Checking in and out files (source control) in form 6i

Hai,
how we can make use of source control options in form 6i.
thnaks and regards
vivek

Hi there
From what you have posted it would appear that you are using RoboHelp for Word. I don't believe RoboHelp for Word has ever been configured to integrate with RoboSource Control.
If you were using RoboHelp HTML, it is actually configured to work with RoboSource Control and is totally integrated where as you work on topics they are checked out automatically.

  • Check-in and out freezes Dreamweaver CS3

I am using Dreamweaver CS3 on a PC with Windows Vista
Ultimate in a business environment. We have a seperate development
server (Local) and Internet server (Remote) that we use to check-in
and out and put files. This is done using our LAN. Previously we
used Dreamweaver 8 with the same setup without problem.
Initially DW CS3 worked properly with this same setup.
However, approximately 6 weeks ago the length of time to check in
and out, or put a file began to increase. Within the last several
days, it has been impossible for me to check in or out a file
without the process freezing DW. Another co-worker can still
check-in and out files from her PC using DW3, but it takes several
minutes to complete a check-in, out or put.
We know that memory is not a problem on either server and the
only thing that has changed on my PC with this setup is Adobe
Contribute being installed. I use Contribute to administer two
sub-sites for two employees who use it to update the sites.
I have uninstalled Contribute from my PC, removed my
Contribute profile from the server folders, uninstalled and
reinstalled DW3, the usual trouble-shooting things and DW3 still
freezes. BTW... I also have the same problems on another PC that
    has XP Pro and DW3.
Any insight on what I am missing on this is greatly
    appreciated.

Hi - Yes, I have an old version of Contribute on here.
    Probably part of the problem.
Anyway, after some back-and-forthing with Murray and a
conversation with an Adobe tech, I got things running again. Maybe
the same strategy will work for you.... and hopefully it's a
long-term fix for us both! See thread:

    Good luck!

  • Checking in and out Help Projects

RoboHelp projects consist of more than just the .hpj file. It would be nice if RoboSource could check in and out the whole project rather than the individual files. Is this possible?

  • Win 2008  WL 10.3.3 stdout appearing in .log and .out files

Recently noticed a ballooning [ServerName].out file in the logs directory. In weblogic management console I do have it configured to redirect stdout and stderr to weblogic logging (.log file). Both the .log and .out file contain the same stdout/stderr information. I would like to eliminate the .out file if possible (since WL only rotates the .log), but cannot find where it is configured. The managed servers are NOT windows services (no -log option).
Did not find any logging parameters in JAVA_OPTIONS or paramters in the startManagedSvc.cmd file.
Is this something needing to be corrected at the application level? (log4j)

  • XPJ checked out of source control, other authors get error

    Hi all,
We have three people on my team who update help topics. We
use RH 7 and Microsoft Visual Source Safe with auto
check-in/check-out. When one of us is in the help project and one
of the other two also enters the helps project, the second person
gets an error message saying "The files in the list below could not
be checked out from version control. Exclusive access to these
files is required to execute the selected action," and our xpj file
for the project is listed. The second person closes the dialog box
and proceeds to work. We know that when the first person enters the
help project, the XPJ file is checked out, but we're worried that
this error means something is wrong. Isn't the whole point of using
source control so that multiple people can work in the same
project? We don't understand why we're getting these error
messages. Nothing seems to have gone haywire with this, except that
we are having problems with conditional build tags getting out of
sync between our systems. We don't know if our tag problem is due
to the XPJ check-out issue. Are we not supposed to be have our XPJ
file in source control? Would this cause the tag problem?
I'm going to post a separate message about the tag problem.
Thanks in advance for any help!
    Lisa

