Chicago blues style drum track shuffle

I want to find some chicago style drum tracks for garage band. Style like Elmore James, Howlin Wolf. Where can I find drum fills and beats for this style?

No I have never seen any. If you have ever used a drum machine, it is much the same, with a lot of control over things. You pretty much need to know what real does and how they do it to create realistic sounding drum tracks.
Try dragging a green drum loop to the timeline, then double click on it to bring up the editor, and you'll see how they are put together.

  • How do you export a drum track to Music XML from Logic Pro

I have a song in Logic Pro with a compound drum track that consists of a Drummer subtract as well as a manually written drum track using the same kit (for specific fills and kicks) as well as a drum line with auxilliary percussion. I kinda figured there was no way to combine the subtracts, so I am OK exporting each to Music XML separately (although if someone knows how to combine, I am all ears). I created a new software instrument using the same drum kit as the Drummer track and options-dragged the Drummer track to the new software instrument to convert it. However, when I view the Score Editor window for ANY of the three drum tracks, it does not come up in drum notation, but in bass cleff. The Style is blank and I don't know how to change it to drums.
I want to export to MusicXML to give my drummer music, so I am exporting this to Musescore.
Does anybody know how to export drum tracks properly? I am using Logic Pro 10.0.7
    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the quick response!
I got the Join part, but when I look at the Score view for the song below I don't get the characteristics editor your screenshot shows (see attachment one). However, I can pull this up if I select on the regions in the track I want and select Window -> Score Editor. However, under Style, I can select the pulldown with a bunch of pre-defined options, non-of which are "#Drums". How does one put #Drums into the Style field (see second attachment)?

  • Why can't set Tracking=0, if  Paragraph Style has Tracking 0?

oCharRange has Paragraph Style format Tracking=30
    if set:  oCharRange.CharacterAttributes.Tracking = 0
It not working. Tracking  of  oCharRange still is 30
Why can't set Tracking=0, if  Paragraph Style has Tracking <>0?

You can set an iPod Classic to shuffle in a Playlist. Well, my Classic (running 1.1.2 PC) can.
What are you doing after setting shuffle to songs in the Settings menu?
What you need to do is scroll down to the Playlist of your choice and either:
highlight the Playlist and press the Play button (which will play a song at random from that Playlist). When that song finishes, another song will be played - at random - from that same Playlist
enter the Playlist and choose a song that you want to be played first. When that song finishes, another song from that Playlist will be chosen - at random - to be played.
When songs are being played in shuffle mode (the random choice of song), you will see the shuffle icon in the top right corner of the screen. (It's the same icon when in shuffle albums mode.) What happens, that is different, in your case?

  • What is best for creating Drum tracks

I play a virtuoso style metal. I need a pretty hefty collection of drum loops to meet my needs. The ones provided with garageband are not even close to what i need. Really i'm dissapointed in what drum loops come with it. it seems most are for dance music.
are loops the way to go in creating realy intricate drum tracks or is there a nice drum sequencer that is user friendly and can give me what i need. Think of something Lars used to play with Metallica before they sent soft. that's kind of what I'm needing.

or you can do that by hand. it took me about 20 hours to put together a drum recording of King DIamond's Welcome Home.

  • How do i use parallel compression for 4 drum tracks in Logic pro 7.2.3 Please

how do i use parallel compression for 4 drum tracks in Logic pro 7.2.3 Please. my version is 7.2.3 and my son did his drums on 4 tracks. 2 OH's 1 Kick and 1 Snare. Were confused because we cant figure out how to do parallel compression on the older logic version 7.2.3?

I can't remember when the Aux tracks became the new buss tracks, so I'll spell this out using busses.
The way I do it, is I assign all my drum tracks to a buss, say buss 1.
Then, on buss 2, I assign it's INPUT to buss 1.
So buss 1 (all the drums) are feeding into buss 2 simultaneously.
Put a compressor on buss 2, turn the fader down all the way, then as the track is playing, bring buss 2's fader up slowly, until you hear the effect you're after.
You could also do this using sends on the 4 drum tracks, set to feed the buss with the compressor on it.
I hope I haven't forgotten anything particular to that version of Logic. See if this helps...

