I have recently built a few sites www.bodicotevillagehall.org and www.newmanevents.co.uk I have added google analytics and keywords to both these sites but it seems there are not showing up very high on google even if I use the keywords. Is there a way I can check what I have done is correct? I have built other sites and they seem to work fine. Thanks for your people.

I like to think of Google as the Tourist Info Centre of the Internet. They always recommend restaurants, stores, attractions, etc by how popular they are. Humans are like that too. We almost always suggest busy and popular places before we suggest places that no one goes to. Google being a business is no different they want to give the user the best information possible and that almost always means 'popular'.
As Mylenium mentioned all the best SEO in the world won't change that. Particularly on a new site you have to still do it the hard way - hard work. The build it and they will come saying doesn't apply to websites. Unfortunately.

Theoretically, using a jpg instead of a png should prevent the problem, BUT I think that iWeb will automatically change the jpg to a png when publishing, in which case the problem would remain. You can still use a png image as the page background, but do it following these instructions (step 1 is the most important one):
In iWeb, in each of your pages with the QuickTime controller,
1) go to the "Page" heading in the Inspector window and under "Page Background" select "None" (The Browser Background can have a color fill without affecting this issue.)
2) on the main iWeb window at the bottom, click "Shapes" and select the square
3) drag the newly created square all the way up the page, without yet resizing it, so that it is within the "header" section of the page (where the navigation menu is)
4) now leave it there and move the pointer back down to the bottom of the page and click "Backward" until the square shape is behind all of the menu text
5) now drag one of the corners of the square to resize it OR use the inspector pane (click on the ruler icon to get the "Metrics" pane) to resize and position it so that it spans the entire page.
6) again using the inspector, select the "Graphic" pane, and choose the fill type (color fill, gradient fill, etc.) for this new background. In the stroke section, select none, unless you want a border around the page background.
7) publish.

GetSubwebsForCurrentUser does not check Root site

Hi,
I am trying to check if logged-in user has permissions to site. I have used the "getSubwebsForCurrentUser", but it does not check the Parent site and only checks for subsites. What am I missing?
My current code is as below:

The SP.Web.getSubwebsForCurrentUser Method returns the collection of child sites of the current site.

Would you Check my Site for Me?

Hey gang. Site is still under construction. I was hoping a couple of you could just poke around to see if the links work, and see if the load times are on a par with iWeb in general. I know that iWeb code is a bit bloated and slow, but maybe I'll transfer the publish folder to some place like lunar pages.
On the gallery page, I replaced the gallery thumbnails with pics that I turned into navigation buttons for faster load.

Spell Check Entire Site

Hi,
Just created over 300 pages in Dreamweaver, and now want to
spell check. Is there a way to spell check the entire site? I can't
seriously believe that the only way to do it is to open each page.
After all if Find and Replace works on all files why doesn't Spell
Check?
What is everyone else doing? Is there an extension I need to
install?

Odd issue editing/checking out sites.

Hey everyone, I just created a couple sites in Sharepoint 2013 online and half have a weird issue were there title and description show up below where expected, and smaller. So, I tried to edit them and there's no option to check out the ones that
are weird.
I've been digging around for a while and I think there's something weird going on with the Site Pages thing. I'm not sure what the difference is but it looks like the ones that work have a Site Pages page the ones that are messed up don't.
I have some pictures but apparently can't upload so...
Any help would be much appreciated, I've run out of ideas and places to look for ideas!

Firefox will not save my user name and password for one of my sites. How can I fix this problem. It is getting annoying having to reenter every time I check this site. Is there a solution.

I had my user name and password saved for my library site. My grandson hit something and now the saved user name and password are gone. It asks me every time to enter it and it is getting annoying. How do I fix this. I want Firefox to remember these codes.

You can create a bookmark with the JavaScript code via a right-click on the "Remember Password" link on the squarefree.com website and choose "Bookmark This Link" and select the "Bookmarks Toolbar" as the destination folder for easy access.

You need to use the "Remember Password" bookmarklet before or after filling the name and password field on the website with the <u>login form</u>, but before submitting the login form by clicking a button on the web page.

My firefox will allow me to open a page then it gets stuck on the second page and times out--how do I fix this. I have checked the sites on Explorer -it works

It started with the second page not being able to be displayed
example it would go to yahoo and I would sign in but the next page would just spin and time out
Now it won't even go to the first page.
Firefox will not let me go into the options to change cache.
I am trying explorer and it works.

This is a page within the Yahoo site? When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In that dialog, you can individually remove your yahoo.com cookies.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

How to disable checking for sites security certificates

I work in a company which manipulates its server in a way to make all unwanted sites look like not having a valid certificate so when I try to open them like gmail site I get a message that this site doesnt have a valid certificate and firefox - or any other browser- dont open the site. The question is: how to disable this feature in firefox to stop looking for sites certificates or doesnt care about them?

Exporting a root certificate in another browser would only be helpful if it did work in that browser.
If it happens in other browsers as well then it would be of any help.
I'm not seeing the button to add an exception as that would allow to inspect the certificate in the Certificate Manager.
Is that specific page opened in an (i)frame?
If "I Understand the Risks" is missing then this page may be opened in an (i)frame and in that case try the right-click context menu and use "This Frame: Open Frame in New Tab".

Now, I made all of the pages (4 lol) base on a template, but i detach them because, cannot move nothing, about them --not very good, me--
If I created my CSS style in the index page, then I base all the other pages from that one,
How can I link all the styles from all the pages to be one style?
For example, if I change -something- in the index page, that change won't reflect in all the pages,
How can I do that?

I cannot see where to download firefox from the main page. There is no download here prompt. I've been looking for hours. Am I crazy? Please check the site.

I ahd fire fox for about 2 years now & I love it. This week I started having major problems. Firefox would get frozen & I would have toalt,cntl,delete to get out of it. I decided to try to delete firefox & download it again but when I go there all I get is info about it & no place to press download . Another search took me to another site which had one to download but said it was NOT mozilla so I came to you for help. Please! I am stranded with no fox!!

Could someone check my site in IE 7?

Anybody running a PC with IE 7? My work-in-progress site looks fine in Safari, but terrible in IE5 which is all I have on my Mac. Firefox also seems to put the navigation bar on two lines for some reason.
On the Home page, the copyright and Quicktime lines should each be on one line. My quicktimes load very slooowly, but I'm working on it...

MAKE SURE TO CHECK "TELLL SITES I WANT TO BE TRACKED" to log on to google!

I have found that by enabling TOOLS/OPTIONS/PRIVACY "tell sites I want to be tracked" option, I can log on to my google accts.
I have an antivirus prog (Norton) that automatically removes tracking cookies. If you don't like this setting, you can always uncheck it by using the same path.
Hope this helps.

Selecting the "do-not-track" setting will only make Firefox send a specific HTTP header ("Tell sites that I do not want to be tracked.": DNT=1) to a web server.
