Check SLD health

Hi,
We have a common SLD between DEV and TEST environments. The customer is insisting on rebuilding the entire SLD. I am reluctant in rebuilding SLD because I dont want to touch SLD which is fit and running fine.
Can you please suggest me any way by which I can pull out some information/report on the current health status of SLD so that we can be sure that the current SLD is in the perfect state and we dont need to rebuild the entire SLD from scratch.
Thanks,
Netrey

Hi Netrey,
Ref SAP Note: 817920 XI readiness check. Follow the steps to check SLD to ensure everything is working fine.
In PI system, exceute the transaction SLDCHECK.
Thanks,

Check out DriveDx: http://binaryfruit.com/drivedx . It displays SSD Lifetime Left indicator, overall health rating, performance rating and many other useful information about your SSD. Nice UI.

U can go through the Installtion Guides for Installing XI from http://service.sap.com/instguides (SR1 installation)
u can also refer to service.sap.com/platforms to see the available platform on which XI can be installed. ( Windows/linux/UNIX)
or you can even go through this weblog which clearly talks to you about XI installation
    XI installation: https://websmp202.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700009389172004E.PDF
In addition to this installation guide you also need to download the XI configuration guide which is very useful for technical configurations of various adapters and XI system.
At the same place you will also get the XI configuration guide e.g XI30ConfigGuideSPS11.pdf.
U can also download SAP Exchange Infrastructure 3.0 SR1 Installtion Guide from the articles scetion.
    ABOUT XI :
If it’s just that you wanted to know more about sap xi....then the information below should definitely help you.
The best way to learn XI would be to make the maximum use of XI from its forums, weblogs, presentations, etc in SDN.
First I thought I will just give u the basic steps involved in doing any scenario in XI. This is very essential for a beginner.
First of all you would need to define your product, software component, business system and configure the technical landscape in the sld.
You then go on to create the objects in the repository, you import your software component here and then begin your design steps. To import your RFCs n Idocs if you require any before proceeding.
Then under the name space which you want, you go on to define your data types, message types and message interfaces.
Then you do your message mappings where you specify your source and target message types and the relation between them, then you do your interface mapping. If you are using a BPM, you do the integration process.
Once you have this done, you will have to move to the directory, here is where you define how you use the objects and how you configure them to work as a scenario.
You assign your business system to the configuration scenario which you have created, and create the communication channels. Then you go on to configure the receiver determination, interface determination, and the sender and receiver agreements. Once you’re done you will have make sure you activate your objects. The exact parameters steps depend on what kind of scenario you are implementing.
You can use sxmb moni or the runtime workbench to monitor the entire scenario which you have done.
Also I would suggest this link on SAP help for any info that you want on XI,

  • Wrong information when select " Check SLD connetion" in Webdynpro Content

    Hi All,
When I go to Webdynpro Content Administrator, select the button " Check SLD connection" and a new window come up with the details of where the SLD is running.
I noticed the details are incorrect, i.e. port 54200 instead of 50700. I have check in the SLD service Visual administrator and it has correct information of hostname and port number ...
Can you please help to point out where/how did it pick up this information?

    Hi Vincent,
I dont think your sld is configured and running.
    1. since you said the port number is wrong you have to correct the settings in the first place.
    2. secondly you need to check the link which will be in the format http://host address:portnumber/sld and configure the sld there and then check if its up and running.
these steps would be mentioned clealy in the guide may be in the post installation activities please check that and keep us updated.

  • How to check battery health..

My battery seems to be having issues.. How do I check the general health of the battery?

I'm in a similar position. I was told about a widget you can download for the dashboard called istat nano.
It gives you a health percentage of the battery as well as other diagnostic details about the mac. The only thing I'm unsure about is how accurate the information it gives you is.

  • Alternative methods for checking battery health

    Model: 8922-A26, 3000 C200
So in the process of trying my hardest to keep a recalcetrant C200 from it's sixth visit to the service centre in less than 11 months of ownership, I am trying to see if there's anything I can do to improve its battery life beyond the pitiful 30min i'm currently getting.
Being a longtime thinkpad customer, I tried all the usual methods including the three-cycle power down and drain trick to recondition the battery, with no solution and ran through all the possible solutions in MIGR-63114 to no success at all.
Except one - verify the health of the unit's battery, an online tool which uses ActiveX applets to work some black magic and tell you if it's pooped or not. However, it seems this tool is broken.
It's not working in either IE6 or 7, and despite prompting you to install all the AX components nothing ever happens no matter how long you leave it. And if sitting around isn't good enough for you, you can stare at the broken image which is supposed to be a progress bar.
Does anyone have any alternative ways of checking the battery health on a C200 or firing off some reconditioning tools to save me being another week without this unit? I don't mind dealing with the phone support group, but i'll be darned if I let the service techs near the unit again because I just know my luck will see them fix or replace the wrong part - for the third time in a row.

