Chinese language pack on English-language Nokia E7...

I'm based in Manila and just bought a Nokia E72 cellphone here locally in the Philippines. The unit is labeled E72-1.
I needed a cellphone which can display Chinese-language (both Traditional & Simplified Chinese) characters.
Unfortunately, this E72 I bought here only has the English language.
I've read that the Nokia E72 in Hong Kong / Taiwan / Singapore can display both English and Chinese language.
Is it possible to have the Nokia E72 add a Chinese language pack to display Chinese characters? I really need the Chinese display capability since I regularly have contacts who send me important SMS messages with Chinese characters.
If it's not possible to add the Chinese character display capability, I may be forced to let go of this Nokia E72 and perhaps have to order it instead from Hong Kong (or perhaps Taiwan or Singapore) where I presume the Nokia E72 there will have the English + Chinese display capability built-in.
Although not as important as the Chinese-display capability, I would also like if it could have Chinese language input capability installed on this E72. Is this also possible?
Note that I don't need the phone system menus/commands to be displayed in Chinese language (and actually prefer them to be English language). I only need the phone to display/input Chinese characters in the SMS messages.
Please advise so that I can make a decision as soon as possible, whether to let go of this locally-bought E72 with only English language and instead procure a unit from abroad with the Chinese language display (and input) capability.

I'd like to add some more information which may or may not be exactly useful for those who have the same issue as mine:
Adding as much Chinese as possible on the E72 without Chinese language pack:

Mobile dictionary language packages Translate words into the language of your choice. Add new languages to your pre-installed Mobile dictionary application from Mobile dictionary download page >>Text-to-Speech language packages and voice packages
Let your phone read your messages out loud with Text-to-speech, a tool which allows you to listen to text messages, multimedia messages, and emails. To utilize your Message Reader application download language packages and voice packages at the Text-to-speech page >>
1) Using the above page, one can download Chinese dictionary (Traditional and Simplified Chinese versions available).
It seems that after installing both dictionaries for the Mobile Dictionary application, I can fire up the Mobile Dictionary app and choose Target language to Traditional and Simplified Chinese.  The Traditional Chinese characters don't seem to display (some characters display while others are "square boxes"; but the Simplified Chinese characters appear to display correctly.)
So, it appears that the dictionary app can display Chinese characters (at least Simplified Chinese) after installing, although the SMS messages still display "square boxes" where there are Chinese characters.
2) Download Chinese [Mandarin] (or Chinese [HK]) language text-to-speech.  Now even though the E72 doesn't display Chinese characters (they show up as square boxes), I can use the msg reader to read those "square boxes" messages and it will read them in Chinese.  So at least, that's one way of having Chinese read back to you although the characters themselves can't be displayed.  (Set Language Detection to "On" in the Speech settings so it automatically recognizes Chinese; or one could also set the Voice Language to Mandarin Chinese so that even the voice prompts are read in Mandarin Chinese -- however, if Language Detection is set to "Off", it will try to read English SMS messages as per Chinese pinyin -- ie. incorrectly.).
One bug I notice is that for Chinese character email messages (Nokia Messaging). If I set my Language to English, but set the Speech setting of Language Detection to "On", and then activate the "Listen/Read" email messages, then the Msg Reader will hang up the phone. I had to use a utility called JBakTaskman to forcefully close Msg Reader (if don't have JBakTaskman, then have to turn off the phone and turn it back on).  So it looks like while the Language Detection can auto-detect Chinese characters in SMS messages and read them properly in Chinese, it seems to hang up in Email Messages.

  • SCCM deployment Win7 with multi language pack & software update languages

In our company we have a running SCCM infrastructure and deploy Windows 7 x64 (en) with all language packs. Now we integrate the software updates management process into SCCM.
My question is: Do we need to download and synchronize the software updates in all available languages or is English enough?
Thank you very much for your support!

    Hi,
We don’t suggest deploying all language packages in one time. You may deploy default language and let users choose which language
package to install in Windows Update to save the network traffic.

