Checksum error downloading 10.4.3 combo

I have downloaded the 10.4.3 combo update 4 times on two different computers and get a checksum error every time. Downloads of Xcode, which is a far larger file, have been error free. I have a fiber optic DSL line on Verizon.
I tried using the 10.4.3 update without verifying it, but the installation fails.
Thanks for any help.

You did not mention how you are downloading the update: by browser, what browser, etc.
If you are using a browser to download the update, try a different browser. Also try downloading the update through Software Update instead of using a browser (or vice-versa.)

  • "invalid checksum" error downloading Photoshop 5.1

How do I solve this issue? Have tried downloading Photoshop 5.1 numerous times and keep getting an invalid checksum error when it completes and wont launch ... Also at this point the extracting bar on the download manager just freezes.

And more specifically? Operating system? Browser? System specs? Could be an issue with temporary disk space required for the extraction, could be that some security tool is interferring, could be that your network connection produces errors... Impossible to even guess without more info.

  • Checksum Error after downloading

Hi, I purchased as a bundle both Adobe Elements 10 and Photoshop Elements together at the half price special. Adobe Elements 10 installed just fine with serial number provided for me...however
Photoshop Elements downloads and upon completion a pop-up window states that "unable to verify, checksum error" and only thing I can do then is to cancel the whole thing. I've tried both download procedures with the same result, failure to get my Photoshop Elements installed due to checksum error...any suggestions?
    thanks

All you can do is try downloading again from the Adobe Web site.  Use IE, if you're using a different browser.

  • Flex SDK Download - checksum error

    Hello,
I downloaded the Flex SDK from
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flex/downloads/
When I unzip it (with WinRAR), I get a checksum error.
    Any advice?
    Thanks.

Thanks!   I noticed the whole site was down for a bit and is now back up.    Just wanted to be clear that this was not my initial problem - it was just the flex sdk 3.1  - which is still not available, at least for me.

  • Downloaded dmg checksum errors

I am getting dmg checksum errors on disk images (dmg files) downloaded over the internet. This occurs on one machine; other machines using the same local ethernet network and common interface (braodband connection) do not have the problem. All hardware errors have been eliminated; the problem is isolated to a specific OS copy. Permissions have been repaired and kernel caches cleared. Can anyone tell me where to look in the system for a possible cause? Is this a kernel problem? If so I can simply replace the kernel.

    Dual G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

First I made sure the boot disk was OK, as well as running a memory check. Then I booted the system from a backup drive that contained an identical OS. The problem didn't show up running under the backup drive. I had previously determined that the problem was very "low level" (possibly in the kernel) because it was present even when dmg files were downloaded using "curl". Something was wrong with network binary downloads.
This all pointed to a kernel issue, so I simply copied the kernel and symbol table from the backup OS into the boot disk root. After reboot, the problem disappeared.
I can only assume that the original kernel got corrupted because of a kernel crash caused in my case by bad blocks on an external firewire drive.

  • Unable to install 10.7.3, checksum error/corrupt file

I am having problems installing 10.7.3, I tried both the combo and software download methods and both result in similar error messages about checksum errors / corrupt file. I have cleared out any previous updates from my update folder, restarted router, restarted imac, tried download several times between last night and today but no getting past the error messages. The software update method tells me the file is corrupt during the restart installation, the combo download displays the error about checksum when I attempt to open it. Also tried from disk utility and get the same message.
Any advice on how to proceed? I currently have 10.7.2 installed, have no problems downloading other files (downloaded some video from itunes & applications recently although not as large as the 1.3G file that 10.7.3 is). My ISP has a download cap so every attempt reduces my retry.

Spoke too late, at the end of the install the summary window reads:
    The installation failed
The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.
Back to square one again. Still on 10.7.2.
First time in my apple owning period I have encountered problems such as this, its all worked up until now!

  • Copy files between pcs - checksum error

    Scenario:
    - Two PCs (A and B) in a small LAN.
    - Computer A runs a NFS and a FTP server. I can transfer file from A to B mounting the nfs exported directories or downloading them via FTP.
    - The files can reside in ext3 or xfs partitions, on different drives, in A and they are being copied to B in ext3 or xfs partitions, again on different drives.
    - Drives and filesystems are healthy (knock on wood).
I download a given file along with its checksum file (md5 or sfv format), from internet on A: the checksum check using cfv (tried even md5sum) says it's allright.
Then I copy the file on B (via FTP or NFS - it doesn't matter), check it again and I have an error ("bad crc"). Sometimes for the file I download, there's a torrent: if I use the torrent file and check the integrity of the downloaded file (with ktorrent or gtorrentviewer), I find that there's a missing piece.
The above happens random, not always and not with all files.
A really strange thing is that, if I mount A's exported directory in B and if I run the checksum check from B, I also get an error (as said above, if I check the file directly on A, it's good).
I can't remember when this started - in your opinion, where should I look for solving this?

