Apple Game Center - when will mods be brought in to admin for cheats?

One thing that gets on the pec-ends of many is the blatant cheating that goes on in Game Center. I don't know about anyone else, but I was led to believe that GC was doing to be different to OpenFeint, Agon, Crystal and whatever-the-feck-else there is out there. I'm guessing not.
Take a look at the leaderboard for Super Mega Worm; the top 25 are all in the two billions, with the top 14 at 2,147,483,647 (7FFFFFFF in hexadecimal, the largest possible integer to be expressed in 32 bits) when most non-cheating scores don't even crack 7 digits, and scores which are not a multiple of 5 when that's how SMW scores. Or Angry Birds Seasons - someone "scored" just short of a million in the Christmas levels, when everyone else was down in the 60-70,000 area because there was only one Christmas level available at the time.
The iDevices that are being used in these cases are clearly jailbroken - if Apple was true to itself, and genuinely trying to discourage hacking of its hardware, it would have moderators for GC, wipe out any blatant cheating, warn and/or ban the accounts they were done from, and the serials of any device used to prevent repeat offences. It wouldn't be that hard to do - or would it just make too much sense...?

I would like to have a cheat sheet that explains how to reference the different types of variables in Apex.
When and how do you use
1. Substitution variables (&myvar)
2. Bind variables (:myvar)
3. Pound? variables (#MYVAR#)

Where the confusion is ruzlis, is that when you purchase with Apple online in the UK, the product already shows the VAT of 20% being charged so the price you see is the price you pay, whereas in USA the Tax will be added later according to the zip code, and a further charge of environmental charges. These extra charge of $75 looks right to me. You are still getting it cheaper from the USA than if you bought in the UK.
I think you need to trust your friend a little more.
And of course if your friend ships it to you, then you still have the VAT to pay as it comes across the border.

Here is the terrible story with the great company Lenovo.
I bought a netbook for my bro on Nov 1st week(had a tough time to gather the money to buy one).
After buying the netbook, i reached home and when i swithched it on, i saw blue screens and BSODs (Awesome guys)... I went to the shop from where i bought the netbook on a working day (yes, i am working and i have to take a day off to go the place thus costing my one day's pay). I went there and they reformated the netbook and told me its good to go. I was happy.
I go home and after 2-3 days i again see BSODs and netbook not starting up probs. I post it here and get some solution which sometimes work(the press button for long time thingy) , then i installed Ubuntu on it(it took me 5 **bleep** attempts to install it cos it would get stuck in betweek always). After that Ubuntu went fine for 1 week and i tried the memtest that i got with Ubuntu (the one included in Windows is **bleep**!!, it comes out telling its all good), and the memtest that came with Ubuntu failed which gave me the info that the RAM is faulty or so.
I then take another day off( I loose another day's pay) to go to the service station because the idiots from the place i bought says that if I go then only will the service be done fast. I go to the service center and what do i see, 6-7 ppl with the same issue.. THANKS LENOVO. I then talked with a person there in the service center, he takes my machine and replaces the RAM. I run a memtest and its fine..
I then travel home (i work outside home state) and give the netbook to my bro and when he uses it , its fine.. and I come back to the state where i work. And my brother calls me in a week telling that it got some BSODs and its freaking dead. I come back to the state and get it and come back and call the place and told them to go to the service center. They asked 250Rs for them to go the service center as I couldnt take a leave from office that day. They went and after 1 week I got the netbook back(which was this Jan-feb). I then check the machine and its fine. After a week i checked it again and it gives me the same **bleep**!! LENOVO you're awesome.
And i cant send this piece of **bleep** to my bro. I have always admired LENOVO when it got it working from the service center but if it was just for a week then i should say LENOVO has no respect from my side.
AND now i want a refund. Its just 3 months now and I dont want to waste my money, my work , my time. I want a REFUND. Someone please let me know how to go about this. I feel cheated and the money i spent time in collecting gone a waste.

