Charts / Second Y-Axis

Hi there,
first of all: really great tool - especially the tracing capabilities and the low overhead of the flight recorder are fantastic!
One thing which would be cool: the possibility to add a second y axis to the charts!
Thanks!

If you're wishing for a second Y axis in the charts in the JMX Console, then see the youtube video Cesar links to.
We are thinking about the possibility of actually adding a second Y axis in the JMX Console. Will not be for a while though.
If you're wishing for a second Y axis in the charts in the Flight Recorder gui, you can add one using the Design View.

  • Add second y-axis to chart

    Hi Everyone
I'm doing a formal report for a university project and would like to know how to add a second y-axis to a chart? I have 4 lines plotted on a scatter graph, 3 of the lines have values that are between 0 and 3 and the fourth line has values from about 1200 to 1500. I would like to add another y-axis so that the 3 smaller valued lines are on the second axis. All four lines must be plotted on the same graph with 2 y-axes.
I have tried searching the user guide but did not find anything
    Thanks in advance

    J.C,
In this version of Numbers, there is no built-in option to add a second axis to a Scatter Chart. The way to do it is to create an auxiliary column with the 2nd axis data scaled to match the other series. Plot the scaled data and then, using text boxes or tables, add a second axis and labels to your chart manually.

  • How do you extend a chart's x-axis range?

    Hello,
Is it possible to extend a chart's x-axis range to ten seconds, rather than the default five seconds?
I've attached a simplified portion of my code, which contains a DAQ Assistant connected to a chart. I've played around with the chart history length, sampling frequency, and sample numbers; however the chart's x-axis range remains a constant five seconds. I feel this is a relatively fundamental concept, but it eludes me.
    Settings currently set to:
    Sampling Frequency: 2k Hz
    Samples Read: 200
    Acquisition Mode: Continuous sampling
    Chart Update Mode: Strip
    Chart History Length: 1024
    Solved!

Thank you. I feel foolish as this was trivial:
    For those who don't know:
    Right-click the chart
    Select X-Scale->Properties
Under the Scales tab, enter your time range in the minimum and maximum boxes.

  • Feedback on impementing second horizontal axis using Flex 2.0.1

I am attempting to use the concept of a second horizontal
axis using Flex 2.0. It is not clear to me if it is supported by
the Flex 2.0.1 sdk although livedocs does provide an example using
secondVerticalAxis. A snippet of my code is attached with this
message. At runtime, the second series does not display. Any
feedback about usage of the component would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Thanks edbrendel.
So, since I am able to run Apache 2.2 as I want to, would I
be better of to use MySQL 5 or MS SQL Express if I want it to be
largely development, but also for my own stuff (my galleries etc.)
actually running pages served to the web?
I know of the technotes, a couple of them (incl. the MySQL
note on installing V. 5 as a datasource and all that), but never
saw that one...so thanks very much. I've manually added the Apache
2.2 file line in httpd.conf and added the file in the config area,
which always worked in the past with XP Pro and XP64...hope it does
with 2003 I had 2003 server when I first started playing, it was a
nightmare, I hope now that I've bought everything I can wrap my
head around it!). I just make sure I don't try to configure CF
until after manually adding the files, and changing the Apache
config file and restarting. Then I go into the administrator for
    the first time.

  • Chart options: Y axis scale

    Hi,
I created a bar chart for a report that simly displays the count for each distinct value of a field.  I would want the Y scale (which displays the count) to only present integer values (its a count, so it's obvious there can't be any non-integer values).  Currently it's set to auto select the range and the number of divisions, for which the range it's ok but the divisions don't always come out as all integers.  From what I can see, the only way to do this would be to set the min to 0, max to the max count on the report (which is normaly what the auto range does), and the number of divisions as the max count minus one.  I don't really see any other way.  Apparently there's no way to do this dynamically (like in a formula), and I don't think I can use static range values.  Is there any way to do this?  I just want to confirm what I know and see if there is any other way to do it.
Also, this is probably not the forum to post this, but just in case, is there any way to do this programatically in code without needing extra libraries or extra tools?
    Thanks,
    Diego

First of all, by static and dynamic data, do you mean the options for the chart?
Also, I don't want to display the max count on the chart.  I would just like to use it on the options for the chart's Y axis as the max value, although I don't think I need to, since the auto scale already does that.  I think the only thing I should need is set the number of divisions to display on the Y axis.  For example, if the chart has two bars, one for lets say color red, and one for color yellow, and lets say on the data there were 4 red and 6 yellow.  So the chart will have two vertical bars, one for red going from 0 up to 4, and one for yellow, going from 0 up to 6.  The chart will automatically make the range on the Y scale go from 0 up to 6, but it might make the divisions at say 1.5, 3, and 4.5.  But I would like it to not use decimal values for those divisions, instead only divide the axis on integer values, like on 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.  To do that, from the options the chart gives me, I can do it by setting a specific number of divisions on the axis (in this case it would be 5 divisions).  I just want to know if there is any way I can set that in a formula or something, of if it just has to be the same value for every report (without having to change it directly on the Crystal Reports editor, because the reports get generated automatically with different sets of data).
    Thanks,
    Diego

  • Dual Line Chart : Dynamic Secondary Axis

    Hello All,
I am currently working on Dual Line Axis to Compare  ANY Two KF's based on user Selection in the provided Dropdown boxes. Also, the data has to be switched between Month and Quarter based on the Radio button Group.
    Here is the Screen shot of the required output format. The KF1 and KF2 are filtered by code Chart.setSelectedValue(KF1 , KF2);
I am getting an error saying 'Can't Display data, At least one Measure has to be in Rows". I took 3 Measures in Rows and Calmonth in Column in the Default View.
Can anyone please throw some light how to achieve this ? The reason for the DUAL Axis is, One measure is $ Value and Second Measure is % Values.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Priya.

