Chat without history

Is there a way to keep a message but send a new message to the same person without previous messages included?

What are you talking about? This doesn't even make sense.

  • HOW TO DISPLAY ALL CHAT LOG HISTORY?

Hello, in 6.21 and before, there was a button which allowed you to open all of your chat history with the click of a button ("all time"). Now it seems like it opens up like... 5 more messages a time if you scroll up. This is useless.
Is there a way to get all the history data without having to search for a keyword at the start of your conversation?

It is coming the wrong time in my messages. I want it to have the same time zone as in my computer.
I want to fix the time in the skype messages and I also want to have more chat log history on the recent conversations (at least one week).
I also need more options on the writing format.

  • Authorization to change BOM without history requirements

    Hi Techies,
We are checking the design and validation of few scenarios in the testing server. During the testing we found that we are able to change the BOM which we have already changed with Change number without change number. Instead of an error message we are only getting a warning message stating the BOM has history requirements.
I found that we could do that only if we had the authorisation C_STUE_NOH assigned to the user profile.
I checked the transaction SU24 and for the transaction CS02 i found the authorisation C_STUE_NOH assigned and the authorisation proposal was YS.
I m a functional consultant and hence i m not able to come to a conclusion on this to know if this the reason which is allowing us to change the BOM without history and just providing an warning message instead of error message.
    Thanking you in advance.
    Kris.S

    Dear Krishu,
Below has been mentioned in OSS note: 420878. Check once again you have save as NO. Then go to tcode SU03 Object Class PP/ C_STUE_ROH
    Summary
    Symptom
In Customizing of the BOM, the history requirement is set or a BOM requires a history. Despite this, it is possible to process BOMS without engineering change management. The system only processes a warning message (29 045) which can be skipped.
    Additional key words
    CS02, change number, OS27, W045(29)
    Cause and prerequisites
    Authorization profile
    Solution
Check the authorization profile of the respective user.
    Example:
             C_STUE_NOH <OBJ>
                &_SAP_ALL    <AUT>
                    NOHIS      <FLD>
would have the authorization to process BOMs requiring history without a change number. In this case, if you change '*' to ' ' in NOHIS, you will no longer receive a warning, but rather an error message.
    Regards / US

    HI,
The link also requires you to be able to Answer a Video Chat (so you need the Internet speed)
It is also only about the iPhone and not the version of the Mac.
Basically it does not help move things forward.
Based on it's age I ignored the new Post.

    Hello everyone,
Is it not possible to voice chat without the video while using Messages and FaceTime? It appears quite ridiculous that when having a weak internet connection, one cannot even just switch off the video and continue talking.
    Please let me know.

  • P2p chat without group

    Hello everybody,
I am playing with cirrus and would like to set up a p2p chat without netgroup. I have made it work for two peers but when I increase the number of peer I got some problem.
    The design:
    I am using one sendStream per peers (Each of them initialize the sendStream (sendStream.publish("media")) and send a message at a regular interval on this stream). sendStream.send("hello");
every 10 seconds, the peers register themselves on a amfphp service which keep track of their id (random string), their cirrus peerID and a timestamp.
at this point they also ask the service for a list of other connected peers (timestamp not older than 11 seconds)
for each new peers connected (based on the service) every other peers create a recvStream that connect to the sendStream of each other peers. In case the recvStream stop (which happen for some reason ?), I restart it recvStream.play("media").
    The problem:
    When the thirs peers connect, not all peers receive messages;
I also get a event.info.code == "NetStream.Play.PublishNotify" which I do not why (does not happen when only two peers are connected.
    The solution?
I wonder whether it is because each sendStream can only handle one recvStream ?

The main reason is that NetGroup does not handle friends group
If I set a netgroup to send to my friends on facebook, I will successfully send them a message but in case they want to send a emssage back, they will send to everybody in the group which are not necessarely their friend (not all my friend are friends between each other). With netGroup I have  to create a group for each node and these groups should not be writable by the node's friends.
imagien  I have ten friends currently connected. it means I have to read from ten groups and I have my own group for me to write to them as a group. Furthermore if I want private message I have to send them through a specific channel.
It seems that in this case, a direct connection seems as good as netgroup, if not simpler.
Also since I want to udnerstand how things work, I would like to know whether a sending netstream can have more than one receiver.
I tried again with more simpler code and it seems that in case of flash peer to peer , netStream can only have one simulatenous suscriber. is it correct?
Does it means that NetStream.peerStreams is always of length 1 ?
the documentation does not talk about this and woudl like to know for sure.
If that is thes case I ll have to have a connection handler channel and maintain peer connection channel for each friends. In which case NetGroup might be easier, but still requires maintaing several netgroup and setting writing access to the node sendign message.
Note: the friend groups taht I want to setup is not intented to be used for chat (even if it could) but for data in a multiplayer game.
    Thank you for your help,
    Sincrely,
    Oohazard