  • Can't get more than one Ultrabeat sound setting in one project. If I have a drum track with an Ultrabeat "downtempo kit" and I make another drum track with "hip hop kit" in the same project, the settings of the other track transform to "hip hop" setting.

So here's my situation.  I'm using Logic Pro 9.  I'm trying to use multiple drum tracks each with different Ultrabeat settings.  So let's say I have drum track with a loop from Ultrabeat that has the "downtempo kit 2" setting on it.  If I make another drum track and create a different loop in Ultrabeat with a different setting, let's say "hip hop kit" for example, and put that loop onto the new track, then the previous loop that I had in the first drum track will still be the same loop but the sound kit settings change to that of "hip hop kit."  So I can have different loops, but they all have to be "hip hop kit" settings or "downtempo kit 2" settings.  I am unable to multiple kit settings.  Is there a box I need to check to turn some automation off or something, because this is pretty inconvinient?  Why do I have to have only one Ultrabeat sound/kit setting per Logic project?

Sounds like maybe you're using the same channel strip on multiple tracks? Make sure you're creating a new software instrument channel strip for each independent instance of Ultrabeat you want to have. If you use the same CS, then all tracks that use it will have to have the same kit.

  • I'm trying to record audio into my iPad2 using GarageBand and an iRig, but I can't monitor my tracks at the same time as recording, meaning if I lay down a drum track and attempt to record guitar, I can't hear the drums while recording. Thoughts?

I'm trying to record audio into my iPad2 using GarageBand and an iRig, but I can't monitor my tracks at the same time as recording, meaning if I lay down a drum track and attempt to record guitar, I can't hear the drums while recording. Thoughts?

Hi, I have this exact same problem. I haven't been using an iRig, just a cheap USB-jack cable. I managed to do this with the first cable I bought, but since it broke I've been unable to find a replacement that allows me to hear the drums while recording. DId you manage to get over this issue? If so I would really like to know how. Thanks and best wishes.

  • When I export a AAF file from Protools 9 and Import the file into Logic ProX the drum track is out of sync.  I created the drum loop using NI Maschine.  Has anyone else seem this??

When I export an AAF file/project from Protools 9 using an external drive and import the AAF into Logice Pro X the drum track does not play correctly.  It is out of sync with the rest of the track.  I created the drum loop as a plugin using Native Instruments Maschine. Has anyone else had this problem??  Also how would I go about exporting the midi tracks from the Protools session.  The midi track does not show when the file is imported to Logic Pro X.  The midi data should export with the AAF file correct??

Are you using any plugins in Logic?
In Preferences/Audio  under the General tab, how do you have the plug-in-latency compensation set?

  • In Logic Pro, trying to import a drum track from the bin to arrange area, the 'follow loop' box does not appear in the inspector

imported a drum track from bin to arrange area.  It will not follow tempo of the project even though it was recorded in this project.  The 'follow tempo' box in the inspector does not appear even though it is present on other tracks in the file.
how do I set up the track so the 'follow tempo' box appears in the inspector?

Don't drag the midi into an open Logic project. The tracks won't set up correctly.
'Open' the midi file with Logic as if it were a Logic project. Then all the tracks will be set up so you can start editing them and applying better saved sounds and instruments, but you'll be at a starting place where you can hear what's going on.

  • I can´t get the drum tracks of my Korg M50 to sound in garageband.  Does anyone know how?

I can´t get the drum tracks of my Korg M50 to sound in garageband.  Does anyone know how?

If it's actual audio out from the M50, you just need to hook up its audio outs into whatever you're using to get sound into the computer (audio interface, the computer's input jack, whatever it is that you're using), fire up a real audio track, and record.
But if you're having difficult with drum tracks, that's usually this:
Drum tracks on many MIDI devices default to MIDI channel 10. MIDI channel 10 is like the universal MIDI channel for drum tracks. However, GB likes to see MIDI channel 1, regardless of the instrument.
Therefore, if this is a MIDI issue, you'd need to change the MIDI channel on your drum tracks from 10 to 1 to make them GB friendly.