I dont really understand the torrent part of the story.
Sorry - I wasn't that much clear and my english doesn't help
A torrent file can be used for an integrity check of the file: not only it reports if the checksum is right or wrong, but - in this latter case - it can tell you that there are missing pieces in the file and how many.
Hmm and it sounds like pc B isnt that healthy
I checked for filesystem sanity in both PCs, and I also run the Seagate diagnostic tool on both of them. The chance that 4 hard disk are failing at the same time in the same PC is negligible. Anyway, I'm open to suggestions here - maybe it's an hardware issue, but I don't think it's related to the hard disks.
what if you try it with an usb stick ??
I'll try copying files to an external drive and to another PC - thanks for the idea
try to check the size of the file you copy if there are both equal.
They aren't - otherwise I won't get that checksum error. The difference is usually small, though - only a few kbytes: it seems to me that the copy process doesn't end properly.

  • Solaris 10 express developer ed. dvd checksum error

    Hi,
I downloaded the solaris 10 express developer ed. dvd. I used Sun Download manager for the download. the file e had checksum error. Hence the DVD contains checksum error. Is there any way we could correct the download without the need re-download the entire file. Other files ending a,b,c,e dont have this problem. Am i the only one getting this problem or is it a known issue?
    with regards,

Sorry there is no real way to solve this other than downloading the last segment of the file.

  • Cannot Create Cofiles, Checksum Error

    Hi All,
We are facing very strange problem while applying patch in Qlt system in one of our landscape. We have been strugling on this for last 7 days. Even Opened OSS message last 4 days back, but still we are working along with SAP and applied the suggestion given by SAP. But not able to apply this patch.
We are trying to apply the patch SAPKH47028. (OS is windows)
When it comes to disassemble phase it gives the following error.

We have carriedout the following activities in system, but no result so far.
    01. Referred Note 97633, as per that verified the parameters DIR_TRANS, DIR_EPS_ROOT. There is no issue. Parameters are set correctly.
    02. Upgraded the kernel (latest), tp, r3trans, sapcar to latest version and tried, but the same error.
    03. Checked by creating the cofile manually using following command from OS.
tp createcofile KH47028 - got the same error
    Regards,
    Iyyappan MR

    Further to my message,
We have carried out the following activities too,
    04. Removed from TMS domain controller and made it as a local domain controller. Post which tried to apply patch, but same error.
    05. Applied other patches which are less than in size (<5mb), its getting applied successfully. But the APPL patch SAPKH47028 which is 40MB around is not getting applied. Also point no (01) is rulled out for cause of this problem as the patch with less than 5mb is getting applied successfully.
    06. R3trans -l KH47028.sap gives following error.
1AETW065 check-sum error in datafile after "9752592" bytes.
2EETW000 Please contact the SAP support.

    4 ETW000 date&time: 15.05.2009 - 20:38:10
    4 ETW000 1 error occured.
    07. While uncaring the file in the same server it gives checksum error, hence we uncar the file on different server and moved the PAT and ATT file to IN folder and tried, but no result.
    08. SAP has sent the PAT and ATT file after uncaring the said patch, but still the error was same.
    09. We could have downloaded this patch morethan 5 times from SMP and tried extracting this in different locations, servers. but not able to apply.
    10. Felt there may be a disk problem, then we re-configured the RAID and then tried applying the patch, but no result. Even checked the size of the files by uncaring in different location, but there is no difference in size.
Now the last option which we are looking at is providing internet access on the same server and download the patch and then try to apply.
    Any suggestion on this pls.
    Regards,
    Iyyappan MR

  • Invalid checksum when downloading & installing elements 10 trial

see http://forums.adobe.com/message/4293531#4293531 from another user who's apparently having exactly the same issues.
however, the "answer" provided there appears to be irrelevant. first and foremost, I returned to the computer to find this message, so I didn't "force" it to stop extracting. when I restarted the computer and then the download assistant, I was unable to re-download because it's already on the computer, got the checksum error again, and the download assistant has been stuck in extracting and can't even be force quit.
not giving me the warm fuzzies here peeps...
and because of my work schedule, I won't have any more time to waste on this until next weekend. time to buy from another company perhaps? this is ridiculous.
    running on Lion 10.7.4
tried downloading on my windows 7 box, but stopped when I saw that the upgrade price was the same as the full purchase price.

If you are running Snow Leopard or Lion OSX, navigate to Disk utility->Preferences. Uncheck "verify checksums" and then install
If they install successfully, please go back to the Disk utility-> Preferences option and reselect "verify checksums".

