Checking IGS,SLD bridge

Q1) How to check whether IGS running.
according to GRC guide, i checked in URL http://<hostname>:5<instance>80
but i didnt get any screen/graph..how to solve this.
Q2).After installation of GRC AC  CC5.3, to ensure SLD is configured and running
i checked in http://<hostname>:55<instance>00/sld/index.html.
There in technical settings -administraton, i got status running but when i click data supplier bridge
i didnt get any status,,,how to rectify this problem..please let me know ASAP.

Hi Joseph
On which instance you have installed SAP GRC ?. By default the IGS URL will be disabled to show graphs.
Have you actually verified that IGS URL is correctly given in the visual administrator? . Also check in the hosts file of GRC server if  hostname  of GRC server is available with correct ip address.
To Check if SLD is working properly do the following test.
1) login to the SAP j2ee home page of  GRC Server. URL will be http://hostname:5<instno>00
then click on Web Dynpro tools ->  Content administrator -> click  Check  SLD connection. When you click test connection , it should be successfull.
Then in the Maintain JCos  Destinations -> click the test and ping of your JCos which you have given.
Also confirm that GRC RTAs have been installed on your back end system.

  • SLD Bridge Errors

    Hello Gurus,
I have configured SLD Bridge from my production system to Solution manager. I can now import all ABAP information into SOLMAN via RZ70 without problems.
Now i want to send production J2EE information to my SOLMAN for this i goto Visual Admin and Under SLD Data Supplier i trigger the data transfer to SLD. Hope i am doing this right?
The transfer completes successfully and information is reflected correctly on the local SLD but nothing comes up on SOLMAN. I checked the local SLD logs and i get the following error.
#41 06/12/2009 15:58:36.350 [Thread-6063] ERROR com.sap.lcr.sagent.BuilderDirector: Data supplier circular redirection. Check data supplier bridge targets. (Data will be ignored on this server) Redirect list: [com.sap.lcr.sagent.data.Instance@6b05daa9 ]
Do i have to maintain any SLD bridge details for J2ee apart from RZ70. Please let me know.

    Hi,
The AS ABAP (BI) system has to be registered in the SLD. If it is not registered in the SLD logon to the SLD: http ://:/sld. (Your configured SLD (central or local SLD))Please check in Home -> Technical Systems -> select type ABAP. This should have configuration of your ABAP (BI) system. If it is missing, logon to your ABAP (BI) system -> goto transaction RZ70. Fill in the SLD bridge: gateway info -> Activate -> Start data collection. If a error message like "ABAP backend doesn't exist in the SLD" pops up while running the template installer, there could be different possibilities for this error. Starting SP14 more detailed error sources will be popped up. For lower SPS the exact reason of the error can be found in the default trace file. Please look at this link

  • SLD-Bridge / Data Supplier Bridge and new technical systems

    Hi,
The data supplier (data collection process) periodically sends data to the SLD bridge. This SLD bridge provides this information to the SLD.
My question: Will new technical systems be created(!) and updated automatically in the SLD by using SLD bridge??
Or do I have to create new technical systems allways manually by SLD browser??
    Thanks and regards!

How about the "creation" process of technical systems??
I am confused of the idea of the SLD bridge. The idea sounds great to me, but how is the link between the technical systems and all these collected data passed to the SLD realized??
The online documentation is not very helpful...

  • SLD Bridge vs SLD Synchronization

    Hi all,
Can you please explain the differences between SLD Bridge versus SLD Synchronization ?
And why and when to choose one option over the other ?

    Hi Nadir,
As of version 7.1 the SLD content Sync should be available.

  • SLD Bridge

    Hello everybody,
I have a few doubts about SLD Bridge, I need to do a bridge between 2 SLD's, I've been reading the documentation about it, and I know where to configure it, but what about as an example with Business Systems, I mean I have for example a BS_QAS1 in SLD1, and I have configured in SLD1 a Bridge to an SLD2, if I need a Business System in SLD2 for BS_QAS1 how do I doit, is automatically visible?, I've been reading about that Business System Information is not reportable in this automatic way, is this true?, and in another examples what about Technical Systems? if I have in SLD1 TS_SYS1, and I need it in SLD2, I have the bridge but I can't see it in Technical Systems area for SLD2, then how does this work?? I want to believe that when doing the bridge SLD1 reports information about landscape to SLD2 so I could see this technical systems in SLD2, maybe I'm understanding wrong the concept, can anyone clarify me this points?,  cause I'm a little lost in here, thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Julio Cesar