So, I have a group chat with some people on skype and then somehow this person joins our group chat without anyone knowing. Usually when other people add others, it says "+"User added User". But apparently it doesn't show it in our group chat. We are mutual friends with this person on skype, but somehow they are getting into our group chat.

Hi and welcome to the Skype Community,
You can leave a group chat any time without compromising any of the separate conversation history or 1-on-1 conversation with the contact who originally invited you to the group. Take a look at our article on group chats explaining its features:
    https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA1005/how-do-i-start-a-group-instant-message-in-skype-for-windows-...
P.S.: Just out of curiosity: When you open the Windows discussion board do you see the big green "New Topic" button on top:
If not do you see any other button at that location?

  • Setting up secure chatting without a MobileMe account

    Hi
Some experimenting lead me to believe that it is indeed possible to setup iChat 4 to sign and encrypt messages without a MobileMe account.
    1. Open Keychain Access
    2. From the Keychain Access menu, choose Certificate Assistant > Create a certificate…
    3. Select Self-Signet Root and check Let me override defaults
    4. Click Continue until you come to the section Extended Key Usage Extension
    5. Notice the iChat Signing and iChat Encryption options
I am just curious, have anyone managed to actually setup secure chatting in a non-MobileMe chat account? Such as Jabber? Where do you get the certificates from? (I know self-signed certificates wouldn’t work.)

    Hi,
AIM allows several form of Encryption and the Apple MobilMe and the previous .Mac system are allowed.
There are Add-ons for AIM itself but I have not looked into whether they use sites that create certificates iChat can use.

  • Chat ID history

    Hello,
I understand that we are not able to retrieve any chat history from the skype network.
But is there a way I can prove that I did or did not have a conversation with a certain ID?
I need it for legal problems and would appreciate a quick response.
    Thank you.

    Hi, Aaron,
The short answer is, "No."  Like many other official channels of communications that are not released to the public, this is one of them.  Skype will respond to requests for information when filed appropriately by law enforcement agencies.
We need to start by contacting Skype Customer Service.  Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service

  • How to retain chat/iMessage history when syncing with new computer?

For years, I have synced each new iPhone that I’ve purchased with an older MacPro.
Recently, I bought a new iMac to replace the MacPro.
I chose not to use Migration Assistant and have not transferred any of the data from the older MacPro to the newer iMac, primarily because I wanted to completely ignore all the AAC and mp3/mp4 (lossy) music files from the old computer and replace that music on the new iMac with Apple Lossless Encoded files ripped from my CD collection.
Meanwhile, I bought the new iPhone 6. I have never synced this new phone with the new iMac. Instead, I set it up using a backup of my iPhone 5S that was on the older MacPro (or possibly in iCoud—can’t remember). I did this because I want to preserve older texts/iMessages on my iPhone. It’s my impression that that data ‘lives’ in the backups of our phones, so syncing it with a brand new computer would erase it, right?
The problem is, I don't want to use the music files/playlists on the older MacPro. I want to load my iPhone 6 with the newer music files and playlists found in the iTunes folder on my new iMac while still retaining the text/iMessage history from previous backups. Is this possible? If so, how do I make this happen?
I do not use iTunes Match and want nothing to do with it, so that is not an acceptable solution for me.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Message was edited by: peterparkerLA Just added a preposition that was left out of first draft.

When syncing with a new computer, technically, all information on your iPhone 6 will be erased. If you really want to keep the chat history/imessage, call history or even contacts, I suggest you backup your iPhone 6 to iCloud before the sync. After sync your iPhone 6 with your new computer, you can try Dr.Fone for iOS to extract chat history/iMessages, even contacts and notes from the iCloud backup file and save them to your iPhone 6 again.

  • Chat without server

    Hey,
I would like to create a chat that doesn't use a server. I know you can use MulticastSockets, which I intend to for some aspects.
What I would like to build is chat that uses the multicastsocket to see whos online. Then when I want to communicate to someone I open up a socket to that person - without using any server!
    Any suggestions?