    You've got a corrupted download.
Get a new download:  download the trial version and install that.  Use your serial number to register and activate it.

  • PS CS5.1 on Mac "unexpected error...shutting down" Reinstall? But dmg file has checksum error. Now what?

All my CS5 products open fine, but PS. It starts to boot then breaks off, "An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred. Photoshop will now exit." with a Quit button. It has worked fine in the past. (Does it perhaps not work in OS X Yosemite?)
Thought I might just reinstall from my archived dmg file, but that gives me a checksum error, so that seems no longer an option.
Not sure where to turn next.
    thanks for any pointers

No Ted it should not require a new download.  Perhaps the file got corrupted in some way?  As an alternate source we do have the retail installation files available at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-product-downloads.html.
I would recommend still maintaining a local back up.

  • Biosrom checksum error

I needed the bios update for a Compaq Presario SR5019UK to fix a problem with the computer namely blue screen issue (0x5C) when resuming from Hibernate mode and black screen issue when resuming from Sleep mode. So I downloaded the bios update and followed the instructions. Very easy just double click the file - but on rebooting I have the message below :
    Award BootBlock BIOS v1.0
Copyright (c) 2000. Award Software, Inc.
    BIOS ROM checksum error
    Detecting floppy drive A media
INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER
As you can see the bios is corrupted or toast.
So I rang HP as I don't know if I can fix this and they said the machine is to old to fix and basically swallow it!..What there saying is if I cannot do a system restore then hard luck but I've explained the computer cannot do this at the moment as it doesn't know what to do with the hardware because of the BIOS corruption. Swallow this...I don't think so!!!
Firstly what are my options for fixing this?..as I understand I have to reflash or replace the chip - which I have no means of doing.
What is your opinion on downloading a program from a website and that causing a corruption or replacement - would you swallow this?
I've given HP the option of fixing it but they wont cos of the age. {Content Removed} I just want them to fix or replace the machine.
    What do you guys think?

I've have a Computer Engineering degree so don't worry about your explanation

Sorry, but HP isn't the only company that would handle this situation this way. You have a six year old machine that is no longer supported and no longer under warranty. No company has the resources to maintain support for older products, especially when new ones are rotated in about every six months. I know this doesn't make you feel warm and fuzzy inside but these are the cold hard facts.
Since this is a peer-to-peer user supported forum and most of us on this don't work for HP, I can only give you my opinion and advice.
    *****EDIT*****
Since you resolved your issue without my assistance, I have retracked the steps I listed to download the BIOS and flash it from a floppy via the "Award Boot Block".
    Congratulations and good luck!!!

  • Photoshop 6 trial .dmg checksum error

I've tried 3 times to download the trial version of Photoshop 6 and when it tries to install, a message comes up saying there's a checksum error and it won't install. OSX 10.7.3
    Any ideas out there? Thanks.

You can override the verifying checksum feature by completing the following:
Go to Applications/Utilites/Disk Utility and launch it
Go to the Disk Utility menu and select Preferences
    Deselect the Verify Checksum option
You should now be able to mount the DMG file.  I would recommend turning these settings back on after you have installed.  Also if you continue to receive errors like this there is likely an issue with your Internet connection.

  • Installation Problems (checksum error)

So, I've had Adobe Reader for awhile.  My primary browser is Google Chrome.  Reader has always worked fine in Chrome.  .pdf files display with no problem.  Some time in the past month, that stopped, and they no longer would display (but they still displayed in Internet Explorer).  I finally decided today to uninstall and then reinstall Adobe Reader 9.2 to see if that would fix the problem.  I went to the website, downloaded the .exe, and attempted to install it.  5.7% of the way into it, it stopped and displayed this error in a popup:
"Adobe has detected a corrupt file (checksum error).  The program has been closed without installing.
    Info ID: 6800.346.14.2.20034
Please send the Info ID to http://www.adobe.com/misc/bugreport.html"
I've searched for hours now trying to find an answer.  I've found very little even relating to this error.  Adobe hasn't responded yet (not that I thought they would).  I downloaded other applications to delete any leftover files in case the uninstall didn't cover them.  I have no clue what else to try at this point.  0_o

I'm jealous that you got it installed. The error I received originally came from using the .exe download. I get a different error if I use the Firefox download manager with McAfee Scan Install disabled (I haven't tried with it enabled and I see no reason to). The error I get using the download manager is "Operating system error! (16248.103.5302.8000)." The error number means nothing to me or the internet. I click ok on the box, and it says the install was canceled.
And yet, "Adobe.com" managed to get installed using the manager. Funny how the thing you didn't ask for gets installed when nothing else does.
    0 for 2 so far.
I would try using the IE download manager (which I'm sure is entirely reliable), but IE hangs on every Adobe page I try viewing with it.
