Cheque writer process issue

In payroll International HRMS i have defined 2 payment methods with 2 different currencies.
USD - BG currency
KSH - Kenyian Shilling
There are 50 employees attached to the USD currency payment method and 800 employees are attached to KSH currency payment method.
Now when i run the cheque writer process i do not select the payment method for this parameter.So to my understanding the should give me a total of 850 employees. But it doesn't do so it only displays 50 employee that have the payment method currency of USD. How can the other 800 employee appear on the following screen :
Navigation :- (N)View>(N)Payroll Process Results>
Action Type =Cheque Writer click on Find
then click on Assignment Process Button.. this is where i am able to see only 50 employees and not all the 850 employees.

gurus what could be the reason of other employees not getting attached to the payment method while the prepayment process has run sucessfully 800 employees ?

    My client has the deposit advice and check writer processes customized and each time they apply an HRMS patch the seeded process replaces them, they go back in and replace them with the older customized version. The 2 processes and the report in cheque writer are customized.

    Obviously your customized Deposit Advice and Cheque Writer report files are named exactly like those delivered by Oracle so they are constantly being overwritten.
    You need to rename the report files(i.e., CUSRPPST.rdf instead of PAYRPPST.rdf) then go into the Concurrent Program setups for these two processes, find the parameter Report Name and change the Default Value to the name of your custom rdf file. Note that your rdf file should reside in the same directory as the delivered rdf and you should leave the extension off in the default value.

  • Cheque Writer and Deposit Advice Process Customization

    Hi,
    My client has a unique requirement of ordering the cheques location-wise rather then the default organization-wise. Also my client wants to add FYTD US tax balance criteria and show some calculations based on that, so there are functions within the report which calls these package and do the necessary calculations related to FYTD.
    To include these 2 customizations, what could the best possible way to customize the 2 processes/packages. Now, I dont think we can handle all these at the report label, hence the packages related to cheque writer/deposit advice has to be customized also. But, these 2 processes are called by PYUGEN and the PYUGEN only calls the seeded processes. How can we make PYUGEN call the customized packages? If that is not possible, do you think its a good idea to go for full customization of the packages and the report and run them separately w/o involving PYUGEN?

    Hi,
    PUYGEN is a pro*C wrapper around plsql packages. I would keep that.
    The actual packages called are stored as data within tables. So that gives you the possibility of
    - changing the seeded packages
    - creating new packages from scratch, and modifying the seeded data to point to your package.
    The first customizations seems so easy (changing the order by of the driving query) that i would opt for a change of the seeded package.
    Pay_magnetic_blocks and pay_magnetic_headers can help you further.

    It's relatively easier to just change the layout using the current xml tags than creating new fields. I am not sure if your environment is on 11i or R12 but the below links should help you get started on either of those

    How can we determine that number of DB WRITER process required for the database. At what basis we set the db writer process in a database. Can any one please explain in detail ?.

    Generally speaking, i don't think the count of db writer will be a bottleneck. I have a large and critical database over 200GB. It only has a db writer. The better way you should do is to perfrom Oracle statspack. It will help you to find out the bottleneck.

    Does anyone have any tips on speeding up the check writer process. I have already used and applied the CBO document for HRMS. I am looking for more tips to speed up the check writer process. It now takes 11 hrs to process 50,000 employee checks.

    You just need to change the output type of the concerned concurrent program to XML.

  • Max processes issue (but not a processes parameter issue)

    I am having ora-0020 max processes issue, but my max processes is set to 550, and I have a highwater mark of 132 processes

    This does seem quite strange. What version are you running?
    ORA-0020 does seem to be a problem at the instance level, not the underlying O/S.