  • Language pack installation - AF language (Afrikaans)

    Hi experts,
Please let me how to get language pack installed on my machine?
I need to install Afrikaans ( AF ) language but couldn't find the corresponding language pack for downloading it in market place.
Please help me how to proceed.
    Regards,
    Kamaraj Sandeep.

    Hi Juan,
       Thanks for your prompt response.
I got the same response even from SAP through an OSS and also was informed about a Note 920085 which explains us that
    South Africa
SAP does not provide a translation for local languages spoken in South Africa like Afrikaans.
    English is official language.
    Recommendation:
    - For Afrikaans:
      - SAP provides the languagekey AF for Afrikaans since
         46C ( LATIN-1 codepage)
      - Unicodestronglyrecommended
       - You can do own translation and usethelanguage logistics tools .
I never heard about such language logistic tools and so can you please help me how to proceed using AF language in SAP.
    Any pointers are highly appreciated.

  • Invoice needs to be printed in cyrillic language along with english language

    Hi All,
We have been printing invoice only in english lanuage for Kazakhstan ,now they need it printed in cyrillic language also.that is they will have two invoices one in english and anothr one in cyrillic.
Can you please guide me through the configuration steps
1.Do i need to create a language specific scripts for this ?
2.Which all config need to be done from SD side ?
    Thanks
    Manaf

    Hi Manaf,
If you want to have multi language invoice layouts then you have to upload the master data like sales org details, customer details in both the languages ( English & Cyrillic languages)
    1) You also need to get the Cyrillic language details from your user for hard-coding the details in the invoice layout.Ex- INVOICE, CREDIT MEMO, DEBIT MEMO etc.
See below table shows for French language
    Name in English
    Name in French language
    Invoice
    Facture
    Date
    date
    Due Date
    redevable le
    Account
    compte
    Terms
    terme
    Bill To
    facturé à
    Period
    periode
    Desciption
    description
    2) After getting the details in Cyrillic language and we have to work with  technical consultant and give the logic of fetching the data from different tables.
    3) Now, in billing document header output if you input language key as English(EN) then system will pick the English invoice layout or if it is CY then Cyrillic layout will be picked accordingly.

  • Verity Language Packs

I am creating international sites with the following languages:  English, French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese.
Do I need to install ALL of the appropriate language packs?  English is already installed by default.  There is also an asian locales pack and a western european pack, which will cover all of my languages.  I assume all of these need to be installed.
Then what about the separate multilanguage pack?  Should I use that one also?  Or can I use that INSTEAD OF the other ones?  Thanks a lot for any assistance here.  I am using CF8 Enterprise edition.

  • Language packs for product codes

    Hi,
Is there a list of all available language packs and the languages they include?
    For example:
EURO1: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese
EURO2: English, French, German, Turkish, Dutch, Italian
EURO2: English, Czech, Slovakian, German, Polish, Hungarian
Scandinavia: English, Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Icelandic, Danish
    etc...
I've looked everywhere and couldn't find a cumulative list of all packs, so if someone could write or provide a link if that was already written somewhere, that would be highly appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Not really, because Nokia doesn't make this information public, so whatever might exist on the internet are little more than leaks of information which can't be relied upon to be entirely correct; or lists compiled by groups of users which can't be relied upon to be complete.

  • Cannot open Language settings from Tile view, and unable to install Language packs from WSUS.

    Hi all,
I have a bunch of Windows 2012 R2 servers that have been deployed from a syspreped image where the language has been defaulted to "en-GB", rather than the default "en-US".
I also have a WSUS 3 server running on a Windows 2008r2 machine. This tells me that a number of language packs are required by these 2102r2 machine, namely:
KB2839636 - English (United Kingdom) Language Pack
KB2839636 - English (United States) Language Pack
KB3012997 - English (United Kingdom) Language Pack
KB3012997 - English (United States) Language Pack
These have been approved to be installed on the 2012r2 machine, however, running Window Update on the machines shows nothing. Opening the Control panel, then navigating to "Add Language", then "options", shows no additional updates.
The I tried to search and run the languages control panel directly from the Windows Tile view by simply typing "language" and clicking the 'Language' option in the search results, but then get the following error dialogue box:
    [Window Title]
    C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Packages\windows.immersivecontrolpanel_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\Indexed\Settings\en-GB\Classic_{bf782cc9-5a52-4a17-806c-2a894ffeeac5}.settingcontent-ms

Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
The issue I have here is that I am logged on with the Domain Admin profile, but the path above refers to the local admin profile - however the file listed has full permissions for all 'Administrators'.
    So I have two questions:
How should the Language pack updates get installed from WSUS?
How do I fix the problem with trying to open the Language option direct from the tile search view?
    Many thanks
    Chris

    Might try these ones.

