Chinese font issue

Does anyone has experience with Chinese font?
I wish to use Kai Ti font for the text and Hei Ti font for the title. In iBooks Author, it seems that I can choose Marker Felt and it will show Kai Ti. But when it is shown on iPad, I will see Kai Ti for a brief moment, then the font will be changed! Is there any safe font to use for Kai Ti and Hei Ti?
Here's what happened on iBooks Author and when shown in iBook.

Just discovered that Chinese font Kai Ti is there, but still need to be accessible via an English font (Marker Felt)?
Se the title. But it only seems to work in this case though - prove that Kai Ti is indeed in iPad itself.
A more likely explanation (since no list of fonts for iOS includes Kaiti) is that the Title has been transformed into an image during the publishing process.  But more research is needed.....

  • Chinese font issue on SAPGUI 6.40

    Hi All,
We have a problem here with SapGUI 6.40 runing on a Citrix Presentation Server on Windows Server 2003.
Chinese language pack is installed for the Operation System.
For some users, after opening more than 3 SAPGUI Windows, the chinese fonts become too small.
    Has anyone saw that ?
I am a Microsoft/Citrix person, not a SAP specialist. Need to know how SAPGUI handle the fonts. Does it use tha Operation System fonts , has it's own fonts for non ocidental languages ???
Any information about this will be fine !
    Thanks !!!
    Fernando

I've done some research, and maybe it's an operation system issue.
I don't know the patch level, or if the problem happens with 6.20, but in other servers (SAP DEV Servers), in the same condition, the problem does not happen.
Anyway, any help is welcome !
    Thanks !

  • Chinese font issues

I've got a multi-language presentation and Keynote is doing something totally bizarre with the Chinese font. Its changing random characters inside a block of text to something totally different. Anyone have experience with this?

My guess is that the font that is substituted down the line is made for traditional characters. When the document is imported Pages is unable to find the right characters in the traditional font and replaces them with characters from a simplified font.
The result is two different fonts in the same text.
To see which font is actually used, paste the text in TextEdit and open the font panel. Step through the text with the arrow keys, and you will most likely see it change at the strange characters.

  • Chinese font issue with Oracle 6i

    Hello all,
I am working on a Chinese report. when i open an existing RDF  in Report Builder 6.0.8.24.0 and save it with out modification the lables in chinese (labels) characters are corrupted i.e I only see inverted question marks for the labels when I run the application on the server however the Chinese data from the database is displaying correctly. My local machine where I have the report builder running is windows 7.
The NLS lang parameter on the server is set to AMERICAN_AMERICA.UTF8.
What kind of configuration is needed on my system in order to display the labels in Chinese. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thank You.
    Meg

Forms 6i connects to Oracle 9 databases just fine, even though it is no longer certified by Oracle.
First of all, can you connect to the database with SQL Plus? Make sure that works first.
The other thing that comes to mind is the AL32UTF8 character set. Forms 6i and other older Oracle software cannot connect to databases using it. But I have only seen that problem with Oracle 10g databases, so I am not sure about the Oracle 9 db.
Here is a thread discussing the problem: Re: connecting form 6i  to oracle database 10G express edition

  • Chinese Font Display Issues

    Dear Adobe Community,
I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS6, and using chinese characters for my text. I've been using "Xingkai SC" however strangely, some characters when typed will display correctly as "Xingkai SC" but others will not, and will automatically switch to "Adobe Heiti Std." I don't understand why this is happening, and would like to know the solution so that all characters appear as "Xingkai SC" instead of typing chinese and getting two fonts together in the same sentence. Here's a picture of this below. (a) As you can see the ( Left to right) 1rst and 3rd characters display "Xingkai SC" but the 2nd and 4th characters are displaying "Adobe Heiti Std."Also even when I highlight the text and manually try changing the text to "Xingkai SC" nothing happens, and everything remains the same. Also another quick question. When selecting fonts what does the "O" and "TT" mean? Hopefully can get the frustrating character issue resolved.

We use mostly English/Latin fonts so it's very hard to get someone who knows about Chinese fonts and Photoshop issues on a Mac.  However I can give you something to go on.
You have to consult Chinese design forums, here is one to try.
    http://bbs.blueidea.com/forum.php
TT = TrueType fonts  OT = Opentype fonts.  You will need to read up on those terms.
A suggestion for a good Chinese font to try. It may solve your problem:

  • Chinese font print issue

    Hi
I am printing statement of account in chinese font using T.code f.27. I can see chinese address in print preview. But i can not see chinese letters in Hard copy.
F.27 t.code calling driver program(zprog). If i print the samr using program no issue. I can see chinese letters in hard copy.
    Pls help me out.
    Regards
    Kumar

Since the chinese fonts are correctly printed using print prgram but not wih Tcode F.27
It seems that the sap script in chinese font is not getting executed.
Activate the sap script debugger, se 71 -> utilites -> activate debugger.
Then execute tcode F.27, check the language in which SAP script is called. I believe it would be English.
Most cases, sap scripts are called in the logon langauge / or based on the some condition.
Problem might reslolve if the sap script is called in chinese language.
    Reward if useful.

