I guess there are multiple ways in which people interpret the same sentence. Not everything is obvious to everyone.
If confused, people generally ask in the forums.

How  do you put songs on your ipod with the new itunes?

Do you mean remove them from the iPod or transfer them back to your computer? You can't transfer photo's back to the computer with iTunes. To retrieve photos from an iPod try:
    iPodPhotoCopy Windows only
    CopyPodPhoto Windows only
iPod Photo Liberator Mac & Windows
To remove individual photos from an iPod you delete or remove the photo from the folder that you linked to when you set the preference "synch photos from" and update the iPod. For example, if the iPod is getting the pictures from the folder "My Pictures," delete or remove them from My Pictures.

How do you receive a call on your computer with the new OS X?

The following quotation is from http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/continuity/
The link shows a picture of the Notification. Below it says there is "nothing to set up" but I believe that you need to have FaceTime activated (signed in) on both devices as there is a setting on iPhone/iPad in Settings > FaceTime where you turn "iPhone Cellular Calls" on/off.
Sometimes when your iPhone rings, it’s not where you are. Maybe it’s charging in another room. Or it’s buried in your backpack. But your Mac or iPad is sitting right there. Now you can make and receive phone calls on those devices as long as your iPhone running iOS 8 is on the same Wi-Fi network. Incoming calls show the caller’s name, number, and profile picture. Just click or swipe the notification to answer, ignore, or respond with a quick message. And making a phone call from your iPad or Mac is just as easy. Simply tap or click a phone number in Contacts, Calendar, or Safari. It all works with your existing iPhone number, so there’s nothing to set up.

  • Creative, Is it worth it? (i.e. whats your experience with the Zen 16gb) and Firmware questi

After doing a sizable amount of research on the Creative Zen 6gb MP3 player, I was relati'vely comfortable with the product and decided to purchase it.
However, after browsing this forum for a few hours, I see quite a few things that trouble me about Creative in general:
"Real person" my (CENSORED) -horrible customer support
Creative Expects 3rd Quarter Loss, Sells HQ Building?
Message to Daniel_K -lack of product support/customer relations
and a countless number of other posts about hardware and software issues with the Zen
I really like the features built into the MP3 player (FM transmitter, voice recorder, Equalizer) and do not want to sell my soul to Ipod.
That being said, I wanted to see if there was anyone on this forum that actually liked their Zen and did not have issues with it.
I would greatly appreciate your positi've feedback as I hope that I will not have to spend countless more hours searching for and then researching a different MP3 player that fits my needs.
In addition, I was curious about the user interface on the Zen. I know that it uses ID3 tagging and that a folder directory cannot be used to view mp3s on the player (unless this has been added in a firmware update?, however I checked the site and did not see anything about this addition). How impeding is this ID3 tagging reliance if about 00 to 500 of my mp3s have incorrect tagging? as in, will I go crazy trying to retag everything because all I see if "Unknown" for all the data?
Yeah, that's about it for my long winded post...
    Thanks,
    Joe?

Just return from Mexico and found my Zen 4 GB player missing from a light finger baggage handler. I would not even consider, in a thousand years, of purchasing from the "fruit company" their overprice Ipod without a FM receiver. The Creative Zen rocks. Need I say more.

  • Please share your experience with the universal dock for iphone 3g

    Hi There,
    1. Can people share their experience of the universal dock with the iphone 3g adapter. My concern is that does the tight fit scratch the black lower back of the iphone plastic everytime we remove it or put it in? OR is there enough gap for the iphone to slip in and out without scratching.
    2. Anyone having issues with the universal dock or does it work fine for most?
    thanks in advance,
    cheers,
    Sunil

    Thanks for your advice.
I recently purchased a universal dock for my iphone 3g. It works great. I just had one question. When my iphone is sitting on it for lets say 20 - 30 minutes. Then if i press the buttons on the remote. nothing happens! If I then press the home button while it is on the cradle then, the remote, it plays music. There after lets say if I stop stop the music through the remote and again press the remote button after a few minutes it starts playing. So what happens after a long time. Why do i have to press the home button on the iphone for the remote to work. Is that how it is supposed to work???
    Thanks

  • How do you update playlists on your iPod with the new iTunes?

