ChkErrBB.CMD Recovery Error Message

I purchased a G62 notebook/laptop in February of this year. I have had considerable problems with hackers online infecting and corrupting the system and recovered the system like 5 times with the recovery partition until it became corrupted and disappeared from the hard drive. I then ordered the recovery media and was able to recover system an additional 6 times until I got this message listing:
ChkErrBB.CMD : Detect some error during PININST_BBV.
ChkErrBB.CMD : Check c:\system.sav\logs\BurnBootWarn.log
ChkErrBB.CMD : check c:\system.sav\logs\BurnBootMerge.log
I saved the log but it does not appear on the flash drive it says it successfully loaded onto so I can't include that. Funny thing is, I got an original Windows installation disc and it bypasses this problem and is able to make system completely functional again. I would very much like to get the system back to factory original as Windows installation is not as full featured or custom as HP system is.
I have removed the wireless card to alleviate some hacker problems I was having and have now misplaced it, but I had recovered system succesfully previously without it leading to this error message. Acronis and I think FDISK are the only diagnostics which seem to find 4 'bad' or unstable sectors on the hard drive, so I don't know what to make of that as Western Digital diagnostic/wiper and others do not? I have also flashed the BIOS to the most recent F27 version, and discharged BIOS battery/capacitor to try to get around this problem a couple times to no avail. I have updated all other drivers to the most recent versions except for the hard drive which you do not support with original or updated version online.
I had purchased PCTuneup service for 70 dollars which was unable to remedy this problem before it expired. When I first encountered this problem with the recovery process, the tech I talked with said I could send in the computer and pay 400 dollars to have it fixed, which is more than it cost new, so this is the last resort I have to figuring out this problem in hopes of solving it. Obviously, I did some warranty-voiding activities since I got that unhelpful help.
Looking forward to any technical insights and help you may have........

My hard drive worked fine with 8.1pro which I paid for and copied on a USB and installed on my Envy Notebook.    Also downloaded and installed Windows 10 Beta.  When I tried to use my recovery disc from HP. it didn't work and I got your 3 error issues.  HP said the installation I did of Windows 10 messed up the boot partiton and they would send me a new harddrive and new recovery media and that would take care of the problem.   I installed it and used the recovery drive they sent me.  Same errors.
Called back and now they want me to send my computer in for repair.  I said that was not the problem.  I can install my version of Windows 8.1 pro I purchased from my USB drive but could not install from their usb recovery drive.  By the way this is the third recovery drive they sent me.
And the third hard drive I have installed in this computer and it is not yet 3 years old.
I found a solution from some other person online with the same errors.  He said to go into the Boot Section of the HP. F10 and reset it to Factory Defaults and then reinstall the HP USB recovery drive.  I am doing that as we speak.  It didn't work on mine but I am going to give it a second try.

  • Windows could not complete the installation recovery error message with HP recovery discs

While doing a system recovery on an HP G72-b50US notebook using HP purchased recovery DVD's, the reboot "Welcome" screen always (tried 5 recovery attempts from scratch) generates the error message "Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on theis compuiter, restart the installation". any attempt at a reboot, even into safe mode, regenerates this same error message. How does this get fixed to allow completion of the installation process?

I wish I could tell you.
I also used the HP factory recovery disks on an 8200 Elite CMT. I used them once before with no problem.
The second time was a show-stopper. The recovery process would ask for all 4 disks, then the recovery installation would begin, reboot continue on, everything normal.
Then on the last reboot, when the recovery program stated it was configuring windows, it just quit and stated Windows could not complete the installation.
I made sure that I had absolutely nothing connected to the PC except the keyboard, mouse and monitor.
The only thing I can possibly think of was that I installed a Radeon HD 6570 video card which I replaced the Radeon HD 6350 card with. However, both cards are supported in the PC, and I cannot remember if I did the restore with the 6350 the last time or the 6570.
Now, the reason the ISO file will work is because this is a plain and simple Microsoft Windows 7 ISO file--the very same one that you download when you purchase W7 online from the very same download site.
It is not PC-specific and will install on any PC in the world.
A recovery disk is PC-specific, and is a very complicated mish-mash of programs, drivers, operating system, all customized for your specific model PC.  Even something like installing a new hard drive or memory can foul up the works.
The downside of using the plain MS disk is the only programs and drivers you can install are the ones found on your notebook's support and driver page.
The upside of using the plain W7 installation, is you normally end up with a better performing PC, free of bloatware and unnecessary running processes.
For someone like me, it is a non-issue, but for others, they may miss some of the included software.
But that is better than having a computer that is of no value with no operating system installed, wouldn't you agree?

