Cheque Printing using HP LaserJet P3005n printer

Hi To All,
We have problem in cheque printing. There is a output but the words are missed aline. The device type is HP Laserjet 4 PCL-5 and O.S. is AIX 5.3. Before it is running OK with HP Laserjet 4 printer model. Is this a driver issue in O.S. side? I cannot find suitable driver for this new printer that is suitable in AIX.

If you are facing this problem pls install HP default printer in SAP. I hope you will not getting this problem.
Can you tell me the cheque prining setting in DMP printer or Laser printer. Please check this with your abaper programmer. If setting in DMP then you have to use DMP printer.

If the file is already a PDF, you can upload it directly to Acrobat.com. Just log in to your account at https://cloud.acrobat.com using your Adobe ID and password, and click the Upload File icon (the cloud with an arrow), navigate to your PDF file, and click OK!
(Once a PDF, no need to convert to PDF again!)

G5 Wants to use HP LaserJet L5 Printer ???

Ink is expensive and I'd like to use my HP LaserJet L5 printer on my G5. Problem is the printer only has about 20 pin connector; no firewire. Is there any card I can buy to put in the G5 and be able to use the L5 printer (without problems)? Thanks.

I think the easiest way would be to get a HP Jetdirect Print Server.
I use a Jetdirect EX Plus with my HP LaserJet 6MP and Dualcore G5.
It works without any problems.
You might get used ones quite cheap.

Envelope printing using HP LaserJet CP1525nw color

I have been trying to print envelopes on our above printer. My document is in Word and is formatted accordingly for a #10 business envelope.
Under HP's help feature, I found the appropriate info on how to set up my document's printing options so it would print correctly.
The first envelope printed on the flap side; I re-loaded them back into tray 1 and was ready.
The second envelope printed successfully so I thought I had it figured out. So I loaded the paper tray with 5 envelopes, hoping to print them en masse. I couldn't get this to work when I tried to print 4 at once. I got an error "Jam in Tray 2" and I wasn't even using Tray 2. I cleared the "problem" and ONE envelope printed successfully, then I got the same error message.
I got 2 more envelopes printed this way but each time I got the same error message, cleared the machine, and 1 envelope printed.
Frustrated, I cancelled the multiple print job and tried printing the envelopes one-by-one. Now it's not working at all even though I clear the phantom paper jam each time.
Can anyone help with this? It's driving me nutty.
Background info: my husband (network engineer) set up the printer. I have over 20 years of word processing experience and usually have good results with figuring out printing problems. This one has me stumped!

The CP1525 does allow you to print envelopes.There are two trays that can be used. I will describe only using the lower tray. Normally this tray is used for standard paper. To use it for letter envelopes, you need to pull out the tray and then make some changes. Take out all of the paper. There are blue-colored paper supporters. Two are used for the width of regular papers. Slide it toward the center so that it will handle the envelope with the top toward the left side. Put the envelope in with the printable side up and the top towards the left side. Slide the blue paper holders so they touch the top and bottom. Then push the envelope all the way toward the back and then move the single blue paper holder at the front so that it is against the envelope. You are ready to print as far as the printer.
I have to select properties for the printer. I indicate that I am printing an envelope. I also had to indicate landscape. I also had to move the print areas to fit where I want them to be. Then I added my address and the address to where they are going. I am not sure that I got everything but this should work well.
I did not do this, but you can use both trays with one that holds a number of pages and the other for a number of envelopes.

How do i print using epson continuous printer(dot matrix)? im having a problem printing to that type of printer specially using continuous paper. the first page is correct but unfortunately the succeeding pages are not. its automatically adjusted upon reaching the second page. hope you can help me.

Check with the printer manufacturer that the matrix printer is Unicode compliant. If it is not, it will not work with Crystal Reports. If it is, make sure you have the latest printer driver updates.

Printing using the built-in print drivers launches a PowerPC App.

According to CNET: "Canon, Epson, and HP have all also announced that full universal binary drivers for their Apple peripherals will come with the iMac Core Duo as part of OS X 10.4."
So one would think that if you use said drivers printing would not require Rosetta. Alas - it does.
When I print using the built in drivers which are supposed to be Intel native I have noticed that PrintJobMgr is launched as a PowerPC application (I have been watching it in Activity Monitor). PrintJobMgr is Universal, so is lp and so is the App that gets created when you install the printer.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Any thoughts? The driver that it is supposed to be using is the built in HP InkJet 2.7.1.

I didn't migrate from my powerbook - I only copied over a couple select files by hand (I rsync'd my iPhoto and iTunes and copied over my mail and documents).
I am fairly sure that I have the original HP (and supposedly Universal) drivers and I was aware of the migration bug. That is why I am concerned.
If you are using the built in drivers, print something while watching Activity Monitor. Does PrintJobMgr show up as Intel or PowerPC?
The printer in question is an HP 6840.

