Check Your Phone Model

Though, it's just a matter of commonsense but mistake is mistake and that is also on a reputed forum site like of Nokia.
Please arrange to correct info given at "Check Your Phone Model" link. As it suggest to remove Battery and then Model Number. I am sure there will be manu handsets like N8 this method does not apply.
This can be found on home page just below Help.
I wish Nokia Start CDMA Handset in India again.

Many older Nokia phones were shy creatures and didn't like to brag about themselves, which is why this page exists; but Nokia's Nseries and Eseries models have always proudly stated their identities on their front covers, as is the case with our current models with in-built batteries the C7-00, N8-00 and X7-00...

Though my load balance is still sufficient enough to make outgoing phone calls, a recording which says "Your call cannot be connected. Please check your phone settings." keeps on playing.
Any idea on how to resolve this?

Did you verify with T-Mobile before you left that you had international dialing enabled?

  • Xperia Care phone app, not showing my phone model

    Dear All,
Recently I purchased Xperia Z2 from Bangladesh (Local Retailer). IMEI #xxxxxxxx. My phone is showing software Build # 17.1.A.2.55. In Sony Sites, As I found Sony has rolled a firmware on 23/5 for Xperia Z2, I tried to check it from Xperia Care app of my phone. It's strange that When I am trying to find out my phone, I found the phones chart is not showing Xperia Z2.
Can anyone, pls advise why I can't see Xperia Z2 model from my phone's Xperia Care Apps? When I can get the latest firmware update?

  • When entering my phone serial number it shows "We're sorry, but this is a serial number for a product that has been replaced. Please check your information and re-enter your serial number. If your information is correct, you may need to contact us."

    Hi,
I had purchased an iPhone 5 last month and got the OS updated to iOS 7, yesterday.
The data cable was of very bad quality and when I took it to the retailer for replacement, they said that its not covered under the one year warranty.
Secondly, I have also been experiencing network coverage issues with this phone. So, I decided to contact apple care through the web. When entering my serial number/IMEI it says, "We're sorry, but this is a serial number for a product that has been replaced. Please check your information and re-enter your serial number. If your information is correct, you may need to contact us."
Does anybody have any idea what the reason behind this could be.
    - First time with iPhone and frustrated.

If you purchased the iPhone from Apple or an authorized Apple reseller,
contact them for assistance. If you purchased elsewhere, go back
to that retailer and get them to give you a new iPhone or your money
    back.
If you have checked the serial number carefully and re-entered it
and that gave you the same error message, contact Apple if purchased
from Apple or authorized retailer; otherwise you have been scammed
and need to pursue the matter with the business you obtained the
    iPhone from.

You received incorrect information from AT&T.  You can indeed access your voicemail without your iPhone.
Call AT&T at (800) 331-0500 (assuming you're in the U.S.).  This is a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week number.  Ask them how to access your voicemail.  Normally, you would just do this by dialing your number from another phone, typing "*" once your voicemail recording starts, and entering your password.  You don't know your password, so it's probably the last four digits of your phone number or perhaps the seven - or ten-digit phone number.  Let the AT&T person tell you.

I have used iMessage on both my iPad and iPhone for successfully, using the same Apple ID. However since I upgraded to IOS 7.0 .4 on my iPhone recently, it has turned off iMessage. When I try to turn it back on again and login with my Apple ID, The message "could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again" appears. I have tried again numerous times. I have tried switching off iMessage on my iPad as well then try and switch on them both back on my iPad works but my iPhone does not. Can anyone help

    -Deactivate iMessage on your iPhone
    - Reset phone by holding both Home and Sleep buttons for about 10 seconds until Apple logo appears.
    - If you have wifi where you are, temporarily disable it.
    - Activate iMessage.

  • Can't login on my Android phone: "Oops, please check your details".

Hi all, I have created a new plain Skype account yesterday. I works fine on my laptop, where I can sign in without any problems. However, on my Android phone I just get the error message "Oops, please check your details" and Skype keeps showing the login screen. Password and username that I enter are definitely correct. With my old plain Skype account I can login on my Android phone (and laptop) without any problem. I have already force stopped the Skype app, cleared the data, uninstalled and reinstalled it. I have also made sure that I wasn't logged in on my laptop. The only apparent difference seems to be the hyphen (minus sign) in my new Skype name. Might this cause the problem? My setting:Alcatel One Touch 997d w/ stock Android 4.0.4 & WiFi (home network), Skype v3.0.0.6181 Thanks very much for your help,
    Dom

Oh, I have to update my story. I spoke too soon in my earlier post . Only after about a few days, or something like a week, the error came back again. And I'm QUITE certain that after changing the password, it would work again! (again.) And yes it makes me think special charcaters are not really the problem, but that 'whatever' the problem is, resetting your password seems to provide TEMPORARY relief! I haven't bothered to update my password since this second failure, because of the hassle of updating it on more than 3 devices I own. I have been missing out, no skype on my android phone. This i a real bug. there hasn't been an android updates for months (more than a year? I don't know), why aren't devs acknowledging and looking into this?...

