  • Chinese character issue in BSP input text

    Hi Experts,
    We are using chinese characters for some text fields in BSP.
    That characters are displayed correctly in the BSP screen. But the same is converted as numbers and special character in backend and stored in the database table.
    When analyse this issue, got the information as the HTML is using Universal Character Set(UCS) code page and it converts all the special (Asian language ) characters to number format.
    Since this text is used for report output in ABAP this number format again needs to be converted from UCS format to exact input format.
    If you have solution like conversion method or already faced
    this  problem kindly share it.
    Thanks,

    Hi Raja,
    Can you please help on this problem. I want to know whether there is any funciton module to convert the univercel character set code (HTML Codepage) page to SAP codepage. We are going to use ECC 6.0 which is unicode system for background R/3. So we can get the correct character format if identify the correct conversion method.
    Please let me know if any information and expect some information on this.

  • Chinese Character Issue during  emailing

    Hi,
    I am having an issue with Chinese characters. Chinese characters in email are getting converted to u2018#u2019.
    I am tried this option via both function module SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 and by using class CL_BCS. In both the case it is not working. I am not using smartforms/sapscripts, I am passing plain text in body of email.
    I have seen lot of post in SDN and tried the same options but it is still not working.
    Please help..

    Hi,
    do you send within SAP or to outside internet address?
    If it works within the system and does not work to outside, it must be something wrong with server unicode config.

  • Chinese character issues in v 9.0

    I need some help please. I am using AI 9.0 and Photoshop 5.5 (yes, it's ancient, it still does the job) on a Windows based system.
    I need to do some design work in AI using Chinese Traditional fonts. The font I want is SimSun, and it does show up in the font list in AI. I can see, copy and paste the fonts in every program I've got - except my Adobe products, where - naturally - I need it. I'm not typing this up myself, I'm just trying to copy a pre-existing document (the text) into an AI design, and the document has the SimSun font.
    I read somewhere else that I should be able to copy the text from Word into Photoshop and from there into AI, but #1 this doesn't work, and #2 that seems unnecessarily difficult.
    I'd really appreciate someone steering me in the right direction here - I'm not sure what I haven't tried yet, and I'm getting frustrated.

    For many years, Illustrator lagged behind other Adobe applications -- yes, even Photoshop -- in Unicode and IME support. I'd say AI Unicode support wasn't really there until version 12 (CS2).
    The set-type-via-Photoshop workaround is well known among CJK users. I stumbled on it myself a long time ago and have used it successfully many times, although I cannot begin to tell you why it works. At this point, though, I just don't know which versions of Illustrator and Photoshop can be used to pull it off.
    The oldest version of Photoshop I have on a system of mine is 7, and I have AI versions 8, 10, and 12 on the same system. The workaround (pasting CJK type into PS 7, then re-copying and pasting into AI) is a no-go for AI 8, A-OK for AI 10, and unnecessary for AI 12. As you can see, your versions just might be too old.
    I didn't have SimSun, but I did try a few of my CJK Unicode fonts with identical results.
    You might try a different font. You might also try workaround #2, wherein you substitute InDesign for Photoshop in the process.
    In the end, you might just have to admit "ancient but does the job" no longer cuts it for you.

  • Chinese Character display issue on Coldfusion 10

    My Company using Coldfusion to built an report platform and recently I upgrade our Coldfusion 7MX with Windows Server 2003 to Coldfusion 10 Enterprise with Windosw Server 2008 R2.
    I copy the Code from the Old server to the new one, but I met the problem I couldn’t solve.
    We have a repost that can enter, modify and view our SRM that has Chinese Character display request. Chinese character was display without problem when the system in the old server. which look like following.
    once I move the code into the new server, I got the problem with Chinese Character as following.
    This report pulling the data from SQL2005 with Windows Server 2003 R2.
    Coldfusion code code was same and both version is access to the same database.
    I ran all of the update included to install the windows MUI for Chinese character into the new server,  but I still can't get the character display correctly.
    I can view the chinese character website without issue but only to display in the report.
    I contact with Microsoft tech support but they don't have an solution for me. please help.

