  • Sending Chinese email uisng FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1

    Hi Experts,
I attempt to send chinese language character using chinese logon using the above function module in 4.6C hotpack 50.
The chinese character are in the content_txt table of the FM and for the rest of the table for this function module, I had set the language to sy-langu where ever possible.
But when the email is received, it's still not display in chinese language.
    Anybody can advice?
    Thanks.

    Hey Darren,
This sound interesting. I didn't do this.
Anyway.. I am just sending a normal mail out and not touching or retrieving anything via NAST table. Is this statement still required? Where should I put this statement?
Just more details, my program is suppose to upload a text field, break it into multiple emails to send to supplier based on the PIR for the material number. There's not retrieval via NAST nor anything related to PO.
    Thanks.

  • Setting up email on 8320

I just got my 8320 in the mail yesterday.  Everything is working great except my email.   I do not have a business address, just my personal AOL emails. In the instruction book, it says that I should select "I want to create or add an email address" when I get to the Email Setup screen of the Setup Wizard. However, the only two options that appear on this screen are "I want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server" and "I want to skip email setup". How do I add my AOL addresses? Thanks!
ETA: I do have the $30/month data plan in place, and I can easily access the browser.  I use AT&T and I tried to set up the account on their website last night and it didn't work.

Can try going to Options | Advanced Options | Host Routing Table. Hit the menu button and choose Register Now. See if you get a registration message sent to your  device. If so reset your device by removing the battery for 30 seconds. Afterwarads see if you have the choice to setup a personal email account, or a seperate personal email setup icon to go into.
Alternativley you can try going to your carrier's BIS website on your computer and setup your email accounts

Hi - my husband has same problem (we are in UK) and has received same Chinese email with 100 Euros been credited to the account.  Our bank has called us to query the credit card transaction and we have cancelled it as it wasn't requested.  Also he can't now log in to his Skype account, and attempts to get a new password have failed to get him back into his account.  Have you or anyone else made progress?

  • Email chinese font display

I sync my iPhone's Mail with my gmail.
But emails sent to me in chinese normally cannot be displayed properly, seems like iphone doesn't support the font.
While chinese emails i forwarded out, which can exactly being viewed nicely with my Mail apps, the other recipient cannot get the emails in proper display (via normal computer email manager, such as outlook, etc).
I guess this may caused by the font coding incompatibility from Mail apps.
    Any idea to solve this?
    Thanks for your time!

There's no way to manually change the encoding on iphone Mail for either incomings or outgoings, and that is most likely the problem. You might try changing your OS to Chinese, if it is not in that already, and see if that improves anything. Sometimes this will change the default encoding from Unicode UTF-8 to one of the legacy Chinese encodings.
Send me a test message if you like and I will check the encoding being used (tom at bluesky dot org).

  • Apple Mail cannot encoding issues (Chinese Asian Language)

I've abandon Mail for almost 2 years, 2 issues I had before is the 'disappearing mail' and the encoding problem.
Now with my new MBP 17" I decided to use Mail again. I am getting the encoding problem again.
    Things I tried already:
    1. set the default encoding using Terminal to "BIG5"
    2. check under 'Composing' preference for 'Plain Text', uncheck 'use the same message format as the original message'
    3. Tried manually setting the encoding before sending. But in few instance Apple Mail tells me that there is an Error and cannot change the encoding. Even I succeeded in changing the encoding, there is no guarantee that the other side can read it properly.
This usually happens when I 'reply' or 'forward' a Chinese email to someone. So far it happens to the HTML type email.
Still I am getting problem sending mail that Outlook can properly decode by itself. To fix this from the Oulook side, they need to open the message by double click, select encoding for the message, and pick either UTF-8 or BIG5 (if the message is BIG5, select UTF-8 and vise versa) then the message will display properly.
I know this could be an Outlook problem (probably is) but I cannot tell my customer to change encoding each time. I really need a way to do this from the Apple Mail side.
The following is just one example of HTML email I replied and turns out to be BIG-5 under Outlook, but user need to select UTF-8 to view it.

Hi xxxx...... (body of the message)
I need help here, I still like the operation in Apple Mail but this is killing me. Please help.

Thanks but I tried these already. Didn't seem to work.
I switched to Thunderbird. Took a while to convert my mailboxes (30+ of them) from emlx to mbox and loaded into Thunderbird.
Thunderbird is ok, address book really ***** since it doesn't work with the OSX Address book at all. I had to use vcf2ldif to convert address book but the Chinese character in the Address Book all became ??? in Thunderbird. And the time it takes to convert 400+ address is long (I already filtered the address book from my 1000+ contact)
Font setting in Thunderbird is not good as well. Emails in my folders are in different fonts all the time due to the difference in encoding. I just need to get used to it.
If Apple Mail can just handle encoding better, I will never switch. Both my customer and my family are having same problem, (because we all read/send Chinese Traditional email) Apple should do something. Already send email regarding this to Apple, and if there are other people with the same problem as me, pleas let Apple know about this.

  • Can't show Chinese character

can type Chinese email but cannot display Chinese email when it receive.  any hints to fix it?
    thx!

Seems that you've multilingual operating syste on the device.
You receive emails with incorrect on with non-supported encoding.
If you receive emails via corporate Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) - ask the BES administrator to check this issue.
If you receive emais via your Wireless Provider - contact your wireless provider support.

  • Trad. Chinese in mail

This is kind of a question with a small audience (on this forum at least), so I'm not too optimistic about the results, but here goes:
I've discovered that when I use the Mail app to write traditional Chinese emails, all traditional Chinese characters (e.g., the ones that have a different simplified version, so 國 vs. 国 or 萬 vs. 万, but not say 中 which is the same in both) show up as boxes or question marks when I read the emails. If I type completely in simplified Chinese there's no problem, everything shows up correctly.
In other words, if I try to type this email:
    我現在在美國
    this will turn out as
    我?在在美?
Anyone else experienced this problem? (For what it's worth, if I type using say Gmail in Safari, there's no problem. It's only the Mail problem)

all traditional Chinese characters (e.g., the ones that have a different simplified version, so 國 vs. 国 or 萬 vs. 万, but not say 中 which is the same in both) show up as boxes or question marks when I read the emails.
What to you mean exactly by "read the emails"? On your Touch? Another machine somewhere using Mail?
Does it happen whether or not your User Interface is set to English or to TC?
Could you send me a test email like that (tom at bluesky dot org)? It sounds like it might be an encoding glitch. Have a look at the content-type header on a receiving machine (Mail > View > Message > Raw Source or Long Headers and see what the encoding is.

  • Language support bug with iphone 2.0 software?

With 2G iPhone running with 2.0 software, I have noticed the following.
When I have "Settings -> General -> International -> Language" set to English, the Chinese text sent in my emails becomes corrupted in the email body, and other non-iphone users cannot read my message contents.
The Chinese text in the email subject, however, looks fine, just not in the message body.
The work-around is to change the "Settings -> General -> International -> Language" setting to Chinese as well, and then send the email with Chinese text. That will work, but it's annoying when you do not want everything on your phone to show Chinese.
Is this a known bug and is there a fix?

Is this a known bug and is there a fix?
It could be that when the OS is set to English, Chinese email is sent in UTF-8 encoding, which is sometimes not supported at the other end. There is no way to change this on the iPhone I think. It can also happen in the ordinary OS X:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=121808&tstart=60
Send me a test message in Chinese with your OS set to English and I can confirm (tom at bluesky dot org).
