Checkpoint vpn

has anyone been able to connect their touchpad to a checkpoint VPN tunnel? I tried the HP VPN plugin but no luck on any of the settings.
Post relates to: HP TouchPad (WiFi)

Do you know what protocol CheckPoint VPN uses? The reason I ask is that there are lots of VPN protocols and the TouchPad does not support all of them. Out of the box, TouchPad supports IPSec and SSL (usually used in Cisco 5000 and 6000 series concentrators). The HP Pluging adds PPTP support to the mix. If CheckPoint doesn't use one of those protocols, then it probably isn't going to work.

  • Checkpoint VPN-1 SecureClient for OS X 10.5 (leopard) - won't install

I'm trying to install the 03/2008 release of CheckPoint VPN-1 SecureClient for 10.5 (I have 10.5.5). The install fires up, works just fine, and says it was successful, and asks for a reboot. The reboot works, but the application is not installed: nothing in the Applications (it is supposed to be under Applications/Check Point).
There were many problems with the early-access versions of this product (it caused my system to completely hang on boot-up), but I have a couple of co-workers that are successfully using the 03/2008 released version.
    Anyone else have this problem?

I FIXED THIS successfully on three staff members' Mac Book Pro computers after many many headaches.
Before you do anything, run the 10.5.6 update, and any security updates that there are.
    1. Uninstall Secure Client (If you have it on your machine) using the uninstaller. If it cannot be uninstalled using the uninstaller, delete the "Check Point VPN-1 SecureClient" directory in the Applications folder. Also delete the "SecureClient" shortcut in the Applications folder. VERY IMPORTANT: Also delete the "opt" folder in the root of your OS Drive. EMPTY THE TRASH.
    2. Restart in Safe Boot by holding the "shift" key until you see the spinning pinweel below the Apple on the gray boot screen.
    3. Follow the instructions posted by Electric Cat:
    "+1. Open the terminal+
+2. Navigate to the directory containing the SecureClient installation package with the cd and ls commands+
+3. Type cd followed with the full name of the unzipped package and hit Return. For the orignal package, the command will be cd SecureClientB6340000311.pkg.+
+The Mac will enter the package just as to the directory (this IS a directory, actually)+
    +4. Type cd Contents/Resources+
+5. Type sudo ./postinstall, keeping all periods and slashes. The Mac will ask you for the root password. Enter it+
+6. The installation will succeed in the console mode."+
    4. Restart in Safe boot.
    5. Delete the "Check Point VPN-1 SecureClient" directory in the Applications folder. Also delete the "SecureClient" shortcut in the Applications folder. VERY IMPORTANT: Also delete the "opt" folder in the root of your OS Drive. EMPTY THE TRASH.
    6. Navigate to "Library/Receipts" and delete any Secure Client Packages that are there and empty the trash. THIS IS CRITICAL.
    7. Restart in Safe Boot.
    8. Run the "SecureClientB6340000311.pkg" file.
    9. Reboot in regular mode - MAKE SURE YOU'RE UNPLUGGED FROM ANY NETWORK.
    10. Do not connect to AirPort. If AirPort is set to automatically connect, turn it off and reboot.
    11. Upon reboot, Secure Client should appear in the top menu bar. If it doesn't appear, check to see if it installed into the Applications folder. If it didn't install repeat entire process. (One thing I've found about Secure Client, is that there is no rhyme or reason to its bugs).
    12. Connect to airport.
    13. Configure Secure Client.
    Praise Allah.

    What does this mean?
When I setup the connection and add my certificate, It connects to the server, then I need to supply a password. I get a result back from the server.
But when it's trying to establish a VPN it gives this error.

    Hi,
According to your description, let us know your version of Checkpoint VPN.
Meanwhile, considering that the issue should be related to Checkpoint VPN ,and it is a third-party software, I suggest you contact Checkpoint VPN support for help.

  • Cisco NAC and Checkpoint VPN

    Hi,
Wondering if anyone has ever come across a scenario where they've integrated Cisco NAC with a Checkpoint VPN solution (using Power1 5075)?
Any ideas or collateral would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Mark,
If the checkpoint device can do standard radius accounting, it can work with CCA. When doing VPN SSO with CCA, it only cares about the accounting packets from the VPN head-end.