Hi Collum and Dhiren: Thank you for your assistance so far.
Update: Not all of our help projects' XPJ files get checked
out -- only this one project. Also, it appears that the problem
with our tags not sync'ing is related to the XPJ being checked out
by the first person to launch the project.
    Specifics:
We actually have three help projects, one of which we all
work in regularly (hereafter called "Project Bad"), and two others
that only one or the other us works in regularly. I noticed that
the other help project I work in does NOT check out the XPJ file
when I open it (hereafter called "Project Good."). With Project
Good, I never get a message saying that it's checking the XPJ file
back in, and the VSS never shows that the XPJ file is checked out
when one of us is in it, although VSS always shows the correct
modified date when it was last modified. This a.m., I had one of my
co-authors test Project Good with me. We both opened it, created
new conditional build tags, applied tags to text, check things in
and out and in again, and not once did either of us get a message
about the XPJ file being checked out, nor did we have any problems
with our conditional build tags. Everything updated beautifully,
and yet, the topics are checking out correctly. Also, we don't have
"allow multiple check-out" selected for Project Good.
So, now I wonder if the settings are different between the
two projects, but I looked at the Properties for both projects and
XPJ files, and I see no differences between them.
One thing that does come to mind: Regularly, one of us gets a
VSS error message when working in Project Bad. I don't usually get
it, but the others do. I didn't realize how common it was until one
of the authors just told me. The message reads: "SourceSafe has
detected that a previous operation against the 'XYZ' database was
unexpectedly terminated. To remove from the failure, please ask
your SourceSafe Administrator to run the Analyze Utility." Might
this have something to do with the problem? This message is
referencing our entire database where all three help projects
reside, though, and the problem is only with one of the help
projects, so I'm not sure this is part of the problem. I will try
running the Analyze Utility today just in case, but I tried to do
it months ago and it failed. I gave up and didn't try again.
Does anyone have any ideas about this problem based on these
latest developments? I welcome any and all input.
    Thanks,
    Lisa

  • Read and Write Files to user from Forms Server

We are developing an application that requires us to rread and write files to the user system. We are deploying using the developer/forms server and this is not happenning. The text_io package and the d2wkutil operate on the application server system, not the user system. So is there a method to read the file contents into the app and write files out to the user system across the web. Thanks.

developer6 can interact with javabeans. the javabean runs as an applet on the client machine. all you have to do is setup a javabean that read and write to your client machine.
when you test your application, work with java console open so you'll be able to debug your appliacion, if you'll receive java security execption you may need to sign this javabean. look at sun site for info regarding the usage of javakey for signing java classes and jars.

  • How to Open d00 and i00 files of Jinitiator for forms 6

Can anyone help us open these files?

Pity that there isn't an automated way to do this that just opens the multitrack file into a multitrack session.
If there was there it would have to be an option because some people may want their multichannel file in just one track of the multitrack, for instance if they are working with 5.1 surround dialogue, music and effects stems.
It's worse than that - you'd need an extensive set of options to do the things that people would actually want to be able to do. For instance, I'd be quite pleased if I could split multichannel files into stereo pairs and also a B-format (4ch) signal upon opening them. As it stands, I simply can't get anywhere near this functionality - I have to do the file splitting outside of Audition completely. Fortunately the tools are available...

  • How to analyze/view *.run and *.out files?

    Hi guys,
I used tttracer_Win7 tool to trace an exception of my addin when it was integrated to Outlook 2013. And the output file of the tool had 2 files: *.out and *.run, but I dont know how to view the files. Tried Google Search, and did not help me. The
tool also could not read that files.
Could you give me some comment, or suggest about some tool that can do that?
Here is the UI of the tool, I hope you guys used to use it.

    Hello Phuc,
I'd suggest creating a log file instead. Thus, you will be able to find the cause of the issue easily. For example, you can use log4net library.

  • Javahost .in and .out files in temp directory?