    Install windows server language pack:  http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=12250
    Are you sure the Chinese is encoded in UTF-8?  (It should be, but you should check the database field type encoding.)  If it's simplified chinese it could be set to GB18030 and if it's traditional chinese it could be Big5.
    You might want to leave off the encoding directive in CF and load the page in a browser then change encodings using tools > encodings  to see what works.

  • Problem with chinese character for dot matrix epson LQ-1600K III

    Hi All,
    I really runs out of idea about my problem now. The problem is about Print Chinese character to dot matrix printer (Epson LQ-1600K III). I tried to so many device type to solve this issue, looks like the only device type can be use are CNSAPWIN and CNEPSON with CNSONG font type. The others if I print to the printer, the chinese character became # (although in the print preview it`s okay and display correctly).
    Here is the bottleneck if I use CNEPSON:
    - if I have 2 window at the left and right position, if the left window has chinese character, the right window automatically shift right about 1.5 CM, which is damn weird!!! Can somebody help me
    - I tried so many ways to adjust the line size for my detail window (to cater positioning at pre-printed boxes), but looks the font size always become 10pt and line size cannot be adjustable (based on smartstyle).BUT if I used device type epescp2, it can be done!
    Here is the bottleneck if I use CNSAPWIN:
    - I need to create format type in windows and SAP (SPAD). and every PC that use this printer, must define the Paper size ( China Special paper size 12inch)
    - I also think this is not a good idea because as I far as I know this is not the correct way..
    Therefore, if somebody has experience about printer chinese character to dot matrix for Smartform and sapscript..please kindly help me give some advice.
    Do I use the wrong device type?
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Willy

    Hi friends , we are using the same model ....
    Are you using the chinese version operation system ? because we can print the chinese charaters without problem in LQ 1600KIII .....
    We are using CNSAPWIN device type + Frondend printing access method ....

  • GUI Download Chinese Character to Excel gibberish character

    Hi Experts,
    I'm facing a problem where I'm using FM gui_download to save Chinese Character into Excel file.
    Upon double click to open the excel file, funny character shows up.
    But if I were to open the same file using a blank Ms Excel application (Go to File->Open->choose file),
    Excel will prompt me to select a proper encoding (GB2312 in this case), and the Chinese character can be seen thereafter.
    But, my user doesn't want to go through this.
    I've browsed through the forum and someone has posted about this before and it's unanswered.
    How to download the chinese character using GUI_DOWNLOAD - unanswered

    Hi Nitesh,
    Is there a way to check the Excel codepage? Do you mean by codepage = 936 for GB2312 encoding?
    Anyway, this issue is fixed. Issue is related to unicode system.
    Below codes for gui_download solved the problem.
    CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_DOWNLOAD'
        EXPORTING
          filename                = p_file
          filetype                = 'DAT'
          codepage                = '4103'

          write_field_separator   = 'X'
          write_bom               = 'X'
        TABLES
          data_tab                = i_data_cnvr
          fieldnames              = i_data_head
    Codepage = 4103 for utf-16 Unicode system.
    Write-bom = 'X' to write Byte-Order-Mark.

  • Chinese Character in PDF format for Oracle Reports 11g

    Hello Everyone,
    Currently we have a Report that need to be display chinese character in PDF format.
    We followed the steps specified in the "Oralce Fusion Middleware Publishing Reports to the Web with Oracle Reports Services"
    documentation but things doesn't work. We also installed Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 and Asian Font Pack 9 on the server side
    and even on the client/user/development side and followed the steps in the documentation, but no effect at all. Or we even
    tried "Arial Unicode MS", same thing no effect.
    For sure, we may miss something during PDF aliasing or PDF subsetting setup.
    Anyone out there who has the same experience and able to resolve the issue that currently using the Oralce Fusion Middleware Reports 11g?
    Doesn't matter if it does not related to chinese character, as long as it relates to this issue like japanese or arabic characters in PDF.
    If its ok, kindly provide the steps how you do it.
    Your help is highly appreciated.
    Regards and Thank you very much!

