Chinese New Year!! Not cool Apple!!
Hi, i would like to begin by saying i didnt know where else to post this, but i wanted to know if anyone else is experienceing this with their iMacs. I ordered a 20" iMac Core Duo with the 256Mb graphics upgrade. It shipped out on tuesday the 31st. I also paid extra for the 2-3 day shipping. Today is the third day and i checked the tracking number on UPS.com and my package hasnt even left China. Now i called UPS and guess what, its the **** Chinese New Year and they say my package wont go out till next monday, and i wont get it till next friday. Now i paid for the expedited shipping for a reason. The customer service rep said i should contact Apple for a refund because the regreted to tell me about this. Anyone else in the same boat?
I have been in the Far East (Vietnam) during the lunar New Year, so I understand that over there New Year is just like Christmas over here. My complaint with Apple is that the e-mail I was sent indicated that the iMac was shipped on Monday the 30th, and would arrive on Friday, Feb. 3. I also noticed the Airline Off-loaded packages status on UPS website. After 3 attempts, I finally got the straight story from UPS international that they were shut down from Saturday Jan. 28 thru Sunday Feb. 5.
My complaint with Apple is that they billed me on Jan. 30, which they considered to be the ship day, knowing that the product wouldn't actually ship until Feb. 6. The reason, obviously, is cash flow. And I now have my credit charged a month earlier than it should have been, which means I have to pay a month earlier.

Hi Oracle Gurus, I am having a hard time at trying to fix an issue with the ASCP. We have suppliers in China and Taiwan and because of the Chinese New Year holiday we have to plan in advance and issue POs to cover the two weeks off that the holidays last. What I did was to create another plan (separate from the one we use everyday) and linked it to a special Forecast Set with the items and qties for which we want to release purchase requsitions. The recomendation worked fine, the buyers were able to open the new plan and then issue the POs, now the problem is that the whole idea was to have the orginal plan working like if the purchase reqs from the Chinese New Year hadn't been created, and that is not happening. So the plan is basically recomending to reschedule in the POs the came for the chinese plan, instead of purchase requisitions based on the current forecast. How can I make the plan "avoid" all the supplies that came from the new plan and recomend requisition as usual?

CCI agree, Firm the POs on the source instance and ASCP will not advise to reschedule.
Don't forget about the possibility of Natural Time Fence being created for these items if
MSO: Firm Purchase Orders Within Time Fence = Yes
MSO: Firm Requisitions Within Time Fence = Yes
Example
with this profile setup, if the item has a PTF of 5 days but you firm the PO on day 10, then a Natural Time Fence will be created from day 10 which is beyond the 5 day PTF.
No Planned Orders will be created inside the Natural Time Fence. -

New computer not recognizing Apple TV
So, we just got a new PC and I got itunes installed just fine, but I am having difficulty getting my itunes to correctly recognize AppleTV. It just shows the device with a "Settings" tab/screen and a "Photos" tab/screen. I have tried looking at all the different troubleshooting options, I have updated to the latest and greatest version of itunes, but can't seem to get itunes to recognize more than that for the AppleTV.
What am I doing wrong? I feel like it should be a very easy fix.....You don't sync, there is no user accessible hard drive. You leave your computer on, make sure ATV has home sharing on, and that both are on the same wifi network. Then navigate to the computers tab on ATV and choose from your library (Music, Photos etc)

I set up an apple id many years ago when itunes was established. Within the past year or so, Apple has changed to using email address as user id. My problem is that I have many applications that I can not update due to the fact that it is asking for the password of the old ID. It does not exist anymore. Any ideas on how to get the new apple id associated with the application without deleting the application. Several of these apps I purchased.
You can not merge accounts.
Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them. -
I am considering purchasing a new Mac desktop. I have, at present, a Liteon 851S ext CD/DVD write and a Maxtor 3200 USB ext hard drive. Will these work with a Mac desktop? My local Apple store could not answer my question.Happy New year to all.
Yes the Mac can read that drive but you would need to Copy the data off of it to the Mac as apposed to Move, which implies Deleting them from the drive as they were transferred from the external to the Mac. Since the Mac can Not Write to NTFS drives it can't Delete anything as that is really a Write operation, IE Making changes to the NTFS formatted drive.
Once you have that Data on Both your New Mac and you Older Windows PC you can format that drive to work on both system.
If you want to and plan on doing that post back and I'll explane how, it is simple but should be done on a Windows PC.
If you only plan on using it on the Mac from now on that is fairly simple also and is done on the Mac, Once you have the files from it stored on the Mac.
Yes you could burn those photos to DVD but that is just a waste of DVDs, you don't need to. -
my iphone 5 get into water and in won't turn on, is this covered by apple 1 year warranty if not will apple replace it , and how much?