  • Checkpoint VPN-1 on OS 10.3 Panther

In order for me to use VPN to access our corporate server, I've only been given the option to use Checkpoint's VPN-1 client. Since it breaks in Tiger, I've got a Panther partition set up specifically for the purpose of connecting from home. I am able to connect with the VPN client, but the OS shows no signs of a connection via the Finder. Is a) anyone familiar with this software and b) is there someplace I should be checking other than the finder for this connection. FYI - the Checkpoint GUI shows connectivity, but offers no options for desktop display/mounting, etc, which is what I need to get to the files I'm working on.

At long last, IT got back to me, and I wish I'd received your post first as it would have alleviated some confusion a bit earlier and made me not feel as ignorant as I did...
I was at least expecting being able to browse the network via finder, which I obviously could not. This made me think I had configured something incorrectly or missed a step. It was explained to me that my localhost file needed to be modified to browse for my servers by name. This, of course, has been remedied. I now have all my IPs saved for browsing, VNC, etc, and my localhost file has been modified.
I appreciate the attempt to clarify my conundrum.

    Regards,

In checkpoint VPN community, default setting for phase 1 is 86400 seconds so you're good there.  Phase II default is 28,800 so  you need to edit the parameter and change it to 3600.  the rest is the same as cisco with the exception of the lifetime in kilobytes which CP does not have

  • 10.5.7 breaks CheckPoint SecureClient VPN

After upgrading to 10.5.7, my CheckPoint VPN client stopped working. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the VPN client, however, re-installation does not work either.
Has anyone had a similar experience or a solution?

I have a related but different issue.
I recently installed Checkpoint client latest version, and can connect to the remote network etc.
But nothing can connect to my mac from my local LAN, behind my firewall/router, even when SecureClient is not running. Doesn't respond to ping, can't ssh in from my laptop, etc.
nmap says the Mac Pro is invisible.
Little Snitch is installed but not active - besides, this is a problem incoming, not outgoing.
    The Mac firewall is off.
I tried unloading the checkpoint kexts but they refuse.
Uninstalling makes things return to normal - connections happen fine with no other change.
So my question is -- is this expected behavior?

  • VPN not working after 10.6.8 update

I am using checkpoint VPN-1 version SecureClient_B634006015_1 for Snow Leopard. After updating to 10.6.8 my network connection outside my local LAN is not accessible. Can't ssh, ping any outside resource. If I turn off secure client then no problems. This worked right up until I updated to 10.6.8. Anyone have any suggestions or similiar situations?
    TIA,
    Steve

Does anyone know why the Mac Cisco VPN client doesn't prompt for a user ID or Password?
I've been using the Cisco VPN client for over a year, but it looks like the 10.6.8 update broke it.  I've heard that the Apple Cisco client works, but not for me.
When I try to connect the Authenticate dialog  box comes up, but there is no where to  enter my user ID or password like I've seen on dialog snapshots on the web.  All I can do is click on OK or Cancel.  At this point the connection spins for a while and then times out.
I've tried entering both my user ID and password in the Network VPN setup dialog, just my user ID and neither my user ID or password.  Same results every time.  The samples on the web show a  prompt for both user ID and password.
I'm sure my user ID and password are correct because I've copied them from a Linux vpnc configuration that  is working on a virtual machine on my Mac.  I have navigated to the Cisco client file in /private/etc and used one of the web sites to decrypt the group password stored there.  It's the same one I entered in the Network VPN dialog box, but to be absolutely sure I copied the decrypted group password to the Network VPN setup.  Same results.

  • How to disconnect ASA 5505 site-to-site VPN via SSL?

    Hi all,
sorry, bit of a newbie so this may be trivial.
We have an ASA 5505 which has two IPSEC site-to-site VPN tunnels. One to another ASA works just fine but the other to a Checkpoint VPN locks up occasionally. I've given up on sorting the actual problem and for now we're logging it out via ASDM where it reconnects and all is fine again.
What I'd like to do is automate this logout using the SSH interface if we detect an issue with the connection. Can anyone point me in the general direction of documentation to do this please?

