Checking for authorized computers

Hello,
I have 2 questions today:
1) How can I check to see how many computers I have authorized to play my iTunes?
2) I recently tried to move some of my music onto my wife's computer using a data disk. Everything transfered fine except for the songs that I purchased from the iTunes store - I sort of expected this. So how do I get those songs to play on her computer? She already has iTunes on her computer and I brought all of the music into HER iTunes - the protected AAC files being the exception. Should I somehow authorize her computer 1st and THEN bring the over the protected files?

Yes. In iTunes, File -> Add folder (or files)to iTunes library.
it's just that I can't access it until I try to play the song and then authorize the computer.
You can access it jst fine.,When you try tp play it. iTunes will tell you the computer is not authorized. Simply put in the your iTunes account and password to authorize the computer and the songs will play fine.

Seems kind of dumb not to be able to deathorize a computer remotely. I also have sold computers that I (apparently) did not deathorize, since I only currently have two, but show three authorized computers.
That aside, thanks for the information. It's a good explanation.
One small correction to what King Penguin said: you can deauthorize all if you have reached at least 3 computers on your authorization limit, not necessarily the full 5.

If you're using iTunes for Windows, you may need to reveal the menu:

This will turn the menus on and off temporarily. This will change back to the default, the iTunes menus being turned off, when you next close iTunes.

Check for authorized employee

Hi experts,
I have a doubt regarding the check of employee authorization. That is, we are providing 2 reports for MSS user in portal. The MSS user can view only those employees who reports to him. But, in addition to this, we need to filter only the authorized employees, not all the employees.
I want to know how to check whether an employee is authorized employee. what is the user of the function module 'HR_CHECK_AUTHORITY_PERNR'?

My computer was stolen so I deauthorized all computers that had iTunes on them on 10/28/2011. I have a new computer and it was authorized for iTunes. When I checked my account it says I have 2 authorized computers, but this one should be the only one.

What recourse do you have when a music purchase does not download to your authorized computers? ("All purchases have been downloaded for this account.") No they haven't!

On May 5th I purchased a song on iTunes on my phone, which downloaded to my iPhone succesfully. When checking the next day on all of my authorized computers, none of them woudl download a copy of it, with the message upon checking for available downloads being that all purchases had already been downloaded. I have the receipt cited in the iTune store history pane, but no copy of this tune has ever been downloaded to any computer in my account.
What can I do at this point to get a copy to download onto my computers? Does it require that I purchase the tune twice? (Can I even do so?)

ITunes for Windows freezes when importing a library. I have a large but not huge library of mostly iTunes purchased music on two authorized computers and would like to sync the files, export the library as a playlist, and import it on the other computer.