  • Dell Inprision 2330 Backup and Recovery error message 0x4001100200001005

A week ago, there were problems with the computer Dell Inprision 2330, and I'm using a Dell Backup and Recovery to restore the disk C to the image stored on the dvd disks. 3 days ago the computer began to hang when windows starts. I decided again to restore the system with dvd, but this time got the error message 0x4001100200001005.
Tried to restore the image to another drive, but the error appears again.
Other recovery media then dvd-disks "dell backup and recovery" I don't have.
    Please help.

I was very disappointed with this buggy system recovery. After I got tired of trying to restore the system, I found a post "Download Windows 8.1 Retail and OEM.iso". Did everything according to instructions. Now the computer is running. Activation performed automatically.

  • Rescue and Recovery error message

    Hello everyone,
I hope someone can assist me.
I have a 3000 J series desk top computer that has a error message that comes up several times a day. It says Rescue and Recovery has failed and I need to click the site to upgrade Rescue and Recovery. I click it and the Lenovo web page comes up to the download page. I try to down load it and I get the error message " tvtiargot has stopped working. Do we need the Rescue and recovery or is this just a junk file that Lenovo puts on the computer?
Also how many memory ports are there in a 3000 j desk top? is there a way to find out without taking the cover off?

Lenovo J series has 2usb ports in the front and 2 in the back...If you need to use more a hub can be attached to one of the back usbports.  Keep in mind one of the 2 ports in the back is used by the keyboard.   Rescue and Recovery is notorious for not working properly in lenovo 3000J and thinkpad series.  Some become corrupted and refuse to start..some are controled by Client Security..and sometimes will not open with the password or asks for one when you never created one.   Beware...you delete Rescue and Recovery  and you have a crash..you are toast ...The recovery disk that you make operates on the rescue and recovery format.   It can be replaced by acronis..avail at staples..and more reliable ..but becareful about deleting the Rescue and Recovery program  especially if you have enabled the client security...it is connected to the security chip in the bios..You many have to deactivate the chip first in the bios ..so you don;t get shut out of your computer....Addtitonal advise ..do not play sony/bmg music cd's in your lenovo..they can deactivate your cd/dvd drive as they contain a stealth program that can damage your system.
Other problems ..Roxio can severely slow down your system..and is most always a bundle sold with lenovo..You have to increase your virtual memory to almost 3000mb to speed things up..Upgrade your system to 2gb is you haven't already done so.. there are two memory slots...one is already occupied by 512mb memory chip..buy 2   1gb chips and put them in the slot after removing the 512mb.   Open the cabinet...It is easy as changing a lightbulb.....good luck!

  • Recovery error message - destination drive is not connected

I have an hp 630 laptop, i have been struggling with hp recovery manager running off optical disks. My drive is now completely empty , i wiped it. I have been trying to reset to factory settings, but after inserting the second disk the progress bar gets stuck at about 36% for a long time then a message appears. Destination drive is not connected. I have searched online and found many others have had the same problem but none of them seem to have found a solution.
    Desparate please help.

I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. You can do this at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/hpeb/ .

  • Upgrating to Mountain Lion gives only "no recovery" error message

When trying to install ML to MBPro ( 8 Gt, 8.55 Gt free in HD, 2.26 GHz, OSX 10.6.8 ) this message pops up and I have to cancel the upgrating. What to do?

Since you need at least 8GB of available space, I suspect you don't have enough. Dump 10-20 GB to an ext HD and remove it from your installation. That should free enough to do the install.

