  • Chinese characters in PDF download of SAPscript

    Hi Friends,
    I'm facing an issue while downloading SAPscript output in PDF format. The chinese characters fetched from the SAP tables appear as '#' or some junk value whereas the values hardcoded in script with appropriate character formats appear absolutely fine in PDF. The values fetched from table appear fine when output is taken as normal SAPscript output.
    Can someone help me out in this regard. Helpful answers will be rewarded points.
    Thanks,
    Jaison

    CNSONG should work, I use that with Chinese PDFs.
    You're using CNPDF so that isn't the problem.
    You're Unicode which eliminates a host of other possibilities.
    And the characters print fine with non-PDF SAPScripts...
    I'm running out of ideas. It sounds like you've done everything you need to.
    What method are you using to convert this SAPScript to PDF form? CNPDF Printer, a Function Module, something else? If a FM, which one are you using?
    Could it be your Adobe Reader? Does it have the chinese language fonts loaded?

  • Why do I see Chinese Characters in my download window?

    I downloaded an album and I saw that this was being downloaded.  Any ideas what it is?  I stopped the download.

    To rename your Apple TV, please follow these steps:
    Go to "Settings"
    Select "General"
    Scroll down to "Name"
    You can choose their pre-set names, or set your own by going to "Custom..."
    Type in the name you desire with the keyboard, and click submit
    If that doesn't do it I would try restarting your Wireless router & devices on wi-fi network starting with any computers first.

  • Arabic and Chinese characters are showing ??? in PDF

    Hi
    I hava an application which calls BI publisher API to generate PDF file from rtf temlate and xml input. It is fine for English contents. But the Arabic or Chinese characters are showing ??? in PDF. If I use BI publisher Desktop to load the xml and generate pdf file, it shows correct Arabic/Chinese Characters in PDF. I also copied ALBANWTJ.ttf file to my application JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/fonts/ folder. But it still doesn't work. Anyone can help me with this?
    Thanks a lot!

    I created xdo.cfg and put it in my JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ folder. the file is configured as below:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <config version="1.0.0" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/config/">
    <properties>
    <property name="system-temp-dir">/tmp</property>
    </properties>
    <fonts>
    <font family="Default" style="normal" weight="normal">
    <truetype path="/fonts/ALBANWTJ.ttf"/>
    </font>
    </fonts>
    </config>
    But now I'm getting this error while generating pdf file:
    Adobe Reader could not open 'xxx.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
    Is there anything wrong in my xdo.cfg?
    Thanks!

  • GUI Download Issue with Chinese characters

    Hello,
    Currently we are upgrading from 4.7 to ECC. I'm using GUI_DOWNLOAD

    In 4.7 the Chinese characters are being downloaded (I haven't used any

    Is there any change in the GUI_UPLOAD FM.

    Hi bharat,
    please check whether you ecc 6.0 is uni coded or not (as you upgraded).
    If it is not uni coded then you will not be able to print the Chinese characters.
    You can see whether it is uni coded or not by the following
    in your app toolbar under system click on status.
    There you can see whether your ecc6.0 is uni coded or not.

  • Chinese Characters in Spool converted to Junk characters in PDF

    Hi,
    I have spool generated from Script , the Spool shows me Chinese Characters.When I am trying to convert the Spool to PDF using Program RSTXPDFT4 , the PDF contains Junk Characters instead of Chinese Characters.Please let me know how to get the correct Chinese Characters in PDF.
    Regards,
    Swathi

    Hi,
    For the spool you try to convert to PDF, which device type was this spool created by. It must be created via a Chinese device type like e.g. CNSAPWIN. The form used to create the spool must have language key ZH. The fonts used in the form for the Chinese characters must be a Chinese font like CNSONG or CNHEI.
    Alternatively, if you create the spool via Unicode deviec type SWINCF, then the font and the form language are not important. It should work to convert the spool to PDF regardless of the language ley or font used in the form.

  • How to generate reports 10g in chinese characters pdf/html (10g)

    Hi,
    we have installed Oracle AS 10g (9.0.4.1) on an windows 2000 server.
    The nls_lang=American_america.UTF8
    the database server 10g with characterset utf8
    The chinese font used is the simsun (simsun.ttf) semplified chinese.
    We have no problem with the forms and the database (we have prompt in chinese and we store data in chinese and we view the forms with the jnitiator.
    Our problem are the reports: we can't view chinese characters in pdf reports or html
    We have readen a lot of topics (very confused..) and we have tryed a lot of solutions but without success.
    In particolar, the last:
    in the uifont.ali under the pdf subset section we have mapped the simsun font with the file arialuni.ttf
    simsun="arialuni.ttf"
    We have installed the arial unicode ms (arialuni.ttf) on the server and also on the client.
    we have put the file arialuni.ttf also in a directory of the report path.
    But it doesn't work.
    What can we do ?
    Regards

