Chinese seal script won't print, though other Chinese styles will print just fine

Windows 8.1, Word 2013/365, printer is HP Photosmart 5514. The printer simply doesn't print the document. It says, "The printer couldn't print Microsoft Word ____" (document name is where ___ is).
I can print documents in other Chinese character styles (楷書、行書、and 隸書). I can not print seal script (小篆) documents. I can not export this file to PDF (I get an error message), but I can export it to RTF and OpenDocument Text (those also refuse to print).
I understand that apparently a machine that can print all manner of pictures still requires fonts to print text, but I have the font in Word. The attached image has the beginning of the document if that clarifies anything.

This forum is a peer-to-peer forum; most advisors (including myself) have nothing to do with HP, other than as users of some of their products.
It is not a portal into HP technical support (although some HP staff do look at some of the posts).

Which confirms that a different application, in conjunction with the same printer driver and font, appears to work OK.
As I said before "the fault must lie in how the application (in conjunction with the printer driver) is handling the text in the problematic font".
i.e. it appears that the generated print stream from your Word document(s) contains something invalid which the print objects to; or is it that Word itself fails? Your error message doesn't make it clear where this comes from.
To investigate further would require (at the least) a copy of one of your problematic documents (hopefully quite short, and with 'sanitised' data) and a copy of the TrueType font.
If the printer was a PCL5 or PCL6 printer, given those files, I could do some investigation (but without any guarantee of finding the cause of the problem).
But as it is an inkjet device, using PC3GUI, I can't help, sorry.

You need to go to the App stores and find compatible apps. iOS device do not natively have to ability to transfer info to a computer via BT to a computer.
With iOS 8 you can use AirDrop

HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium will not print docs from computer, but will print a test page. I continually get a message that the computer cannot communicate with the printer.   Not only will it not print docs, it will not print web pages using IE 11 or Google Chrome.
I've used Print and Scan Doctor, it always reports there are no issues and prints a test page even though I can't print anything else.
Each time I want to print, I must reboot the computer. After reboot I have one chance to print.   This problem started February 15, 2015.
My operating system is Windows 8.1.   I have unintalled the HP software, rebooted, then reinstalled the software:
OJ8500_A910_1315-1.exe
HP Print and Scan Doctor - HPPSdr.exe
HPSupportSolutionsFramework-11.51.0049.msi
All versions were last downloaded on April 4, 2015.
I have a home wireless network (Ubee DDW366 router). All other devices in the house will print to the 8500A printer without issues: 2 Toshiba laptops, 2 Android phones, and 1FireHD.
The desk top is installed with a Netgear Network card I don't know the model, but I had it tested by a PC Tech to confirm that the card is working.   The card and Windows 8.1 were installed on January 3, 2015.
I have run virus scans and malware scans. Each time they show there are no issues with my desktop. What kind of desktop? Specifically made to my specs from store parts. . . no brand name computer. ASUS Motherboard P6X580 Premium. Now I will probably get hacked!
I am at my wits end. And it is frustrating when I need to make a print of something and the system locks up. I often resort to screen printing to a word document to save in order to reboot. . . .but then I lose all sorts of capabilites when I salvage what I needed. Also this is a time consumer.
This printer has served us well for two years and I have expensive cartridges waiting; another two rounds of refills.
Help?
Addendum: I can scan using HP Printer Assistance. I open the HP Printer assistant, it "retrieves" info from the printer, then I select "scan a document or photo" and the printer responds.   I have no trouble with scanning.

Nope, I tried the Pacifist route after applying the combo update.
It does sound as if webkit is busted at the moment.
What version of osx is on your install disks?

What operating system?
What version of Lightroom?
How much RAM?
Did you install anything new?
What version of Camera Raw are using in Photoshop CS5?

OK, well you haven't provided any information so there isn't anything we can do. What is needed at the bare minimum is:
Exactly what printer are you referring to?
How is it connected to the iMac (USB, Wi-Fi, etc...)?
What steps you have taken to connect the printer?
What errors you have run into.
What I would recommend is using Apple's Printing Overview OS X Lion to learn how to install it. Also take a look at Printer and scanner software for Snow Leopard & Lion to see if it's even compatible with Lion.

It's all about setting up what ever version of windows you have running on your pc to share the printer. If you still get stuck post in a windows forum for help.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

If it is a lightning to 30 pin adaptor, and you have a 7th Generation Nano it has to fit the Nano.

You need to contact Sony and see if they model you have is compatible with the docking adapter. It may not be.

Since upgrading to Maverick I cannot send/share photos through iPhoto. Dropbox says "not connected to server". All other online email activities work just fine.

THis sounds like you either need to (my personal suggestion) change your email client to Mail in the iPhoto preferenceemail if you want to use the iPhoto client under the accounts tab delete your account and re-enter it

Won't print to photo tray, but will print test page

I have most current Vista driver, but can't print to photo tray. It won't pull the tray in, although it works great when printing test page. I tried various page/paper settings and "photo tray" light settings, but still won't print from Vista.
Tried 8250 printer properties, changing paper settings, but can't recognize settings, even though it sees the paper and prints the test page. Seemed to work just fine with XP.

Plugged into an XP machine, photo printed.
Plugged back into Vista, fooled with the settings, then it worked!

before you answer I have tried restore.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indiacte a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