    Hi Folks,
Has anyone ever seen temp files being created by the javahost process, which are stored in the temp directory for the user that runs the javahost service (obviously running windows) ?
The temp files have this kind of naming:
    Charts_xxxxx_xxxxxxxxxx.javahost.in
    or
    Charts_xxxxx_xxxxxxxxxx.javahost.out
In our case we have clustered OBIPS servers and javahosts. both javahosts services run under the same user account, but we only see the temp files being accumulated on one of the servers (in <AccountName>\Local Settings\Temp directory)
Is there a way to turn this on/off? are these safe to delete?
Thanks in advance for any help with this.

ok, got this one resolved... i found out that these temp files are a side effect of increasing the javahost logging using the "logconfig.txt" file found in OracleBI\web\javahost\config directory.
here is the default setup (top of this file)...
    # Default global logging level.
    # This specifies which kinds of events are logged across
    # all loggers. For any given facility this global level
    # can be overriden by a facility specific level
    # Note that the ConsoleHandler also has a separate level
    # setting to limit messages printed to the console.
    .level= WARNING
    #.level= INFO
    #.level= ALL
    #.level= OFF
we can see the .level= WARNING is set
on our server, someone had set the level to ALL like this:
    # Default global logging level.
    # This specifies which kinds of events are logged across
    # all loggers. For any given facility this global level
    # can be overriden by a facility specific level
    # Note that the ConsoleHandler also has a separate level
    # setting to limit messages printed to the console.
    #.level= WARNING
    #.level= INFO
    .level= ALL
    #.level= OFF
this results in temp files left in the temp directory of whatever user runs the javahost service.

  • Can't check out files from JDEV 9.02.798

    Hi,
We are making a project prototype with JDEV (previously we use another IDE). We have put our files in CVS 1.2. We are able to log in, update and add files to CVS. Unfortunately, we are unable to find a way to check out the files. The only option to do this is via FILE>Source Control>Check out project, but we failed..cant find module name. We also try to right click the files > Source Control>...there is no check out option there. Can you guys help us? There is one option we havent done yet, that is FILE>SOURCE CONTROL>IMPORT PROJECT. What happen if we click this? will it add the project file to CVS? Will it overwrite existing project (assuming we have similar project name with previous..)...Thanks

    Hi,
The first thing I'd recommend is upgrading your JDeveloper installation. 9.0.2.798 is not a production version of JDeveloper (in fact, it's Release Candidate 2 of 9.0.2). There have been two full production releases since then.
To add files to CVS as a module, you should use the Import Project command. This will prompt you to enter a module name. After importing your module, you can check it back out (to a different directory) using the Check Out menu, and specifying the same module name you used in Import Project.
There were some specific issues with JDev 9.0.2 and module recognition in CVS - if you're still having problems, upgrading to JDeveloper 9.0.3 is definitely worthwhile to pick up the latest features and bug fixes.
    Thanks,
    Brian

  • The project file is not bound to source control, but the solution contains source control binding information for it.

This may be more of a SQL Server Management Studio question, but I couldn't find a SSMS forum...
I've got a database solution that contains several projects.  They're just to keep track of changes to stored procedures, triggers, views, etc in a few databases I maintain.  There is a problem with two of the projects though.  No matter what I do, I can't seem to get them bound to source control right.  When I open the solution, I get:
The project file is not bound to source control, but the solution contains source control binding information for it.
With two options, use solution binding and remove solution binding.  If I keep the solution binding, everything works fine.  But it's really annoying to have to deal with every time I open the solution.  If I remove the solution binding, the projects are now unbound again.  If I try to fix them (using the change source control or Add Selected Projects to Source Control options under the File->source control menu), I just end up in the same situation.  I've even tried deleting the projects and re-creating them from scratch, then re-adding them to VSS.  If I open the solution files in a text editor I can see the SCC tags in every project, but these two.  Since I can't manually add the tags, and Management Studio itself only seems to want to bind them the wrong way, I'm getting really frustrated.
Can anyone point me toward a way to bind these so they work like the rest?

