Child Page automatically changes sizes

Hi There,
Having a issue which is bugging me and taking up alot of time.
In short i created several pages from a template but for some reason the one page decreases the page width and height. If looking through the site in "preview in browser" all the pages are fine then when i click on the specific page it looks like you have zoomed out in the browser.
I have tried re-creating the page from the template as well as other html pages that work fine, but as soon as i save it is reduces the page size however the CSS is still correct.
Any suggestions is as always greatly appreciated.

Without a link to your site it's impossible to diagnose the exact cause of this issue.
When things go wrong validate your code and fix reported errors.

You can do this using a meta refresh but the problem is you have to add it to the html file for the page very time you publish changes.
A better way is to create a splash page and upload it to the server outside of the folder produced by iWeb. Example HERE.
The meta refresh is added to the head section of the html file...

The delay time in seconds is marked in blue and the URL to the redirect page is in red.

Linked pages are changing size - pls help!

We've created a pdf with linked pages (simple contents and back).
It looks ok when viewed on a mac but when it's viewed on a PC the pages change magnification - they seem to just get smaller everytime a link is clicked.
Anyone got any good ideas?

no when you make the font size smaller (press any button) you will notice as it comes down to say 12 and below the becomes deformed (use the magnifer u will see). The problem seems to be that the triangle head is not being drawn equally on both sides. This is a real pain in the arse.
I just hope you/any1 can fix it or come up with another solution.
I do need to draw them though and make them look better.

Is it not possible to create a text box, fill it with dynamic (data driven) text, but make the font size either scale up or down automatically, so that the entire text box is filled? This is a feature in PrintShop Mail Pro called COPY FIT. but no such feature in Indesign??

lol... it seems to work, but I have another huge problem!
Apparently .CSV files cannot contain page breaks in the data! The data I am trying to merge is a 'letter', with paragraphs, line breaks, etc.,
But, after data merging, it ignores page breaks and only merges the first paragraph of each letter. (sigh)
Solution? Hopefully, an EASY solution. lol as we have thousands of records.
Is there a third party indesign plugin that will allow .xml, or .xls data merge import??

Page Orientation Automatically Changes on Changing Page Width & Height

Problem in Crystall Report 2008
If I change the Page Width & Height of report in Page Setup, page Orientation Automatically Changes according to the width of page.
Is there any way to avoid this or this is Bug in Crystall Report 2008 ?

The issue can be divided into two problems:
(1) CR automatically change the orientation according to the page size
(2) Print result is wrong when the orientation is automatically changed
For (1), this doesn't have an effect in the design of the report, in fact, if you try the same operation in Microsoft Word 2007, you can perceive the same behavior.
For (2), this is the really crucial problem. Itu2019s not fully fixed in SP2, this is currently planned to be addressed in SP3.
There may be a possibility that you can get your hands on a patch instead of waiting for SP3. Open a support case, if you don't have a maintenance contract you can purchase a single case of support from here:

Change my dwt to dwt.php and update child pages

Hello,
I need to convert my dwt to php. My site is not that big at this time so I can manually change the links and extensions on the child pages if needed. How do I convert the template and assure it stays attached to the child pages? As a test, I used "save as" and saved the template as mytemplate. dwt.php. I edited a region of the template and saved. The content of the child pages didnt update at all. They dont seem to be attached.

Method 3 worked like a charm and saved a lot of time. Can I ask you an off topic question? I uploaded my site and things were good with current browsers I was shocked when I pulled up my website on an old pc with IE6. I really wish I hadn’t looked! Many images are very large, distorted, and misplaced. One example occurs in a div with the following class:

                padding-bottom: 10px;
I checked the properties. The image only has one class .form_container. New browsers display the image it’s actual 125px size, but IE6 stretches it to 100% of the div size. Looking at the css, I see did not specify any image properties.   I have this problem with images all over the site. What is the most effective way to solve it?

IE 11 Parent Page/Tab refreshes automatically when we close Child page before completion of load

We have opened the application in IE 11 then when i am click on the button it will open another window, before it is opening fully we have closed the child page then it is refreshing parent page automatically because of this what ever the changes we
are having in the parent page got lost.

I click on a link or start typing text in a box on a webpage, any page, and the browser window either randomly changes size, reduces & goes to the toolbar, or some other strange random thing occurs. Why is this?