  • Windows 8 Recovery Error - 0xc00000f

    Hi All
I currently have a HP Pavilion 14-b030tu Sleekbook. What happened was the initial harddrive that came with the computer died and i was unable to clone the recovery partition for it. What i did was i called HP Support and they send me Recovery CDs for my laptop.
Since i currently do not have a external DVD drive i decided to copy and merge the contents of each disc onto a 32GB USB formatted as FAT32. What happens is everytime i try and boot the USB with Legacy Support Enabled and Secure Boot Disabled and vice versa it always says
    Recovery
Your PC needs to be repaired
A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed.
    Error code: 0xc000000f
The new HDD is formatted as GPT and currently has a clean Windows 8 install on it. Ive set the USB Partition Type as Active but it still has the same problem.
    Anyone got any ideas?

The failure ID that you have provided for the memory test means that the Checksum has failed. This means that it is not finding a part that should be available, but is not showing. After taking a look into the issue of the memory test failing, the most likely cause of the failure is one memory modules has failed. I have included a link to another HP Forum thread here. Please follow the steps that DavidPK has outlined.
For the recovery error message that you are getting, this means that an integral component used during startup can not be found. This error should resolve itself once the memory Checksum error is resolved.
If your notebook has two memory modules, you should be able to boot from the one memory module until the other one is replaced.
Please let me know the outcome of the troubleshooting, thank you.

  • Dv4 ChkErrBB.CMD: Detect some error during PININST_BBV.

I was trying to restore my computer and I keep getting an error. ChkErrBB.CMD: Detect some error during PININST_BBV. I have made sure the Sufi is turned on and tryed the ctr-alt-del at the error message but it wont open the task manager so I can end the setup process. I have tried to restore the machine like 6 times.
Computer is a dv4-1551dx using factory restore disk. On a side note I have restored successfuly before with the same disk about a year ago.

I see everyone is having the same problem, and HP Tech Support is no help at all.  Here is how you fix it. When you boot up your computer hit F10 that will take you to the BIOS manager. then hit F9 to set BIOS to factory default save and exit then do recovery.  Worked for me and it only took me 3 weeks to figure it out lol.

  • TS4303 When I try to Reinstall Mac OS X Lion using the Recovery by choosing the partition, I got an error message saying that it protected. What should I do?

My Macbook Pro will not start anymore after the update.
When I try to Reinstall Mac OS X Lion using the Recovery by choosing the partition, I got an error message saying that it protected. What should I do?

Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
If that doesn't help Reinstall the OS.

Got it thanks macjack . Command + S on restart.
In this case Nad69-Breizh did you try restarting with the option key down and re-selecting the boot drive.
If no Recovery option,  try command option R  for internet recovery. Takes some time to load up.

To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
    Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.

  • A error message from running the jpa-cache-server.cmd file

When I try to run jpa-cache-server.cmd file, it show the following error message:
"failed to load main-class manifest attribute from %coherence_home%\lib\coherence-jpa.jar"
    What is the problem?

Forgive me but I do not see that file (jpa-cache-server.cmd) in the Coherence 3.5 distribution. With that said, I don't believe that coherence-jpa.jar is a executable jar. What exactly are you trying to do?
If you are trying to start a cache server with the jpa classes available to it I would suggest just adding the coherence-jpa.jar to the class path.

  • IPhone 4 stuck in recovery mode, iTunes error message pops up saying cannot be restored...how do I go about this?

Hi all..hoping someone can help me out with this.
So I recently lost my iPhone 5, therefore I am going to use a friend's old iPhone 4 in the meantime. The iPhone 4 has been jailbroken, but I wanted to do a reset to clear the jailbreak as well as just clear all other data, so that I can just restore my own iCloud backup & use with my own data.
However, the problem I am now faced with is that the phone is in recovery mode, and when I plug in the phone to my computer...I am given the options to click Restore. But after all the time it takes to update the software and supposedly doing its thing with "restoring" the phone....turns out no luck, i get an error message saying the phone cannot be restored. And now I pretty much can't do anything because I do not know how to do a reset of any sort to get out of this recovery mode.
PLEASE HELP. first time losing phone, first time trying to figure out how to reset and get out of recovery mode. I just want to be able to reset and then restore with previous backup..
I really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance.
*please ask any questions that you may need in order to help me solve this, since I am not exactly sure how to word some of these problems*