I am running iTunes for Windows 10.2.2 on Windows 7 Home. I have my iTunes library on both this computer and another authorized machine running Windows 7 Professional. I have a large but not enormous library, as I'm one of those people who doesn't pirate, use torrents, borrow from a dozen friends, or whatever other shades of gray you might imagine. It's mostly iTunes purchases with my old CD collection imported. I have started using the following technique to sync my libraries between my two authorized computers, an ability which you can probably all agree should one day be added to iTunes -- that would be different from Home Sharing, because the music would be stored locally and thus available on the road. With the added benefit of the entire library being backed up on the other machine in real-time. Anyway, when I switch from my desktop to laptop and vice versa, I use the following technique:
Connect both machines to the home network. One machine is the "Active" machine, which has most recently been used for iTunes media, purchases, ratings, etc.
On the "Active" machine, File-->Library-->Export. Save the file as "Library.xml" on the shared drive of the other machine.
Right-click "Library.xml" where it's been saved, and open another file that has two lines in it: The root path of the iTunes library on one machine and the root path of the iTunes library on the other machine.
Do a find/replace all in Notepad to make the library XML file point to where the files will be saved on the "Inactive" machine.
Run Microsoft SyncToy to synchronize the files between both music libraries; the most recent files win. This avoids copying the entire multi-gigabyte library over the network.
Open iTunes on the "Inactive" machine.
Go to Music, Select All, Delete. Keep files.
Do the same for Movies, Music Videos.
Go down to Playlists, select the top one, hold down the delete button until they're all gone.
File-->Library-->Import Playlist. Choose the "Library.xml" file you saved.
First a status bar comes up that says, "Importing library." It has the continually-scrolling progress bar, not the one that starts on the left and steadily creeps right. Then after about 30 seconds, that clears out. Wait. Typically a few minutes. Eventually a status bar will pop up saying something like, "Evaluating gapless playback information," or something like that.
The "Inactive" computer is now the "Active" computer. I can now play my library, it has all my playlists and metadata from the other machine.
Delete all the duplicate playlists named "Music," "Genius," "Purchased," and "iTunes DJ."
Well, I just upgraded to iTunes 10.2.2 a few days ago and tried to do this again like I've done it dozens of times before. Now, iTunes just goes unresponsive after the library import. It got through the "Importing library" bar to the long wait and stopped. I can still multiprocess and use other programs, but iTunes is hovering back there not responding to clicks. Task Manager doesn't seem to think iTunes is using my CPU, and I don't see my hard drive rattling. Any thoughts on why iTunes might hang up when importing a large library?
... Also, please help lobby Apple to come up with a network sync tool built into iTunes for a user with multiple authorized computers. Something different than Home Sharing so I can pull my laptop off the network and still have the synced library with me. And all my metadata changes will sync. The technique I use seems a little kludgey, don't you think?

iTunes isn't an editor. You need an app that's intended for editing audio files, like Adobe Audition (http://www.adobe.com/products/audition.html) or Audacity (free in the App Store).

my acct. shows that I have 5 authorized computers for my itunes acct. not sure which 5 but I do know it is not my new laptop. our main home computer that I use for managing and adding to my music library may have crashed . so I deauthorized all 5 computers (that was my only choice). I was then hoping to authorize just one computer (my new lap top), I was then hoping that my entire music library would then show up via my itunes/apple account where is it ?

I cannot access any of my old purchases. Movies, mainly. It has nothing to do with authorized accounts, I've checked for available downloads a thousands times over. They simply do not exist any longer.

Well, this has been going on for a long time and I've had my absolute fill of it tonight.
I have purchased a large collection of movies from iTunes that for mainly the reason that I have a new computer, my old films no longer exist as downloaded iTunes videos. That being said, I know I should be able to download purchased films as long as they're still on the iTunes store. I cannot download any of them. Tonight I decided to buy a collection that should have allowed me to download all three films (which I had previously owned, but got sick of trying to find a solution to why I cannot redownload them). So tonight, I purchase this collection of three films, downloads the frst one. Theres absolutely no sign of the second or third film and when I select Check for available purchases it says all available purchases have been downloaded.
If this was true, 25+ movies would be available to download, least to say the two missing from tonights purchase (which I have purchased in the past as well).
My account is authorized, everything is alright with my account and I have tried multiple suggestions and am completely lost. Apple support is giving me the run-around.
What do I do?

In general different users will be given different authorizations based on their role in the orgn.
We create ROLES and assign the Authorization and TCODES for that role, so only that user can have access to those T Codes.
USe SUIM and SU21 T codes for this.
Much of the data in an R/3 system has to be protected so that unauthorized users cannot access it. Therefore the appropriate authorization is required before a user can carry out certain actions in the system. When you log on to the R/3 system, the system checks in the user master record to see which transactions you are authorized to use. An authorization check is implemented for every sensitive transaction.
If you wish to protect a transaction that you have programmed yourself, then you must implement an authorization check.
This means you have to allocate an authorization object in the definition of the transaction.
For example:
program an AUTHORITY-CHECK.
AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT <authorization object>
ID <authority field 1> FIELD <field value 1>.
ID <authority field 2> FIELD <field value 2>.
ID <authority-field n> FIELD <field value n>.
The OBJECT parameter specifies the authorization object.
The ID parameter specifies an authorization field (in the authorization object).
The FIELD parameter specifies a value for the authorization field.
The authorization object and its fields have to be suitable for the transaction. In most cases you will be able to use the existing authorization objects to protect your data. But new developments may require that you define new authorization objects and fields.