I don't believe there is a way but more than likely an Apple Store can check it if there is one nearby.
I've seen a post or two here reporting the same and the solution provided (which claimed to help) was using the iPhone until the battery is depleted causing the iPhone to turn off. Plug it in and allow it to charge completely.
And if you haven't already done so, it can't hurt to Reset and/or Restore your iPhone.

  • Can ASA check the health of a site-to-site VPN for route tracking

The ASA "track" command can use an SLA, but it looks like SLA monitor only supports ICMP type as a health check.  We would like to redistribute and use a static route only if the appropriate VPN link is up.
We have multiple sites, each with an OSPF area 0, so we don't want to enable OSPF routing over the VPN links.  With IOS routers, we use tunnel interfaces with IPSEC encapsulation.  Since each end of the tunnel has an IP, pinging the tunnel IP of the other end is a good indication that the tunnel is up.
Is there a way to get this functionality on an ASA?

You can enable DPD (dead peer detection) feature and use RRI (reverse route injection) to install static routes to remote VPN subnets. Than you can redistribute it to the OSPF.

  • Need Steps of writing shell scripts to check DB health.

    Hi,
I need the steps to generates the emails from Linux OS to checking the oracle 10g database health, different thrashhold limits, and checking alert log file for ORA- ERROR etc.
    Thanks.

    Hi there,
I don't have any knowledge of the EBS suite so I won't comment about it. In general, the DB console( free version of EM) doesn't take much resources and is able to do almost all what is needed to be done for a database. So you may give it a try.
Yes the email notification from EM works and works well. Again, you can try for once and see how it progresses in your environment.
We can also user DBMS Jobs to checking health and send an emais, Am I right? But there are jobs running already in 10g for this and are maintained by MMON process. If you are willing to do some thing beyond that than yes, you may code it yourself but I don't think its needed.

  • How Can I Check the Health of the Time Machine Snapshots?

Hi. The last time I used Time Machine to restore to a fresh install of Mountain Lion, it had an error, I had to manually copy the folders and files in my home folder as well as XCode and bookmarks for Safari.
Is there an app that can check if the Time Machine snapshot will work when you need to restore it to a fresh install of Mountain Lion? Could it also check the backup disk for surface errors? My backup drive that uses Time Machine is fine.
    Thank you in advance.
    God bless.

Unfortunately, you cannot do diagnostics on a Time Capsule. Data on a Time Capsule are not stored directly to the drive. Data are stored in a sparsebundle disk image. If the disk image goes bad, then you can try to copy it to a regular hard drive so you can try repairing the disk image or you erase the Time Capsule.
You really don't need to check hard drives from time to time. If there are errors on the drive you will know about them before you have time to fix the drive. And, if the errors are fixable usually that doesn't happen using Disk Utility.
File errors are very rare no matter how often you use a HDD. There is no research to support your hypothesis.
To protect against hard drive failure (unrelated to file errors) is best avoided by making multiple backups. You cannot have too many backups. Given your concern for your files this will help you a lot more than running diagnostice tests on one hard drive. I would also recommend you not use Time Machine because its reliability is markedly less than most recommended backup utilities such as these. Furthermore, you can clone any drive using Disk Utility's Restore feature.
    Suggested Backup Software
      1. Carbon Copy Cloner
      2. Get Backup
      3. Deja Vu
      4. SuperDuper!
      5. Synk Pro
      6. Tri-Backup
Others may be found at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
Clone using Restore Option of Disk Utility
      1. Open Disk Utility in the Utilities folder.
      2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
      3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
      4. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag
it to the Destination entry field.
      5. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to
          the Source entry field.
      6. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the drive used for backup. Source means the drive you are backing up.

  • Best way to check the HEALTH of SQL server database

    Hello,
If I understand correctly, you want to improve SQL Server performance.
In SQL Server we have many situation to improve the performance. For example:
    • Design efficient schemas.
    • Optimize queries.
    • Fine-tune indexes.
    • Perform efficient transactions.
    • Build efficient stored procedures.
We can obtain the best performance and scalability gains in application development. Indexing is considered part of the application development effort. Poor indexes that lead to increased CPU utilization, and memory or disk I/O utilization. You can refer
to the following article about Improving SQL Server Performance.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you got “Reset page to default” error in Health Check.
If you haven't customize any workflow or anything, you can just reset them to the default, it’s OK.
Because in the database the sourse pages were completely uncustomized, out of the box.
So, you can reset them to the default, then check with Health Check, it would no error again.

  • IPod frozen than working... how to check it's health status?

A friend of mine gave me a 20GB classic iPod, it was supposed to be broken, took it home, connected to the usb cable and the icon to get to service it showed up, nothing else to do, no way to access diagnostics, nothing nothing nothing.
Now, connected again to my old Dual MDD it mounted on the desktop and seems to work, what and how do I check its health status?
It would turn very useful for me to have this thing to work so much that I already thought, in case it was the disc, to change it but now how do I get to make sure it doesn't fail again?
Could it be a battery problem?
    thanks all for your attention
