Checking Network Configuration Requirements - Not Executed

DBAs,
My server runs on RHEL4. I have configured eth0 after installation of RHEL with a static IP and my server is not on network.
While installing the oracle10g R2 network configuration check is not executed. if i check the box and continue, installation is done without any error. After the installation when the server is connect to a network oracle is not accessible from a client machine.
PS: Listener is started and database is up.
please replay asap

HI,
You have to configure NETWORK configuration./
application >>>> server setting >>>> NETWORK <<enter>>
edit DYNAMIC to STATIC ip address ( give STATIC IP ADDRESS).
and restart NEWTORK services.
or edit /etc/hosts file
add ip address or computer nameregards

    I'm trying to install Oracle 10g 2 on a Red Hat 4 server with a static IP.

    Hi!
    Either your machine is setup to use DHCP after all or the installer just has trouble to find the correct information.
    Recheck the network settings of your machine (redhat-config-network).
    Just ignore the warning and continue.

  • Error during Checking Network Configurations Requirements in RHEL3 VM

    Hi,
    I have a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Image Virtual Machine on my desktop which uses Fedora Linux. I have set this up using VMplayer.
    I need to install Oracle 10g on the RHEL VM.
    As the RHEL VM does not have X Windows, I am connecting to it from the Fedora Linux to do the installation.
    During the Product-specific Prerequisite checks:
    Checking Network Configurations Requirements throws an error,
    Please find it below:
    Actual Result: Unknown Host Exception has Occured :rhel3vm:rhel3vm
    Check complete: The overall result of this check is: Not executed <<<<
    Recommendations: Oracle supports installations on systems with DHCP-assigned public IP addresses. However, the primary network interface on the system should be configured with a static IP address in order for the Oracle software to function properly.
    The Fedora Linux gets the IP address from the DHCP and allocates an IP address to the VM.
    However, when we set both of them as static and the problem still persists, and also when we set the fedora as dynamic and RHEL VM as static, the issue is not resolved.
    Any help will be truely appreciated. Thank you.

    We were running a non-DHCP (static IP) configuration and ran into this issue. We discovered that the hostname and FQDN were not correctly specified in the /etc/hosts file.
    Fixing the hosts file to correctly reference the IP resolved the issue.
    Hope this helps...

    Your solution is

    That book is at http://tahiti.oracle.com and the steps you need are in Chapter 2 of the Installation Guide for Linux.

  • Network configuration requirements 10g

    hi every body
    i am trying to install oracle 10 g db using Vmware on Centos 5.
    i have performed all the steps as described in installation guides but when OUI is checking pre reqs it is giving this error
    "checking network configuration requirements" and then "not executed"
    can somebody please specify these requirements ???
    in case i want to move forward it says that you can expect some problems during installation ???
    thnx in advance .
    Regards

    do you have a network setup ? Can you ping other servers from the VM ?
    You can run a database without a network. The listener configuration may fail, but you can easily re-run it later. You could just do the install, and see if anything else fails. If it does, the error may give more information.
    Or you can turn off the check using
    runInstaller -ignoreSysPrereqs

    Are you installing Oracle 10G R2? If this is the case then for DHCP network environments, you need to create a Microsoft loop back adapter.
    Microsoft Loopback Adapter creation:
    ===========================
    Step 1: Programs -> control panel -> Add Hardware.
    Step 2: In the Add Hardware wizard. Click 'Next' and select 'Yes, I have already connected the hardware'. option and click on 'Next'.
    Step 3: Select the last option 'Add a new hardware device' from the 'Installed hardware' window and click on 'Next'.
    Step 4: Select the last option 'Install hardware that I manually select from the list (Advanced) and click on 'Next'.
    Step 5: Select 'Network adapters' in 'Common hardware types' list and click on 'Next'.
    Step 6: Where you can see 'Microsoft loopback adapter' on the right hand side of the frame.
    Step 7: proceed with all default installation and then try installing Oracle.
    I hope this will suffice.
    Thanks

  • Project check in is required Not Working

    For all stages in my workflow the "<label for="ctl00_ctl00_PlaceHolderMain_PWA_PlaceHolderMain_idFormCheckinReqd_ctl02_CheckinRequired">Project check in is required</label>" check box is checked, but when users submit their
    project in PWA the Workflow kicks off approvals associated with the next stage even though the project is not checked in.  What is this check box supposed to be doing?

    I am having same issue, I have tried uninstalling and installing at about five times but still same result, what's going on with ISO6?

  • New /etc/conf.d/network network configuration does not work.

    I did some work to upgrade my system configuration according to
    this wiki article: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Rc.conf
    But when i move the network configuration from rc.conf to
    conf.d/network, my network is left unconfiguered after boot.
    My /etc/conf.d/network looks like this:
    interface=eth0
    address=172.20.247.67
    netmask=255.255.254.0
    broadcast=172.20.247.255
    gateway=172.20.246.1
    Possibly related, /etc/resolv.conf is replaced after boot with this content:
    # Generated by dhcpcd
    # /etc/resolv.conf.head can replace this line
    # /etc/resolv.conf.tail can replace this line
    and therefore, my nameserver configuration is gone. This also happens,
    when i leave the network configuration to rc.conf. It happens, since i
    fiddled with rc.conf, but i don't no why.
    I have not yet switched to systemd because of these problems.