Just awesome, they didnt call back. I called them (Lenovo Service Center) and another guy took (third time third person).
NOW he is telling that i have to lodge a complaint to get it serviced and then only I will get a case ID. And he told me that he refixed the RAM and it worked fine so there was no need of lodging a complaint.
Now what the hell am i supposed to do? First time i went, I didnt know abt the policy of calling lenovo customer care to get it fixed. At that time custome care was down(first impression is the best impression), and the guy in the service center took it and said he will fix it and told me he changed the RAM.
Second time the ppl from where i bought the netbook went and did the same is what he is telling as there is no caseID.
These ppl are removing the memory stick without lodging a complaint, isn't this illegal? That too ppl in Lenovo only.
Someone better address this case carefully treating this as high priority!!

Arch Linux cheat sheet [PDF and ODG]

Hi, as far as I know, I already turn two Windows users to Arch, so I was thinking that would be nice to have a simple cheat sheet to help new users quickly.
Somethings maybe wrong and thats why I'm asking for help and contributions. Many new things I wasn't aware (like the new "No xorg.conf" philosophy, the departure of hwd and many other new things), I've been using Arch for almost two and a half years, so I even haven't tried the new Installation Framework (hopefully tomorrow a friend will install Arch, so I will have a chance). Many other errors must be in the grammar, I'm pretty lousy at English as you can see. And finally, maybe I just forgot something you may think that should be in the cheat sheet or something I put, but in the wrong way.

P.S.: The PDF was made using OpenOffice Draw, but, after many years, I still can't use offimatic software, so If anybody knows a better option please tell me (if you download the ODG will see that indentation was done with four spaces...).

Yeah, could it be. My attempt was to give a quick reference for common commands, to avoid reading all the man page when you only can't remeber wich one was the, i.e., --foreign switch. But encourage to read a lot more by giving the "pacman -[Q|R...] --help" section. The whole idea of the cheat sheet it's to remind a simple command you know that exists but can't remember the name or a specific switch. Anyhow, to include the "look for man pages, they still exists" could be an excellent idea (you know, this times when everything is a wiki or a search button away) because reading trough man pages provide a lot of knowledge.

EDIT: Included a "useful man pages" at the end of some sections and 100% more advices for free! :-).

That is not true.
Mountain Lion does not have Rosetta so it is not capable of executing PowerPC code. If you have MS Office 2004 that is coded in PowerPC code and will not run in Mountain Lion. What you need to do is upgrade to an Intel version of Office.

Cheating the Released date in order to be listed on top

My book is in the iBookstore, just released this week. But if you search by "Released Date", it doesnt show up in the first 100 listings. The first 100+ listings are publishers who are cheating the release date, putting things like January 5, 2025, or several December 2013 or 2014 dates in order to show up at the top of the list. I have emailed itunesconnect about this, but no answer so far.

And how is the phone supposed to know if it's you or a thief pressing the Sleep/Wake Button and sliding to power off?
You want a passcode required to power off the device? So... what if you forget your password? What then?

Including a "cheat sheet" in my iBook

Hi,
Just looking for some ideas on how I might achieve this.
I would like to include a "cheat sheet" document in my iBook.
I'm thinking a one-sheet document that would contain a summary of certain points, and that could be printed out by the reader for reference.
Could I print directly from the iBook? If so, how?
Or could I send an embedded PDF document to an email address that the reader would enter?
I know that Apple stuff is somewhat closed in terms of "disc access", so any ideas are appreciated.

Stock iBooks 2 navigation includes the ability to add highlights and notes, which includes the share icon in the top nav bar for printing/email. Try it on your device and see if that fits your needs.
Books are not apps, so I'm not sure what you mean by 'somewhat closed' - if you need more that what a simple book offers, you can use iBAs feedback menu to let Apple know and/or look into making an app to expand features you wish your users to take advantage of, etc.

I teach beginning Java and programming concepts at a local university. I am looking for a simple Java cheat sheet that shows basic design structure (comments, imports, class, psv main, etc.) in a template. I have an older one from Java 1.1 that I could modify, but I'm trying to save time. Can anyone help?

I would think to be a java teacher you would need a java certification.If I was going to take a class in java I would want my teacher to be java certified and have a cs degree.If they did not have this I would not even sign up for there class.How can you teach someone something that you your self don't even know?And the only true way to know if he/she has any type knowledge on the subject is to see some type of credentials. degrees,certification etc.Atleast be certified by the language you are teaching
