Checkbox without the box

Hey Forum,
I'm trying to create a JCheckbox without it showing the box. The functionality is simple, when a user clicks on the text of the checkbox the check will appear or disappear (but no box should be visible). I'm using this in a JMenu to turn tabs on and off.
Any ideas on how to do this?

Or a normal JMenu where you manually set the icon to a check image or null?

So, as I have been saying (and as Apple states on the website), if you are currently running Tiger, you MUST purchase the Box Set to upgrade to SL. Meaning, the only option Apple offers for Tiger to SL is to buy the Box Set. Thus, following Apples guidelines for updating to SL, I must (aka forced) to purchase iWork.
All I'm asking is why wouldn't Apple make an SL update for any OSX and charge $100 or $130, rather then imposing (notice I didn't say force, which they are really doing) iWork on everyone. You have to admit, that does sound like something Microsoft would do.
I knew the "msish" line would get everyone riled up ....hehehe.

Return Sony without the Box?

I bought a Sony hdr-as100v.
It works as it should.
Yet truthfully, I want to exchange it for the Go Pro Hero3 Black.
Can I return this Sony cam without the original box?
I have all the accessories, documentation, original recipt, with me.
Yet I do not have the box the camera came in with.
Any idea what I can do?

Good question! You can absolutely return products without the original packaging as long as you're still within the 15-day return period. Just be aware that a small deduction may apply for any missing documentation or accessories when processing the return. How should I transport my imac without the box

I am going to take my imac home with me for the summer but i cant find the box. What is the best way to transport it with out paying for an expensive iLugger?

Go to the USPS website. They will ship you boxes for free. idk what sizes they offer, but surely they have something that you could use.

You can copy music and itunes library to computer is there's enough hard disk space on new computer.
If you don't have iTunes installed on new computer, simply connect iPod to computer, copy the 'iPod_Control' folder to computer, all music store in that folder, then install iTunes and drag all music to iTunes and sync.

Legal to use iWork '09 from box set without the box set?

I purchased iWork '09 from the Mac Box Set off of ebay. It was for only the iWork software and not the entire set. The seller is telling I can legally have this software installed and use it even though the bx set comes with one serial # for all software included in it.
I did find a post on a different forum that states it is illegal to sell parts of the set separately. Is any of this true? Am I okay to have this software or should I return it? I am worried since I have a business which will use this software and just want to make sure there is never a chance for repercussions in the future.

Yep. One of the reasons to be quite careful about dealing on eBay. Here's what's provided at the online store:
The Family Pack Software License Agreement allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple software on up to a maximum of five (5) Apple-labeled computers at a time as long as those computers are located in the same household and used by persons who occupy that household. Thank you for your response, Chris. But I'm afraid I have to disagree. There are native 64 bit versions of iTunes available for OSX and Windows.
In a 64 Bit Windows environment native 64 Bit Applications install the DLL's in a directory called "Program Files" and a directory called "Program Files (x86)" (32 Bit applications only use the ladder).
iTunes 9 is consistent with this behavior - and it identified itself to the system as a 64 bit application (meaning it's process appears without a "*32" tag on it).

I used LiveCycle Designer to make a pdf form with many checkboxes. When I deleted a few of the checkboxes the rest left on the form renumbered themselves. This made my JavaScript out of sync since the JavaScript checkbox numbers did NOT update automatically. I am hoping there is a preference option to not auto update. I just cannot find it,

I believe you're using the same name for each checkbox, right?!
If so, each checkbox has an index number which represents its position relative to the other copies in the XML tree and when you add, delete or reorder the copies the index will always be recreated because thats the way how XML works.
There is no way to stop Designer from doing this, I'm afraid.
To address individual objects through JavaScript you should use unique names.

All of my apps are in iTunes AND on my iPod Touch. in iTunes it the checkbox next to sync apps is UNchecked. should i check the box and have to reorganize all my apps or leave it "un-synced"?

You should ALWAYS make sure that everything is on your computer and backed up, most especially before any update. The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer regularly.

How do I add variables to different checkboxes without using the 'Export Value' and then add them together (if checked)?

I am very new to JavaScript. I would like to create a checkbox with a numerical value variable activated if the box is checked. Unfortunately, I cannot use the 'Export Value' because I already need to use it for something else.

Brace yourself, here's your solution.
First of all, the export value of you checkboxes should definitly be the number of hours for the class since you will just add them up further.
Second, we will use the userName property for our second export value (its the field right under Name and its labeled "tooltip"). You will name the class there.
Finally, you need to name each checkbox with a number at the end starting with 1 all the way to 190. This will be used in loops. ("whatever.1", "whatever.2,....."whatever.190")
In the calculate event of "total hours":

You can try it out with just a few checkboxes at first. Don't forget that the loop mustn't go further than the existing field or you will get an error and the script will stop. Make sure no error show in the console (ctrl+J).

Until today, on a particular site I access multiple times daily, the username was always present, until I checked box today, alway remember password. How do I get back to the username always present, without having to click the box?

I've not seen a box without that icon, but I can't say with certainty that some, particular from the initial release of the iPhone 4S, didn't come without that icon. If you have doubts, though, I'd suggest you just not buy that device, if that's what you were considering. Buying only from authorized iPhone resellers is almost always going to be safest. There's no way of knowing what you might get if you buy from other sellers. It may be a geniune iPhone, but be from another country and either locked to a carrier there or jailbroken to unlock it.

Any idea when we will see units new out of the box without a scratch? I was out at Apple to pick up my iPhone 5 in black on Oct 12th. I opened the box in front of an Apple technician and there was a scratch on the edge. So I told her I didn't want a scratched iPhone. So she returned and brought out another phone. Well, she couldn't get it to a accept the new iPhone because there's a 24hr waiting period when you make a return. This is Verizon's policy, but of course we didn't find out until 2.5hrs later.
So she says you'll have to return but we will hold this phone for you. I was disappointed after being there for a total of 3.5hrs and no iPhone. I returned on Saturday hoping the next iPhone didn't have a scratch. I opened the box and there was a scratch! I live 40 minutes from these store, so it's not close.
I have an iPhone 4 that's in excellent condition! I don't want a new iPhone 5 with a scratch, unless its a scratch caused by me.

We're users here. Why would you ask a question here that no one can answer? Are you impaired in some way intellectually?

You can connect an external DVR to the verizon equipment, but it will be limited as far as what it can do. You will not have the full functionality as you would by using a Verizon DVR. To get more information as far as what will and will not work, please contact the tech support group of the external DVR company.

Is there an option to find out the version of the router without opening the router box?
I got the S/N, MAC and FG no. from the box of the router.
Is there any way to find out the version of the router from this numbers?
