hope this helps.

  • Bind Variable NOT working in APEX 4.0 within charts SQL

    All,

  • Drill down is not working for Pivot tables, but working for chart

I have two reports and trying to navigate betwen summary report to detail report. But details report is displaying all the records .The filter condition is not working and displaying all the filters .I have Case statement in my filter. But the summary report column where the filter condition is applied is aggregated in the RPD level. Does this might be the reason ?. Is it passing different type of data type to details report ?. The filter condition is not working for Pivot table .But Chart is working fine and displaying the only selected records based on the filter condition.
Please help me with the below issue.

    Hi sil174sss,
Per my understanding you are experiencing the issue with the excel report which have add the drill down action, after export to excel only the expanded nodes included and the collapsed nodes is not shown, right?
Generally, if we expand the nodes before export to excel then the excel will display the expanded details row and keep collapsed the details row which haven't expand, but we have the toggle "+","-" on the left of the Excel to help
control the expand and collapse, when you click the "+" you can expand the collapsed notes to see the details rows.
I have tested on my local environment with different version of SSRS and can always see the "+","-" as below:
On the Top left corner you can find the "1","2", this help to control the "Collapse All" and "Expand All".
If you can't see the "+","-" in the excel, the issue can be caused by the Excel version you are currently using, and also excel have limit support of this, please provide us the Excel version information and the SSRS version. You
can reference to this similar thread:
lost collapsing columns when export to excel
Please try to export other drill down report to excel and check if they work fine, if they did, the issue can be caused by the drill down action you have added in this report is not correctly, if possible, please try to redesign the report.
Article below about how to add  Expand/Collapse Action to an Item for your reference:

Good news: I've found that the directive
    -Dlog4j.configuration=/home/myServer/Oracle/Middleware/wlserver_10.3/server/bin/log4j.properties
    shuld be instead:
    -Dlog4j.configuration=file:/home/myServer/Oracle/Middleware/wlserver_10.3/server/bin/log4j.properties
    - noticed that <<file:>> ? VERY important...
This way the log4j logging works also on a standalone WLS.
