Checkbox "include book documents" dimmed when generating index

Hello,
I`m having some trouble generating the index of a book.
I have index entries in multiple documents. I have the "book" option in index window checked, and all the book documents opened. But I still cannot check the "include book documents" option. Am I doing something wrong?
Oh and another thing, probably not related, but whenever I open a document, it looks like it has been changed and unsaved, although no changes were made. Whenever I save it, the star indicator disappears, but after a few seconds it pops back. The documents are not locked, and InDesign has the privilege to overwrite them.
Using InDesign CS 5.5 on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2.

Well that was weird, I moved the folder to my desktop and back, and now it is alright.
But the second issue (with the changed/unsaved thing) still prevails.

I'm trying to make an index for several dokuments in a book. I've made the index but when I try to generate the index the checkbox is greyed out so I can't check it. Do You know what's wrong?

ToC in book - make "Include book documents" default?

It's always possible, with so many places to set options, I'm just missing something obvious: but it _looks_ as though the "Include book documents" is something I have to select every time I want to update the ToC. It's very disconcerting to update the ToC and be presented with a set of empty pages :-{ Given the ToC file is included in a book, is there any way to make sure it realises its purpose in life is to provide a ToC for/based on all the files in that book? Thanks in advance!

You should save the settings you want as a TOC style and use that style for the TOC rather than use the Default.

InDesign CS5.5 crashes when generating index

Hello everyone. I have been working on a 232 page catalog and have been indexing as I've went along. The catalog itself (232 pages) is a book file. When I generated the index before it seemed to take a long time, but it always got through it and had no problems. One day, randomly, it decided it wasn't going to work anymore and crashes when I re-generate the index.
I have tried to add documents at sections at a time to see if it might be a particular file, but my tests have all been inconclusive. I have the catalog separated into 8 sections (32 pages each) I added 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 generating the index after each addition. I got to section five and it was still okay. When I added section 6 it crashed. I tried generating section 6 by itself and it was fine. Then I generated sections 1-5, and 7 together and it still crashed! I've done every possible combination of index generating and I'm getting desparate. I really do not want to have all my indexing work on the entire back section of the catalog to be wasted.
Is anyone having a similar problem? If I could get it narrowed down to one section, it would help greatly. I do have x refs in my documents but they are all contained within section 4 (which had no problems generating).
I'm assuming the problem lies within section 6 or 7, but I generated them together by themselves and the index generated without a problem.

My InDesign crashed a couple of months for no apparent reason and, whenever I tried to resume the same activity as I was doing when it crashed, it crashed again! I wasn't creating an index but adding photos. Bascially, what I had to do was copy and paste all of my data into a new document. That worked. It was a pain, because I had to copy the master pages, style sheets, blah, blah but it worked. I think what happens is that files get corrupted if they keep crashing. You're better off just grabbing the data and creating a new doc. A pain, I know but....

I'm trying to generate an index from a book file with InDesign Server. With the following script nothing happens, I get an empty index page:
var myIndex = myDocument.indexes[0];
myDocument.indexGenerationOptions.includeBookDocuments = true;
myIndex.generate();
With the desktop version you have to open the book file first. How to approach the book file when generating a full index from all documents within a book?

Reset a pricing condition type value when generating billing document

Hi experts,
I have a delivery-related billing type. In sales order, there is a pricing condition type Z001, with value = 100, I would like to reset it to zero when generating billing document. Is there any configuration or user exits can do this? Thanks.

You can do this in BILLING provided , if the Condition type is Manual condition type
To achieve this you have to do some configuration in the condition types as,
Goto transaction code V/06 and select your condition type and maintain the MNAUAL ENTRIES as C which means you can process it manually and in the V/08 chose your pricing procedure and against your condition type check the Manal entry .
Now you can change the value of the condittion type to 0 in the Billing document.

Error when generating IDoc from MC document - workitem to all the SAP users

A workflow item with the subject of Error when generating IDoc from MC document is sent to all the SAP users' inbox. Is it possible to stop the generation of this work item? If that is not possible, can we limit sending the work item to a specific user/agent instead of all the users in the system?
It appears that these work item or error message are generated when one of the developers reopen the POs and add line items. Moreover, during that time the procurement team blocked the IDOCs from going out to the vendors when changing and resaving the POs. Therefore, we need stop the generation of error message/work item when the IDOCs generation blocked.

Please check Rule 70000141which is the default rule for this task. Inside this rule a FM is attcahed which is reading table EDO13 and EDPP1 where agent is retrieved Probably this table entries are not maintained. This Workflow is getting triggered from Message cOntrol I think.

Weird characters when generating WebHelp from a word document

Hello,
First of all, I'm using RoboHelp 6.
I've seen many posts about this subject, but none with the same version.
I've generated a WebHelp from a word document, that contains accentuated characters (french).
When viewing that help from my local machine, it's ok.
When viewing that help from a web server, it displays weird characters.
I'd like to change the encoding to UTF8, in my web help.
I've seen (if I understood well) that we could change the output charset when generating a web help, but only from the RoboHelp 7 version.
How can I do such a thing on RoboHelp 6 version ?
I've tried to add <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> in many htm files, without success.
Any ideas ?

I am trying to generate Document Number which uses C1-DOC-NBR and generate Document Number . when i click on Freeze/Complete button of bill ,the following error is coming .

But i already attached issue center to the user ,SA characterstic type ie(public/non public),and all other parameters for that algorithm.

You need to verify the configuration of "Issuing Center", also ensure that "HITECH" Issuing Center is part of the User's Characteristic Value as defined under Document Number Details algorithm on the Installation Record.

Formatting error when generating an index in CS3

Commas between page numbers seem to be superscripted, raised about half-way up the space and in a smaller font size. I've reviewed character and paragraph style settings and can't seem to find a solution; also fiddling with items in the generating index dialogue box. Even manually changing it doesn't always work though it sometimes does. Hadn't noticed this until a couple of days ago.

These errors can be caused by oracle not being able to find files in oracle standard directories.
In order to fix the problem, try this:
export TNS_ADMIN=$ORACLE_HOME/network/admin

I searched the forum and knowledgebase, but i'm totally puzzled.
What is the best solution to avoid Indesign CS3 (5.0.3) from crashing when generating an index from a book with multiple documents containing references?
Is it the script from Ole to convert the book to one document?
Is it updating preview on each document (updating preview also crashes)?
Is it something else? Or is there a plug-in i could use?
As I said before, i have Indesign CS3 version 5.0.3.