  • I have been recently trying to get the update for the new iOS 7.1 and it keeps coming up as too much data for update. It says to check your storage and or usage and edit it them, but when I go check I have over 7.8GB of messages "saved" on my phone.  why?

I went to my data after this message kept coming up and unlike the rest of the usage data you cannot delete your "saved" message data. I tried deleting some photos (which I don't have a lot to begin with; now I only have 40) still nothing. I then went to to my local apple store in the mall and the two guys I talked to didn't help. They said to delete the threads which I did, then delete the pictures which I also did and that should help. They were wrong they I'd say however to reset your phone if all else fails and that will deffinelty do it. But I don't want to lose all of my data so I am trying to save my things on iCloud and it won't let me do to my storage. There have been similar situations like mine on here but the backup bot isn't working on my computer. At this point I am just so lost and confused I don't know what to do. Someone please help

Snowden has already commented on this. Messages are stored on Apple devices until they are uploaded for screening to the NSA. Apple holds these messages on your device and on the cloud service. Once the information has been uploaded to NSA, the messages then delete off your device. In order to not arouse suspecion, the device will always show you some amount to data as space being occupied on your device. Theorecically this data could be over written and not protected if they were on hidden sectors of your memory. The information stored on this "messages" partition is actually more than messages, thats why this space commitment can easily reach 3 gigs. Any computer science specialist will tell you that ASCII characters only use minimal kilobytes of data. Apple complies with this request to upload your personal data as outlined in the Patriot Act. The only way to delete this "messages" data hold is by doing a complete wipe of your device and not conducting a restore. It will clear the space off your device, but NSA actually has the information from the cloud service regardless.

  • Can Iphone 4 activity (including internet activity - facebook messages) be monitored by someone if they had access to your phone (like a family member)?  How can you check?

I am wonderimng just how safe the iphone 4 is - if someone has access to your phone (say a family member) can they put sometrhing on ur iphone (that isn't jail broken) that tracks your activity - particularly things like messages in facebook (by using the messenger app that you can down load from the app store)?  If so is there anyway to tell if it's been done?  Everything I read seems to indicate that its not possible to install spyware on an iphone - but strange things happen - including slow response and being logged out of online accounts (ie facebook messenger).  I know that one solution would be to restore to factory defaults but when you do this is it ok to restore your phone from back up or should it be rstored like a new phone (especially if the itunes account is a shared account)?
I keep thinking I am just being paranoid but it would be good to get some up to date advice about this.

That's the great thing with ios is it uses a sandbox file system. So installing spyware confines it to its sandbox so it cannot access other file or track anything. Unless you jailbreak at that point there is no more sandbox.

  • How to boot your phone into safe mode

If you experience any problem with your phone, booting it into safe mode can be a good idea to check if any third party applications might be involved in the problem you’re having.
If you run your phone in safe mode for a while and you don’t experience any problem, the problem you’re having is most likely related to a third party app that you’ve installed.
How to boot into safe mode differ from models to model and it can also be different depending on firmware version but this topic will explain to you how to do it.
    NOTE!
Booting into safe mode may change personal UI customizations such as icons and folders.
Later Xperia phones running on Android Jelly Bean (Android 4.1 or later)
Press and hold the on/off key until you get this screen.
Now tap and hold the Power off option until you see this screen.
Press OK to reboot into safe mode.
If you have successfully booted into safe mode you will see the text Safe mode in the bottom left corner.
You can also boot into safe mode by turning off the phone and wait a few seconds. Now press and hold both the on/off and volume down (-) key. Keep pressing these two keys until the phone has booted completely.
To exit safe mode you simply power off and power on as normal.
Xperia phones using touch menu key running on Android GB (2.3.X) or ICS (4.0.X)
Turn off your phone.  Wait a few seconds and then turn it on again. Now during the boot process start tapping the menu key continuously and keep tapping until the phone has booted completely. Not too fast, not too slow. The beat of Iron man by Black Sabbath is just right.
To exit safe mode you simply power off and power on as normal.
Xperia phones using hardware menu key
Turn off your phone.  Wait a few seconds and then turn in on again. Now during the boot process press and hold the menu key until the phone has booted completely.
To exit safe mode you simply power off and power on as normal.