The photo cartridge is used for graphics and printing on photo paper. You may be able to use the photo cartridge by selecting Photo paper in the driver settings. This is not a recommended solution - printing will be slower and it may put too much ink on the page. It may be an OK solution for temporary printing.

I'd be happy to help with your Deskjet 2040 on your Windows 8.1 computer, I just need a bit more information to do so!
What program are you trying to print from that it does 2 pages instead of 1? Are you printing from the Internet or using say Word?
Where do you print PDF's from (example: do you use Adobe?)?
What happens when you try to print them? Do you get an error? If so, what does it say?
As you're using Windows, I'd suggest while I await your response that you try downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor and follow any suggestions it may have to offer. If it fails on anything please let me know.

MX700 Printer using color ink to print black

I am printing a project using only black & white (no greys) and my color ink is being used up, but not the black ink, HELP!!

There are several things that may cause the color inks to be used when printing in black and white:
1. Duplex printing is selected. If you print double-sided pages, the color inks will be used to produce the black on the page, even if grayscale printing is selected. This is done to eliminate over-saturation of ink on the page.
2. A paper type other than PLAIN PAPER is selected. Any other paper type selected other than plain paper will utilize the color inks to produce the black on the page.
3. Periodic print head cleanings. The printer goes through a cycle to clean the inkjet nozzles periodically so they do not become clogged; this process will use both the black and color inks.

Is your printer listed on this page as supporting AirPrint : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356 ?
If it doesn't support AirPrint then you could see if the printer manufacturer has their own app in the store which supports it (e.g. Epson have an iPrint app, and HP have an ePrint app). If not then there are third-party printer apps such as Print n Share and PrintCentral Pro which might work with it

I don't know of any way to specify the IP of a network printer. However the printer may be advertising itself by other means. (I assume your router provides WiFi connectivity.)
Some iPad printing Apps like Print n Share may be able to see the printer and successfully print to it. Contact EuroSmartz for advice on whether their Apps may work in your situation.
I have an HP 2605DN connected by Ethernet to my WiFi router. The HP iPrint Photo App, as well as PrintCentral and Print n Share, are able to see it and print to it.

Why doe's my 8500A printer use color ink when printing black and also when unit is cleaning

I only print in black. I am required to buy all the colors because my printer will not operate when any cartridge is empty.
I was informed at Office Depot that all printers operate this way. According to them it also uses ink when it goes through
the cleaning cycle.
The XL ink package at Office Depot (black, yellow, cyan, magenta) is $97.00 + tax.
I hope someone has a logical answer why this is set up this way.
Why do I need colors to print black?

The 8500A takes 4 ink cartridges and 2 printheads (one for black/yellow, and another for the other two colors). This design is so that you have have larger ink cartridges (stationary on the side, the printer only moves the printhead during printing). A drawback is, you have to have all the cartridges in, without the ink cartridges, the printheads could be damaged and would cost more to replace.
Printing black text uses black ink only, it does not use color ink. The "Clean printhead" function does print a color page and uses color ink, but you only need to do this when you notice lines missing (printhead clogged) in the printout.
If you print mostly black only, choose a model that uses cartridges that has a printhead built in. These printers typically can still print black with color ink out.

HP LASERJET P3005N NOT PRINTING WITH MANUAL SETTINGS

We have a subnet for our PCs and Thin Clients and we have a subnet for our printers. The subnet for our PCs and Thin Clients is setup for DHCP service while the subnet for our printers is setup for static addressing. The HP Laserjet P3005n printer is able to operate effeciently in DHCP mode; it picks up an ip and I'm able to print to it, ping it, etc. However, it doesn't communicate with the network when I manually configure an address to it; I'm not able to print to it, ping it, etc. It was working find with the original settings (static ip address) on a Friday then the problem started when the office opened back up on that following Monday. I've tried different cables, assigning the printer's address to a different printer, different ports, and even installed a JetDirect card into it and it still doesn't fix the issue.....PLEASE HELP!

No, probably not. I have no problems printing to my 3015 from 10.5.6.

Doubtful since it's almost certainly not Apple's problem, per se. Make sure you have the latest printer update, HP Printer Update 1.1.1, which should appear in Software Update if you haven't installed it and will probably appear in the "Installed Updates" pane of the Software Update preference. And if course if it's a networked printer you'll want to ping it to make sure that your system is actually reaching the printer.
If you continue to have problems, you'll probably want to take it up with your IT people or with HP. But you can keep an eye on this thread and see if suggestions to the OP would apply in your case as well.
