Chinese character don't work

hey guy, can anyone tell me how to solve this problem, ...i been using the chinese character to type in corel draw and skype and etc... it's work fine but it doesn't show up the charater when i type since i made the 1st save of my document....i encounter this problem before this and i have to reformat my emac. can anyone help how to restoring the previous system that before saving the document? appreciated for any prompt reply
emac   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

it doesn't show up the charater when i type
since i made the 1st save of my document.
It's hard to tell what you are talking about exactly, but when you save a document with Chinese in it you need to make sure the encoding will support Chinese, like Big5, GB, or Unicode. If you save it as Latin 1 it won't work.

  • Shortcuts of the 'Character Panel' don't work correctly!!

    Hi !
    I found that those shortcuts of the 'Character Panel' don't work correctly in Photoshop CC.
    For example :
    Press [cmd(ctrl)+ shift + >]
    →Increse or decrease the font-size with a step of 33.74px every time I press the shortcut.
    Previous version of Photoshop just changes the font-size with a step of 2px.
    The same problem occurs while using the shortcuts to control tracking or leading etc... Obviously the 'step' is not correctly.This could be a critical problem for me.
    Aonther problem is if you try to set the font-size to 100,it will say this 'A value between 0.01 pixel and 1296.00 Pixels is required.'
    All things goes crazy.. Anyone facing the same problem?

    Between this and the "more than 6 lines of text screws up a Photoshop PDF" bug, CS6 is practiaclly usless for any project using type.

  • Special character short cuts don't work anymore

    I have no clue what happened, what I may have done, or if something was installed that made the change, but short cut keystrokes don't work anymore for creating special characters (e.g. "option - (dash) and option shift - (dash) to create an mdash and ndash respectively). I've tried restoring defaults under keyboard shortcuts (sys pref > keyboard) and have Full Keyboard Access set to all controls, but nothing's changed.
    I've also scoured Google for the past half hour and have not been able to find anything. Any clues as to what's going on?

    I also tried rechecking Unicode Hex Input and the keyboard shortcuts still worked. So it looks like you need to have U.S. Extended checked to support keyboard shortcuts for things like – (mdash) and — (ndash).
    I don't think that should be necessary. Either US or US Extended should work fine on its own.
    In system prefs/language & text/input sources, check the box for Show Input Menu in Finder. That way you will know for sure what keyboard is active via the "flag" menu at the top right. Accidentally switching to Unicode Hex (which can be done via a keyboard shortcut) will disable your Option key for special characters (which is why I asked you to make sure only US was checked).

  • Display Chinese Character jsp page  by using UTF-8

    hi all,

    can I use UTF-8 to display my jsp page, which have Chinese Character in there?Thank you!

    Hi Niklas
    thank you for the suggestion. somebody told me UTF-8 suppose work, only if you typing your Chiness character in UTF-8 formate, i don't know that is true or not, but that realy a challenge for me, I using jdbc , some time ago, and then stop, and on that period,if I got free time, I did try to learn some tutorials on struct, hibernate, like http://javaboutique.internet.com/tutorials/Struts/; http://courses.coreservlets.com/Course-Materials/struts.html
    recently I need to deal with some online form , first I want to use struct, but I keep got forwad problem, I forget the detail error message, and found not place to ask questions, so , I pick jdbc again, so ,if you have some useful link in struct or a nice community for people to learn struct, I am look forward to
    know that,
    by the way I set *<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=big5" /> in my jsp*
    String dbURL="jdbc:mysql://localhost/survey?useBig5=true&characterEncoding=Big5"; in jdbc
    keep UTF-8 setting in mysql, it looks solute the problem that I had, hope that can enhabce our knowledge in that
    thank you for the help and wish good luck for future.

  • How can I display Chinese Character correctly in JSP

    <p>Dear Expert,</p><p>Now I develop web application which using CR report, the development tool is IBM RAD(rational) and the database is DB2 UTF-8. Because need user to input something in JSP, so the programmer use "GB2312" to convert to insert into the database. But when I create the crystal report and view in the web, the Chinese character can&#39;t disply correctly, like "???????", even I formated the font in report, doesn&#39;t work too.</p><p>And I set the report JSP charset to "GB2312" or "UTF-8", both of them failed. • Chinese Character display issue on Coldfusion 10

    My Company using Coldfusion to built an report platform and recently I upgrade our Coldfusion 7MX with Windows Server 2003 to Coldfusion 10 Enterprise with Windosw Server 2008 R2.
    I copy the Code from the Old server to the new one, but I met the problem I couldn’t solve.
    We have a repost that can enter, modify and view our SRM that has Chinese Character display request. Chinese character was display without problem when the system in the old server. which look like following.
    once I move the code into the new server, I got the problem with Chinese Character as following.
    This report pulling the data from SQL2005 with Windows Server 2003 R2.
    Coldfusion code code was same and both version is access to the same database.
    I ran all of the update included to install the windows MUI for Chinese character into the new server,  but I still can't get the character display correctly.
    I can view the chinese character website without issue but only to display in the report.
    I contact with Microsoft tech support but they don't have an solution for me. please help.

    Install windows server language pack:  http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=12250
    Are you sure the Chinese is encoded in UTF-8?  (It should be, but you should check the database field type encoding.)  If it's simplified chinese it could be set to GB18030 and if it's traditional chinese it could be Big5.
    You might want to leave off the encoding directive in CF and load the page in a browser then change encodings using tools > encodings  to see what works.

