Checkin of a document without checkout

We require a feature where we can simply upload a file and create a new revision, without checking it out first.
The current solutionwe have is a service that calls
1. Java Method mapResultSet
2. Java Method getLatestIDRevInfo
3. SubService CHECKOUT_SUB
4. SubService CHECKIN_SEL_SUB
The big drawback is that all meta information is replaced with that of the previous version, the Revision Label and dInDate are not up to date then - even when specified on the form template
Is there a way to get such a checkin service that actually uses the MetaData we pass in?
The only way i can think of would be a Java Method that stores all input parameter before it calls getLatestIDRevInfo and injects it after the checkout SubService

Checkin New Revision without checkout/browse steps.

Hi,
Is possible to do a check-in new revision for a document without check-out (that involves browse for file to upload) ? This is needed to just update some metadata fields and start a workflow process that is fired when one of the fields change from yes to no.
I already tried to use the service UPDATE_METADATA and UPDATE_DOCINFO but the workflow did not fire.
Any helps is appreciated.

nope, UCM will not trigger a workflow at all unless a new rev is checked in.
There are a number of customization approaches to do this "invisibly" though.
We at Fishbowl Solutions have created our workflow solution set which can help in this area.
On the update of a metadata field we can automatically and invisibly rev the content item so that it drops into workflow just like a normal document.

1. goto the t code VOV7 item category determination and select the item category and put the billing relevance as "A"
2. once the step 1 is completed then it will show the billing relevant status AS "A"in the delivery documnt at the item level
The above configuration will be applicable in the new documents only

How do I add page numbers to my document without the page numbers automatically changing? The title page is blank, I can type in 1 on the 1st typed page, but the #1 automatically goes into the next page and will not change.

Click at bottom of the first page:
Menu > Insert > Section break
Click somewhere in the 2nd page (not the header/footer)
Inspector > Layout > Section > Page Numbers > Start at 1 > Configuration > uncheck use previous headers and footers
Click into the header or footer of the second page:
Menu > Insert > Auto Page Numbers…
If there is anything in the header or footer on the first page that you don't want just select it and delete it.
If you really wanted to manual place page numbers on each page you will have to use a section break between each and every page. I can't imagine that would be useful.

How can I paste a part of a sheet that I copied in Numers in a pages document without the formulas, simply as text. Used this a lot in Office. When I make some changes in the pages document. f.i. deleting a cell, I don't want to change other cells. Also when I copy a part of a sheet from Numbers and one of the cells that is part of the formula is not also copied, when I paste in Pages it shows as an error.

There are two solutions to the first question, narrowing to one solution when you have a broken link causing an error.
Here's the "works always" solution.
Copy (Command-C) the table or range in Numbers
Click off the table on the blank canvas of the sheet.
Edit > Paste Values
Command-C
Switch to Pages
Command-V

Can a change be made to the original Word document without losing form fields in a saved PDF form?

I have a new fillable form created with Acrobat 9 that has 10 pages of fields on it. I noticed a typo in the original Word doc I created the form from and wondered if there is anyway to make changes in the source document without having to recreate all fields again.

Yes, just create a new PDF and replace the pages of the old one that has the form fields with the pages from the new: Document > Replace Pages
Any fields, code, bookmarks, links, etc. will be retained.

There is a long story about profit center accounting. I assume you are using Classic PCA, this means you can see the PCA documents. And the solutions is below:
For P/L account, even you don't maintain cost element for it, if you maintain the profit center in the application (Frontend transaction), then PCA line items will be generated for this account.
For B/S account, if you maintain the default Profit Center with transaction 3KEH/3KEI, the PCA line items will generated for this account also.
Hints, don't maintain default profit center for AR/AP accounts, these accounts to be treated in periodic processing.
First, calculate the distribution/adjust by F.5D, then transfer it by 1KEK. for others account rather than AR/AP, use F.5E
For you case, if this account is P/L account, but you don't maintain profit center in the transaction, you can maintain default profit center as B/S account in 3KEH and 3KEI, then transfer it subsequently by transaction 1KE8.

It is not a bug, but a new feature.<br />
Some menu entries in the main menu bar are hidden if you use the mouse and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu (Bug 626825).
You can see the difference if you use Alt+F to open the File menu or other menus like the Edit menu (Alt+E) and Bookmarks menu (Alt+B) and compare that to what you see if you use the mouse to open the menu after you have made the menu bar visible by tapping Alt or by pressing F10.

Creating Billing Document Without Reference

Hi all,
I'm trying to create a billing document without reference to any order or delivery, using the function module BAPI_BILLINGDOC_CREATEMULTIPLE. In the internal table field BILLINGDATAIN-ORDBILLTYP i'm using FX (Billing from External Transact).
I'm getting the error VF(027): Delivery type cannot be invoiced with billing type FX.
Does anyone know how to avoid this? Is there any configuration missing in the standard billing type FX?

You have to enter sales document type in DOC_TYPE field, Now system will not give error.
These are the minimum fields you have to maintain in BAPI.
Sales area,DOC_TYPE,ORDBILLTYP,BILL_DATE, sold to party,ship,bill to party,payer, plant,material and quantity.
and in CONDITIONDATAIN maintain condition type,value and currency.

I have many novels saved under *.htm, doc and pdf.
I'm using Quick Office, but when I zoom in, I have to slide the screen from side to side just to watch the whole things, which make my eyes feel very tired.
So I need your help about which app is the best for viewing documents without sliding while zooming, I mean, when you zoom in, you just have to slide vertically to see the whole documents, and don't have to slide horizontally.

All running on Wine 1.1.7, Oblivion is running around 150 mods, and QTP3, Body mods, High res texture packs for the character skins, with HDR lighting. As you can see the FPS does not change, it fluctuated between 19-20 on all three runs.
Especially with Dual cores, you will find that games do not loose FPS even with things like a lightweight music player running in the background. Windows scheduler simply was not made for that kind of thing, and benifits alot more from a lower number of background processes. I wont say linux does not benifit, but with Dual cores and CFS, it is not really noticable anymore.
Wait, does that mean you have better performance while you are running more stuff? Does the desktop manager handle graphics better?
This really did confuse me...

Clearing document without line items

While doing automatic/manual clearing, clearing doc gets posted with zero line items. We have requirement that documents without any line item can not appear in the legal books.
Apart from validation/substitution, is there any way to avoid this ?

Problem is not how clearing rules/lines work but is there any solution in SAP to stop a clearing document being created without line items.
For eg - while doing clearing, FX gain/loss line item arises with zero amount in local currency. I know this is standard behaviour & also correct one, but, the requirement is that such zero lines can not appear in the legal books.
Do you have any solution ?