Whenever I am using Firefox, when I am on a webpage (any webpage) & I either click on a link in that page, start typing in a box, click on a button, or click on a tab, the browser window either reduces to the toolbar, or just changes size, usually from full-screen to 2/3 of its size. I reinstalled Firefox (downloaded from the web) after wiping my hard drive because I was having so many problems from my browser constantly crashing, to the computer itself crashing often, to the computer running exceptionally slow. At first everything seemed fine. But then after having opened my computer a few times, a few different windows began to freeze, then that stopped, then this thing with the browser started a few times later after opening it. Now it does it every time I open it. Also, whenever I try to click on a button on other windows on my computer, I get the 'warning' sound, nothing happens, then after a couple more tries, the button works. All of this is just weird. I had antivirus protection on my computer, but it apparently did not catch whatever virus infected my computer, or the damage was already done when it did get it. I thought once the hard drive was wiped, that everything would be ok, but then these weird things began to start up, and now I am wondering.... Of course, it could also be something wrong with the browser, too. I've also had some trouble getting my printer to working again, but I've managed to solve that problem.

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

How do I add page numbers to my document without the page numbers automatically changing? The title page is blank, I can type in 1 on the 1st typed page, but the #1 automatically goes into the next page and will not change.

Click at bottom of the first page:
Menu > Insert > Section break
Click somewhere in the 2nd page (not the header/footer)
Inspector > Layout > Section > Page Numbers > Start at 1 > Configuration > uncheck use previous headers and footers
Click into the header or footer of the second page:
Menu > Insert > Auto Page Numbers…
If there is anything in the header or footer on the first page that you don't want just select it and delete it.
If you really wanted to manual place page numbers on each page you will have to use a section break between each and every page. I can't imagine that would be useful.

Is there any way to turn off the auto formatting in Pages? I just want to type a letter and add pictures and titles, and Pages keeps changing font sizes and doesn't let me "Do it my way". I HATE this!

The only one left is the "unsubmitted text" dialogue, which would not be a problem if I were not a Facebook user; after updating the "Richard is..." field (which does not require a manual submit to actually send) I get the above message. This is obviously Safari just not realising that the info has been sent and is therefore (I imagine) one for Apple themselves to answer!!

Not being a Facebook User, I'm not sure how to respond to the error situation. However, this would be something to report to Apple as a bug via the Safari Menu. First, open to the page in question, then select "Report Bugs to Apple".

Time Machine on my iMac won't open iPhoto. It goes to desktop screen automatically. When I select User/Picture/Iphoto library it only brings up the preview page with the size of the folder. I can't get into the library to look for lost photos.

Thank You. This helps me alot to get into the masters and to see events and photos in a utilitarian way, but it is not as easy as viewing the normal iphoto format to find photos. Can I do something else or did I not do something right to not see normal iphoto in Time Machine ?

DW CS3 child page content doubled after template change

Hello
I am using DW CS3. My question / problem is that the child page of a template has double content (two times the same) after changing something on the template.
On the child page I am entering text into a editable region in side an AP div. When I don't like the position of the text in the child I close the child and go to the Parnet (template) and change the L and the T. Moving it to a more suitable location. When I update the site and re-open the child the content is doubled and not even one right on top of another but staggered.
When I view the child page there are three editable region tages that show up in the design window. doctile, head and Editregion3.
I receive an error saying "there is an error at line 46, column 139 (absolute position 1583) of D:\.....\index.html"; InstanceBegin tag inside editable region.
Not too sure what that means or how I need to fix it.
If you have any suggestions on how I might be able to resolve this problem I would be more than appreciative.

Not really a solution, but I changed the z value from auto to 1000, and now I can move the APdiv around with out causing any problems.
The only odd thing is before I was not colliding with any other elements of the page. So I am not too sure why it did not want to work on the same plane as the other elements.
EDIT:
Changing the z value did not solve the problem. It was a fluke that it worked for a few moves.
Any help would be great.

Template changes in editable region do not propagate to child pages??

I have a website that was created using Dreamweaver CS4. I have copied the directory onto a machine running CS6 and set it up as a new site in DW. I want to make a change in the editable region of a template that feeds all the pages. However, when I make the change it appears to go through the motion of propagating the change across all the pages, but in fact - when checking 'detail' of the process - all it seems to be doing is identifying the child pages but not updating them. No changes occur. Any ideas? I did not have this problem previously, as far as I remember.

Correct Ken.
The content in editable regions of a DW Template are editable on a page by page basis in all child pages. Any content in an editable region in a Template will not propagate to child pages.
Anything in a non-editable region of a Template can only be edited in the DW Template and those changes will propagate to child pages when the Template is saved.

Will pages automatically reformat to correct size when using Folio Builder or do I have to make pages iPad format, for example, in InDesign document set up from the start?

You need to set up the pages appropriately for the target device. For iPad that's 1024x768.
