  • R12 check printing - error handling

I have built a custom cheque (check) using IBY_FD_EXTRACT_EXT_PUB, which generally works as required. However, from time to time errors occur, which are trapped within that package. The nature of these errors require that the payment and cheque be voided, and while I can change the XML output to print "void" on the cheque, there appears to be no way to feed back the fact that an error has occured. This results in void cheques in envelopes, and no indication in the list of payments as to which payments those cheques relate to.
I had considered directly updating IBY_DOCS_PAYABLE_ALL.DOCUMENT_STATUS to "REMOVED_PAYMENT_VOIDED", but this is obviously not the supported method. Is there an additional API I could use, or is there another method I'm not aware of?

Try to put them in a Table Columns.
I Hope they will not move...
    Thanx,
    Deepak

  • APP Check Printing Error

    Hi,
When i am running printout of cheques in APP, Job getting cancelled and error message as follows:
    Parameter type = MAIN invalid.
Pls guide me where i am doing mistake.
    Regards,
    VR

    Hi,
I see that you are using your own customised form  ZF110_PRENUM_CHC instead of standard delivered form form F110_prenum_chck and then getting error F0251.
According to the long text of error code F0251, the print program expects the element 510-Z to be used in window Main in form
ZF110_PRENUM_CHC . The form is printed without the accompanying 510-Z information.
    What you can do is:
If the form is going to be worthless due to the missing text, then the output file is to be deleted in the print manager. Determine the accompanying spool number from the flow trace.
Afterwards, you should correct the form (add a corresponding text under element 510-z in window MAIN). Bear in mind that the form may have been translated into languages other than the original language and that the translations are also to be corrected and activated. (Transaction SE71).
In addition, please refer to note 16561 for further information. Hope this helps.
    Kind Regards

  • Check print cartridge error

I installed a new black cartridge in my HP PSC 1410 All-in-One.  It printed a sheet to align the cartridges, but it won't scan, and I can't find HP Utilities or Scan or Toolbox on my MAC.
I tried taking one cartridge out, then the other.  That did not help.  I also tried turning everything off, no luck.  The only thing that happened was the printer printed another aligning sheet.
    Any suggestions??
    Thanks

I am setting PLD for outgoing check in check for payment window. My check size is width=200 mm height= 95 mm.
In tally my client print check by using normal printer with these measurements in Letter paper format.
I am using paper source letter with width as 566 and height as 269 ( this is the conversion value from mm). All margins as zero, and four database fields- vendor name , check amount in words, check amount in numbers, check date. But this setting gives me printing error. I am not able to see its preview.
    Kindly give your suggestions.

    Hi,
    1. Try to change the paper size to normal A4. Is it working with this paper size?
    2. On which area do you have those fields?

    Hi
If the cartridge isn't empty and you've tried the usual troubleshooting (which includes cleaning the contacts on the cartridge and in the printer) then it's probably best to contact Phone Support for a possible replacement.
You can check if the cartridge is still within warranty by checking the warranty ends date here

New info : Hi Oracle Support,
I found that the ORARRP works fine and submits report to the Printer if the
printer is defined through Novell Netware Network.
But if the same printer is defined through I.P address directly as a local
Printer it doesn't work. ( Add new port , Standard TCP/IP port method in
    Windows 2000).
Does it give us any clue to solve this issue ?.

    Investigating this issue...
    23-MAY-02 13:32:25 GMT
    Hi,
My understanding is that you where trying to print using ORARRP utility on the web
Since you are trying on an muti-tiered server(that is web is 3-tier)
by default this report will be printed out to the default printer assigned to
the application server machine , NOT to the client machines default
    printer.
    For example,
Machine 1 - the application server machine
Machine 2 - the client machine
Machine 2 submits a request to run a report to the multi-tier server with
DESTYPE set to PRINTER; DESNAME is left blank.
Printing will be on the default printer of Machine 1(Application server)
and not on Machine 2(Client PC)
If I am wrong inmy understanding, please eloborate

New info : A Big No. We are running the 10.7 version of Oracle applications and
there is no middle tier per se.
All we have done is to define a new printer called "LOCAL_PRINTER" and when
users select this printer the initiaization string which the Print command
sends to the printer before sending the file gets added to the output file and
the output file is stored in a directory which is accessible through a web
    server.
Users invoke the browser and point to the website where the output files are
avaiable. and then click on their request ids. Since the extension of the file
is .rrpt the ORARRP utility brings the Printer dialog where we have select the
    printer.
This setup was working sucessfully till so far. ( Past 1 year).
Now it suddenly didn't work for a user's printer which was connected to her PC.
Since I had windows 2000 on my laptop and I tried the same and found that the I
select a PC which is defined through I.P Address then it is not working. But
if I select the same printer defined through Novell Netware it is working.
Please let me know if you are getting the picture. if not may be we can do a
webex session or something like that.

    Hi Radhakrishnan,
ORARRP doesn't actually do any printing itself. Via COM/Active-X, it calls the appropriate program that corresponds to the type of output, and then this program does the actual printing. For PDF, it calls Acrobat Reader to print the document. Acrobat Reader displays the printer dialog to let you choose which printer to use, and then when you click OK, Acrobat Reader prints the document and sends it to the printer.
I expect that you'll find that when you use Acrobat Reader yourself on this machine it has exactly the same problems with this particular printer configuration. If so, you'll need to contact Adobe for further assistance.

