Checking emails using Get Account Info function

When using the "Get Account Info" function to check and delete emails on POP servers, the first message in the display list always shows no information regarding that message.
Resorting the list has no effect. While it will allow me to determine what the "mystery message" is by moving it to a different location on the list, the top message in the resorted list remains blank as far any information about it is concerned. The two screen shots show what I'm talking about. The first one is of the original list - the second one after changing the sort. As you can see, in both cases, the only information available about the message is the date stamp.
This is an absolutely reliable occurrence with POP servers. It may also happen on IMAP servers, but I have no email accounts on IMAP servers with which to test it.  I've submitted a bug report to Apple, but if anyone here has any suggestions, it would be much appreciated.

It happens across all accounts. Anyone here should be able to replicate this just by checking their email on the server using the "get account info".

  • Mail 7.0 - "Get Account Info" listing - a bug?

    I very frequently use the "Get Account Info" listing (via the 'gearwheel' at the bottom of the Maibox list) to remove unnecessary mail from the server to save downloading it yet again to my wife's little G4 iBook. However, with Mavericks they seem to have messed up the window as the listing now has no order and I'm unable to set it to any order - I prefer date - although it sometimes lists as size in descending order. A bug?

    No luck, unfortunetly.  I've even restarted the whole computer.  They are usually still there, and sometimes, even older messages that I deleted from the drafts folder a long time ago, reappear as well.  I've also deleted the account from Mail and set it up from scratch several times hoping that would work, but it failed as well.

    I have more than one email account, If I setup my gmail, yahoo, Hotmail, ymail accounts, then I see separate inbox for each account, and to check email I have to inbox of each account. Is it possible that I see all emails of my all email account in one inbox window, as well sent in one sent window etc....

    Hi Everyone,
    I just got my iPhone from Movistar Venezuela and I've found I'm unable to send email using my Yahoo account. However, I can receive Yahoo email just fine (paid $20 for Mail Plus subscription), my GMail account can send and receive perfectly, and I can go surfin' Safari with no problems too.
    The error message I get is "Cannot send mail: an error occurred while delivering this message". I called Movistar Customer Support and they said everything was fine on their end...
    In typical Apple fashion, the error message is so simple I have no idea where the problem is. Does anyone know how can I get more information and how to solve this annoying problem? My Yahoo account is actually my primary account...

    Acabo de comprarme un iPhone de Movistar en Venezuela y me encuentro sin poder enviar emails con mi cuenta Yahoo. Sin embargo, si puedo recibir correo Yahoo bien (pague $20 por mi suscripcion a Mail Plus), mi cuenta de GMail si puede enviar y recibir email sin problema y puedo navergar con Safari sin ningun problema.

    Creo que resolvi el problema, temporalmente.
    1) Borra tu cuenta
    2) Vuelvela a crear
    3) Ve a Ajustes
    4) Ve a Mail Contactos Calendarios
    5) Ve a la cuenta problematica
    6) Ve a SMTP
    7) Anadir nuevo
    8)
    Nombre servidor: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    Nombre de usuario: no dejar vacio
    Contrasena: no dejar vacio
    Usar SSL: si
    Autenticacion: Contrasena
    Puerto del Servidor: 25

    I think I solved the issue, temporarily at least
    1) Delete account
    2) Create again
    3) Go to settings
    4) Go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    5) Open problematic account
    6) Go to SMTP
    7) Add a new server
    8)
    Name: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    User name: do not leave blank
    Password: do not leave blank
    SSL: Yes
    Autentication: Password
    Port: 25

  • Why doesn't my new Thunderbird account see my migrated email files and account info?

    Said bye to Win XP and did clean install of Win 7. Have tried 3 dif methods described at

    files/settings/accounts, but nothing shows up except the account configured at install of

    "Firefox", or "Thunderbird" folder in the profile folder path that contains the registry.dat
    file or profiles.ini file and the "Profiles" folder (Windows and Mac)...
    My understanding was that all I needed to back up was the profile folder and all below it and transfer it to my new Thunderbird Win 7 location. I have no registry.dat file or profiles.ini file.

    Umm, that looks OK. I was wondering if it had inserted an extra layer of folders; when moving from XP to W7 myself, I found it had separated the profile data into a new subfolder, Profiles, but you already have that and it's correctly declared in the profiles.ini file.
    I'm puzzled. Just to check, the folder named pf8j2npn.default should contain, amongst other things, folders named Mail and ImapMail, and files such as prefs.js, abook.mab and history.mab

    Clear the "include account names" checkbox. Click the "copy text to clipboard" button, use paste (ctrl+v) to paste into your next reply here. Feel free to chop out anything you consider too personal (but please leave server names), and we don't need all the stuff about fonts and printers. But I'm not expecting it to list very many accounts. :-(

  • Email used for account is deactivated.

    Hi. The email address I used for an old skype account has been deactivated rendering access to my account impossible. Is there anyway I can have an admin / memeber of staff change my email address for me given that my original one is now disabled?   I need to do password recovery since it's been years since I used this account. But there's profile / people on there I would like to contact after a few years of not speaking to them  

    Bumping as it's getting ignored. Not a difficult query surely? 

  • Nokia 5800 sending emails using tiscali account

    I have recently purchased a nokia 5800 and have set up may email account. I can receive my emails no problem but am unable to send them. I get an email back from system substation 500 which looks as though they have been sent but they never arrive. I use a tiscali account and have checked my settings and all seems ok?