However, that does not appear to be the ONLY cause of the problem.  I am a single user and only using TFS2010 and SSMS2008R2.  My issue is that I wanted a solution file for each project so that they could managed independently, and a super-solution
file that contained all projects, so that I could perform system-wide searches and cross-checks.
    I solved the problem by:
    1. Choosing the option to use solution binding, then
    2. Adding another project to the solution.  This forced the re-write of the solution file.
    3. Adding another script to the project.  This forced the re-write of the project file.
    4. Checking in all changes.
    5. Deleting the new script and the extra project,
    6 Checking in all changes.
This appears to have solved the problem.

  • Check in / Check out files option

New to the forums, new to Dreamweaver. I was recently hired
to manage a small companies web site. They use Dreamweaver MX. I
have hardly used Dreamweaver but its generally simple to catch on
to. My boss lives in another state so we communicate via emails and
phone calls. He currently manages the websites which I am taking
over. He will still poke into the site off and on and we are trying
to find a way to not overwrite each others files.
I noticed the check in and out from remote and have been
looking for more information on how it works and how to use it
along with any issues we might have. It seems pretty straight
forward but we are looking for some sort of documentation to see if
it is what we need to use. I work on the site during the day and he
works on it at night so I dont think it will be too much of an
issue but on those rare occassions we want to know what will be
    best.
If I modify a file during the day whats to say he has or gets
my current file then modifies it rather than me making changes and
uploading it then he makes changes then uploads it then finds that
a newer file exists so he would have to update the file then make
changes to it after wasting that time and effort.
Hope this makes sense, looking for information and feedback.
    Thanks!

When you check a file out for modification, it then lives
    ONLY on your local
site. Nobody else can check it out to edit until you check it
    back in.
It's primitive but it can work if you can tolerate the
    overhead of checkin
    and checkout.

  • Source control ADD grayed out

    - I need to add files to GIT, and have a repository there, but I can't commit any files, because Xcode says none of them are under source control. BUT, I can't add them to source control, because Source Control-Add is gray! How do I enable this menu item??

Creating Git repository for existing XCode projects
This problem has been puzzling me for a while...
    Scenario 1:
You started a simple project just for a quick/simple test.
XCode gives you option to "Create local git repository for this project", and for some reason you didn't/forgot to tick it...
After you spent some time on it, your simple proof-of-concept project seems to worth a lot more now and you want to add it to the source control. Ooops, how do you do that again??!! You tried every possible options under "File -> Source Control" menu but none of them works, what the....$%#@! I guess it's mainly your fault for not creating the repository at the beginning, but, but, but, wouldn't it be nice if Apple can add an option into XCode to make it easier to add existing projects to the the source control?
    Scenario 2:
There's another scenario - which happens to me quite a lot - you downloaded something from the web, you "heavily" modified it (it's mine now, mine mine mine! Ha ha ha....), and again, later wants to add it to source control and..... stuck again! Finally found a solution today, thanks to this link by Ash Furrow, I learned that you have to: (a) create an empty repository by open a terminal, go to your project directory and run the following commands:
git init git add . git commit -m "Initial commit"
    (b) after that, follow the following steps (you may compress the whole project into a ".gz" file first if you worried about loosing anything...)
Move your existing project folder to your desktop.
Make a new, empty project in Xcode with the same name as your project. Make sure the box for using a .git repo is selected.
    Close Xcode.
Copy all files from the project folder on your desktop to the new project folder Xcode created.
    Double-click the project file.
You'll now need to add all the files to the source control since (they'll all have question marks beside them, shown right).

  • Windows Explorer keeps crashing under Win 7 with RH7 and Source Control installed

This is an "informational" thread in case someone experiences the same problems. We installed RH7 on Windows 7 32-bit and accidentally, Robo Source Control was installed, too, although we do not use it. The latter loads three extensions into the shell that caused the Windows Explorer to crash on a regular basis ("Windows Explorer has stopped working"). After deinstallation of Robo Source, the problem seems to be resolved.

I would like to tell you that this problem is an issue with RH8, as well.