  • Language pack - how far does it reach?

I use Win 10 TP Build 10041 Japanese version.
and added the Language pack of English(United States) and set it as default.
On Log-in screen and after left-click on Start Menu, Japanese and English words are mixed.
Other screen/built-in apps are all in English.
I hope one language on all scenes.

Windows 10 is still under development and testing.
You may report all these issues using Feedback App and for those setting or words which are in English, you may also propose the Japanese word.

  • Windows 8 installation failure with German language pack

    Hi,
I have a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E330 with Windows 8. We just received it over Xmas - nice product. Just one Thing so far: I can't get the German language pack installed. Language, Keyboard layout and other regional Settings are set to German. After downloading the German language pack through Language->German->options->Download and Install Language pack (German Language Pack - Windows 8 for x64-based Systems - (KB2607607) [de-DE_LP])I always run into the following error during the Installation (download seems to be fine, error happens after about 2/3 of the Installation - if you believe the Progress bar). From the Event Viewer:
Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070002: German Language Pack - Windows 8 for x64-based Systems - (KB2607607) [de-DE_LP].
I already tried quite some stuff without success: no pending Upgrades, several reboots, switching off Firewall/anti-Virus, selective reboot just with Winodws Services and Startup stuff, ... No success.
Does anybody have seen a similar Problem? Anybody with a solution to get the German language pack finally installed?
Thanks in advance for your Support,
    Ingo

  • [Solve]Set ibus as default IM when use other english language in gnome

    Hello everybody,
I am satisfied with Arch + Gnome3 + Ibus in English language. With English language, Ibus is already set to default system-input-methods as well as I expected.
However, today I change language from english to vietnamese, System-input-methods change to other method, not Ibus.
I looked for programs to change input method such as im-settings, im-chooser and im-switch, but it's not exist in arch package or aur.
I add "export GTK_IM_MODULE="ibus"" to file ~/.bashrc , I can use Ibus only in firefox, libreoffice. To use Ibus with other programs as gedit, gnome-terminal, I must manual change input method by right click and choose Ibus.
So, How can I set Ibus as default system IM?
By the way, I can use Ibus in all Qt applications without trouble after set in qtconfig.
    Thanks for reading.

Well, I set: LOCALE="vi_VN.UTF-8" instead of LOCALE="en_US.UTF-8" by default in file "/etc/rc.conf" and it's solved.

First of all, uninstall it with the uninstaller.
    Then:
    Install the ENGLISH version.
Change the language in the CC app to Korean.
Install the Korean version. (DON't uninstall the English version)
Change back the langauge in the CC app to English.
When your OS is running in English, InDesign will run in English with Korean functionality added, if your OS is running in Korean it will take the Korean User Interface, so let your OS run in English.
Every installer language will add needed plugins for the work with that language. E.g. If I install Hebrew, I get RTL functionality in German version, only if I would change the OS language it would change the language of InDesign, InDesign takes always as UI language the language of the OS if available, if not (in your case you have uninstalled English before), it takes any version which is available in the order of languages specified in the OS.
If you need to run your program in a different language than the OS but you have installed it in the language of the OS it becomes more difficult. You would have to use some system tools which are able to force a program to open with a different language. Most of those tools are freeware.

People complained when Adobe added the arrows to the mouse cursors.
Now people complain when the cursor is returned to a Text insertion bar, without the arrow.
Clearly not every customer agrees on how cursors should work, nor apparently everyone in Adobe either.
I have this really great idea...  Maybe Adobe could make mouse cursors with arrows an option you can select.  I for one would choose the cursors with arrows, as Niall above would also, I suspect.