    I have exactly the same problem with an E72. Presumably TalkTalk (Tiscali) won't accept outgoing e-mails from Nokia. You can set the account up using pop3 directly and not use Nokia Messaging. This works.

  • Trying to spell check email, I get this: "This language is no longer available for spell checking.

    Firefox does automatically check my emails like it does when I use Word Perfect. When I select spell check, I get this message: "This language is no longer available for spell checking. Please check another in the spelling options box."
    When I click on the spelling options box, I get the same message. I have never changed any settings as regards to spell checking

    Which language is selected if you check that via the right-click context menu > Languages in a text area?
    Is that dictionary still installed and enabled?

    You get e-mails just fine, but do you have rights to log into the e-mail server at myfirstandlastname.com? If you can do that (check with your hosting ISP to find out if they will let you), then you can just set up the iPhone to use that e-mail server to send your mail. It's possible to set up an iPhone IMAP account to get mail from gmail, but use a separate non-gmail SMTP server to send outgoing mail, all within the same iPhone e-mail account.
    If you can get this working, then you won't need to mess with reply-to headers. Your e-mail will not only look like it got sent from myfirstandlastname.com -- it actually WILL be sent from there and all replies will automatically go there and then be forwarded as usual to your ATT/Yahoo address. No one will know that ATT/Yahoo is involved, and both your sent and received e-mail will show up in the same single e-mail account on the iPhone.
    I do this all the time with my e-mail. My account is really at gmail, but the e-mail address says it came from mycollege.edu. My old college offers me an alumni forwarding-for-life account. They only forward mail, though; they don't hold it. They do also run an SMTP server, though, and that's what I use to make my outgoing e-mail look as if it came from mycollege.edu.

    How get my iPhone 3G to recognize my email password?  This happens occasionally and usually 'fixes' itself somehow.  But this time, I can't get the phone to accept my email password. 

    I really can't comprehend the logic that leads to believe that password for old apple id will come to e-mail for new id. Buy may be I just misunderstood something. Contact Apple for assist with password retrieval. If you can verify yourself as account owner they may be able to help you.

    Found this after searching these discussions for over an hour, and it really works, but you MUST create a new account, don't edit your existing one. Very quick & easy!!! Here you go, courtesy of Guillermo Toro-Lira:
    OK guys, problem solved, at least for those with a dotMac account like me.
    You have to create a new MobileMe account in your iPhone using your new MobileMe email address ( [email protected] instead of [email protected] ).
    Select Add Account... on Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Then MobileMe, enter your name, MobileMe address, password and description and select Save. The system will validate your account first. Then go back to Accounts, select your dotMac account and select delete. Your new mails, contacts, calendars will be sync'd by your new MobileMe account.
    It looks like iPhone classic 2.0 requires your new MobileMe address ([email protected]) to send emails.

    I accessed my .Mac account with the iPhone's mail client with my first generation iPhone for over a year including for a while after the change to MM before I purchased my iPhone 3G.
    The first generation iPhone and the iPhone 3G are capable of running the same firmware so there is no difference between the two in this regard. To say the first generation iPhone requires creating and accessing the @Me account instead of the @Mac account is incorrect.
    If this is true with many, how come not a single person has chimed in with this thread saying the same thing?

    Hi can anyone help me with this problem, I have my Sky email account set up on my C7 phone,( as well as Ovi mail and a Yahoo account.) The problem I have is the email going back to 2010 that is sitting in my Sky account marked as read is still being downloaded to my phone eveytime I check for mail.
    I delete them from my phone in one massive block, but the next time I have new mail coming through it downoads all the old stuff again!
    I have tried deleting the mailbox from my phone and setting up again but even that didn't cure it!

  • Cannot send email using gmail account

    Within the last month or so, sending mail from my gmail id in Thunderbird fails. Receiving works fine. I'm running windows 7 on a desktop.
    Status says - 'connected to smtp.gmail.com...'
    Error message is - 'Sending of message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to SMTP server smtp.gmail.com timed out. Try again or contact your network administrator.'
    Server settings are:
    Server type - pop mail server
    Server name - smtp.gmail.com
    port - 995
    connection security - ssl/tls
    authentication method - normal password
    outgoing server settings - for my id - I have smtp.gmail.com

    Not sure why you have port 995. That is the Inbound port for POP email server. Last time I checked the SMTP ports are 587 or 465.

  • Why does LabView 7.1 crash when using "Get Channel Info" vi ?

    I have written a program to get channel information for all my virtual channels. It worked fine in Labview 6i but when we upgraded to 7.1, it crashes with "Labview has generated errors and will be closed by WIndows". We have a SCXI-1001 with 6 SCXI 1102 modules, 2 SCXI 1102B modules, 1 SCXI-1102C module, and one SCXI-1140 module. Debugging reveals that the program crashes when the 1102C module channels are reached. I have attached the code I am currently using. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Neil

    Hello,
    I have two questions for you please:
    1. You mentioned early that debugging revealed that the problem was being originated on the SCXI-1102C module. Can you please try taking this module out and test your program again? Also try testing only one module and see if it works, then keep on adding more and see what happens.
    2. I run your program on LabVIEW 7.1 and it didn't give me any problems. In general, anything on LabVIEW 6.1 cab be recognized by LabVIEW 7.1, so maybe the order of installation you did is not correct. Did you first take the board out, uninstall the previous version of NI-DAQ you had, install LabVIEW 7.1, then NI-DAQ 7.3 and then plugged the board in?
    Please let me know about this.
