Chilean ´peso´ sign (with iWeb ´06)?

I am making my Chilean (Spanish) website www.eduard.cl. Therefore I need the chilean ´peso´sign. However I bought this MacBook in the Netherlands (Europe)!
Does someone know how I can get the ´peso´ sign to use with iWeb ´06?

The best way to get it may be to use a font whose "dollar" symbol looks appropriate. This from the Wikipedia entry for Cifrão:
"On Mac OS X the following fonts, supplied with the system, contain cifrão signs rather than the single-stroke dollar symbol:
Baskerville (only the regular weight, not bold or semibold)
Big Caslon
Bodoni MT
Brush Script MT
Garamond
STFangsong
STKaiti
STSong"
Of course it will only look that way if the viewing system has the same font installed, or if you turn your text into a graphic. Adding an invisible amount of shadow will do the latter.

I am using a new imac with osx lion 10.7.5 and have just bought Apple iLife 11 on dvd so that I can install iWeb and iDVD, as macs no longer ship with these apps. When I click on install iLife I get a message saying "iLife.kpg was signed with an invalid certificate.
Next problem is that when moving through the installer and get to custom install, as I only want to install iDVD and iWeb, I am presented with the option to install iDVD, Sounds & Jingles and iWeb, but not sure what is going on with the other 3 options iLife Support etc, they seem to be greyed out but still look like they may install over the top of the newer versions already on my imac. Is it ok for me to just go ahead and hit install? Or do I have a problem?

Yep, just install iDVD (plus sounds and jingles) and iWeb if you want it (but note that iWeb apparently won't work if you upgrade to Mountain Lion).
Then use Software Update to get any late iDVD updates.

How do I add a type tag to my enclosure with iWeb?

I encode my video with QuickTime, manage my website with iWeb, and upload it to the web with Transmit.
A few episodes ago, my podcasts stopped updating on Podcast Alley. Tech support pointed out the problem: There are no type tags on any of my enclosures.
From what I gather, the type tag tell you what kind file it is - ie, a .m4v
I don't have any idea how to add a type tag to an enclosure using iWeb, and I don't even know if its possible. I would think that iWeb would do it automatically.
Also, how do I change my feed? I originally just used the feed iWeb created:

Setting up Online chat or realt ime messaging with iWeb

I am new to this, so apologies if question is niave.
I want to be able to to set up a messaging system through a web-site (created with iWeb) & have an online chat facilitiy preferably in real time, rather than posts on a messge board, so I can ask questions & direct the chat.
Its for a structured discussion for some PhD research I am doing.
Is there some way to combine iChat & iWeb. I was thinking through the 'group' service on dot.mac, using jabber on bonjour?
BTW (I have never used jabber or bonjour before, so all advice gratefully received).

Unfortunately this first version of iWeb doesn't really lend itself to doing what it is you are trying to do. In order for you to achieve this you will have to get under the bonnet so to speak. You can either have a link such as the one you will find here: http://web.mac.com/justin_stevens/iWeb/Lounge/About%20Me.html which will initiate an iChat / AIM session with you directly. (If you wish to do something like this I can help you manually edit the necessary files). Or else you can try something slightly more clever as outlined here: http://homepage.mac.com/cherrypop/iblog/C1900478167/E20060301171845/index.html The advantage of the latter is that your web site will show your offline / online status as well as initiating a chat session with you when clicked. I guess I will wrap this up. I have abandoned iPhoto and viewing my Photo Streams using it and moved to Adobe products (Bridge + PS). So that's that.

You need to transfer your domain.sites file from your MacBook to your iMac. This is the file where iWeb stores all info and can be found under User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites.
Transfer this file from your MacBook to the same place on your iMac and double click the domain.sites file and iWeb will open it on your iMac and you can update your site from there too.

How many website can I create with iWeb?

How many different webpages can I create with iWeb? I just created a site to show friends a slide show from a recent trip, but I need to create another webpage that will have video on it. It would be a totally different subject matter. I do have a .MAC account and not sure if I need to do anything with that so I can have more webpages.
I guess what I am saying is that I am going to need different URL's for the webpages I am going to need to create and want to know how many you can have or create using iWeb.

You can have multiple websites, each with multiple pages depending on the need. To make managing multiple sites easier, take a look at iWebSites. The limiting factor, as was pointed out, is the available space on your iDisk. I use iWebSites to manage multiple sites.. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites. Be sure to make a backup copy of your Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process.
This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want.

I have also noticed the same "problem". I do not fully understand the impact of using the same ID on multiple computers and devices if I want to keep them all in sync.

Can I set up a Web server for my internal network with iWeb.

I'd like to set up a web page that is only accessible from my internal network and hosted on one of my macs. I'd like to host home movies in quicktime format that I can stream to my iPhone and iPod Touch. Can I do this with iWeb? Do I need additional software to serve the site off of my mac? I would also like to set up passwords on a sub-page that will contain PG-13 and R rated movies - is this possible as well?

Start your personal webserver.
Put the iWeb pages (or any webpage) in the root folder of your personal webserver or in the webfolder of your Home directory.
Either:
/Library/WebServer/Documents/
or
~/Sites/
Its' an Apache webserver. The manual is on your computer too.

Battety problems - blank screen wit battery sign with red line

I have the blackberry 8900 curve. Recently when I put my phone on charge it would turn my BB off and turn it self back on again. My battery was about 2% and I put it on charge and the phone turned off but when I looked at my phone the red light came on and then blank screen with a battery sign with a red line through it.
I got some advice to take out battery, sim card and memory card. Which I did and my BB turned back on. However my battery was still dead so I put it back on charge and it turned off and since then my BB hasn't turned back in. I've left it on charge and nothing.
Would really appreciate it if someone could help me out on this.

I had a little issue with my Blackberry curve 8350i, but I think this might go with several models. One day my Blacberry updated an application and restarted, but when restarting suddenly I got a blank screen showing a battery sign with a red line. I took out the battery and put it in again, but no luck. I searched on many forums if anyone experienced the same as me. I found a lot of topics but no solution. I called tech support of my service provide and fortunatelly I talked to a tech guy who was willing to help. He said that this error message usually might appear when the battery is faulty, not original (not my case) or device is not working, but before taking a final statement he wanted me to try something first. He said to take out the battery, the SIM card and any extern memory card. Then to clean any contacts with air. I followed his instructions and after that the device worked again without any problems. I would like to share this experience on this forum maybe this will help other to to solve similar issues.

Is there are a way to delay the display of a page with iweb 08?

I have a page with a lot of content (SportsOutreachOnline.com -> Sports). The page takes a little while to load and look very unprofessional while doing it. It loads each piece and displays it piece of the website one at a time. I would like it to load like 70-90% of the way before displaying any content.
In other words, I would like the page to load most of the way before displaying itself. Is this possible to do with iweb 08?

Problem with iWeb 09, after the publication in a local file.

*Subject: problem with iWeb 09, after the publication in a local file, i can't see my blog, nor my photos, but before that all was working fine.*
After the publication in the local file, I see all my pages, but there is a mistake on the page "Blog" where I just can see the top of my page, it's cut and I can't see it entirely, so I can't see the inputs while I should see 3 news or 3 inputs. And it's the same for the "Photos" page where the page is cut, I can't see the photos, and it's just written : "Put the slide show and subscribe".To finish, when I want to activate the comments, it doesn't work neither.

The comments feature is only available when you publish to the MobileMe server, so I don't think you can use it when you publish to a local file.