    I am now facing exactly the same problem as user449955 (Eric's). Dear Eric, how about your situation? If you have resolved this problem, may I ask for your solution?
    In my case, using either font aliasing or font subsetting doesn't work at all (displaying "garbage" characters instead of Chinese characters). The setting in my uifont.ali is as follows:
    If using font aliasing:
    [PDF]
    .....ZHT16HKSCS = "MSungStd-Light-Acro"
    If using font subsetting (the REPORTS_PATH already includes "C:\Windows\Fonts"):
    [PDF:Subset]
    "Courier New" = "mingliu.ttc,2"
    For both cases, the report server's NLS_LANG already set to "TRADITIONAL CHINESE_HONG KONG.ZHT16HKSCS" (I am in fact located at Hong Kong). For font aliasing, the client side already has Asian Adobe Reader with Asian font pack installed.
    By the way, I noticed that the WebLogic EM is configuring/updating the uifont.ali file at "<instance home>\config\FRComponent\frcommon\tools\common" directory, but the Oracle Reports 11g's documentation sometimes advise to refer to another uifont.ali file located at "<instance home>\config\FRComponent\frcommon\guicommon\tk\admin" directory. Which one of the uifont.ali files is the one used by the Oracle Reporting Service?
    My report server's platform is Windows 7 Enterprise (64-bit) and the Reports version is 11.1.1.3.
    Anyone can help to advise?
    Thank you very much.
    Regards

  • Chinese character overlap in PDF file

    Hi guyz,
    I am working on the issue on Chinese character overlap in PDF file.
    There is smartform which is being used to generate ePaySlip(Comes in email) in PDF file format which contains Chinese and English both characters.
    Now the issue is that at the bottom of the ePaySlip there is a Remark section which is maintained in Chinese and English both. However, the English sentences are proper withour any problem whereas the same thing in Chinese is showing as distorted/overlapped in few words.
    Can anyone suggest what could be the cause and suggest some solution.
    As when I checked in smartform those characters are hard coded and Chinese characters are shown as ###.
    Please response, I would be really grateful.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Mini

    Hi,
    there a different things to know.
    I produce sapscript forms with cinese and english characters for frontend / backend and archiv printing.
    Please check:
    Editor displays ###: You have to install the chinese language in your e.g. windows-system to display them.
    Script: You have to chose the the font family "CNSONG" (customized for chinese simplified and LATIN).
    Transaction I18N: May you have to set correct subfonts for the unicode areas (Cascading fonts, Standard is Courier).
    You can print in different ways:
    For archiv/PDF: Install the unicode truetype font with chinese characters for the pdf-converter.
    For Frontend: Use the Frontendprinter SAPWIN or SAPWIN*CF (Cascading Font) to send it to the gui (note: SAPLPD does not support it, use the newer technology.....)
    Backend printing: POSTSCRIPT is not yet implemented :-((
    PLease note: What you see in spool / print preview is a simulation of the possible print, but backend print is not frontend preview!!!!

    Christian

  • Display chinese character

    I have a java application with read string from IE browser through JNI interface.
    The issue is the String i got, which is "\u963f\u5f1f\u4ed4" can't be display in Chinese directly.
    I do following convetion, it doesn't work.
    byte[] sb=link.getBytes();
    String Zhongwen=new String(sb, "GB2312");
    But if I define a this String in my application, it works.
    String link = "\u963f\u5f1f\u4ed4";
    I bet Java treats first case as a buch of seperate characters since if I build
    a String as "\\u" + "963f", I can't get chinese character.
    So it is looks I can only use the parseInt(..) method on the Integer class and casting the result to a char.
    try
    char p = (char)Integer.parseInt(x, 16);
    System.out.println(p);
    catch(Exception e)
    System.out.println(e);
    Does antbody have another solution?

    The most probable source of error is character encoding conversion...most likely from the IE browser to the Java environment. Do you have a way to find out what encoding is used in the browser? IE will transfer form data back to the server in either UTF-8 or the encoding of the original form.
    Transfer the data from IE correctly, and you will be able to display the characters without further problem.

  • Wrong Chinese character

    In my Nokia 5800, v21.0.101, the Chinese character "福" is wrongly displayed in the traditional Chinese character format.  The same word should be identical with the simplified Chinese character format, which is correctly displayed in the same handset.
    A lot of Chinese folks treasure their culture a lot, and such a mistake may not be tolerable to them.