The AUTHORITY-CHECK checks whether a user has the appropriate authorization to execute a particular activity.
This Authorization concept is somewhat linked with BASIS people.
As a developer you may not have access to access to SU21 Transaction where you have to define, authorizations, Objects and for nthat object you assign fields and values. Another Tcode is PFCG where you can assign these authrization objects and TCodes for a profile and that profile in turn attached to a particular user.
Take the help of the basis Guy and create and use.

AUTHORITY-CHECK for KUNNR

I am new in core abap. For my report i have to do AUTHORITY-CHECK for kunnr. I am not finding any suitable object to use. kIndly suggest.
Currently i am using the following code.
UNPACK p_kunnr TO ws_werks.
AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT 'M_MSEG_WWE'
ID 'ACTVT' FIELD '01'
ID 'WERKS' FIELD ws_werks.
But this is giving dump in case KUNNR contains some alphabets because of type mismatch. Kindly suggest how can i achieve the same.

Don't use a WERKS authorization for KUNNR, did you foresee the problems that may will arise when you will manage the user authorisations and roles, this authorization is checked in many standard programs on WERKS fields.
- SU20 - Create an authorization field with data element KUNNR and check table KNA1 (or use template KNDNR, look via SE16 at table AUTHX look for authorization fields using KNA1 as a control table)
- SU21 - Create an authorization object in a Z-customer class which use this field and the ACTVT field (template W_AUFT_RMB)
- Use the new object in your program
- Give the object name to those who manage roles via PFCG
Perform some search on subject like [Creating a Customer-Specific Authorization Object|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_ish471/helpdata/EN/9e/74ba3bd14a6a6ae10000000a114084/frameset.htm]
Look also at some authorization objects like BRGRU which were intended to manage groups of customers.

A simple approach would be to define three different transactions (e.g. Z_MYALV01, Z_MYALV02, Z_MYALV03) for editing/deleting, editing only and displaying only. Add the following coding to the report displaying your ALV grid:
CASE syst-tcode.
    WHEN gc_tcode_create.    " 01
      " Allow all grid functions
    WHEN gc_tcode_change. " 02
      " Suppress grid functions for deleting rows
    WHEN gc_tcode_display. " 03
      " Suppress grid functions for editing/deleting
    WHEN others.
      RETURN.
   ENDCASE.

If you need to authorize your new computer and are unable due to already having five authorized computers, you can deauthorize all computers by doing the following:

3. Click the Account button again (your Apple ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
4. In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.
Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have fewer than two authorized computers. If you need assistance on using this feature, please contact iTunes Store support via email (http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/).

Function module for se16 with out authority check for se16

I am creating a tode YSE16 which has same functionality as SE16 but having its own authority check. I am calling a function module RS_TABLE_LIST_CREATE function module to get the functionality of SE16. But is there any way that i can get the function module which do not check for the authorization for se16 and execute my tcode.

Guys , Sri is modifying the YSE16 as per this requirement. Do u have some other solution? Thanks.
Requirement is to create customized tcodes YSE16, YSM30 and YSE38 for se16, sm0 and se38. Lets start with YSE16.
Client want YSE16 tcode to restrict users based on some tables within a authorization group or even * value for auth group field.
SE16 restricted on:
S_TABU_DIS
Auth Group and Activity
As per Requirement YSE16 tcode sld be restricted on :
Y_TABU_DI2 (customized object)
Auth Group, Activity and Table name
We dont want to give SE16 to users in Production. So basically requirement is to restrict users on table name with YSE16 irrespective on authorization group. User sld only be able to access the table mentioned in Table name field.
so Srilu is trying to modify the Program. Can you please suggest some other way to modify it.