  • Display chinese character HTML in iPS3sp3

    Hi there,
    I am using iPS3sp3 and I modified it so that JSP can display chinese character correctly. But somehow I still can not display the chinese character in normal HTML.For instance, I put chinese character in Ldap.properties file but when user go to the Ldap login screen, the chinese can not be displayed correctly. The following is the modification I have done and can anybody please give me some help?
    adding zh_TW in iwtPlatform-availableLocales
    adding zh_TW in iwtPlatform-locale
    adding BIG5 in iwtPlatform-HTMLcharset
    adding ips.locale=en_US,zh_TW,zh_TW.BIG5 in platform.conf file
    Setting, User's Default Locale: zh_TW
    Setting, User's Default HTML charset: BIG5

    Finally, I made it work. The solution is pretty straight forward. All I need to do is to convert these kind of html file to utf8 encoded files and then, it works perfectly. Hope this might be useful for some people.

  • Why are there chinese character fonts overwriting my fonts?

    At the bottom of my font list are a bunch of Chinese character fonts. The list seems to grow over time (it's gotten a lot larger lately).  When I select most of these fonts they work and display as standard alphabet characters but I don't use them. How do I delete these? I'm trying to clean up all my fonts and I hate these.
    Note: in the Library files (mac OSX) these fonts do not show up as Chinese charters, they display as standard font names. So I have no way of knowing the name of the font, so I can't find it and delete it.
    Help?

    "I have no way of knowing the name of the font" : Try Illustrator/Preferences/Type and check Show Font Names in English.

  • Problem with chinese character for dot matrix epson LQ-1600K III

    Hi All,
    I really runs out of idea about my problem now. The problem is about Print Chinese character to dot matrix printer (Epson LQ-1600K III). I tried to so many device type to solve this issue, looks like the only device type can be use are CNSAPWIN and CNEPSON with CNSONG font type. The others if I print to the printer, the chinese character became # (although in the print preview it`s okay and display correctly).
    Here is the bottleneck if I use CNEPSON:
    - if I have 2 window at the left and right position, if the left window has chinese character, the right window automatically shift right about 1.5 CM, which is damn weird!!! Can somebody help me
    - I tried so many ways to adjust the line size for my detail window (to cater positioning at pre-printed boxes), but looks the font size always become 10pt and line size cannot be adjustable (based on smartstyle).BUT if I used device type epescp2, it can be done!
    Here is the bottleneck if I use CNSAPWIN:
    - I need to create format type in windows and SAP (SPAD). and every PC that use this printer, must define the Paper size ( China Special paper size 12inch)
    - I also think this is not a good idea because as I far as I know this is not the correct way..
    Therefore, if somebody has experience about printer chinese character to dot matrix for Smartform and sapscript..please kindly help me give some advice.
    Do I use the wrong device type?
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Willy

    Hi friends , we are using the same model ....
    Are you using the chinese version operation system ? because we can print the chinese charaters without problem in LQ 1600KIII .....
    We are using CNSAPWIN device type + Frondend printing access method ....

  • GUI Download Chinese Character to Excel gibberish character

    Hi Experts,
    I'm facing a problem where I'm using FM gui_download to save Chinese Character into Excel file.
    Upon double click to open the excel file, funny character shows up.
    But if I were to open the same file using a blank Ms Excel application (Go to File->Open->choose file),
    Excel will prompt me to select a proper encoding (GB2312 in this case), and the Chinese character can be seen thereafter.
    But, my user doesn't want to go through this.

    Hi Nitesh,
    Is there a way to check the Excel codepage? Do you mean by codepage = 936 for GB2312 encoding?
    Anyway, this issue is fixed. Issue is related to unicode system.
    Below codes for gui_download solved the problem.
    CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_DOWNLOAD'
        EXPORTING
          filename                = p_file
          filetype                = 'DAT'
          codepage                = '4103'

          write_bom               = 'X'
        TABLES
          data_tab                = i_data_cnvr
          fieldnames              = i_data_head
    Codepage = 4103 for utf-16 Unicode system.
    Write-bom = 'X' to write Byte-Order-Mark.

  • Some of Chinese character is not displaying correctly in PDF output

    Hi all
    I'm involved in the 1st Peoplesoft project in Korea and having a difficulty with displaying Chinese character in PDF output.
    Usually Koreans can translate their name in Chinese and that Chinese name is displayed in personal information in their company as well as Korean name.
    With Oracle BI Publisher I made rtf template that includes employees' Chinese name and tried to export to PDF output.
    Most of Chinese character was fine but '李' character that was ok in HTM output was crashed in PDF output.
    So I researched and tested some solutions.
    Here's what I did.
    I downloaded and installed five fonts(ALBANWTS.ttf, ALBANWTT.ttf, ALBANWT.ttf, ALBANWTK.ttf, ALBANWTJ.ttf) in client machine(c:\windows\fonts\) and did mapping job with xdo.cfg configuration file.
    After that I previewed PDF output in the rtf template and checked embeded fonts in the PDF file.
    I can see the newly installed font was embeded but still '李' character is crashed.
    My problem is little bit different from others becuase only one Chinese character is crashed by for now.
    The Chinese character '李' is very common last name in Korea and I believe Simplified Chinese character font have in it.
    Please let me know if you have any solutions or experiance.
    Thanks and best regards
    Kwangbock.

    Hi James
    Oh~ It perfectly works!!
    I've been tried to solve this problem for a long time and
    I really appreciate for your help~

    Are you sure that you have set it on the response? You do not need to set it on the request. Have you read the article? Do you understand the world of characters? It look like you still don't understand it.
    by the way, since csv is text file , how can I bold my University number??? in sb = new StringBuffer();
    sb.append("University Number");Not possible with CSV since it is text/plain. Use real XLS if you want to add formatting to cells.