    Stewart

  • How can I fix this printer error with Samsung SCX-4300 and SCX-4521f on Windows Server 2008 R2?

I have two printers installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit):
    1. Samsung SCX-4521f
    2. Samsung SCX-4300
There are two computers (Windows 7 Professional, 32-Bit) connected to this server that utilise these shared printers.
The drivers installed are as follows:
    SCX-4x21_Win7_Print.exe (Win 2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008/Win 7    3.04.96:03    Print Driver    11 Dec, 2009    12.37    MULTI LANGUAGE)
    SCX-4300_Print.exe (Win 2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008/Win 7(32,64bit) 3.04.95:07 Print Driver Jan 19, 2011 53.07 MULTI LANGUAGE)
After printing documents for some time (within a 24 period) the printers no longer respond to print requests.
On the server opening "Control Panel\Hardware\Devices and Printers" shows the two printers with yellow exclamation marks.
The "SCX-4x21" printer shows the "Status" as "Needs troubleshooting" and "Printer: Error".
The "SCX-4300" printer shows the "Status" as "Needs troubleshooting".
Neither will print a test page.
Searching for new drivers automatically returns saying: "The best driver software for your device is already installed".
The error persists and nothing will print.
When double-clicking on the "SCX-4x21" printer (or going to "Control Panel\Hardware\Devices and Printers\Samsung SCX-4x21 Series") you see the following:
"Printer: Error" and "N document(s) in queue".
Clicking on either of these brings up the print queue and shows a document with the status of "Error - Printing".
As each job with an error is cancelled the next one attempts to print and also displays an error like the last.
Once all the jobs are cleared the printer information says "Printer: Ready".
Sending a "Print Test Page" sends the printer into an error state saying "Printer: Error".
With the "SCX-4300", sending a "Print Test Page" displays a bubble saying: "Toner Empty: Replace Toner".
However, I can't see any specific error messages.
How do I find out what exactly "Needs troubleshooting"?
    Please can anyone advise further?

The printer (SCX-4300) has stopped again.
Since it has been stopped I have done your recommendations:
Unticked the "Enable bidirectional support" option under the "Ports" tab in the printer properties.
Set the "Interactive Services Detection" to Automatic and started it.
Unfortunately the printer did not start printing, the print jobs did not restart or delete.
I decided to check the Operational logs that we enabled.
The first job I see goes like this:
    Information: Rendering job 41.
Error: The print spooler failed to delete the file C:\Windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\00041.SHD, error code 0x2. See the event user data for context information.
Information: The print job 41 was sent through the print processor SSE1MPC on printer Samsung SCX-4300 Series, driver Samsung SCX-4300 Series, in the isolation mode 1 (0 - loaded in the spooler, 1 - loaded in shared sandbox, 2 - loaded in isolated
sandbox). Win32 error code returned by the print processor: 0x0.
    Information:Printing job 41.
    Information:Spooling job 41.
    This job actually printed.
Other jobs printed fine with no error.
There are no other errors in the "Operational" log other than the "print spooler failed to delete" error.
Any ideas what to try now?
Update: Unticking the "Enable bidirectional support", clearing the print queue and then trying again seems to have fixed the problem for now.

  • Printing error and Export to PDF error after a Quark Express convert

I are working on a catalogue that was previously made with Quark Express. I used q2id to convert over to InDesign CS3. I had some minor issues setting up the new fonts, but that was no big deal. Now that the catalogue is close to finished, I want to do some test print, however, on several of the files it start processing the printing, finish the processing of all the pages, then kills the print job and comes with the following error:
Print Error: The Adobe Print Engine has failed to output your data due to an unknown problem.
Similar error happens when I try to export to PDF, this error only says:
    Failed to Export PFD file
Anyone had a similar problem?? I've done a preflight but ID does not indicate any problems with the file nor its content. Is there another tool to scan the file with to find errors?? Possible fix it?? Is there a log file I could check??
    In advance, thanks guys.
    Working on:
    InDesign CS3
    Windows XP Pro, SP02
    2 GB RAM

    Thanks Ken,
Not sure how to check if we do have OPI comments on some of the images, but looks like I have found a solution to the printing problem at least.
Thanks to a respons by Peter Spier to another topic with similar problems:
    Peter Spier - 4:00am Mar 11, 08 PST (#5 of 6)
The symptoms could describe document corruption rather than network issues which might fall into the category of things that can be cleared up through export to .inx.
Try exporting one or two of the problem files to interchange format, open those and save as new .indd and make a new book file. See if that behaves differently across the network.
I also found another article about INX files, that confirms this technique:
    http://avondale.typepad.com/indesignupdate/2005/08/what_the_heck_i.html
"...INX can also help “clean up” problem files in InDesign CS2—if you’re running into problems, especially with files that started their lives as QuarkXPress or PageMaker files, try exporting the document as INX and then opening that file."
    So, I
    1. exported all files, one by one to INX or InDesign InterChanged
    2. Then reopened those files, saved back as regular .indd files
    3. Reopend the new file (hoping for a refreshed file and test to see if it would open without problems.)
    4. Then packed the files indevidually and reopend the new packed files when done.
Alle the files now print without any problems but export to PDF still fails with the same error message.
Would the OPI comment be a problem here maybe?
    Thanks!
    bard