  • How do I adjust the tempo of a drum track inserted in Audition multitrack session?

(Note: for the Audition 101 user)  In a multitrack Audition session, what is the best way to adjust the tempo of an inserted drum track to sync up with the already metronome-established tempo of recorded rhythm tracks (guitars & vocals)?

Time Stretch the clip. Either by trial and error or, if you know the tempo of the inserted track, by calculation.

  • I'm using GarageBand 10.0.1. Do the built-in drum tracks only come in mono format, or is it possible to make them true stereo (i.e. Left and Right channels outputing different signals, to sound like the kit has been panned across the stereo field)?

I'm using GarageBand 10.0.1. Do the built-in drum tracks only come in mono format, or is it possible to make them true stereo (i.e. Left and Right channels putting out different signals, to sound like the kit has been panned across the stereo field)?

All the Drum Kits available for GarageBand are mixed in stereo.
Logic provides the same 18 Drum Kits also as "Producer Kits", which are multi-track outputs,. Each Drum Kit Piece (Kick, Snare, HH, etc) and also room mice and overheads are routed to individual channel strips.
Here is a screenshot of one Drum Kit in Logic Pro X with individual Channels Strips. Each Channel Strip can be loaded with individual effects (compressor) and adduced with individual sends, etc.
What that means is that all the Drummers are professionally recorded and sampled with individual mics. The Stereo Drums Kits are just "stereo mix-downs" for easier handling and less CPU demand. I explain all the details about the Drummer ecosystem in my graphically enhanced manual "GarageBand X - How it Works"
    Hope that helps

  • How to make a custom drum track

    APPLE, you need to LISTEN.
I want to be able to swiftly and intuitively create a new drum track and simply create every drum stroke for a song.
    The current method is COUNTER-INTUITIVE.
There should be multiple ways to do this, but here's the basic method I'd prefer:
    1. Create new track
    2. Choose drums
    3. Launch a substitute "keyboard" that gives you a drum kit and drum sticks
    4. Record enable the track
    5. Using keyboard commands and/or mouse clicks onto the drum kit, create your track
    6. At the bottom of the interface, allow the user to see each drum stroke by time in the track, by drum type, and allow us to move notes around, etc.
*A separate piece of hardware should be invented to help create drum tracks within Logic Pro X.
*Maybe something similar to an X-Box's Kinect feature where we can hold drum sticks and hit the air.
If this 6-step method above already exists, it needs to be added as the first method taught with drums.

    APPLE, you need to LISTEN.
Then posting here, is a waste of your time....

But first I would suggest you take the time to learn how to use Logic Pro...

...as what you are asking for is quite possible already...
Hint: Use the Musical Typing Keyboard to play/record sounds from one of the Drum Kits provided...for example.. one of the EXS24 kits... and then watch/edit via the Piano Roll....

Thanks. I know how to select multiple tracks in the mixer, did that and put on group clutch,
    Hi
    Wrong..
To assign tracks to a group, click in the dark gray box just above the automation (Read/Write/Off etc) on a channel strip, and select the group number you wish to use. The first tim eyou assign a group, the Group Setting swindow will appear automatically, thereafter you need to click on the group area and choose 'Open Group Settings'.
Make sure that you have turned off Group Clutch (this disables all Groups)
    Maybe this will help

  • How do I make GarageBand 10  Drum Track Longer?

In GarageBand 10, the "Drummer" tool creates drum tracks of a certain length, but that length is shorter than my song.
So how do I generate or modify my Drum Track to be as long as my song?
    Thanx!

You can loop the region, or copy and paste the region in the track. By adding several cpoies of the initial region you can modify the settings and vary the pattern - make it softer or more complex, so that the track will not become boring.