  • Chinese font characters disappearing in CS6

I need to redesign an InDesign file that is in Chinese and originally created in CS5. When I open the document in CS6 some characters disappear (no pink box). When I substitute the font with another Simplified Chinese font, some of the missing characters appear but then I lose other characters. Is this a CS6 issue? Any solutions?

Chinese fonts can vary dramatically in character count, whether simplified or traditional, but older simplified fonts are particularly small (GB vs. GBK, etc.): the ChineseMac site has a handy list showing character counts for a bunch of fonts.  And sometimes ID doesn't show a pink box, just a blank.
Differences can be really subtle.  Several years ago I worked on a job using Adobe Fangsong, if I recall correctly.  Some stuff disappeared on a colleague's machine, and it turned out he was using a version of the font bundled with an earlier version of InDesign and hadn't installed the revised font when upgrading ID.  (The older one lacked some of the vertical punctuation symbols I'd added to the files.)
    Good luck!

  • CONVERT_OTF Convert TO PDF the Chinese font bold is lost

    Dear All,
When I use CONVERT_OTF Convert TO PDF the Chinese font bold is lost, but use Print to PDF method, the Font Bold can be showed normal.
Also used these reports RSTXPDFT4, RSTXPDF2UC, it does not work.
How can I solve this issue?
    Many Thanks

    Hi,Aidan,
        Thanks,
Sorry, the option CJK_USE_BOLD_IT does not exist in report RSTXPDF3 when I run this report.
I found only CJK_SMALL_FONT such as u2018CJK*u2019 in my system.
Is there a way to add CJK_USE_BOLD_IT?
When I check RSTXPDF3,I found all the options are hard copy in RSTXPDF3 list by Constants.

  • Chinese font won't render in Android4.4/Air4.0 with StyleableTextField

Updating our app for the Latest Android 4.4/Air 4.0 SDK. Our app is localized for several languages, including Chinese.
Ther app renders Chinese fine on Android devices less than android version 4.4 compiled with Air SDK 4.0.
But on android ver. 4.4 with Air SDK 3.9 or SDK 4.0 only, chinese text will not render using StyleableTextField in our item renderers.
A regular spark Label WILL render the chinese font just fine with Android 4.4/SDK 3.9/4.0.
The android 4.4 device we have tested on is a Nexus 7. We are not using an embedded font for chinese.
On our Nexus 7, this problem *doesent* exist with Air SDK 3.7 used with Android 4.4, but does with Air SDK 3.9 or SDK4.0.
So it appears the problem started with Air 3.9.
I have included  screenshots for both cases to show what it looks like.
Thanks for any help getting it fixed so we can support the latest android 4.4 devices along with Air SDK 4.0 for our Chinese customers.

  • Omnes Regular font converted to Chinese font

    Hi there,
One of our users just contacted us with a weird issue. Below is his email:
"I've been having a weird issue that I've never come across before (I know, just a normal email from me).
After opening a file from another designer, this chinese font has taken over my "omnes – regular" font file. Anytime I use it, it converts to this font and each time I need to change a font weight, I must do it manually. As you can imagine, I use our company font all day so this slows me down quite a bit. Have you heard of this? It seems like some sort of font virus. I've researched removing it, yet can't seem to find the original font file to get rid of, which is even weirder."
We tried moving the font family to the trash, emptying the trash, rebooting the machine, and re-adding the font family and it still is happening. Do you have any idea how we can go about fixing this?
    Thank you!

Unfortunately, it didn't help. I couldn't find any fonts ending in MM.
Below are three screenshots of the process.
    1. Select "Omnes" as a typeface
    2. Select "Regular" as font weight
    3. This ???
    Thanks again!

  • Corrupted Japanese/Chinese fonts

    Hi,
I'm using Windows 8 Professional RTM (dreamspark) right now and I'm having trouble viewing japanese/chinese fonts.
    Fonts are showing like squares.
I've just noticed that when I copy/paste the folder name, it shows perfectly!
When I was having the same problem on Windows 7, I've deleted the file FNTCACHE.DAT because it was corrupted. After a restart, everything was ok again.
Not working on Windows 8, I have to login, logoff and login again. After that it shows correctly.
    Thank you.

Windows 8 updated to the last version.
    Drivers and bios updated too.
I ran Windows update again, couldn't find any updates.
I'm having the same issue as the person on this forum
    http://gdgt.com/question/fix-japanese-text-in-windows-8-displaying-squares-icj/
And I have to listen to some stranger on the internet with a solution to this problem, not MS support:
"This is a known issue that Microsoft is trying to fix at the moment. Best thing I can advise you to
do is that when this happens (I advise keeping a Japanese filename folder on the desktop so you can easily tell if it has) to log out of your account and log back in."