    Read up here on how to set up your static IP.  https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Dh … IP_address    Dhcpcd doesn't use your /etc/conf.d/network by default

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure Scheduled Configuration Archive not executing

    We have a deployment of Cisco Prime Infrastrcuture 1.3 (1.3.0.20).
    Configuration Archive is a feature that collects and archives the device configurations i.e. cisco switches.
    You have an option to schedule this to run, say daily, weekly etc. Once scheduled you can see it in the "Jobs Dashboard" and with the "next start time" of what you configured. I have a situation whereby  the time it is suppose to start - it doesnt - howevere flags the job as a "success". Not newe device configurations are archived and the "next start time" remain the same. Its almost like it is failing to execute, but some other process under the hood thinks that it was been executed correctly?
    Any ideas or experience that could help here would be appreciated!

    Some extra info that has just come to my attention.  At one point we were running (we're actually still running) CiscoWorks with LMS3.2 and Cisco NCS 1.x.  I merged these two things together into Cisco Prime Infrastructure (upgraded the licensing to get 450 lifecycle licenses to cover the APs + all of the devices coming from LMS3.2).  I followed all of the documented procedures to upgrade the NCS appliance to Prime Infrastructure.  But when I type "show application" from the CLI of the NCS appliance (now the Prime Infrastructure appliance) I see this:
    HQ-NCS1/admin# show application
    NCS             Cisco Prime Network Control System
    Is that normal?  Maybe this is my problem.  Should this output list "Cisco Prime Infrastructure" instead of (or in addtion to) Cisco Prime Network Control System?  When I login to the GUI it shows "Cisco Prime Infrastructure" and the GUI has changed considerably (menus are different) so I'm assuming that the application upgrades I launched from the CLI to go to Prime Infrastructure worked fine.

  • Oracle 11g - Network Configuration check

    Hi All,
    This is my first time here and I am a newbie to Linux and Oracle installation.
    I just finished installing Linux Enterprise version 5 ( provided by Oracle corp).
    At the time of installation I did not do any type of network configuration and let the default network connection take effect.
    After installing all the pre requirements for the Oracle 11g installation on my laptop I was stopped with a warning on the Oracle univesal Installer - product specific Prerequisite check.
    This is what it gave me---
    Checking Network Configuration requirements..
    Check complete. The overall results of this check is : Not executed <<<
    Recomendation : Oracle supports installation on systems with DHCP-assigned public IP addresses. However the primary network interface on the system should be configured with a Static IP Address in order for the oracle to function properly.See the installation guide for more details on installing the software on systems configured with DHCP.
    I checked with the manuals and do not find any information about how to fix it.
    The info given in the manual is
    Installing on DHCP Computers
    Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) assigns dynamic IP addresses on a network. Dynamic addressing enables a computer to have a different IP address each time it connects to the network. In some cases, the IP address can change while the computer is still connected. You can have a mixture of static and dynamic IP addressing in a DHCP system.
    In a DHCP setup, the software tracks IP addresses, which simplifies network administration. This lets you add a new computer to the network without having to manually assign that computer a unique IP address.
    Now i made some changes to the Network Config as root user and my Network configuration file looks like ( ie. /etc/hosts)
    127.0.0.1 localhost StaticIP
    It was previously something like
    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost.
    As per the installation documents where ever i had references to localhost, i had left the localhost with the same name ' localhost' and have not changed it. Now it has StaticIP and I am not sure how to proceed.
    What must I do?
    I want to fix this error and also want oracle to work.
    Thanks for your help!!

    Thanks a lot guys to respond to this. I am using OEL5 ( supplied by Oracle Corp) and Oracle 11g. Installation of Linux takes about 40 minutes and installation of Oracle takes about an hour to 2 hours. Not sure why some RPM's do not show up on the CD's provided by Oracle.
    So I tried to reinstall Linux . But the whole problem is, the Network Screens ( during installation) do not show up at all. It just skips that portion and goes to the Screen where there is the world Map and tells you to set up the time and date. I tried installing Linux many times and those Network configuration screens do not show up at all.
    Here is my dilemma. After installing Oracle 11g, and immediately accessing the site https://localhost.localdomain:1158/em takes me into the OEM.
    But after I shut down my machine and boot up again, I am unable to use the OEM's site https://localhost.localdomain:1158/em. Instead I get the message
    ===============================
    Unable to Connect
    Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost.localdomain:1158
    1. The site could be temporaily unavailable
    2. If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection
    3. If your computer is protected by firewall or proxy, make sure that firefox is permitted to access the Web.
    ===================================
    I am thinking the problem is with 2. I do not have any firewall in my machine and i have also disbaled SELINUX.
    I want to configure the computer so i can use the OEM in my Linux laptop.
    My $ cat /etc/hosts gives
    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain.
    Please help me setup the Network so i can connect to 11g OEM.
    And BTW this laptop is not even used to connect to the Internet.
    Thanks
    Sulu