With the new iTunes, I can't seem to be able to update playlists on my iPhone device when plugging it in. I can add songs to the playlist and can add songs to my device. However after adding songs to a playlist, I can not update that playlist on my device with the new iTunes. You used to be able to just drag a playlist to the device and update it, but you no longer can. Can someone please tell how to go about updating playlists on devices using the new iTunes.

  • I need your help with the Bios password!

    Hi,
I'm using a satellite l305D-S5895 and i have a problem with the bios password.  I was setting a password in the Bios or CMOS ( i don't know exactly).  Every time i start up my computer, a blue box appears and ask me for the password. I know the password but  I think it complicated and i want to take it off, and clear it.  Please help me with that.  If you guys have a way by turn of the battery or push the reset key inside the laptop, please give me some pictures to show that.  Thanks a lot.

This does not sound like a Toshiba Bios password. The Toshiba passwords come on a black screen with white writing and say "Password =". Toshiba Service Centers have the tools needed to remove the password. provided that you can prove the computer is yours. So bring a proof of purchase and be prepared to pay, because password removal is not covered under warranty.

  • Using your Mac with the BBC, or not perhaps!

I just wanted to bring to your attention that the BBC is conducting a survey about the future of online program content and unless we let them know there is a possiblity that Mac users will be excluded from this future service.
If you want to tell the BBC what you think please follow the link (and click on the questions tab) and fill in the online questionaire: http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbctrust/consult/open-consultations/ondemand_services.html

This really needs spreading through the Mac
community- it is important, otherwise the BBC might
sideline Mac users in favour of Microsoft products!
Surely it's also important that Apple are pro-active in these matters too ?
Surely the BBC would appreciate help from Apple in resolving their problem.
At the moment the have the major share of the music download market. However there are rumblings in Europe - both with the EEC and with individual countries - concerning their DRM mechanism and the fact that it is not available to others, which is aledged to be restrictive.
If Apple were to license the DRM system to others then it might lose a percentage of it's market share in both sales [as ipod users would be easily able to purchase product from other vendors] and hardware [as some customers might buy other mp3/mpeg4 players] however it would also be able to increase sales buy adding those who already have other hardware systems to it's potential customer base. It would also silence the critics, avoid possible litigation and sanctions and publicize the company further as, even if the DRM licensing was done free or at cost, the sytem would surely need to be credited by the end user for the consumer to see thus raising the company profile further.
Failure to do this could result in a missed opportunity as corporations [like the BBC] put their business with the majority platform.
This could potentially be the biggest opportunity for Apple since 1986 and it is vital that they capitalize on it.

  • Can you view the iPod menus on your television with the Universal Dock?

I recently bought a decent universal dock knock off for my iPod, but one of my biggest gripes is that I am not able to view my iPod menus screen on my television. Does the Apple Universal Dock give you this ability?

    Hello there,
No, there is no such feature with the universal dock. If you wish to a have a dock with this kind of functionality, maybe check out this one below.

  • TS1702 Dear Apple: You've lost your way with the new Map app

    Dear Apple:
I have always been a faithful iPhone user because I believed it was the best device on the market.  Other phones keep coming out with useful and fun features and applications, but I remained loyal to the iPhone, knowing that it was a game of leap-frog and Apple would always catch up and surpass the competition.
Now, unfortunately, you have fallen short.  Not only did you not beat the competition, but you took a big step backwards with your Map application.
I rely on a good map app to help me get around a city that is still new to me, find stores and locations quickly and easily, and get information on public transportation.  Your map app can do none of that.  It's cumbersome, not integrated with public transit routes, and doesn't even know where my local BevMo! is.
I don't just want the old Map app back, I NEED it back.  The new one feels crippling compared to what I had before.  I'm struggling with it on every use, and am longing for the old app on every usage.
I don't care about your competition with Google.  That's between you and them.  But don't make the customer the victim of this war.  Swallow your pride and admit that Google beat you handily on this one front.  And then get the old Map app back for me.  It will make Apple the winner in the long run, I promise.
    Sincerely,
    Eric

This is a user to user help forum only. You are not addressing anything to Apple here.
The licensing agreement between Apple and Google for the Maps app and YouTube app expired. Rumor has it Google wanted to include advertising with Apple's Maps and YouTube apps and probably wanted to increase their licensing fee. It isn't coming back.
