Checking "Remember Me" Doesn't Work

Whenever me or one of the clients signs in to edit a page we check "Remember Me" and yet it NEVER does, not even once. Have to sign in EVERY time, it doesn't even remember the last user name entered.
Not sure if this is related to the issue I had with the "File Not Found or Does Not Exist", but it was explained to me that the session would not time out for 24 hours and even longer if you tick "Remember me". It seems to me that the session did time out & I wonder if these two phenomenon aren't somehow related.

Using FireFox 3.0.8
Tested on IE7, same result.. have to login again.
The same thing happens on this forum for that matter.. click the login on here & then after I logout or close the Forum Tab (either way), when I return, I have to sign in again.
The InContext Editing does the exact same thing. Doesn't matter if I leave another FireFox window (or tab) open or if I close the entire application and restart.
Every other website I visit (both browsers) when I select "Remember Me" , I have no issues. It remembers login sessions from weeks ago.

Inspector > Text > More > Language
Only applies to selected text, like making it a particular font.
It is not a setting that sticks. If you continue to paste in text from elsewhere particularly the Internet it will have a different or None language set to it. You need to select it and make it B.E.

Check In/Out doesn't work on network drive?

My company has used DW's check in/check out functionalities just fine for years, but before now the local copies of a site's files had been stored on each user's Mac's harddrive. I've been working on relocating those local copies to a single network drive that everyone can access so we're all working from the same local copies; most everything's going great except it looks like the check in/out functions are no longer working. It looks like the only indication I can see now in the FTP view is a green check on the remote files pane when something's checked out– the local copies don't show lock or check icons any longer.
Given that the only change has been moving the local files over to the network drive, I have to assume DW's check in/out (or at least however I have settings set now) doesn't play nice when the local files live on a network drive. Has anyone run into this issue, and is there a fix for it?

Yep, a new site definition's been set up and I've double-checked that the "local files" setting is pointing to the shared network server as the new local folder.

At first I didn't think that link had anything that I didn't already know, and then saw these two bullets:
• The local root folder for this defined site must be on the local hard drive of a workstation.
• Your local root folder should not be shared or on a mounted drive.
So in short, I suppose those answer my question, but they don't actually say *why* that is– it's hard to believe that the checking feature is limited to a literal local drive, and not a network drive. Seems odd. I'm going to poke around some more and try and figure out why that is, but I'd be grateful if anyone happens to know why in the meantime...

"Automatically checking email" preference doesn't work?

I'm in the midst of switching ISPs. Right now I have 2 ISPs with 2 different connections (one dial-up, one DSL). The dial-up ISP, as expected, cannot connect to the mail server over the DSL connection, so under Mail Preferences I've unchecked "Include when automatically checking for new email" on that account.
However, Mail continues to try to connect to the dial-up's mail server whenever launched or whenever I check for new email. Since it can never connect it hangs for several minutes attempting to complete this connection before coming up with an error message.
How do I get this preference to work properly? I need to have both email accounts available for the next month or two while making sure all contacts are using the new email address, so I can't simply disable the old email account under preferences, as then it no longer shows up at all. What I need is to have the account enabled, but only to check for new email when given instructions manually to do so.

This doesn't answer the question regarding the problem with automatically checking for new mail but connecting to the dial-up ISP should not be required to check the dial-up account's incoming mail server for new mail. This can be done when connected to the internet with the DSL connection.
I still have an Earthlink dial-up account for use when traveling if a high speed wired or wireless connection isn't available but I primarily use a high speed cable modem internet access when at Home. I access my Earthlink dial-up account with the Mail.app when connected at Home without any problems and without being prompted to access Earthlink via a dial-up connection when the account is checked for new mail.
You can turn off automatically connect when needed under the PPP options for your internal modem network configuration or disable to internal modem as an access point via System Preferences > Network if you are using the DSL connection only and you can include the dial-up account to automatically check for new mail.

InDesign CC spell check "ignore all" doesn't work

Is anyone having problems with "Ignore All" not working in spell check? I am repeatedly being prompted to check the same word or abbreviation again and again.
Just to be sure it wasn't a result of hidden characters or other variables, I have copied several text frames and spell check prompts for the same terms in both text frames even after clicking "ignore all" for each word the first time through.

I too started having this problem just this week.
I use ID to create user's manuals in which a product model number will show up at least 5 times per document. The "Ignore All" button in spell check has always ignored all instances of a product model number until now. I've noticed that "Ignore All" does not work on any repeated words in any of my documents. I'm not sure what has changed that caused "Ignore All" to stop working.

Spell checker for KWrite doesn't work [SOLVED]

How do I enable spell checking for the KDE editors, i.e. KWrite, Kate, etc? I've installed aspell via pacman, it's in /usr/bin which is in my PATH. In KWrite's Settings>Configure Editor>Plugins, there is an option "KTextEditor KDataTool Plugin: Enable data tools like thesaurus and spell check (if installed)" which I've checked. In another distro, that's how I enabled spell checking with aspell, i.e. by checking this box for the spell check plugin. But in Arch this doesn't seem to be sufficient. When I try to spell check a document in KWrite, I get this error:
"The spelling program could not be started. Please make sure you have set the correct spelling program and that it is properly configured and in your PATH."
What else do I need to do?