    Hi Priya -
That is a nice chart you have.
Only thing I could find that could be related is this note:
    http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1942481
It may or may not help.
Could you also specify which version of Design Studio you are using?

  • Can't Title Second Y-Axis

    Post Author: jlspublic
    CA Forum: Charts and Graphs
                                                      I
have a graph with two Y axes.  On the Chart Options dialog, Titles tab,
whatever I enter in the Data2 Title box is discarded when I click OK.
Based on posts to the old Forums, this appears to be a bug that has
been around since at least 2002.  Anyone have any idea how to get this
to work properly?  Any workarounds?  I am using CR XI Developer
    (version 11.5.0.313).-JLS

There is no "values in reverse order" checkbox in Numbers. There are a couple of ways to work around it, the best way is probably to create a third column of data that is the negative of your second column. Plot it instead of your actual data. Create a custom format for the Y2 axis labels where negative numbers don't have a minus sign but positives do.

  • Bar chart with dual axis plotting incorrectly

    Hi,
I have created a BAR_VERT_CLUST2Y, which has 4 series of data.
The problem I am experiencing is that when the data is charted, it appears that only the first series of data charts correctly (i.e. from the left axis). The second series of data charts from the right axis and the remaining series all chart on the left axis. I would have thought that the first and second series use the left axis and the third and fourth use the right?
I would be grateful if anyone had any suggestions how this can be resolved or if they have come across something similar and found a way around it, it would be much appreciated?
    Many thanks.
    P.

Xcelsius does not currently support dual axis. However, the workaround to this is to layer two charts on top of each other. You would then need to add line components and labels to complete the effect.

  • Chart - Legend Box Axis label

    Hello Expert,
Could any one show me how to increse the width and height of "Legend Box".
Also if any one let me know how to increase the space between to labels on x Axis
    Sagar

See this example and the related thread:

Basically, you need to customize the chart XML. That is quite easy to do.

  • WebI Combination Chart / Dual Y-Axis

    Hi there,
is there still no Dual Y-Axis chart component in WebIntelligence (XI 3.0)?
What options and workaround are there to create dual Y-Axis charts in WebI?
I thought of implementing Xcelsius-Flashs with Dual Y-Axis, but it's not very satisfying to me, that WebI can't show this chart-type by default.
    Best Regards
    Ulrich

Under the set of Bar Chart Templates, you will find a chart type call "Vertical/Horizontal Bar and Line" chart.  You can drag measures to the left(Y) and right(Z) axis as you like.  I see this in XIR2 and am pretty sure XI3.0 should have this as well.  Let me know if you see it.

  • How to rotate labels of a chart on x-axis?

    Hi,
I made a table, but because the labels for the values on the x-axis are too long, they are overlapping.
In excel, the text automatically gets slanted, so each label is readable.
How do I do this with numbers?
    Thanks!

Yeah, it looks like unfortunately with the stunning quality of the 3-D charts (great lighting, shadows) the engineers neglected something as simple as allowing the category labels to rotate with the graph.
Heck, it would be great even if the user could drag the category labels away from the graph a little bit. Or change their position at all!
Oh well, here's hoping Apple addresses these things with the next release...

  • How to adjust the scale on second Y-Axis in cfchart

    Hi,
I am using cfchart to show the bar graph and line graph in the same chart . Bar graph uses Y-Axis1 and line chart uses Y-Axis2 . Y-Axis1 represents the numeric value and  Y-Axis2 represents the percentage scale. the scale of Y-Axis1 depends upon the values of the data plotted but the scale of Y-Axis2 i.e for percentage that shoul  be fixed from 0 t0 100% . But as the Y-Axis1 scale adjusts the Y-Axis2 scale is being changed. But i dont want that to happen . The Y-Axis2 scale should be fixed from 0 t0 100 and the Y-Axis1 scale should be adjusted depending on the values . Please suggest a solution to this .
    Thanks,
    Sriram

In my opinion it is impossible to have two different scales on one axis in cfchart.

  • Chart - Adjust X-axis label orientation

    Hi Stine,
As of today we dnt have that feature in Xcelsius . In latest service pack 4( SP4 ) also this feature is not there.

  • Webi Chart Dynamic X Axis lenght

    Dear experts,
Is it possible to define an X axis as dynamic? I mean, is there a way that the chart size changes accordingly to the data show, i.e, if I choose to see only January (X axis) I would have a smaller chart (1 column only) but if I choose to see from Jan to Dec I would have a bigger chart since I would see 12 columns?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Inê

Hey Inês, You're correct, it is normal behavior of showing chart data if you have less object LOV's.
    Try these:
    Chart == >> properties ==>> Autofit Width & Autofit Height(if required).
    Hope it solves your prob.
    Gracias...!!