I would stick with site-to-site vpn instead of Easy VPN NEM (Network Extension Mode) for your setup.
Can you pls share the full config on both HQ and New Facility so we can see if everything has been included in the configuration.
Pls check your NAT statement to see if you have configure NAT exemption for that VoIP network.
HQ should also have crypto ACL that include the VoIP network.
What is the gateway currently configured on your PBX? and what device is that? how is the routing on that device that is set as your PBX default gateway? If you can share a topology diagram that would help too.

  • WRVS4400N 1.00.13 VPN issues

I upgraded from 1.00.12 to the latest 1.00.13 and as soon as I did that, my Checkpoint VPN clients on my network can no longer connect to my office.  If I go through my neighbors AP I can verify that my clients are working fine.
I reset the unit to factory defaults, made sure the vpn passthrough is enabled and still nothing.  Wireless or wired, vpn passthrough is not functioning.
Linksys tech not very helpful so far and I even requested the 1.00.12 firmware which they can not seem to provide to me.  Any thoughts out there or better yet, anyone with the .img file for .12 firmware they can pack up and email to me?

Update.  Moved back to version 1.00.12 and vpn pass through is working.  If you have one of these units, stick to .12 version as .13 has several bugs in it and several working features will stop working.

  • Interesting phenomenon -- cellphone iChatAV! -- and a question about VPN...

Maybe a month or so, when I first bought my iSight, I was quite pleased to find that it worked "right out of the box" with my 2001 Quicksilver G4/867 and ActionTec GT701WG DSL modem. I successfully connected to the test sites, to ralphjohnsr, nqmacuser, and rjinwi. Then I got one for work. Oddly enough, I could connect to all the aforementioned sites from work, but could never connect to/from work from/to home (a 2002 Quicksilver G4/800).
Then came the 10.4.7 ppc combo update. All was ok on the home front, but work was a disaster. Couldn't connect to anyone, no test sites, no nuthin'.
After battling the issue since updating in vain, today, for grins and chuckles, I disconnected my work computer from its wired ethernet connection, plugged in my cell phone to a USB port (I've got a 1XRTT cellphone modem script for my Mot T730C) and made a AVchat over PPP dial up via 1XRTT to home! I was really quite surprised that it even worked because dslreports/stest reported my cellphone uplink at a big whoppin' 39kbps max -- usually less -- but it worked multiple times. Kinda absolved my home and work computers and my home DSL modem (and all the current computer and DSL modem firewall port settings) of any guilt....
That leaves work's firewall as the likely culprit. Work's firewall is pretty tight, we need to use VPN to get in from the outside, and so I'm now thinking that something in the SIP or AV port handover is not playing nice with work's firewall, especially since 10.4.7 since I can't connect to anything at all anymore from work. Problem is, it doesn't seem to want to play nice with VPN, either, whether initiating the call from the outside or the inside, after outside has established a VPN tunnel.
As an aside, I did some tcpdumps on all of ichat's ports on both ends of the (cellphone) circuit today along with an errorLogLevel7 -- I plan to consolidate all that into a chronologically arranged excel spreadsheet, since the AV connection was successful, then do the tcpdump game on a failed work ethernet connection to see if a comparison of port logs plus ichat log leads to any clues. (Ralph, if interested when I complete the "successsful call" spreadsheet, you are more than welcome to have a copy to perhaps post on your excellent website -- it would be way too big to post here -- if interested, lemme know.)
Anyways, getting back on track, I'm thinking that work's firewall is my problem, but it seems to me that I should be able to iChatAV over VPN -- I can iChatAV between computers that are both inside work's firewall. So I'm wondering, anybody out there have any experience with using iChatAV through a VPN? I'm using VPN Tracker on my home Mac. Work's VPN gateway requires Checkpoint VPN-1 certificates at both ends.

    HI J.v.,
The most likely problem is that your company may be using their internet connection for their phone service as well.
This would also use SIP on port 5060 as ichat does.
Even if they do not use the phones/internet in this way the ISP might offer it and be blocking port to get people to pay for the service.