  • Update process issue - having two reports on a page

    Hello,
    I have a page which contains two reports (normal SQL query). And each report have some editable field items with an update button. The thing is that the update process is not working, its giving an error when any of the reports update button is clicked. I am not able to understand the problem. I think their might be a conflict between the two update processes when a page is submitted. Below are the report source queries and update processes. I think their is a problem with the code itself. Like when I click either of the update buttons, the process is failing and is going to the exception block and printing a message "Failed to update row at step 10 with error message "

    Hi Orton,
    to narrow down the source of your error i recommend using a process running before your two other page processes where you write debug-message to output to check how your array's are built up.
    Your no-data-found error message comes most probably from accessing one of the g_fxx arrays on a index position without data. (e.g. if you access g_f04(5) and nothing ever was assigned to index 5 in array g_f04 you'll get an no-data-found exception).

  • Third Party Process Issue

    Need Your Inputs for below issue"
    in third party process: SO is created with 2 line items, -->PR-->PO--> Vendor delivers only 1 item and MIRO is done for it,
    But
    During Creation of Customer invoice Both Line items are considered in the Invoice(F2)
    1st line item with the Value of X Rs,  and 2nd Line item with zero value ( as there is no delivery done to customer and hence no invoice via MIRO)
    Requirement is:
    The 2nd Line item should not be considered at all during Customer invoice creation.
    Item cate used is TAS with billing relevance F (i,e standard config)

    SO is created with 2 line items, PR is auto created. 1 PO is created (with 2 line items)
    MIRO is done w.r.t PO line item 10 only,
    then when i create customer invoice from SO i get 2 line items, for 1st line item there is value populated. 2nd line item has zero value,
    The requirement is that if there is no Processing of SO for line item 2 ,, then it should not be populated in the customer invoice.

  • Report/Process Issue

    Getting close to finishing this project but ran into a new issue. When the user performs a search, a report (non-interactive) is generated and displays a Cart icon if the item is In; this is also a link to add the item to your cart for ordering. The link takes the user to the Cart page, and makes a Request for the ADDCART process, which is an conditional On Demand process loading before the header to fire an Application Process ADDTOCART, based on two values set in the same link.
    However, the process isn't running at all. The instructions in the ADDTOCART process are used on another page, so we know the commands are correct, but the tables aren't updated. Here's the link from the report field:

    I ran Debug on the link but didn't see anything that stood out. Also, I'm not sure how to create a button within the Report (I found myself wishing I could do that when making the original report!), but I'm open to suggestions...
    Meanwhile, I've got a recreation of the problem set up on apex.oracle.com
    Workspace: CPATE
    Username: TESTER
    Pass: testing
    On the Page 2, you'll see the report with the cart icon described in the original post. Clicking on the links next to it takes you to Page 3, the Details page, and from there you can add an item to the cart.
    However, when you click the cart icon on Page 2, it goes to page 4 and assigns the values as directed, but doesn't execute the ADDCART page process (which should be executing the ADDTOCART application process).

  • Write permissions issues / lots of "ACL found but not expected" errors / hardware failure? on brand new Mac Mini (still within warranty). OSX Mavericks 10.9.1.

    I was hoping that I could receive some feedback from you fine folks here
    My situation:
    I bought a 2012 Mac Mini 2.6 Ghz Intel Core i7 from the online Apple store. It came with Mavericks 10.9.1 pre-installed and was delivered two days ago (I know, the mini update is evident but I needed the machine).
    I noticed that I had to enter my password every time I created, moved or deleted a folder. I did not think much of it.
    I did, however, think much of not being able to install files from certain developers. I received the "The installer is damaged" notification as shown in this topic: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5541793
    This screenshot is someone elses, I tried to install audio software.
    Based on that error, I contacted the developer of the software. But then I noticed that I got the same error for other developers too.
    I tried the solution that the topic starter marked as solving his issue in https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5541793. It involves booting in OSX Recovery (command+R) and excecuting the 'resetpassword' command. That did not work for me. It also looks like my password data isn't stored as I do not see the 'obfuscated' password dots that the screenshot shows in that topic, even when I entered and saved it multiple times -- but I'm not sure if that is part of the main issue (which I'm gettting to).
    I also made sure gatekeeper allows applications to be installed from unidentified developers, as shown here: http://www.instantteamspeak.com/static/en/img/mac-gatekeeper-anywhere.png That didn't help either.
    Next I opened up Disk Utility and ran a check on write permissions. That got me worried.
    The check ran for a long time, spitting out "ACL found but not expected" errors.
    I proceeded to restore write permissions. That took 20-25 minutes.
    Once it finished I checked write permissions again. An equal amount of permissions needed to be restored! It's as if Mavericks didn't remember anything it did.
    The good news is that I could now install the files I previously couldn't, but the fact that I've restored write permissions three times now, and each time it seems as if nothing of that is remembered, has gotten me worried.

