Hi,
I don't understand Apple's strategy here. They could enable the upload button in safari in a way that access to OS is still not possible. Why not just browse only in the cloud or in your dropbox. So the user could upload files and there is still no access to OS relevant files. I think that would easily face a need which otherwise lets costumers switch to alternative tabs.
Is there any thread where user can post enhancement requests for iOS which will be read by apple employees?

1. Excel File is on My PC.
2. And I want to write a Stored Procedure or Package to do that.
3. DataBase is on Other Server. Client-Server Environment.
4. I am Using Toad or PlSql developer tool.

If you would like to create a package/procedure in order to solve this problem consider using the UTL_FILE in built package, here are a few steps to get you going:
1. Get your DBA to create directory object in oracle using the following command:
create directory TEST_DIR as ‘directory_path’;
Note: This directory is on the server.
2. Grant read,write on directory directory_object_name to username;
You can find out the directory_object_name value from dba_directories view if you are using the system user account.
3. Logon as the user as mentioned above.
Sample code read plain text file code, you can modify this code to suit your need (i.e. read a csv file)

Export Table to flat file and upload to FTP server for external vendor

I have done some extensive searches on the forums and I think I have an idea but really need some help. Basically have a table that needs to be exported to a flat file and uploaded to a FTP server so that our vendor can get the data Monday-Saturday and automated by sysdate. This data is used to produce daily letters that go out to customers.
After doing some searching I came across the UTL_FILE package and reading more into this right now but I am not sure if it is what I should be using to create the file.
I am using TOAD right now and can see how to do it manually however really need the file to create itself and send automatically at 6 am Monday - Saturday with the date at the end of the file name making it a unique file for each day.

As Justin and others have mentioned I wrote [XUTL_FTP|http://www.chrispoole.co.uk/apps/xutlftp.htm] so you wont find it in the Oracle documentation. It's pure PL/SQL and uses UTL_TCP and implements an integrated PL/SQL FTP client / API. One of it's many overloaded procedures FTP's the contents of a refcursor straight to a FTP server of your choice, meaning no intervening file is required. Since it is pure PL/SQL, it is trivial to schedule using DBMS_JOB/DBMS_SCHEDULER.
Any questions just ask.

I am working on creating a report which takes the balance sheet backfeed and creates a unix file in background and mails the spool file to particular user.
I have developed this much. But now I have to extend this to reading that file and create a .txt or .csv file and upload it to a portal.

Read different language from the file and upload data

I am loading customer master data through BDC( trx-XD01) by reading a file from PC. The file contains customer data in different language like English, Chinese, and Japanese etc. However, when creating customer master data, only those data in English are able to create, as I am in English log on. The data in other language is showing garbage value. However, when I am logging in with that language (say Chinese) this time I am able to create customer for Chinese data but not for other.
Can someone one help me to solve this problem irrespective of language in the file and SAP log on, I should able create customer through my program.

Read Application server file and upload into internal table

Another help needed guys,
My file in the application server is of format
Name       Marks 1    Marks 2       Marks 3............
A                10             15               20
The only thing separating the columns is space.
Actually this file was downloaded from an internal table into the app server.
Now I want to load it back into the internal table.
How do I load this into internal table so that each column goes in separate internal table field.
Currently am using cl_abap_char_utilities=>HORIZONTAL_TAB but I can get only the first column name in my field1 of the internal table.
How should I applroach this?

i think u have uploaded the tab delimited file in the application sever.
then suppose see if u r file is in the format of name#marks1#marks2#marks3.
then in the program u do like this..
first declare one internal table with one filed.
data:

Regarding Folder management, i can create folders in content management server and upload them required file .
is that only possible through contentmgt server ? in liferay . when i login into my app . i can goto fileupload page and create folder and upload file i have the file upload role and can check them in the content pages through browsing .... how can i add this feature in my webcenter application. it seems to me that people who want to manage folder and upload file files into them , they had to login into content management ser instead of our application not sure how can i merge both features in my application? i;m not please suggest

Hi,
You cannot just download and upload module pool programs .
There are 2 different ways.
1. Copy all the includes and and create the same in the target system. You can download and upload the the Screen.
But GUI status you have to manually create.
2. If you have completely saved the module-pool program in one Workbench request(including Z tables u have used) in the original system ,just release the workbench request and copy the data file and co file and upload to the target system ( use CG3Y & CG3Z).
If the workbench is a Local Request save it in a Transport of copies and then move.

HELP ON LOGIN AND UPLOAD PAGE

hi there. I currently design a website for a rugby club, and need to allow access to the coach to upload the team every Thursday. There is no point in putting Dreamweaver on his PC so would like to add a page where he logs in (he will be the only one with the login details) and then that will direct him to a page so that he can upload the team. I would like the upload set up as a spread sheet so that he can just type the players name and click ok to upload it. I really needs to be that simple for him otherwise he'll get confused. PLEASE CAN YOU HELP????

While Im not sure I understand, and I dont know what you mean by "upload the team", it sounds like any blogging program would fit the bill. You might want to look at Wordpress for that.
If the uploading of the team is replacing last weeks file for this weeks file and you dont care about keeping a record of all the files, you could simply make this a SSI (Server Side Include) and let the coach overwrite the file and upload it, I would think Contribute or even a simple FTP program would do the trick.
You could also write a form that only the coach would have and it would update the page or file in question,

I have three jobs and each job creates a file. I want to run one more job which clubs these three files and merges it in to one.
I know the process of opening each file and appending it in to the target file using DATASET concept.
Instead of that, I want any UNIX Shell command so that I can call that directly from ABAP and execute it

Hello Babu,
We can very well call an OS command from within ABAP, but in your case, I don't think that is really required. Please find below a logic that might be helpful to you.
You have three files, whose contents needs to be merged into a single file.
Read the contents of each file and store it into an internal table.
DATA: command LIKE rs37a-line.
DATA: BEGIN OF tabl OCCURS 0,
          line(2000),
      END OF tabl.
command = 'cat /tmp/file1.txt'.
CALL 'SYSTEM' ID 'COMMAND' FIELD command
              ID 'TAB'     FIELD tabl-*sys*.
Internal table 'tabl' will contain the contents of the file.
Accumulate all the contents into a single file and upload to the application server using OPEN DATASET, TRANSFER DATASET and CLOSE DATASET.

Clean install, backup, recover individual files and applications.

I'm sure this has already been discussed and explained but I'm not quite sure what to look for exactly. If someone can give me a link to the correct thread, that would be fine.
I've had my MacBook for about three weeks now and I never did a clean/fresh install (didn't know that would save a lot of space on the HD). I want to do one now, but how do I go about this?
Sure, first I'll need a backup program (SuperDuper has been reccommended a lot). But what I don't know is whether or not I can choose which files and applications I'd like to put back on the MacBook after the clean installation. I mean, I don't want to recover the entire backup because that would defeat the purpose of a clean installation right?
Also, can I just recover the systems settings separately too?
Yeah, so I hope this makes sense. If not, I'd be glad to elaborate.

One final question: I'm now using my iPod (5G, 60GB) as a bootable HD. Will this corrupt the iPod or harm it in any way? There isn't a real consensus from what I've gathered by swiftly browsing the Internet just now.