    HI,
SLD Bridge is the open Port where one one side its connected to SLDs (SLD1, SLD2 ...etc) and on another side its linked with corresponding Data supplier.
If you have installed multiple SLD servers (for example, for security purposes), the SLD bridge can be configured to send data to each of these servers. In the figure above, one SLD server has been installed locally and multiple SLD servers have been installed remotely.
The SLD bridge converts the system data that is sent by the SLD data suppliers to the SLD server into a CIM-compliant format.
The data between the SLD data suppliers of ABAP-based systems and the SLD bridge is exchanged by means of an RFC connection. Therefore, you have to configure an SAP gateway service. We recommend that you use a local gateway.

  • SLD bridge query

    Hello,
We have configured SLD bridge between two systems which is PI version 7.0 and Solman 7.1. But the data is not auto transfer,we have configured using this link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/43/da21ba13660aa5e10000000a1553f6/content.htm but still no luck.
Are there any options/steps that you can suggest?
    Please advise.
    Thanks in advance.
    Virgilio.

    Hi,
    1) When you press execute button in RZ70 transaction in ABAP and
press "send data to sld" button in SLD Data Supplier tab in Visual
Admin in J2ee it will update data in both SLD simultaneously if SLD
Bridge working fine between the SLD.
    2) By default data is updated in 720 minutes means that the data about
current system will be updated in the SLD twice a day. You can change
it by entering a different value in Minute field in RZ70 Tx.
The  most common cause of this problem is that the objectserver name
of both SLD's is the same, (generally the default which is localhost)
Please ensure that each SLD has a unique objectserver name
This can be see in Administration -> Profile -> All
Please also see the following SAP Note:
#[935245|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/935245] - Importance of "Object Server" SLD parameter
    If you have
configured this correctly and nothing is being forwarded with no
errors in the logfiles i suspect this is the casue of the problem.

    Hi JackLim
You had better check RFC Destination by SM59,
and JCo RFC Provider by Visual Admin .
1:Check whether Program ID is matching.
2:Check ABAP System is Unicode or Non-Unicode,
      and collect settings.

Check off the Unicode Flag of JCo RFC Provider.

    Hi,
Check this link which may help u:
    http://sap.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/sap-basis/igs-upgrade-1455477
The installation/upgrade procedures for the integrated IGS are as follows:
    Integrated Version Installation
The integrated IGS is automatically installed with the SAP Web Application Server.
    Integrated Version Upgrade
You find the upgrade files for the integrated IGS version on the SAP Service Marketplace:
http://service.sap.com/swdc  ®  Download  ®  Support Packages and Patches ®  Entry by ApplicationGroup  ®  SAP Frontend Components ®  SAP IGS  ®  SAP IGS .
There, you find the IGS executables and libraries (igsexe_.sar) as well as the IGS folder structure (igshelper_.sar) containing among others font files.
With the upgrade files of the executables and libraries, proceed exactly like you would with kernel patches (for example, extract the Archive to the same location). More information about kernel patches can be found in the related note 19466 in the section Copying and Installing a Patch.
The upgrade files for the IGS folder structure must be extracted to the instance directory (DIR_INSTANCE). More information can be found in note 1028690.
After a restart of the Web AS the new IGS is up and running.
Information about finding out your IGS patch level is provided in note 931900.
For an upgrade of an integrated IGS please also check note 896400.
For more info check this SAP Help doc:

  • Setting up and checking JDBC-ODBC bridge

I'm supporting an application that does not use general JDBC drivers but relies on the JDBC-ODBC bridge. Can't currently get a connection to my 10.2 database, and it looks like the problem is that the JDBC-ODBC bridge isn't set up. Any hints on how to do this?
(I originally posted this on the database forum but was told to try here. Odd since my app is HTML and XHTML, and was not developed using JDev).
    Regards
    Simon

Why do you use the JDBC-ODBC bridge; if the database is Oracle 10? You should connect from Java to Oracle with the API driver or even better with the Oracle JDBC driver.
If the client is not Java there should be no reason the use the bridge.
The Sun JDBC-ODBC bridge is not intented for production.
You can find configuration information in this document:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/guide/jdbc/getstart/bridge.doc.html

    Hi,
Check your CIM client settings in the visual admin, check whether the connection test work fine or not.
After resetting the password for SLDDSUSER you can try logging using the url http://fqdn:5xx00/useradmin. Then maintain the password and check the connection now.