    I agree with Phillip. Looks li ke you've got everything else setup properly, but you should use a Unicode font in your report instead of simsun. If you really want to use Simsun, then change your report server NLS parameter to use something like NLS_LANG=SIMPLIFIED CHINESE_CHINA.ZHS16GBK or even NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHS16GBK, and remove the reference to arialuni.ttf. By making your report server use UTF8, it requires that you use a Unicode font. If you change your NLS to a Chinese character set, sqlnet will do the conversion for you automatically and transparently, and you can use simsun
    The subset feature is what allows you to see the PDF properly on machines that don't already have the font installed. If your target users are internal and you can control them, or external and all likely to have the font already, you don't need the subsetting at all.

  • Can't cut and paste chinese characters

    I've always been able to copy chinese characters from pdfs and other documents and paste them into word or powerpoint or wenlin etc.  Suddenly the characters do not copy and paste.  I get little boxes or other dingbats.  I tried changing the font etc. but nothing works.  Is this due to an update on the OS?  How do I solve it?
    Thanks

    PDF format is very different from most other docs, in that you cannot rely on copy/paste for non-Latin scripts.  Try Adobe Reader instead of Preview (or Vice Versa) or try different pdfs.  Send me an example of one that does not work if you like (tom at bluesky dot org).
    What other format doc is not working for chinese copy/paste for you?

  • Chinese characters copying incorrectly when saving pdfs with Preview

    So this is a very strange problem. When I save a .pdf that I have annotated in Preview, it saves fine and everything continues to display correctly. However, if I then try to copy Chinese characters from the pdf, it pastes gibberish. F'rex:
    灿烂辉煌 becomes "3456"
    and
    遇到的问题 becomes " !"
    Does anyone know what is going on and how to deal with it?

    The strange part is that initially the Chinese characters copy fine. It's only after I save the .pdf that copying goes all wonky.
    I think there is a bug related to annotation.
    Is there any way to control what encoding Preview uses when saving?
    No. PDF is the worst possible format to use for any kind of editing.
    Have you tried Adobe Reader? Or Skim?
    http://skim-app.sourceforge.net/
    Preview is not always the best option.

  • PDF from Word 2007 ends up with scrambled Chinese characters

    I have a problem with PDF files when converted from a Word 2007 document that includes Traditional Chinese characters and I hope someone might be able to help or point me in the right direction. After converting it to PDF via "Create PDF" from the Acrobat toolbar, the Chinese characters are all wrong. It looks like Chinese but none of the characters actually exist, it's all scrambled and useless. Converting English or German text works fine, so far, it's only the Traditional Chinese text that causes problems.
    The strange thing is that prior to installing Office 2007, all worked just fine. I could convert Chinese text from Word 2003 without any problems and other than updating to Word 2007, nothing has changed. Any idea where to start trouble shooting and how to fix it? I've already tried re-installing and reparing both Word and Acrobat but no improvement.
    OS: WinXP Professional SP3 (English system)
    Adobe: Master Collection CS4 (English)
    Acrobat: Acrobat 9 Pro v9.1.3 (English)
    PDF Maker: Conversion Settings are set to default "Smallest File Size Web"
    Word: Microsoft Office Word 2007 (12.0.6504.5000) SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000)
    Note: Using "Save As" and select "PDF or XPS" in Word 2007 works fine, the Chinese characters show up properly in the PDF file but I prefer using the PDF Maker from Acrobat to create my PDF files.

    I have found that WORD 2007, particularly with docx files, does some strange things to PDF files that you produce. It seems to break a perfectly good graphic into parts and send the parts to the PDF (not usually a problem unless you zoom in). We have tested with AA8 and AA7 with WORD 2007 and gotten these results. WORD 2003 worked like expected. It is almost as though MS decided to put some hooks in OFFICE 2007 for Acrobat. Normally with Acrobat, the graphics come out as a single graphic as stored in the application.
    Glad you got the character issue to work. I use a job.settings file that is distributed by a publisher to get an "optimized" form of product for posting. Of course, optimized is always in the eye of the beholder, but I have been happy with it.

  • Exporting InDesign files to PDF containing Chinese characters

    When I export a file from Adobe InDesign to PDF that contains Chinese characters, some of the Chineset text in the resultant PDF appears heavy and blotchy, like it has had a very heavy stroke applied to it, even though the text is perfectly OK in the source InDesign file and when printed out from the PDF.
    As a lot of Chinese reader will view and read this document online, I need to find a solution, can anyone help me?

    Below is a screenshot of one of the effected pages
    As you can see, some of the Chinese characters appear all heavy and blotch, whilst others are OK.
    There is no leading on any of the text and it is perfectly OK when viewed in the Adobe InDesign file.