    I then checked the hard disk and the partition above it. The Macintosh HD gave me the green 'ok' light, but something weird happened when I checked the partition on the level above it. The point is to demonstrate how long it takes).
    When I checked the hard disk for a second and third time, I got 'everything ok' results pretty quickly.

    Edit: I sum up my findings at the end of the video, might be better to skip here and then watch the full thing only if it's not clear yet.
    There is some further explanation in the video. It basically comes down to Disk Utility not finishing/not providing any conslusion, while Activity Monitor shows it's not doing anything -- please bare with me when watching the video, I know it's not the most exhiting video ever posted on YouTube but it does bring my point across (there is some more talk in this one; not sure if that's an improvement in terms of entertainment value though ).
    ** Is my hard disk failing? In that case I'll return the Mac immediately.
    ** Or just a software issue?
    As said, this Mac Mini is brand new. If at some stage anyone would feel the wise thing to do is to return my Mac, please do let me know. There is a 14 day return policy in The Netherlands (on top of other warranties) and I'd rather return it in case of doubt, than end up with technical issues with this machine once I've started working with it. I'm ok with doing some troubleshooting if the machine is fine, but I'd rather not take a gamble with a 1200 € machine under warranty.

It involves booting in OSX Recovery (command+R) and excecuting the 'resetpassword' command. That did not work for me. It also looks like my password data isn't stored as I do not see the 'obfuscated' password dots that the screenshot shows in that topic, even when I entered and saved it multiple times -- but I'm not sure if that is part of the main issue (which I'm gettting to).
    I also made sure gatekeeper allows applications to be installed from unidentified developers, as shown here: http://www.instantteamspeak.com/static/en/img/mac-gatekeeper-anywhere.png That didn't help either.
    Next I opened up Disk Utility and ran a check on write permissions. That got me worried.
    The check ran for a long time, spitting out "ACL found but not expected" errors.
    I proceeded to restore write permissions. That took 20-25 minutes.
    Once it finished I checked write permissions again. An equal amount of permissions needed to be restored! It's as if Mavericks didn't remember anything it did.
    The good news is that I could now install the files I previously couldn't, but the fact that I've restored write permissions three times now, and each time it seems as if nothing of that is remembered, has gotten me worried.

    I then checked the hard disk and the partition above it. The Macintosh HD gave me the green 'ok' light, but something weird happened when I checked the partition on the level above it. It will take ages to finish and I see Disk Utility doing some strange 'jumping around': http://youtu.be/hyLAEhLRnKc (warning - long video so you might want to skip through it.     When I checked the hard disk for a second and third time, I got 'everything ok' results pretty quickly.

    Edit: I sum up my findings at the end of the video, might be better to skip here and then watch the full thing only if it's not clear yet.
    There is some further explanation in the video. It basically comes down to Disk Utility not finishing/not providing any conslusion, while Activity Monitor shows it's not doing anything -- please bare with me when watching the video, I know it's not the most exhiting video ever posted on YouTube but it does bring my point across (there is some more talk in this one; not sure if that's an improvement in terms of entertainment value though ).
    ** Is my hard disk failing? In that case I'll return the Mac immediately.

    As said, this Mac Mini is brand new. If at some stage anyone would feel the wise thing to do is to return my Mac, please do let me know. There is a 14 day return policy in The Netherlands (on top of other warranties) and I'd rather return it in case of doubt, than end up with technical issues with this machine once I've started working with it. I'm ok with doing some troubleshooting if the machine is fine, but I'd rather not take a gamble with a 1200 € machine under warranty.