as far as i know, the battery in my macbook pro is supposed to last 1000 cycles. it's gone throught 700 in 1.7 years. i have apple care. is a new battery covered under applecare???
Basically only for the first year and only if Apple deems it defective. It is seen as a consumable item and not covered under Applecare.

It got A new router today and wanted to turn on apple tv but my remote app on iPad and iPhone will not recognize apple tv. Btw- I do not have apple tv remote.
It reboots it but unplugging can also rectify communication issues like this. A restore would be the next step.

Hi I recently purchased a new mac computer and would like to sync the music off my iPhone to my new mac.However, my phone and my new mac have different apple Ids.The PC which my phone is synced and has the same apple ID but does not let me transfer the music. Home sharing is not working. How do I successfully transfer and sync the music off my ipone 4 to my mac book pro if they have different Apple IDs? Thanks!
What do you mean the PC won't let you transfer the music? Save your entire iTunes folder (this is assuming that you have all your music stored in your iTunes folder) to an external hard drive. Connect that hard drive to your Mac. Copy the iTunes folder to your computer. Hold down the option key while launching iTunes on your Mac. Select the library you just copied when it ask you to select which library you want to open.

iPad 1 Safari Crashes Constantly and getting worse day by day. Has Apple come up with a solution? Now I am hearing its also happening on the newer models. My company is about to buy a lot of tablets and I will not recommend Apple anything until they fix the problem. Granted 30 or 40 iPads is not a huge impact but i promise once the outside world hears about this BS things will change. There are plenty of other tablets out there that do not have this problem. At the very least we should have the option of rolling back to a stable IOS...
I have already tried all the things mentioned above as well as other things such as other browsers etc. Its is obviously a problem with the hardware. I also borrowed a brand new 4th gen iPad and it does the same thing. Even after upgrading it to 6.01. An occasional crash is one thing and can easily be waved off but this is clearly systemic and the problem appears to be related to graphical images and videos. Both iPads are the 64gb versions, the only difference other than model is the iPad 1 has ATT cellular. The new version is clean i.e no other APPs loaded other than what came with it. I have 7 more coming but im seriously considering sending them back in favor of an Android tablet or the MS Surface.

I have a cracked iPhone 6 screen. I just bought the phone, but not AppleCare. If I get my iphone screen replaced through apple how much do I pay and would it void my one year warranty with Apple?
To replace your phone's screen costs $109US and I don't see why having Apple replace the screen would void your warranty.

I have an iMac 8.1, OSX 10.6.8, Boot Camp 3.2 running Windows XP. My original keyboard (MB110LL/A) was damaged by a water spill. I ordered a new one from the Apple Store. They sent me MB110LL/B, function keys need updated drivers (Boot Camp 3.3) which will only install if Windows 7 is installed. I have a large amount of older software that runs under XP but not Windows 7. The Apple support team basically said "too bad". If they replace a keboard model with a new model, they should at least make it backwards compatable or provide a Boot Camp update that will allow this model to work on older iMacs. Reloading Bootcamp 3.3 several times has no effect because it does not detect Windows 7. Any Ideas or help would be appreciated.

MS Security Essentials will no longer install due to compatibiliity issues - that is the idea of a beta - and the RC could be out in June.
Windows 7 doesn't work great on any Mac, or Apple drivers, fan cvontrol to manage heat, and other issues.
Put 8 in and get to know it, then when the RC comes out you'll be ready -
