Check Application Server edition?

Hello,
How to check Application Server edition (Enterprise Edition or Standard Edition)?
In $ORACLE_HOME/config/ias.properties I have not found such information...

One is the Licence and the other is the Version.
For check the version you need to go to Link:[https://shop.oracle.com/pls/ostore/f?p=ostore:home:0] and check what are the differences between
Starndard Edition One
Starndard Edition and
Enterprise Edition
It depends in what you install, no matter version (well for lastest could), If you have only OC4J containers, and Apache installed is smaller and with more and more products, such as infrastructure and BI products you could get to Enterprise.

  • Script to check application Server Down

    Dears,
We are using HP-Unix and ECC 6.0 and Oracle 10g.
On CI we are using any script that sends a mail if any time instance goes down.
For this we have used logic of checking the message Service by logical group.
Now we also want to create one script for dialog instance but I am not getting the logic , I can check sevice dw* but not getting what command I should use or I can use some better logic.
    Please suggest.

I would setup a [Central Monitoring System (CEN)|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/9d/df1241c738f423e10000000a155106/frameset.htm] and install agents on each Application server. Then you can activate Availability Monitoring with Autoreactions which can also be used to send email alerts for a lot more than just "Uptime".

  • Sun application Server 9.0 and Struts

Hi all I am guessing this doesn't quite fall into this category, but I am not sure where exactly to put it. I am starting to develop an application on Sun's Application server using struts. The problem that I am encountering is that I don't know where to look for the equivalent of servlet.jar if that is indeed what it is called in Sun's application server (Edition 9.0). Any suggestions/advice would be great.
    Edited
I included the version number as it is possible that things have moved around from version to version.

I'd look for JARs like "j2ee.jar".
The important thing is finding the one that has "javax.servlet" package in it. Open the likely culprits until you find it.

    Hi,
    welcome to SDN!
To your problem: did you make sure the master password you set during installation is less than 9 charachters as discussed in the Installation Troubleshooting?
P.S. I'm moving this thread to the forum dedicated to the SAP NetWeaver Application Server, Java EE 5 Edition.

  • Application Server Platform Edition 8.1 2005Q2 fails to start - CLI156

I have installed and re-installed PE8.1 on my laptop many times (with security off). I followed Quickstart and after 60 seconds end up with CLI156. I have upgraded from XP Home Edition to XP Professional. I have been going round and round for the last 4 days. I have searched for CLI156 and have tried many options. Any pointers (if not memory references) would be appreciated.

  • How to edit flat file in application server

    Hi all,
I have requirment of flat file load. User will update flat file and I need to upload data in cube. I am done with loading data from application server flat file to cube Now I want to know where this file will be stored so user can update the data .
Do i need to store it some where in application sever only ? I checked my current file data but it's not in editable form.
Please let me know your expert suggestion.
    Thanks.
P.S. - Point will be provided as required.

Neither user or you can not upload or edit the CSV files directly from the AL11(Application level directories).
Using this Functional Module: ARCHIVFILE_CLIENT_TO_SERVER you can upload the file from your machine to AL11
Note: you must have an authorization to execute this FM in PRD! otherwise you can follow the below procedure.
    (Or)
As you data flow is from a flat file, you can ask your basis team to run a FTP program, so that when ever user give a new file every day, using the FTP program the latest file will upload into the AL11 directories. you can execute data using the Info package as usual  from AL11.

    Hi Tunde,
You can get the detailed version of all the 10.1.2 and 10.1.3 components using the below commands

    2. Source the applications env file under $ORA_CONFIG_HOME/10.1.3 directory.
    3. cd $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch
    4. opatch lsinventory -detail >> inv.out
    5. Review the inv.out file and check for the Oracle Application Server and other component versions.
    B. 10.1.2 Component Versions
    ========================
    1. Login in to Putty as application file system owner
    2. Source the applications env file under $APPL_TOP
    3. cd $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch - This will be pointing to 10.1.2 Home
    4. opatch lsinventory -detail >> inv.out
    5. Review the inv.out file and check for the Oracle Application Server and other component versions.
I hope this clarifies your queries, Please let me know the same.

  • How to check if a user session is active in Java application server

    Hi Experts,
We have a online scenario with a third party system by which a portal user will launch the third party application in a new window from portal. The SSO will work at the third party web application with the dynamic key that is generated by calling a webservice for that user. Now, as the user works on the launched screen, they will have to check whether the user (logged in portal) session is still active. ie., they will be periodically calling a service hosted by SAP java application server to find out whether the corresponding user who launched the session is still logged in or logged out.
So, my question is, how can i find out programatically whether a user/user's session is still logged in/active in SAP Netweaver Java AS? We are in version 7.3.
Kindly help me in this regard.
    Regards

    Hi Vijay,
    Could you check below links

    Hope this helps.

This is an element ordering issue. env-entry is before resource-ref in the schema so it must be declared in the same order.

  • Editing text file on application server

    Hello,
I have created a utility in which I can move files from one folder to another. Now we also need a option by which I can edit text file on the server folders. Is there a function module by which I can edit text from application server ?
    Regards,
    Rajesh.

With OPEN DATASET and READ you can load them into an internal table. Next put them on screen in lets say the text editor (enjoy SAP Controls). This is one way of doing this, other way would be:
Upload data with OPEN DATASET into internal table, download file to local drive (cl_gui_frontendservices=>gui_download), open it with notepad (for example) edit it and save. Next upload file into your program (cl_gui_frontendservices=>gui_upload) and download it to server again (OPEN DATASET and TRANSFER).
If available you can also use transaction CG3Z and CG3Y.

  • Get blank page in Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8

I installed Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8 and got blank page in http://localhost:1100/ and http://localhost:1100/hello/.
The port 1100 is my default port of HTTP port.
    My enviroment:
    Win2000 professional

Tomcat 4.1 (use port : 8080, and it works fine after installing Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8 )
Anybody can help me to solve this problem? I really want to learn J2EE by using this way.
This is my server.log when invoking the URL http://localhost:1100/ or http://localhost:1100/hello/ .

The way i solved it was the following :
I removed all java related packages/applications/servers etc existing in my pc .
my meaning of remove is complete uninstallation of any java application .
then i installed back again j2sdk1.42_05 then i installed the sun application server .
everything was succesful since then .
If you have any java version installed in your pc , for example j2sdk1.4.2_05 and this
package supports previous servers or other java applications and then you install
sun application server , it doesn't work .
It seems the previous java apps . don't "release" some java resources which are
used or can be used by sun application server .
I hope this can be useful to you .
    good luck .

    - then upgrade its portal to 10.1.4:
--> go to metalink/MOS: search for 'oracle portal upgrade master note' and follow the note that matches best
Is it required to install OID and SSO before oracle portal installation?- Yes it is. It will be included in the OAS 10.1.2.0.2 installation