EDIT: Sorry, searching this forum for "spellcheck" hadn't yielded any solution but after I posted this I also searched for "spell AND check" and found the solution: I had neglected to pick Aspell as the client for spell checking in Control Center>KDE Components>Spell Checker.

Add-ons - Check for updates doesn't work

In FF5 i found that the "Check for Updates" and "Update Add-ons Automatically" does not work for plugins. I notice in FF6 that a link has appeared "Check to see if your plugins are up to date".
However i've now discovered that in FF6, "Check for Updates", "Find Updates" (from the right-click menu of a particular add-on) and "Update Add-ons Automatically" did not work for extensions either.

My question is - is Check for Updates / Update Add-ons automatically intended to work for either plugins or extensions. If so, has the bug been reported, if not, why is it there?

That is because the creator hasn't uploaded that new version yet to the Add-ons site and if he has done that then the extension still needs to be approved before updating will work. 
Such unapproved extension usually appear first on the versions page (e.g. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/speed-dial/versions/) waiting for review, but that hasn't happened yet if this case.
Plugins always need to be updated manually by visiting the website or via an alert from the plugin (Java and Shockwave do that)

Firefox 8 and the "Warn when closing...multiple tabs" preference check box still doesn't work?

I'm aware that I can go into the about:config screen and toggle a couple of settings but the real question is "Why is this still a problem since version 4?" Why bother to have Preferences at all, if the given solution is always to tweak the config?

This hint was posted on a similar link that works for me. Here is what to do:
In option -> privacy -> choose "use custom history setting" and choose your preference for history and cookie setting. and then click "OK'.
Then you will get the warning when closing multiple tabs.
It doesn't seem to be related but it does affect the operation of the other part of the software that issues the warning.

Outlook 2010: checking icloud-mails doesn't work

hej!
i'm working on three different windows 7-pcs using outlook 2010. it's no problem to check mails from several mailaccounts (eg outlook.com). since one or two weeks i have problems with my icloud-mails.
there is NO problem with calenders or contacts ... outlook 2010 & icloud are collaborating fantastic.
but: it's not possible to check mails any longer! :-( it's frustrating.
i tried several methods to configure outlook 2010 (manually; via icloud-software) again but i always got the message that my icloud-mailbox is unavailable.
note that i have no problems to access my mails using a browser (eg firefox or internet explorer) or one of my idevices.
and another note: i tried to check mails using mozilla thunderbird, too. but: same error! no possibility to check icloud-mails. :-( it seems that the server cannot be reached from my pcs.
is there anybody out there who can help me?

p.s. i already tried to create a new user on my pc and to configure a new mail account ... without success :-(.

I am new to the Apple iCloud setup, but from what I understand, let the iCloud control panel configure everything.
Close the @me.com account in out look, close outlook, and then go to the iCloud control panel and configure outlook with iCloud.
That works for me.
You will get the pasword thing a couple of times, but if you save the password, it should work.

Can I update plugin on dial-up - check & update page doesn't work

I am on DIAL UP as I live in remote area. Got message that Flash plugin was disabled because it is out of date. Tried to update and told plugins BLOCKED FOR MY SAFETY, then told to go to "Plugin Check & Update" page. The "Checking Mozilla on Status of Your Plugins" circle/hourglass has been going round for almost 2 hours - nothing happening. Last time I had to pay computer guy $50 to update stuff. I can't afford this every other month. Any suggestions?

Thanks. I ended up taking my PC to my daughter's - she's on high speed - and I downloaded the updated versions of everything I needed. My Dial-up is too slow (26.4 kbps YIKES!) to do that... bummer. So guess I'll just have to bring my PC to town periodically to do updates.

Continuous inventory based on zero stock check doesn't work

The contiunous inventory based on zero stock check doesn't work.
The problem is that I ticked both signs in the customizing for zero
stock check and it doesn't work. The box for zero stock check
appears, but if you check afterwards the inventory with LX25 nothing
is done.
Could the problem be that I my inventory method is PZ - continuous
inventory?

to book any goods movement on it because it is locked.

How can you turn off the spell checker in Firefox? (The menu option doesn't work.)

There was a solution to this I came across a long time ago, but I don't remember what it was. I want to turn off my spell checker in Firefox. The usual instructions given for doing this are to go into Options->Advanced and de-select "Check my spelling as I type". This doesn't work. Period. And this is a bug that has been around for a long time in Firefox.
What's a way to disable this? I don't like seeing a bunch of red lines under correctly spelled words that just happen to not be in Firefox's default dictionary, and I don't want to have to add things to my dictionary either.

Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

Sound Check doesn't work

I just switched from Mini to Nano and now when I playback songs the volume is all over the board. One song is on 5 one is on 10 and back and forth... I have tried several times to check and re-check the Sound Check feature. Am I doing someting wrong? If the song volume was close to each other it would be fine but it is WAY OFF. Thanks for the help.

You need to check that option at iTunes as well. Did you remember to do that?
If it doesn't work, try send Apple feedback about your iPod. Be polite and clear and if this is a general problem they will correct it on the next software updater.

Sorry you are having problems. First of all try Fifrefox's safemode.

Next step, if safe mode did not work.
First: Try a clean install, (you have had a none standard version installed previously) that involves deleting the program files. Then if necessary try troubleshooting by creating and using a clean empty Firefox profile.
